William T. Mizen Jr.

William T. Mizen Jr., 83, 253 Union St., died at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 1998, in Autumnwood Care Center.
He was born in Tiffin, Dec. 30, 1914, to William T. Sr. and Viola (Bowers) Mizen. On April 9, 1939, in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, he married Florence Smith. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, William T. III and Thomas E. Mizen, both of Tiffin; eight daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Elizabeth) Agerter, Mrs. Ted (Diana) Distel and Mrs. Joe (Debora) Kubes, all of Tiffin, Mrs. Roger (Evelyn) Dearsman of Green Springs, Carolyn Mizen of Springfield, Mrs. Steven (Nancy) Baker of Danville, Mrs. Harold (Mary Lou) Powell of Union City, Pa. and Mrs. Willie (Shirley) Frazier of Wharton; a brother, Eugene Mizen of Tiffin; 23 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were three brothers, Albert, John and Thomas Mizen; two sisters, Margaret Eisenhard and Laverne Hull; and a grandchild.
Mr. Mizen, a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, retired in 1979 as a caster from the American Standard, after 42 years of employment.
He was a member of Eagles Aerie 402 and during the 1930s the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Services in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home will be 1 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Gail Angel officiating. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where Eagles services will be at 7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the American Cancer Society, Community Hospice Care or the donor's choice.
Wilma L. Lanker
Former supermarket employee
Wilma L. Lanker, 85, of West Culbertson St., Fostoria, died in the Independence House, Fostoria, at 8:57 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 1998.
She was born in Arcadia, Aug. 20, 1912, to Nicholas and Goldie (Roller) Fox. Her husband, Forest Lanker, whom she married April 24, 1940, in Bloomdale, is deceased.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Glen (Janice) Piper of McComb and Mrs. Norbert (Lona) Collet of Fostoria; a brother, Roller Fox of Fostoria; a sister, Mrs. Leola Myers of Findlay; and eight grandchildren.
A brother, Irvin Fox, also is deceased.
Mrs. Lanker, a graduate of Arcadia High School, had been employed as a clerk in the meat department at the White Front Super Market (now Lewis IGA) in Fostoria, where she worked for 20 years.
She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, Fostoria and the Fostoria Women's Club.
The Rev. Jeffrey Waite will officiate at the 1 p.m. Saturday service in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia.
Visitation at the funeral home will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.

Lucas Allen Levering
Excavating company employee
Lucas Allen Levering, 19, of 14266 TH 96, Upper Sandusky, where he resided all his life, died at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 1998, following a construction site accident on SR 12, west of Fostoria.
He was born in Marion, June 17, 1979, the son of Mark E. and Darlene M. (Moore) Levering. They survive in rural Upper Sandusky.
Survivors also include: maternal grandparents, Basil and Mary Jane Moore of McCutchenville; paternal grandparents, John and Elfreda Layne of Upper Sandusky and James and Joetta Levering of Marion; great-grandmothers, Helen Moore of Upper Sandusky and Ruth Mustard of Bucyrus; and two siblings, Marcus F. and Matthew S., both at home.
While attending high school Mr. Levering was employed at Wilson's Tires and battery in Upper Sandusky; later at Guardian Industries in Upper Sandusky and for the past year at the J.D.R. Excavating Co., Findlay.
A 1997 Upper Sandusky High School graduate, while in high school he was active in FFA and the Youth to Youth Club. He also played Midget League Football and wrestled in junior high and his freshman year.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiles and had a special love for the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and swimming.
Services in the Bringman-Clark and Company Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. E.B. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Rowland Cemetery, rural Upper Sandusky.
Visitation at the funeral home is 5-9 p.m. today.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Kenneth Gillett, 78, of 213 N. Main St., Attica, died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at the Quality Care Nursing Home, Willard, following an illness of several months. Arrangements are pending at the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 SR 19, Bloomville.
Daniel N. Bianchi
Mohawk High School student
Daniel N. Bianchi, 14, died at 4:30 p.m. Monday, June 22, 1998, at his home at 7971 CH 5, McCutchenville.
He was born in Upper Sandusky, Sept. 27, 1983, the son of Jack and Darlene (Slavey) Bianchi. They survive in rural McCutchenville.
Other survivors include: maternal grandparents, Robert and Sharon Slavey Sr. of Sycamore; maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Evelyn Stewart of rural Sycamore; maternal great-great-grandmother, Mrs. Crystal Bogard of Upper Sandusky; maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Jane Slavey of Upper Sandusky; and five siblings, Jack M. Bianchi of Upper Sandusky, Melody, Sarah and Samuel Bianchi and Bobby Slavey, all at home.
A student at Mohawk High School, where he would have been a freshman, Daniel attended Harvest Time Chapel in Vanlue.
He was a former player in the Upper Sandusky Midget football league and he liked to fish in his spare time.
Services in Harvest Time Chapel, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Bob Turner officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore.
Visitation at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Memorials may be made to the family, in care of the Walton-Moore Funeral Home.
Charles E. Dewald
Worthington Plastics employee
Charles E. Dewald, 48, 88 Elwood St., died at 1:31 p.m. Monday, June 22, 1998, in the Emergency Care Center of Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
He was born Oct. 3, 1949, in Tiffin, to the late Herman and Ruth (Todd) Dewald.
Survivors include: two brothers, Ulysses Todd of Tiffin and Richard Dewald of Sandusky.
A brother, David A. Dewald, preceded him in death.
Mr. Dewald, a former member of the Avenger's Motorcycle Club, was employed as a forklift operator for 10 years at Worthington Custom Plastics in Upper Sandusky.
The Rev. John Teeters will conduct the 10 a.m. Friday service in the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Colleen L. Benner
Former Tiffin resident
Word has been received of the death of Colleen L. Benner, 70, formerly of rural Tiffin, who died Friday, June 12, 1998, at her home at 971 Feather Drive, Box 4, Copperopolis, Calif., 95228.
She was born in Tiffin, May 28, 1928, to the late Wesley and Mable Shumway Jr. On July 13, 1946, she married Thomas C. Benner, who survives in Copperopolis.
Other survivors include a son Tim Benner of Copperopolis; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas F. (Patricia) Young of Upper Sandusky; two brothers Gerald Shumway of Mt. Blanchard and Joe Shumway of Green Springs; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Benner, a homemaker, was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.
Interment was in Angel Camp, California.

Leo Mack of Tiffin, died at 9:36 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 1998, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin. Arrangements are pending at the Golubski Funeral Home of Cleveland.
