Mr. Wilburn Banks

Wilburn Ray Banks, age 47, of Georgetown, Ohio died Saturday, August 2, 2003 at his residence. Mr. Banks was a certified machinist. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 28, 1926 the son of the late Delmer Lee Banks and Halla Bee Banks of Georgetown, Ohio.

Mr. Banks is survived by his mother, one daughter, Tricia Blankenship of Hamersville, Ohio, one son, Kyle Banks of Moscow, Ohio, one sister, Reda Hisle of Loveland, Ohio, two nieces - Cheryl Hisle of Columbus, Ohio and Lisa Hisle of Loveland, Ohio; one great nephew, Tyler Cordova and one great niece, Kirsten Hisle.

Graveside services will be held 12:30 P.M. Monday, August 11, 2003 at the Tate Township Cemetery in Bethel, Ohio. Visitation will be from 10 - 12 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family at41 Sunset Blvd., Apt. #45, Georgetown, Ohio 45121.

Mrs. Jennabee Lucille Kelley

Jennabee Lucille Kelley, age 74, of Hamersville, Ohio died Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at the Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mrs. Kelley was a homemaker. She was born in Adams County, Ohio on June 29, 1929 the daughter of the late Robert and Minnie (Ball) Alexander. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Kelley; one daughter, Connie Sue Kratzer; two stepsons - Robert and Billy Joe Kelley and one step daughter, Dorothy Cleaver.

Mrs. Kelley is survived by one son, Lawrence Kelley of Mt. Orab, Ohio, one daughter, Omega Kelley of Hamersville, Ohio, step son, Marion Earl Kelley of Bethel, Ohio, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, two sisters - Mary Gilbert and Virginia Inlow, both of Sardinia, Ohio and one brother, Charles Alexander of Wahlsburg, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 P.M. Saturday, August 9, 2003 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. Saturday. Interment will be in Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. If desired, memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association.

Mrs. Joan Carolyn Carter

Mrs. Joan Carolyn Carter, age 61, of Georgetown, Ohio died Sunday, July 27, 2003 at her residence. Mrs. Carter was a homemaker. She was born on January 29, 1942 in El Paso, Texas the daughter of the late Phillip Vernon Wathen and Roberta (Harris) Wathen of Milford, Ohio.

Mrs. Carter is survived by two sons - Earl Carter and wife Lori of Georgetown, Ohio and Larry Carter and wife Paula of Loveland, Ohio; one daughter, Patricia Crawford and husband Donnie of Russellville, Ohio; her mother - Roberta Wathen of Milford, Ohio; five grandchildren, one great grandchild and two sisters - Phyllis Zeter and husband Jim of Batavia, Ohio and Donna Lind of Milford, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Rev. William Kirby will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 - 7 P.M. Wednesday evening. Cremation will follow the services.

Mr. Harry Newton Bays

Harry Newton Bays, age 63 of Mt. Orab, Ohio died Saturday, November 29, 2003 at his residence. Mr. Bays was a member of the Local #265 Laborer's Union (retired) Heavy and Highway Division and had been employed by Foley Construction Company and Eaton Construction Company. He also was an Army veteran and a member of the Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Post #367 in Ripley, Ohio. He was born on March 3, 1940 in South Point, Ohio the son of the late Edward and Alma (Cooper) Bays. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Doris Jones.

Mr. Bays is survived by his wife - Nancy (Simpson) Bays; seven children - Harry Eberle of Mio, Michigan, Dennis Eberle of Lafferty, Ohio, John E. Bays of Manchester, Ohio, Miles Bays of McDowell, Georgia, Michael Bays of Hamersville, Ohio, Melissa Bays-Mize of McBee, South Carolina and Anna Skaggs of Dayton, Ohio; one step son - Gregory Willman of Hamersville, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren; five sisters - Barbara Kuhn of West Union, Ohio, Betty Morrison of Bentonville, Ohio, Brenda Sue Saleh of Michigan, Claudia Creech of Cherry Fork, Ohio and Diana Scott of West Union, Ohio; two brothers - Harold Bays of Muncie, Indiana and Walt Bays of Michigan; one aunt - Lily Reed of Mayslick, Kentucky, one uncle - Eugene Cooper of Mayslick, Kentucky and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Rev. Dave Warren will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 - 9 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the West Union Village Cemetery in West Union, Ohio with veteran services by the Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Post #367. If desired, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Hope, 415 Home Street, Georgetown, Ohio 45121.

