CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Stella Carlisle, 72, died May 29, 1998. She was a faithful employee of First National Bank, loved flowers and trees and always kept her yard immaculate. She is survived by her son, John Carlisle; many friends and neighbors, including John and Laura Wilson, Monica Milosovic, Nancy Wilson, and John Petzker. Service will be conducted at the Redmon Funeral Home on Monday at 1 p.m., and where friends may call one half-hour prior to service time. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery. (Redmon, Stow, 688-6631.)

Joe Z. Carlton
Joe Z. Carlton, 78, passed away June 9, 1998. He was born in Deep Gap, N. C., and lived most of his life in the Akron area. He retired in 1976 as a maintenance man for the General Tire & Rubber Co. with 38 years service, and was a member of Adoniram Masonic Lodge 517 F&AM. He is survived by wife, Dorothy J.; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and David Verheyden of Seattle, Wash., Linda and Jesse Rhodes of Cuyahoga Falls; son and daughter-in-law, Curtiss M. and Janice of Cuyahoga Falls; brothers, Paul, Bynun and Charlie, all of North Carolina, and Linc of Florida; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by grandson, James. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Hennessy-Bagnoli Funeral Home, 936 N. Main St., Akron, Rev. C. Edward Carter officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Dewey Carr Jr.
Dewey Carr Jr., 51, passed away peacefully with his loving family and friends at his side. Born in Ravenna, he retired from Ameritech in 1994 after 30 years of service. He was currently employed at Firestone Country Club and the Brooklands. He was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church, Akron Turner Club, Hibernian Club, and Akron Telephone Pioneers of America. He was an active member of the Laurel and Hardy Sons of the Desert Fan Club and a charter member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was a veteran of the Army during the Vietnam War. Dewey was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Sr. and Euna Carr; and his niece, Monica Koenig. He will be very sadly missed by his best friend and wife of 32 years, Marlene; sons, Dewey J. (D. J.) and Brian; and the light of his life, his grandson, Christopher; sisters-in-law and spouses,Judi and Greg Stoerkel, and Denise and John Clay; niece and nephews, Jason and Kim Koenig, Greg Clay, and Gisele Ezzell (Clay); brothers and sisters-in-law, Edsel and Wilda Carr, and Eldon and Doris Carr; sisters, Ernestine Williams and Debra Carr; and a host of dear friends too numerous to mention. To Dewey, everyone was family. Dewey will continue his love for music playing music with the angels. Funeral services will be held Monday, 10:30 a.m., at the Kucko- Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, followed at 11 a.m. by a Mass of the Resurrection at Annunciation Catholic Church, Rev. Frs. Violet P. Casmar, 84, died June 2, 1998. Christopher E. Christie
Christopher E. Christie, 83, passed away May 30, 1998. Born in Bulgaria, he retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. after 46 years of service, during which time he developed 19 patents and also piloted the Goodyear Blimp during World War II. Mr. Christie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Jane; sons, William, Charles (Jacqueline), Kit (Patricia); 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Whetstone; cousin, Rose Herron. Malinda Christy
MIDDLEPORT -- Malinda Christy, 91, died May 30, 1998. She had lived in Middleport for the past 17 years, and was formerly of Portland and the Barberton area. She was a member of the Middleport Nazarene Church, and a member of Pomeroy Senior Citizens and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary 128 of Middleport. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Jay First; 11 brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by husband, Manley Christy of Middleport; brother, Lawrence Blosser of Little Hocking; stepdaughter, Margaret Sommerfield of Westerville; stepson, Clifton First of Florida; and several stepgrandchildren. Steven A. Clark
Steven A. Clark, 36, of Akron, passed away Saturday, June 6, 1998, at Manor Care Nursing Home. He was born July 18, 1961, in Champaign, Ill., the son of William A. and Mary R. Clark. He went home to join Jesus, and his loving mother and father, his sister, Cathy Clark; and brother, David W. Clark, who preceded him in death. Steven was a faithful member of Ernest Angley's Grace Cathedral, where he had a great love for the people and his pastors. Survivors include his loving brothers and sister-in-law, Tim and Lou Clark, and Danny Clark; and his precious friend, Brian Strom; nieces and nephews include Angel, Dianna, Dana, Casey, Daniel, Jason, and Jeremy; and a host of other relatives and friends. Polly M. Clay
