yrs old and stands 6'1", measures around the shoulders 3' 11" and 41" around
the chest, 42" around the hips, weighs 188# and wears #10 boot.
CRIPPLE, JAMES - M. I. MARCH 22, 1910
Funeral of Mr. Cripple was held Sunday Afternoon - at his late home on the
corner of Eighth St. and Neal Avenue. Buried back of Ashland. Mr. Cripple
was 45 years of age and was an employee of Etna Furnace. He was married and
is survived by his wife and six children. Two brothers and four sisters
survive the deceased. Died from the effects of an abscess in his head.
TRUMBO, SARAH EUGENIA - IRONTON REGISTER JAN. 19, 1860
Died on Jan. 5th, in Millersport, of Pneumonia, Sarah Eugenia, daughter of
Dr. G. W. and Fannie Trumbo, aged 2 months and 22 days.

FREEMAN, DURWARD N. - ?????
79, of South Point, Ohio, died yesterday at a Huntington Hospital. Funeral
services will be conducted tomorrow at 3 p.m. at Snyder (Schneider) Funeral
Home at Chesapeake, Ohio, by Minister Justice Hesson and Jerry Holman.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens at South Point, Ohio. He was
born Feb. 28, 1894, in South Point, Ohio, a son of the late George and Dora
Bowman Freeman. He was a U.S. Mail carrier from 1918 to 1952. He was a
charter member of the South Point Church of Christ and served as an elder
there for the past several years. Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Elsie
Kinder Freeman; three sons Bernard, Milton and Wendell Freeman all of South
Point, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Audrey Hamrick of Bidwell, Ohio; two brothers,
Glendon and Conrad Freeman, both of South Point, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and
3 great grandchildren. One granddaughter preceded him in death. Friends may
call at funeral home after 6 p.m. today.

Another Accident - A Mr. George Petit, was killed in an Ore Bank, near Cross
Roads, in this county, on Wednesday, 26th of September. He leaves a wife and
family, living near French Grant - Jackson Standard.
DAVIDSON, JAMES - IRONTON REGISTER JAN. 10, 1895
James Davidson, who died Dec. 27th, 1894, was the grandson of William
Davidson, who was born in 1747 and came to South Point in 1799, settling
first for a short time at what is now Catlettsburg (KY). He died in 1811 and
was buried at South Point. He came there with his second wife, Barbara, by
keelboat, from Red Stone, Fayette Co., Pennsylvania. The father of James
Davidson, John Davidson, was by Wm. Davidson's first wife, Rosanna
Hutchison, and came to what is now Lawrence Co., O., in the Summer of 1801,
from Red Stone, Fayette Co., Pa. James was then three months old. John
Davidson died at Burlington in 1828. His wife, Margaret Armstrong, also died
at Burlington, in 1822. John and Margaret settled with their family in 1801
on the land owned by James Davidson at his death and where he had resided
from about June, 1801 till the day of his death. James Davidson was the last
of his family there having been Sarah, who married Thos. Kerr; William, who
married Hannah Pancake; James who married Mary Frances Combs, John who
married Ruth Bryson; Mary, who married (a) Shryhock; Joseph who married
Maria Thomas; Jeremiah who married Eliza Corum. He, James Davidson, was a
member of the M. E. Church when he married, Jan. 25, 1829.

SANDERS, JOHN G. - IRONTON DAILY REGISTER Jan. 8, 1909
One of the best known and most highly respected residents of the South Side,
residing at Sixth and Scott avenue, answered death's call Sat. shortly after
the noon hour after an illness of very short duration due to heart failure.
The deceased was sixty-eight years of age, was born in Amsterdam, Holland
and came to this country when quite young, his parents locating in
Pittsburgh, PA. After this, the family moved to Hanging Rock, and lived part
of the time near Center and Lawrence Furnace. The deceased was twenty-six
years, a resident of Ironton and operated a grocery store at Sixth and Scott
avenue at the time of his death. He was married twice, his second wife
having died sixteen years ago. Nine children, as follows survive his loss:
Matthew of Pollard, KY; Everett, Simon, John, Edward and Fred ex-policeman
of Ironton, Mrs. Anna AMOS of Pittsburg and Mrs. J.H. SMITH of Hanford, Cal.
Interment took place in Woodland cemetery. The deceased is an uncle of Henry
SANDERS, employed at the Register office.

SAVAGE, JOSEPH - IRONTON REGISTER MARCH 3, 1892
Joseph Savage, a well known citizen of Kentucky, who lived on a farm,
opposite Hanging Rock, was run over by a C. & O. train, last Sunday night.
He had been at Greenup and was returning home, when he sat down on the
track, and went to sleep. The cars came thundering along and struck him,
killing him instantly. He was a man of family.

Maud Ethel Jacks, daughter of L. D. and Sara Jacks, was born June 24, 1889,
died Feb. 1, 1890, aged 7 mon. 10 days. Remains interred in the Marion
cemetery.
MILLER, ROBERT B. - SEMI WEEKLY IRONTONIAN Jan. 10, 1908
Born on his father's farm at Millersport, Lawrence county, Ohio, June 22
1859. He died at his home in Ironton, Ohio Dec. 29, 1907. He was the son of
Andrew & Elizabeth MILLER and grew up surrounded by the vine clad hills of
Lawrence county. His father was a man of sterling quality and decisive
character, and realized the advantages of an education for his children and
to this end, it seems he devoted a great share of his life. Robert MILLER
was sent to the village schools until he was old enough, when he was sent to
Delaware college, and was graduated from that institution of learning in the
year 1885. During his attendance at this college, to a large degree, but his
own personal efforts, earned his way, and paid a large portion of his
expense at this institution. After leaving Delaware, he taught school in
Lawrence county. He entered the law school of Cincinnati and graduated about
the year 1887 and was immediately admitted to the bar and began his practice
in this city, forming a partnership with Attorney Julius L. ANDERSON. ON May
4, 1888, he was married to Miss Sarah E. WILSON, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
John G. WILSON of Burlington, Ohio and of this union there were four
children born who are living to mourn the loss of their father. He was
elected City Solicitor of the City of Ironton, 1889 and served two terms,
being re-elected in 1893, he was elected Prosecuting Attorney of the county
and served two terms, three years each. ......

Church, and wife of E. H. Oakes; aged 36.
SPAULDING, DR. A. G. - IRONTON REGISTER DEC. 26, 1878
Dr. A. G. Spaulding, of Greenup, died at his home last Friday morning. He
was an able physician. He was about 60 years of age. His practice was
extensive.
