POMEROY - Hattie L. Ridgway, 68, of Pomeroy, died Sunday, October 6, 2002, at University Hospital in Cincinnati, following a sudden illness.
She was born June 8, 1934, at “down on the farm” Blockhouse Bottom in East Point, Kentucky, to the late Wilbur T. Webb and the late Opal Cunningham Webb.
She was an active member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pomeroy. She was retired from the Gavin Electric Plant in Cheshire.
She is survived by her husband, Terry L. Reiber of Pomeroy; daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Tim Wamsley of Rutland; son, Jeff Ridgway of Pomeroy; son, Dave Ridgway of Pomeroy; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and John Hoffman of Clifton, West Virginia; stepchildren, Vince and (Tonia) Reiber of Racine, and Jessie Reiber of Palatka, Florida.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Adam Jenkins, Shannon and (Kevin) Ihle, Jacob Ridgway, Noni Hoffman, Mike Davis, Cody Ridgway, Mina Hoffman, Hannah Ridgway, Terri Reiber and Alisha Recamier; sisters, Nancy and (Glenn) Douglas of Reedsville, Judy and (Pete) Lewis of Colonial Heights, Virginia, and Mary Jane and (Jim) Gress of Letart, West Virginia.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2002, in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pomeroy, with Pastor Jim Brady officiating. Friends may call at Anderson Funeral Home in New Haven, West Virginia, from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2002.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Sunday School, 231 East Second Street, Pomeroy, Ohio 45769, with proceeds to further the ministry of God’s NET.

GALLIPOLIS - Pearl Elizabeth Freeman, 87, of Gallipolis, Ohio, died on Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at Holzer Medical Center.
She was born on December 23, 1915, in Fairfield County, Ohio, to the late Walter E. and Erma A. Harden Freeman. Pearl was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was active in the Gallia County Senior Citizens.
She is survived by two sisters, Ruth Alice Lusetta Freeman of Lebanon, Ohio and Althea OtaBelle (Thomas H.) Harrison of Middletown, Ohio; two brothers, William Franklin (Dorothy) Freeman of New Meadows, Idaho and George Marvin (Eileen) Freeman of Wenatchee, Washington; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Charles Nelson, Arthur Donald, Carrol Eugene, and Walter Jr.; and one sister in infancy, Thelma Leona.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003. at the Willis Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Ingram and the Rev. Barbara Jean Carriere’ officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio, on 1 p.m Friday. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service on 5-7 p.m Thursday.

GALLIPOLIS - Janice Kerns, 64, Gallipolis, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at the Holzer Medical Center. Born Oct. 15, 1939 in Wayne County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Bertha Akers Frasher. In addition to her parents she was preceded by a daughter, Teresa Hanna. Janice was a former employee of the First National Bank, (later named The Central Trust Bank), and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gallipolis.
She is survived by Marlin G. Kerns, who she married March 2, 1979, in Key West, Fla.; three sisters, Doris Jean Runyan of Gallipolis, Rita (David) Davis of Hillard, Rebecca Lewis of Gallipolis; two nephews, Travis J. Frasher of Columbus and Steven Davis of Canton; a niece, Andrea D. Davis of Columbus.

Doris Ernestine Campbell, 84, Crown City, died Monday, June 21, 2004, at the Davis Home in Oak Hill.
Born May 16, 1920, in Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late Cary Austin “Bob” Caldwell, and the late Mary Edna Waugh.
Doris was a retired psychiatric aide from the Gallipolis Developmental Center, and attended Paw Paw Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Charles Ewing Campbell, three brothers, Cleatus, John Lee, and Richard Carl Caldwell; and by two sisters, Grace Randolph and Faye Bliss.
She is survived by four sisters-in-law, Betty Caldwell of Crown City; Nancy Campbell of Crown City; Norma Campbell of Morgantown, W.Va.; and Thelma Campbell of Hawaii; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 24, 2004, at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with the Rev. Alfred Holley officiating.
Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery.

Delories M. Davis, 73, of Apple Grove, W.Va., died Monday, June 21, 2004, at her residence.
She was born May 1, 1931, in Clifton Forge, Va., daughter of the late William Nicely and Evelyn Larman Nicely.
She was retired from the Mason County Board of Education as a school bus driver. She was a member of the Ashton Baptist Church at Ashton, W.Va., the Women’s Fellowship of the Ashton Baptist Church and the Royal Order of Eastern Star at Buffalo, W.Va.
She is survived by her husband, James E. Davis of Ashton; a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Linda Davis of Point Pleasant, W.Va.; daughters and sons-in-law, Dee and Darrell Stover of Henderson, W.Va., Loretta and Randy Fuls of Fremont, Ohio, and Karla and Gene Blankenship of Circleville, Ohio; and grandchildren, Jacob Powers, Garret Blankenship, Travis Davis, Shayla Davis, Morgan Davis, Aimee Stover Stein, Cameron Stover, A.J. Blankenship and Kelcie Blankenship.
She is also survived by a sister, Phyllis Clark of Clifton Forge; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Darius and Helen Nicely of Hopewell, Va., Wayman and Faye Nicely of Nashville, Tenn., and Garland and Darlene Nicely of Virginia Beach, Va.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2004, at the Ashton Baptist Church in Ashton, with Max Spurlock officiating. Burial will follow in the Hill Crest Cemetery at Kenova, W.Va. Friends may call at the Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2004, and at the church one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Nelson R. Bostic, 76, of Gallipolis, died Monday morning, March 29, 2004, at the VA Medical Center in Chillicothe.
Born July 12, 1927, in Gallia County, he was a son of the late Gomer and Effie Meadows Bostic.
He was a United States Army Air Force Veteran, a retired boilermaker from Local 667 in Charleston, and a member of the VFW #4464.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy L. Rayburn.
He is survived by his wife, Elnora Adkins Bostic of Gallipolis; three children, Linda (John) Sager of Gallipolis; Nelson (Janice) Bostic Jr., of Ashland, Ohio; and Carolyn Wasch of Gallipolis; five grandchildren, Michelle Whitt of Gallipolis; Ashley Wasch of Gallipolis; Lance Bostic of Ashland, Ohio; Brad Bostic of Ashland, Ohio; and Adam Wasch of Gallipolis; and one great-grandchild, Cameron Whitt of Gallipolis.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 1, 2004, at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Unroe officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m., Wednesday.
Military funeral honors will be presented at the graveside by the Gallia County Veterans Organizations.
Pallbearers will be Lance Bostic, Brad Bostic, Adam Wasch, John Sager, Ron Henry and Randy Finney.
