CRUMLISH, JAMES - IRONTON REGISTER JUNE 14, 1883
James Crumlish, it is reported, was drowned off the "City of Madison," near
Louisville, last week. He was the son of Daniel Crumlish, who formerly lived
in Ironton, and the last remaining member of that family. James was running
as second mate on the above named boat.

Waldo E. Brown, 70, of Route 2, Proctorville, died Monday at his residence.
He was born Jan. 9, 1918, in Lawrence County, son of the late John W. and
Adren Freeman Brown. He was a retired employee of a former Chemtron Corp. of
Huntington, W.Va He was a member, deacon and adult Bible class teacher at
Lucinda Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Magdalene McComas Brown;
three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Lois Gail) Webb of South Point, Mrs. Jack
(Sherry) Sexton of Crown City and Mrs. Randy (Rita) Stevenson of
Proctorville; one son, Frederick Brown of Proctorville; nine grand-children;
one great-granddaughter, and one sister, Eloise Sites of Proctorville.
Funeral services are Thursday at 1 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville,
by the Rev. Raymond Bragg and the Rev. Clyde Stephens. Burial will be in
Rome Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 pm. today at the funeral home.

Proctorville - Mr. Abner Smith, has passed away. He was eighty-eight years
old, and having spent his entire life in this community, had many friends.
He was known to all as "Uncle Abner," and in all had a friend.
