John E. Tanner, 54, passed away May 19, 1998.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Eunice Tanner; and brother, Max. He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Neff of Nashport, Ohio, Karen Nichols of Orlando, Fla.; son, John E. Tanner of Dover, Ohio; sister, Mitzi (Charles) Cummings of Doylestown; five grandchildren; and longtime friend, Sandra Pilcavage and son, Thomas.

Mrs. Tyson was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 24, 1892.

NORTON -- Emma Jean Walters, ``Jean,'' went home to be with the Lord on May 19, 1998.
Emma was born in Monterey, Tenn., and was a lifetime resident of Norton. She was retired from the Fairlawn Country Club, where she served as hostess, and attended Barberton Wesleyan Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by mother, ``Ma Todd''; daughter, Jo Ann McVaney; brother, Willard Todd; and sister, Ruby Clement. Emma is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law, John and Betty Walters; loving brothers, Arthur ``Art,'' Joseph, Edgar, and Raymond Todd; loving sister and best friend, Beulah ``Boodie'' Trout; grandchildren, Janet, Lisa, John, Don, and Kristi; great-grandchildren, Amy, Amanda, Danny, Mary, Christine, and Ronnie; great-great-grandchildren, Joshua and JoAnna; and many nieces and nephews. We will all miss you, Ma.

Ada L. Waters, of Medina, 91, passed away at the October Hills Camp Grounds in Holmes County on May 17, 1998.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sharon Center. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by daughters, Jean Waters and Betty Seymour; son, Don (Dixie) Waters of Louisburg, Tenn.; brother, Donald Becker of Xenia, Ohio; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; and grandson, Rick Seymour.

CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Edna Clarissa Welfley, 85, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away May 13, 1998.
Born in Akron, she was a life resident of the Cuyahoga Falls area, having worked for General Outdoor Advertising, and later becoming a self-employed bookkeeper. She was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ, Falls Cancer Club, and the Unattachees Dance Club. She was an avid dancer, golfer, and bowler, who loved Dixieland jazz, her church, and made the best homemade ``Grandma's noodles.''
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, Dale; and daughter, Carol, she is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Judy of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Lisa, Mark, James, Jennifer, Scott, Jeff, Nicole, Megan, and Aimee; 10 great-grandchildren; and loving friend, Roy Bendell.

Lillian F. White, 83, passed away Saturday, May 30, 1998.
She was born in Windber, Pa., and retired from the University of Akron food service department in 1985 with 17 years service. She was a member of Kenmore Senior Citizens.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by husband, Russell, in 1983; sisters, Margarete Dayton, Kathleen Ake, Dorothy Williard; brothers, Evington, Verle, Foster, and Paul McClellan. Lillie G. White, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 15, 1998.
Born April 1, 1904 in Port Gibson, Ms., she had been a resident of Summit County since 1924. She was a member of First Apostolic Faith Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Missionary Service League member and was a deacon's wife. She was employed by the family of Atty. Dudley Maxon for over 56 years.
Lillie was preceded in death by husband, Walker White, parents, Louis and LeAnna Mitchell, five brothers and three sisters. She is survived by sister, Ella Mae Sheppard of Cuyahoga Falls; sisters-in law, Zoe Mitchell, Akron, Cleo Mitchell of Chicago, Il.; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; special cousins; adopted son, Freddie (Betty) Gill and a host of other friends.

Mrs. Williams was born in New Castle, Pa. and was a lifelong resident of the Akron area. A member of the New Covenant Presbyterian Church, she had formerly worked at O'Neil's and Halle's Department Stores.

Crystal J. Wix, 66, died Saturday, May 16, 1998.
Mrs. Wix was born in Petroleum, W. Va., and had been an Ohio resident since 1944. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. She was a member of Park United Methodist Church and Telephone Pioneers of America. Mrs. Wix had a great love for Africa and spent five weeks there on safari.
Preceded in death by her granddaughter, Alysha, she is survived by her children, Steven Stump of Jacksonville, Florida, Van (Karen) Stump of Akron, Sheila Galeano of Cuyahoga Falls, Lee (Ken) Messner, also of Akron, and Paula (Matt) Coffelt of Canton; sisters, Nancy Scott of Bath, New Hampshire, Shirley Greeson of Raleigh, Nc., and Mary Humphreys of Parkersburg, W. Va.; and six grandchildren.

He retired from General Tire after 30 years.