Polly M. Clay, 81, passed away June 2, 1998, at Akron City Hospital. She was born in Kermit, W. Va., and had lived most of her life in the Akron area. Mrs. Clay had worked for the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. during World War II, and Sun Rubber Co. in Barberton for a few years after the war. Polly was also a member of the Akron Baptist Temple and the Ninth Ward Republican Women's Club. Preceded in death by husband, Arthur E.; and an infant son, she is survived by children, Sharon Spaulding Clay of Chicago, Ill., Ted (Linda) Clay of West Virginia, Dennis Clay of Portage Lakes; grandchildren, Clinton (Sharon) Martz, Katie Martz, Shelby (Dennis) Clay Rogers, M.D., and Jason Clay; sisters, Alice Johnson of Ft. Gay, W. Va., Frankie Waller of Columbus, Stella Thurman of Whitehall, Ohio; brothers, Jesse Spaulding of Crum, W. Va., Joe and James Spaulding, both of Columbus. Ashley Carollee Clementi/Elkins
Ashley Carollee Clementi/Elkins, 7, is resting peacefully with God as of May 30, 1998. Ashley was born April 26, 1991, and had suffered a long illness since birth. She had been residing at Hattie Larlham, where she had made many friends. There is not enough thanks in the world to say to such a special place for the time and care shared with our daughter. Ashley also attended Weaver School; and many thanks to their staff as well. Children's Hospital has provided the comfort for our daughter throughout the years, and we thank all who crossed her path. We all knew she was sent for only a while, and thought of her as an angel; now she has her wings. Thanks to everyone who helped with our daughter. She is survived by father, Michael Clementi of Akron; mother, Norma Elkins of Copley; brothers, Michael Clementi, Jason and Joey Elkins; sisters, Kelly and Brandy Elkins; extended family, Nana and Papa Justice, Grandma and Grandpa Foster; and many aunts, uncles, great-aunts, -uncles, and cousins. Kirby D. Cleveland Jr.
NEW JERSEY -- Kirby D. Cleveland, Jr., 51, passed away June 2, 1998, in Orange, N. J., after a short illness. Born in Akron, Kirby served in Vietnam, where he received an honorable discharge, and worked in the New Jersey area. He is survived by father, Kirby Sr. (Georgia Mae) of Akron; mother, Margaret Leone of Kentucky; devoted daughter, Keisha (Willie) McKenzie; daughter, Diane Porter; son, Kirby III; brothers, Timmy Cleveland, Harold and Alvin Ross, all of Akron, Jerry Leone of New Jersey; sisters, Florence Cleveland, Roberta and Alberta Watson of Akron, Carolyn Terrell of Georgia, Margaret, Donna and Linda, all of New Jersey, Joanne Weaver of Dallas, Texas; grandsons, Jordan and JoVon McKenzie; special niece, Towanda Curley; close friends, Sherry, Barbara, Lemuel, Jackie, and Gloria; and devoted friend, Shawn Goodman of New Jersey. Edward F. Clouse
Edward F. Clouse, 77, of Akron, passed away Sunday, June 7, 1998, at the Hospice Care Center. He was born April 21, 1921, in Somerset. Mr. Clouse retired as an electrician from Goodyear Aerospace, having worked on the blimp and the electrical system of the hangar doors. He later was employed by Summit Plastics, from which he also retired. Mr. Clouse was a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Air Force, and a life member of V.F.W. Post 8975 and Moose Lodge 1082 in Mogadore. Survivors include his loving companion, Kay Lemmons; sister, Mary E. Swartz; brother, Lewis Raymond Clouse; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Farley Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. at Gilchrist, with Rev. Dallas R. Billington of Akron Baptist Temple officiating. Elizabeth Ann Conner
Elizabeth Ann Conner, 38, of Springfield Twp., went home to be with her Lord June 12, 1998. Elizabeth, a nurse at Cuyahoga Falls Country Place, was an area resident all her life. She was preceded in death by mother, Charlotte Hoskins, brother, Floyd Hoskins, and nephew, Little T. Elizabeth is survived by loving husband and best friend, Johnny; children, Cindy, Corey, and Christopher Fifer; stepsons, Kevin and Korey Conner; father, Floyd (Jackie) Hoskins; brothers, Dennis, William and Brian Hoskins; a very special grandson, Allexander Fifer; and many other loving relatives and friends. Michael J. Cook Sr.
