A white hair urchin lay on hard street asleep last Sat. nite. After being
awakened and questioned, he said his name was FITCH or FRITZ and was trying
to get to Pittsburgh, where he had a brother and that his home was
Portsmouth, his parents living near the old hub factory.

He was 83 years of age, and one of the oldest native residents of Lawrence
County, having been born in Burlington, Ohio 93 (says 83 above and 93 here?)
years ago last January. Major Davidson was a hero and veteran of the Civil
War. He had been a post master of the city of Ironton, member of the City
Council, the Board of Education, Sinking Fund Trustees, and for many years
was Commander of the Dick Lambert Post G. A. R. He was also a mason

Died Oct 9, 1869 at the residence of her son-in-law, Isaac BROWN, Jackson,
OH. She was the widow of Esq. Robert RICHEY, late of this county. She was 75
yrs and a resident of this county for about 30 yrs. Was a sister of late
Robert HAMILTON of Hanging Rock and mother-in-law of Mrs. H.B. RICHEY of
this city. Burial in Kelly's Cem. yesterday.

April 6, 1991, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be
conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, W.Va. by the Rev.
Charles Christian. Burial will be in Bias Chapel Cemetery, near Milton. He
was born Nov. 21, 1926, in Huntington, a son of the late Floyd and Lulu
Williams Edmunds. He was a retired employe with Huntington Alloys, and was a
veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army. Surviving are his wife,
Juanita B. Edmunds; one brother, Mickey Edmunds of Milton; three half
sisters, Joan Webb of Logan, Willa Mae Ratcliff of Milton and Rosa Scarberry
of Salt Rock, W.Va.; two half brothers, Richard Webb of Oklahoma, and
William Webb of Ona, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

LEARY, DENNIS - IRONTON REGISTER FEB. 16, 1860
An Irishman named Dennis Leary, was run over and instantly killed on
Saturday last, by a freight train on the M. & C. R. R., near the McArthur
Station. The deceased was lying on the track as the train came up, and was
not observed until too late to prevent the accident. McArthur Democrat.

Georgia Drury Ankrim, wife of Jno. H. Ankrim died at her home near
Burlington, O., Thursday.. The deceased was the youngest daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Lawson Drury. Besides the husband three little ones, Margaret, Marshall
and Grace, she is survived by her mother and the following brothers and
sisters: Frank Drury and Mrs. Oliver Chafin of Newport, Ky., Mrs. Henry
Kouns, Miss Addie and Hugh Drury of Sybene and Mrs. L. G. Shute of
Burlington.

Died - Robt. H. Yingling, aged 44 years, died at Hanging Rock, his native
place, Sept. 25, of typhoid fever. Buried family burying grounds. For many
years the deceased had been in mercantile business at the Rock.
