Kathryn Emma Harrop, 80, of Gallipolis, fell asleep in death June 1, 2004, at her home on Centenary Road.
She was born Jan. 9, 1924, in Mont Clare, Pa., the daughter of the late Herman B. and Clara (Wilson) Willaredt.
She was active as one of Jehova’s Witnesses since 1959.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Harrop Jr., on Aug. 3, 2001, one sister, Dorothy Crouthamel, and one brother, Andrew Willaredt.
She is survived by three sons, Edgar Harrop III of Gallipolis, Ronald J. Harrop of Brooklyn, N.Y., and David J. Harrop of France; one daughter, Virginia Barry of Gallipolis; two sisters, Barbara McCorkle, and Lorraine Diehl, both of Arizona; one sister-in-law, Helen Harrop of Pennsylvania; one brother-in-law, Donald Harrop of N.J.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 6, 2004, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness on Bulaville Pike.

William F. “Bill” Vanco, 91, of Gallipolis, died Monday, May 31, 2004, at his residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, June 4, at Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 7-9 p.m., Thursday, June 3.
Alice Brinker

Alice Rollins Brinker, 83, Letart, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, in Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, W.Va.
Born March 6, 1919, in Akron, daughter of the late Joseph L. and Goldie Merritt Rollins, she was a housewife.
She was a member of Guiding Star Advent Christian Church, Letart Community Center, and one of the founding leaders of Letart Pioneer 4-H Club.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred E. Brinker Sr., in 1991; a granddaughter, Julie Keller; and a brother, Bert Rollins.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda J. (Lymuel) Meadows of Letart, and Sharon L. (Jack) Heiss of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sons, Fred E. (Barbara) Brinker Jr. and William R. (Lisa) Brinker, both of Letart; eight grandchildren, a step-granddaughter, five great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Zella Parker of Belvedere, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Ardath O. Brinker of Letart.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Foglesong-Tucker Funeral Home, Mason, W.Va., with the Rev. Mike Martin, Pastor Randy Parsons and Pastor James Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Letart Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 tonight.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a favorite charity in memory of Alice Brinker, or to the Guiding Star Advent Christian Church.
John Gothard
Gallipolis, Ohio

John Gothard, 69, formerly of Gallipolis, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at his home in Pennsylvania, where he had resided for several years.
Born in Eureka, he was the son of the late Marvin and Lesta Broyles Gothard. He was formerly the personnel director at Gallipolis Developmental Center, and was a Master Mason.
Surviving are a sister, Phyllis Gothard; and two brothers, Frank Gothard and Eustas Gothard.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Juanita, Virginia and Emily; and two brothers, James Wilson and Marvin Jr.
Memorial services were conducted at the convenience of the family. Cremation arrangements were by Cremeens Funeral Chapel.
Geraldine Price
Trenton, Ohio

Geraldine Price, 58, Trenton, died Monday, July 29, 2002, at her residence.
Born Oct. 15, 1943, in Columbus, daughter of the late Kenneth Daniels, and Reva Fowler Daniels of Gallipolis, she was active at Tamarind Square in Trenton.
Surviving in addition to her mother are two daughters, Kathy (Rick) Johns of Middletown, and Tracy (Michael) Hulse of Fairfield; four grandchildren; a sister, Peggy Rucker of Gallipolis; two brothers, Kenton Daniels of Florence, Ky., and David Daniels of San Antonio, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Daniels; and a niece, Tiffany Townsend-Daniels.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, 517 S. Sutphin St., Middletown, Ohio 45044, with the Rev. Chris Tannreuther officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Dwight Nelson Stevers Sr.

Dwight Nelson “Governor” Stevers Sr., 66, of Gallipolis, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at his residence, after a long illness.
He was born July 5, 1936, in Gallipolis, son of the late Charles Hugh and Joy Alvenza Lanier Stevers.
Dwight was a well-known automobile salesman and dealer in Gallipolis for over 30 years.
He was a Past Exalted Ruler and life member of the Gallipolis Elks Lodge No. 107, a member of Morning Dawn Masonic Lodge No. 7, and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Gloria J. Young Stevers; six children, Dwight Nelson Stevers Jr. of California, Teresa (Michael) Antonopoulos and her children, Alexandra and Nicholos, of West Palm Beach, Florida, Gerald Hugh Stevers and his sons, Nikkolos and Charlie, of Naples, Florida, Christine (Wesley) Reynolds and their children, Adam, Terah and Trent, of Minford, Deborah (Tim) Adams and their sons, Joseph A. Blazer and J.D. Adams, of Pomeroy, and Judy (Bart) Bradshaw of of Naples, Florida.
Also surviving are a brother, Hugh “Steve” (Vicki) Stevers and his son, Marc, of Jacksonville, Florida; an aunt, Miriam Doughman Neal of Crown City; and several cousins.
Dwight will be missed by his family, his many friends at the Gallipolis Elks Lodge, and all his “car people.” At Dwight’s request, his funeral will be private.
A private funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2002, at Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Fulton and Ruth Ann Fellure officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Holzer Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
Sandra Lucille Thacker

Sandra Lucille Thacker, 37, Gallipolis, died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at her mother’s residence.
Born Dec. 18, 1964, in Gallipolis, she was the daughter of the late Harry Ray Bland, and Nancy Stewart Butler of Gallipolis.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Warren G. Thacker of Bidwell; two sons, Warren T. Thacker and Joshua D. Thacker, both of Bidwell; a sister, Kimberly R. Athey of Cheshire; two brothers, Kenneth R. Bland of Gallipolis, and Jeffrey B. Blessing of Letart, W.Va.; her maternal grandmother, Helen Lucille Decker of West Columbia, W.Va.; and several aunts and uncles.
She was also preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Charles Decker; and her maternal grandparents, Thomas and Goldie Stewart.
A graveside memorial service was conducted at 1 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at Graham Cemetery, New Haven, W.Va., with Pastor Roger Bonecutter officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Foglesong-Tucker Funeral Home, Mason, W.Va.