Michael J. Cook, 80, formerly of Massillon, died Dec. 31, 1997, at his residence in Port Richey, Fla. He was born Aug. 6, 1917, in Youngstown, to the late Steve and Barbara Cook. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served during World War II. He was formerly a member of St. Mary Church of Massillon. He was a car enthusiast and an avid bowler. He was a general foreman at Goodyear Aerospace for 32 years and retired in 1973. Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, he is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Clark) Cook of Port Richey, Fla.; son, Michael Cook Jr. of Jackson Township; brothers, Frank and George Cook, both of Salem; sister, Mrs. Mary Stouffer; two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Heitger Funeral Service Jackson Chapel on Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at 6:30 p.m., Donald R. Oser, officiating clergy. Kenneth Cornell
Kenneth Cornell, 74, born May 20,1924 in Glen Falls, N.Y., died June 6, 1998 after a courageous battle with cancer. Ken served his country in World War II as an Air Force tech sergeant and was an upper turret gunner on a B17. After being shot down and taken prisoner of war in Germany for 18 months, he vowed never to fly again, a promise he broke only twice in 52 years. A lifelong auto mechanic, he relocated to Tampa, Fla. and retired from Wards in 1989. Ken enjoyed playing the organ, working on automobiles, drinking Manhattens, and the leisurely life of Florida, especially the sunshine and dog races. He was preceded in death by wife, Barbara; brother, Robert; sister, Thelma Byrski; and granddaughter, Meghan Mesenger. He is survived by his devoted wife of 19 years, Esther and will be deeply missed by his extended family, son, Clifford (Skip and Kathy) of Granville, N.Y.; daughter, Donna (Ray) Bernoit of Atlanta, Ga.; stepdaughter, Mary (Dave) Melton; stepsons, Dan, Mark (Kathy), Steve (Rea), Brian (Beth), Jeff (Michele), and Eric (Jamie) Mesenger. Nicholas (Nick) Corral Jr.
Nicholas (Nick) Corral Jr., 66, of Naples, Fla., formerly of Canal Fulton, died Saturday, June 6, 1998. Born March 5, 1932, in Rivesville, W. Va., he was a resident of Canal Fulton from 1959 to 1986 and, since 1986, was a resident of Naples, Fla. He retired from the Northwest Local School District after 27 years service, including the last 10 years as the principal of Northwest High School and, after moving to Naples, Fla., he was active in the Naples real estate business. A graduate of Fairmont State College in West Virginia, he had received a master's degree at the University of Akron, and was a member of the O.E.A., N.E.A., and the National Association of Secondary Principals, and of Kappa Sigma Kappa fraternity. Nick was a former member of the Canal Fulton Rotary Club and the Canal Fulton United Methodist Church, and served in the U. S. Air Force. Preceded in death by his parents, Nicolas and Raimunda Corral, he is survived by wife, Nancy Corral; daughter, Cathy Marie Corral of Atlanta, Ga.; son, John Nicolas Corral of Naples, Fla.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, John H. and Freda Belt Sr. of Fairmont, W. Va.; brothers, Edmund Corral Sr. of Lakeland, Fla., M. John Corral of Orlando, Fla.; sisters, Marguerite Gearde of Rivesville, W. Va., and Juanita Pallitto of New Jersey. A memorial service will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at the Canal Fulton United Methodist Church, 3636 W. Cherry St., with Rev. Charles Tobias and Greg Nettle officiating. BRIMFIELD -- June D. Cosentino, 66, of Duffield Road, died Monday, June 1, 1998, at Akron City Hospital. She was born July 24, 1931, in Tyrone, Pa., to Melvin and Virginia (Justice) Price. She previously attended the Living Water Fellowship and Word of His Grace. Survivors include her husband, Raymond, whom she married Oct. 7, 1948; son, Raymond Jr. of Lewistown, Pa.; daughters, Carolyn Eaton of Michigan, Sondra Lamb and Rae Jean Wilson, both of Akron; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; mother, Virginia Schilling of Huntingdon, Pa., and brother, Jesse Schilling of Huntington, Pa. Arlene L. Cozart
Arlene L. Cozart, 80, of Suffield, went to be with the Lord on Monday morning, June 8, 1998, following an extended illness. She was born June 17, 1917, in Smithfield, W. Va., daughter of Clem E. and Emma LaVerna Brewer. She and her husband moved to Ohio in 1950. She will be remembered by her family as a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her devoted husband, C. Allen, with whom she would have celebrated 56 years of marriage on June 21; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Aleta Cozart of Suffield; daughters and sons-in-law, Emily and Joseph Salvatore of Libertyville, Ill., and Michele and Arthur Fach of East Canton; grandchildren, Cindy and Chris Cozart, Mindy, Kenneth, David, Amy, Michael, and Molly Salvatore, and Gregory and Elizabeth Fach. Penny G. Croft, age 51, born Feb. 17, 1947, in Nashwauk, Minn., passed away June 12, 1998. She was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church in Boardman. Survivors include her husband, Loy R. Cross; children, Diane Vukovich, Ph.D., of Akron, and Reni Morey of Harrison, N.
