FREEMAN, JAMES L. - ?????
86, of Miami, WV, died at 12 p.m. Friday at the home of a son, Howard W.
Freeman, 3737 1/2 Gallia St., New Boston, Ohio. He had been ill four months.
Born Feb. 4, 1874, at Chesapeake, Ohio, he was a son of the late Isaac and
Rebecca Moore (Foreman) Freeman. Surviving are two other sons, Elmer J. of
New Boston, William H. of Coalfork, WV; three daughters, Mrs. Bertha A.
Steed, 3164 Gallia St, New Boston, Mrs. Hazel Talbott of Charleston, WV,
Mrs. Marion Seagraves of Miami, WV, and a sister, Mrs. Hilda (Hulda) Henson
of Getaway, Ohio. Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his parents, his
wife, Sarah Farris Freeman, four sisters, four sons, three daughters and two
brothers. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Miami, WV.
Funeral services are to be at Pomaria Baptist Church at Chesapeake with the
Rev. William Lee officiating. Burial is to be in the church cemetery under
direction of Pennington - Sowards Funeral Home. Friends may call at the home
of a daughter, Mrs. Bertha A. Steed, 3164 Gallia St., New Boston, Ohio,
after 7 tonight.

McCORMICK, W. H. - IRONTON REGISTER AUG. 9, 1900
W. H. McCormick, one of the pioneer citizens of Gallipolis, died at his home
at Columbus, O., yesterday in his seventy-sixth year of his age. He has been
a liveryman in Gallipolis for years, and has owned the Transfer between
Ferry and Gallipolis ever since the building of the Ohio River railroad.

Died Nov. 26, 1882 of Texas Hollow.

SMITH, MRS. RUTH - IRONTON REGISTER APR. 20, 1870
Died in Ironton, April 11th, Mrs. Ruth Smith. Aged 83 years.

SPENCE, MRS. - IRONTON REGISTER Jan. 19, 1882
Died last Friday. Native of Va. 63yrs old. Buried Vesuvius Station Cemetery.

SPRADLING, EMILY JANE - IRONTON JOURNAL Nov. 3, 1869
Died Oct. 22. Widow of late Thos. and d/o Daniel & Mary UNRUE. Leaves a
little son. 26y 5m 22d.

GARDNER, MISS MARY ALICE - IRONTON REGISTER Mar. 30, 1882
Born Oct. 8, 1857 in Hancock Co, ILL; died Mar. 18, 1882 at her home in Quaker
Bottom.

GARRISON, SAMUEL H. - IRONTON REGISTER JAN. 19, 1860
Died on Jan. 5th, at the residence of his father in Bowling Green, Ky.,
Samuel H. Garrison. - He was a graduate of Marietta College in 1856, read
law with Mills and Hoadley, Cincinnati, and last Fall associated himself
with W. C. Ireland, at Greenupsburg, Ky., in the practice of law. He was a
young man of great promise and much esteemed by numerous friends.

Died Feb. 23, 1880. Taken to Gallipolis.

FISHER, THOMAS - IRONTON REGISTER Feb. 26, 1880
Died Feb. 19, 1880. Son of Thomas & Jane Fisher. 19yrs. old.

FORGEY, W.S. - IRONTON REGISTER Dec. 16, 1880

FOX, FRANK, SR. - IRONTON JOURNAL 30 Aug. 1871
A German, living on Joseph Gilland's farm, on the old Hecla Rd, about 1 mile
from town, hung himself in the stable loft during the absence of his wife
and family, last Friday afternoon. Before he committed the act, he wrote:
"This world is full of trouble, and I have had enough of trouble, and I am
about to end it. Goodbye, dear wife and friends." He was about 53 yrs. old.
He had been a steady but not an excessive drinker, and has freq. threatened
during the last 6 months to take his life.

DOTY, THOMAS - IRONTON REGISTER Sept. 13, 1900
Manager of Ohio Furnace Lands was injured Tuesday evening in a tram-car
collision. Buried at Woodland Cem.

DOUGHERTY, WILLIAM - IRONTON REGISTER Oct. 27, 1881
Killed at New Castle coal mines, falling rock accident. 40yrs old.

DOWLIN, MRS. BRIDGET - IRONTON REGISTER Dec. 7, 1882
Died Nov. 30, 1882. 70yrs old.

DRURY, BENJAMIN - IRONTON JOURNAL Mar. 22, 1871
In Kansas City, Missouri, Mar. 20 of heart disease, died. Late of Burlington.
His mother and brother-in-law, Robert ALEXANDER, started on the Annie Laurie
Sunday but would not arrive at Kansas City before Tuesday. Remains will be
brought to Burlington for Burial.

DUFFEY, JOSEPHINE ROMAINE - IRONTON REGISTER June 22, 1882
Died and was born at Patroit, Gallia Co., OH.

DUNCAN, CHILD - IRONTON REGISTER APRIL 16, 1891
Burlington - A small child of Wm. Duncan's died Friday morning, and was
buried Saturday.

EAKINS, MRS. JOHN - IRONTON REGISTER April 15, 1880
Died on Paddy Creek, April 10, 1880 of consumption. Buried Rome Cemetery.

EARLES, MRS. NOLA - IRONTON REGISTER Dec. 14, 1882
Died of consumption Dec. 5, 1882. Buried at Locust Grove Cemetery.
