Betty Jean Kelly

Betty Jean Kelly, 57, of Eaglewood Care Center, Carey, died in the emergency room at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 1998.
She was born in Carey, May 6, 1941, to Frank M. and Nancy J. (Wells) Puchta. Her father survives in Carey. She first married Earl Arthur Gault Jr. and he died in 1976. Her second husband, Carl F. Kelly, whom she married Aug. 28,1976, died Dec. 23, 1992.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Gault of Carey and Keith Gault of Fostoria; a step-son, Shawn Kelly of Dayton; nine step-daughters, Kathy Moran, Carol Barnett, Paula Thompson and Pam Biddle, all of Carey, Teri Compton of Beverly, Ohio, Tina Murphy of Marion, Cynthia Delbridge of Ruskin, Fla., Christian Kelly of Sarasota, Fla. and Carrie Hill of Miami, Fla.; two grandchildren, 15 step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Carol Porter, Mrs. Pete (Sharon) Niederkohr and Mrs. Steve (Connie) Stapley, all of Carey; and a brother, Jim Puchta of Findlay.
Her mother is deceased.
Mrs. Kelly, a 1959 Carey High School graduate and a graduate of Toledo Academy of Hair, was employed as a supervisor at Bell Department Store in Ruskin, Fla. and as a notary public, also in Florida.
A member of the Methodist Faith, she also was a member of Palmetto Lodge 2117 Loyal Order of Moose and the Auxiliary of Earl Green Post 344 American Legion, Carey.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the Stombaugh Memorial Funeral Home, Carey. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey.
Visitation at the funeral home is 6-9 p.m. today.

John J. "Whistler" Cook

John J. "Whistler" Cook, 55, 1473 W. Continental St., died at 1 a.m. Monday, June 1, 1998, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin, following a sudden illness.
He was born in Fostoria, Jan. 4, 1943, to the late Clow H. and Mary V. (Keller) Cook. On July 21, 1962, he married Phyllis Myers, and they were divorced. His companion, Nancy Englehart, survives at the residence.
Other survivors include: a son, Thomas E. Cook of rural Sycamore; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Franklin (Geneva) Smith of Sycamore; and two brothers, Norman O. Cook Sr. of rural Tiffin and Paul T. Cook of Sycamore.
Preceding him in death were five brothers, Dick, Bob, Bill and Merle Cook and Jim Wolfe.
A member of the Protestant Faith, Mr. Cook was employed as a machinist at the National Machinery.
An avid CB'er and fisherman, he was a member of Tiffin Moose Lodge 846 and the National Machinery Quarter Century Club.
Services in the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. David Powell officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore.
Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to the Seneca County Heart Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
Margaret Ann Eberly

Margaret Ann Eberly, 82, died Sunday, May 31, 1998, at her home at 2036 N. Fifth St., Fremont.
She was born in Bellevue, July 21, 1915, to Thomas and Amanda (Smith) McMahon. On June 17, 1944, in Holy Angles Church, Sandusky, she married Edgar J. Eberly. He survives in Fremont.
Other survives include: two daughters, Marcia Carey of Hampshire, Ill. and Cathy Eberly of Lexington, Mass; a son, Martin Eberly of Fremont; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, George McMahon of Monroeville; and a sister, Catherine Widner of Bellevue.
Preceding her in death were a sister, Mary Helen Moore; and a brother, Eugene McMahon.
A 1936 graduate of St. Vincent's School of Nursing, Toledo, Mrs. Eberly retired in 1981 from Whirlpool Corp., where she had been employed as an industrial registered nurse. She also had done private duty nursing in Fremont.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont; the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament, Croghan Garden Club, Elks Emblem Club, Ladies of the Moose, Can-Do Farm Women's Club, St. Joe Booster Club, Catholic Knights of Ohio, the Northwest Ohio Nurses Association and the Catholic Nurses Association.
A funeral Mass in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation at the Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, Fremont, will be 2-9 p.m. Wednesday, where a Wake service will be at 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont or St. Joe Central Catholic High School Science and Computer Labs.

Graveside services for Dennis L. Le Jeune, 56, 49 Longfellow Drive, who died Friday morning, May 29, 1998, in St. Francis Home, Tiffin, will be 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Attica-Venice Cemetery. The Rev. Jan Kucera of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Tiffin, will officiate.

Malcolm Doyle 'Pete' Drown

Malcolm Doyle "Pete" Drown, 81, of 400 S. Buchanon, Fremont, died in the Toledo Hospital, Wednesday, April 29, 1998.
He was born in Ballville Township, Dec. 27, 1916, to Enos and Zula (Sheidler) Drown. On Jan. 19, 1937, in Old Fort, he married Margaret Gillmor. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Dennis of Walbridge and Stephen of Port Clinton; two daughters, Donna Shoemaker of Fremont and Shirley Oliver of Hackleburg, Ala.; two sisters, Betty Braley of Fremont and Phyllis Ward of Green Springs; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A sister, Elsie Joseph, preceded him in death.
Mr. Drown, a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and the Moose Lodge, both in Fremont, retired in 1974 from Matlack Co., Toledo.
Services in Memorial United Methodist Church will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Joan Moore officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Visitation at the Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, Fremont, will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.

Mary Heller, 104, formerly of Tiffin, died Friday, April 24, 1998.
She was born Dec. 15, 1893, in Melmore and was educated in Tiffin, before moving to Green Springs in 1915.
Green Springs United Methodist Church, 117 N. Broadway (SR 19), will conduct memorial services, open to the public, at 7 p.m. Friday.

Mark Andrew Kuenzli

Mark Andrew Kuenzli, 37, of Bucyrus, was found dead Tuesday, April 28, at Outhwaite Reservoir, Bucyrus, following an apparent drowning April 8, 1998, during a fishing outing.
He was born Feb. 23, 1961, in Upper Sandusky, to Glenn A. and Linda S. Baldridge Kuenzli. His father and step-mother Jana, survives in Nevada and his mother survives in Houston, Texas.
Survivors also include: his fiance, Elaine (Kim) Kaple of Bucyrus; a son and daughter, Andrew Jacob and Amanda Sue; and a sister, Pamela Jones of Gilmer, Texas.
A 1979 graduate of Wynford High School, Mr. Kuenzli worked at Timken Company in Bucyrus for the past 10 years and also trained and drove standard-bred race horses in Bucyrus.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, rural Upper Sandusky; the United States Trotting Association and the Ohio Harness Horseman.
The Rev. Lon McSherley will conduct the 1:30 p.m. Saturday service in the Lucas Funeral Home, Nevada. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