Mr. Grover Polley

Grover Polley, age 73, of Ripley, Ohio died Monday, November 24, 2003 at the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. Mr. Polley was retired from the US Shoe Corporation and was a farmer. He was also a member of the Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Post #367 and the Ohio Farmers Union. He was born in Queens, Kentucky on August 30, 1930 the son of the late Elza and Mina (Lawson) Polley. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Albert Polley.

Mr. Polley is survived by his wife, Barbara (Hauke) Polley; five sons - Dan, Don and Jerry Polley all of Ripley, Ohio, Dave Polley of Nickerson, Kansas and James Polley of Clay City, Kentucky; six grandchildren, two sisters - Wilna Deaton of West Chester, Ohio and Viola Redmon of Phoenix, Arizona and two brothers - Herb and Benny Polley both of Russellville, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 29, 2003 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. John Neu will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hickory Ridge Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, US 62/68, Ripley, Ohio 45167.

Mr. Clarence W. "Chief" Grant

Clarence W. "Chief" Grant, age 64, of Ripley, Ohio died Saturday, November 22, 2003 at the University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Grant was an U.S. Army veteran and a member of the First Baptist Church in Ripley, Ohio. He was born April 12, 1939 the son of the late Robert L. Grant and Louise M. (Payne) Grant of Ripley, Ohio. He was also preceded in death by two sisters - Patricia Elizabeth Crews and Lawanda Sue Grant.

Mr. Grant is survived by his mother, Louise Marie Grant of Ripley, Ohio; three sisters - Roberta Platt and Betty Steward both of Ripley, Ohio and Sondra Grant of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers - Ray Grant of Cleveland, Tennessee and Michael Grant of Dayton, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Willie Howard will officiate. Visitation will be from 12 - 2 P.M. Wednesday afternoon. Interment will be in Red Oak Cemetery with veteran services by the Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Post #367. If desired, memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.

Mrs. Patsy Ann Kirker

Mrs. Patsy Ann Kirker, age 68 of Hamersville, Ohio died Saturday, November 22, 2003 at her residence. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Kirker was born on August 23, 1935 in Augusta, Kentucky the daughter of the late Maurice and Bonnie (Otto) Connor. She was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Ryan Kirker and one sister, Betty Jane Connor.

Mrs. Kirker is survived by her husband of fifty years - Harley Kirker, Jr.; one son - Rodney Kirker of Georgetown, Ohio; one daughter - Nadine Kelsey and husband David of Bethel, Ohio; three granddaughters - Brianne and Lindsay Kirker both of Georgetown, Ohio and Kisha Ann Kelsey of Auburn, Alabama; two great grandchildren - Trey and Shelee Kirker; one brother - Billy Mack Connor of Feesburg, Ohio and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Revs. Thomas Friskney and Dave Warren will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2805 W. McMicken, Suite #2, Cincinnati, Ohio 45225.

Mrs. Freda Irene Coleman

Mrs. Freda Irene Coleman, age 77, of Ripley, Ohio died Saturday, November 22, 2003 at the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. Mrs. Coleman was a homemaker and a part of Apple Street Christian Holiness Church for many years. She was born in Georgetown, Ohio on February 25, 1926, the daughter of the late John and Gladys (Doty) McKinzie. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Coleman, step mother, Bertha McKinzie, son, John Coleman, step daughter Mary Sams, Lucy Coleman, and stepson Douglas Coleman and a brother, John McKinzie.

Mrs. Coleman is survived by three daughters - Brenda Donald of Lexington, Kentucky, Lynda Haley of Hamilton, Ohio, Dolly Day of Aberdeen, Ohio; five grandchildren - Jack Boone II, Tanya Gentry, Clarissa Alexander, Clasenda Caudill, Carl Ray Alexander II; eight great grandchildren - Jessica, Devon, and Austin Spires, Jimmy and Carli Setty, Abagail Simms, and Tre and Marcus Alexander. She also leaves behind two stepsons - Frank Coleman Jr. of Connersville, Indiana and Roy Adams Coleman of West Union, Ohio. In addition, Freda is also survived by three brothers - Jesse McKinzie, Richard McKinzie, and Ralph McKinzie and six sisters - Dorothy Whisman, Vivian Day, Susie Scaggs, Margie Kunkel, Ruth Allen and Jo Anne Maynard.

Visitation will be held at noon followed by funeral services held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 26, 2003 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Graveside services will follow at Pisgah Ridge Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio.
