Accident in a Coal Bank - A Mr. R. Morgan, a Welshman, was killed instantly
by the falling of Slate in the Coal Bank of Isaac Brown, near this place, on
Friday last. Mr. M. was a young man about 23 years of age. He leaves a
married sister living in Pittsburgh, PA., name unknown, who it is thought
could attend his effects.
DILLON, MRS. WILLIAM - IRONTON REGISTER AUG. 14, 1884
The wife of Wm. Dillon died of cancer, and was buried last Thursday, near
Platform. She had been to Cincinnati for treatment, but the operation seemed
only to aggravate the disease, which finally resulted in her death.

Meigs Co. for many years, Auditor, Sheriff, Representative, Senator,
Treasurer, and Clerk.

the Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Saturday at Hall Funeral Home by the Rev. Okla Judd. Burial will be in
Perkins Ridge Cemetery. She was born June 4, 1900 in Lawrence County, Ohio,
a daughter of the late James and Sarah Freeman Murnahan (Freeman). She was
preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Jackson Clark; a daughter, Bernice
Clark, and one son, James Arno Clark. She is survived by a son, Julia J.
Clark of Proctorville; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a
sister, Mollie Ward of Kenova, W.Va.; and a dear friend and cousin, Stella
Barry (Berry) of Proctorville. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday at Hall
Funeral Home.

hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday 2 p.m. at Union United
Brethren Church at Proctorville, Ohio by the Rev. Orville Carrico & Rev.
Charles Christian. Burial will be in the Getaway Cemetery, Getaway, Ohio.
The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services. She was
born Jan. 27, 1907 in Lawrence County Ohio, a daughter of the late Cecil &
Lizzie Wepler Keeney. She was a member of the Union United Brethren Church.
Survivors include the husband Alden Freeman: four daughters, Mrs. Bernice
Crawford, of South Point, Ohio. Mrs. Betty Caldwell, of South Point, Ohio,
Mrs. Dixie Sites, of Chesapeake, Ohio, Mrs. Pauline Adkins of Willowood,

Ohio, Paul Freeman, of Chesapeake, Ohio, Colan Freeman, of South Point,
Ohio, William Freeman, of Willowood, Ohio; twenty grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Venus Lake, Mrs. Mary Leffingwell,

MORGAN, STEPHEN - IRONTON JOURNAL 8 Feb. 1871
The proprietor of a valuable farm, what is known as Mulga Creek, near Olive
Furnace, committed suicide by shooting himself in the mouth with a revolver
last Fri. Morning. He lived only five minutes. Last Aug, Mr. Morgan made an
unsuccessful attempt to kill himself by cutting his throat with a razor.

Ida Notes - Lulu, the 3 yr. Old daughter of Birk Morris, was so badly burned
last Thursday that death resulted late that night.
MOSELY, MRS. ALMIRA - IRONTON REGISTER AUG. 9, 1900
Victim of Morphine Habit - Mrs. Almira J. Mosely, wife of Fred Mosely, died
Sunday at her home corner of Walnut and Front streets, aged about 47 years.
Coroner Ellison was summoned, and after an examination decided that the
deceased had come to her death "from inebriety and the excessive use of
morphine." However, the case was not one of suicide. The deceased leaves a
husband but no children. Before her marriage to Mr. Moseley she was the
widow of John McMillan, who will be remembered as a veteran hack driver on
the old Ironton and Ashland line. In her younger days she was a remarkably
handsome woman.
