F. Evelyn Gorsuch, 88, formerly of 179 Huss St., died at 4 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 1998, in St. Catherine Care Center of Tiffin, 2320 W. Seneca CR 6, where she resided.
She was born in Upper Sandusky, Jan. 16, 1910, to Godfrey and Dora (Needs) Martig. On Dec. 24, 1929, in Upper Sandusky, she married Dwight L. Gorsuch. He died Aug. 15, 1991.
Surviving are a son, Paul F. Gorsuch of Shelby Township, Mich.; two daughters, Ruth Ann Gorsuch and Mrs. Richard (Martha) Schultz, both of Tiffin; four grandchildren, Jean, Mary, Dean and Diane; and two great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Clair F. and Floyd A. Martig, are deceased.
A high school graduate, Mrs. Gorsuch was a homemaker and member of the First Lutheran Church.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. John S. Ferne officiating. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the Deats Room at the First Lutheran Church. Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund or St. Catherine's Care Center of Tiffin.
Muriel H. Nordlund
Retired Hopewell-Loudon teacher
Muriel H. Nordlund, 97, formerly of Walnut Street, Fostoria, died at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 1998, in the Independence House, Fostoria, where she resided.
She was born July 9, 1900, in Centerville, S.D., to Holly James and Mary Myrtle (Greene) Hornbeck. Her husband, the Rev. Ralph T. Nordlund, whom she married Jan. 12, 1926, in Chicago, Ill, died April 24, 1973.
Surviving are a son, Ralph H. Nordlund of Charleston, S.C.; a daughter, Mrs.Raymond (Marilyn) Burk of Fostoria; a sister, Arabella Boyer of Newport News, Va.; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, Holly L. and Meredith Hornbeck; and a sister, Mercy Zimmerman.
Mrs. Nordlund taught English and Latin in the Hopewell-Loudon School System, retiring in 1969. She had previously taught in Lennox and DeSmet, S.D. and Raleigh County, V.Va.
A 1919 graduate of Centerville High School, Centerville, S.C. and a 1922 graduate of Sioux Falls College, Sioux Falls, S.D. with a bachelor's degree, she did her post graduate work at Beckley College, Beckley, Va. and Findlay College.
She was a member of the Fostoria Baptist Church, its Mary Martha Missionary Circle and taught the Welcome Class in Sunday School.
She also was a member of the Ohio Retired Teacher's Associaton and the Arcadia Ohio Senior Citizens at the Shepherd Center in Fostoria.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. David Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation is 7-9 p.m. today and 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Fostoria Baptist Church or the Open Bible Baptist Church, Beckley, W.Va.

Janice N. Beardsley

Janice N. Beardsley, 78, of 1469 Eastshore Drive, Findlay, died at 5:22 a.m. Monday, June 8, 1998, in Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.
She was born in Bloomville, Feb. 25, 1920, to Royal A. and Gladys (Firestone) Ballfinch. On Dec. 22, 1954, she married Charles G. Beardsley and he preceded her in death March 5, 1995.
Surviving are a step-son, Gary Beardsley of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, S. Jean Honse of Findlay; three step-daughters, Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Jensen of Oceanside, Calif., Mrs. Kathy Iverson of Phoenix, Ariz. and Joan Beardsley of San Diego; five grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and a sister, also preceded her in death.
A member of Trinity Baptist Church, Mrs. Beardsley was a retired practical nurse.
Services in the Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Gene Milioni officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation at the funeral home is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today.

Norine M. Wurm, 91, formerly of 255 Gross St., died at 6:30 a.m. Monday, June 8, 1998, in St. Francis Home, Tiffin, where she resided. Arrangements are pending at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.
Russell J. Brunover
Conrail Railroad retiree
Former Tiffin resident, Russell J. Brunover, 79, died at 10:50 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 1998, in the Ohio Veteran's Home, Sandusky, where he had resided since December 1993.
He was born in Bay Bridge, Ohio, July 15, 1918, to Jacob and Emma (Manskey) Krafty. His wife, Evelyn M. (Conkey) Brunover, is deceased.
Survivors include: a daughter, Patricia Wurm of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two grandchildren Stephen Schiffler of Gray Town and Becky Brown of Toledo and three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Brunover of Fremont.
Mr. Brunover, a graduate of Fremont High School, retired from the Con Rail Railroad in 1978.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served as a sergeant of Troop B 86th Calvary Reconnaissance (3rd Armored Division) in Normandy, France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He received a good conduct medal, Legion of Merit, Service medal with five bronze stars and three purple hearts.
He also was active, for many years, as an advisor in the Seneca County 4-Hhorse program.
There will be no services. Private burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.

Margaret Gottwald

Margaret Gottwald, 86, of 6481 SR 100, Sycamore, died at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 1998, at the home of her granddaughter, Lorie Frost.
She was born May 19, 1912, in Lorain, to Julus and Martha (Bernitsky) Hartman. Her husband, Fred Frank Gottwald, whom she married Aug. 28, 1933, in Cleveland, died Nov. 15, 1977.
Surviving are a son, Richard Gottwald of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a daughter, Helen Gibson of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a son, Raymond Gottwald, who died in 1995; five brothers, Harold, Pete, Henry, Paul and Arthur Hartman; and five sisters, Hazel Gottwald, Edith Dietrich, Clara O'Connor, Loretta Babics and Lillian Grubbs.
A homemaker, Mrs. Gottwald was a member of the Evangelical Faith Fellowship.
Formerly of Old Fort and Tiffin, she had resided at her present residence for five years.
The Rev. Tim Grimes will officiate at the 1:30 p.m. Thursday service in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort.
Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
