DRURY, HUGH - SEMI WEEKLY IRONTONIAN DEC. 24, 1907
Mr. Hugh Drury of Burlington, who recently went to a New Jersey Health
Resort endeavoring to regain his strength, died in that state day before
yesterday. Mr. Drury was a brother in law of Henry Koontz (Kouns), one of
the most prominent farmers of Lawrence county, and from his residence the
funeral was held. The burial was in the cemetery at Burlington.

Jan.8, 1908 - Dec. 29, 1993 - South Point - Albert L. Freeman, 83, of South
Point, died Wednesday at his residence after an extended illness. The South
Point native was born Jan. 8, 1908, the son of the late Kyle Freeman of
(and) Mary Legg Freeman. He was the husband of the late Anna Frances
Netherly Freeman. He was a retired employee of the Allied Chemical Corp. and
a member of the First Baptist Church in South Point. Survivors include four
daughters, Thelma McComas of South Point, Doris Reyes of Alamogordo, NM,
Marietta "Sam" Roevers of Prior Lake, Minn. and Linda Uterly of Ashland, KY;
two sons, Gary Freeman and Dale Freeman, both of South Point; one sister,
Belle Maynard of Ironton; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be Sunday at 2 pm at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home, with the Rev.
Tom Swartzwelder officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens in
South Point. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
GILLEN, WILLIAM - IRONTON REGISTER FEB. 1, 1906
William Gillen, a well known citizen of Coal Grove, died at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. Susan McKnight, Wednesday, aged 88 years and 11 months. Death
due to old age. Joseph Gillen of Ironton and George Gillen of Portsmouth are
his surviving brothers. His surviving children are: Mrs. Alf Lambert of Coal
Grove and Vinson, living in the west. He was a veteran of the civil war,
being a member of Co. I, Fourth W Va. Infantry.

Mrs. Leibler, of Hecla, mother of Mrs. Margaret Corn, of this city, was
burned so badly yesterday morning that she died about 1 o'clock. .. She
lives alone, but about 100 yards from her son-in-law, Henry Hall and was
alone at the time of the accident.

clothier, age 48 years.
MILLER, IDA A. - IET OCT. 3, 1927
Ida A. Miller, widow of the late A. U. Miller, died at her home at Fourth
and Lawrence streets Sunday evening, after an extended illness. She was 65
years old. Mrs. Miller resided at Fourth and Lawrence with her son and had
been ill for some time. Burial in Sugar Creek cemetery.
REAGAN, DAN - IRONTON REGISTER JUNE 15, 1899
Last Thursday afternoon, as the accommodation train on the C. H. & D. was
coming down the grade this side of tunnel No. 3, it jumped the track and
flopped over with its wheels sticking in the air. But the sad part about it
was that Dan Reagan, the popular engineer, for many years connected with the
road, was caught some way in the wreck and was crushed and scalded to death.
He was the only fatality. His wife was Miss Sarah Davlin, the eldest
daughter of Mrs. Mary Devlin of Wellston. They have three children, one a
baby only 10 days old.
