Lawrence C. Parker, age 92, of Russellville, Ohio died Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at the Villa Georgetown Nursing Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Mr. Parker was a farmer and a member of the Ash Ridge Christian Union Church. He was born on February 19, 1911 in Ash Ridge, Ohio the son of the late John William and Anna Frances (Miller) Parker. He was also preceded in death by a son, John A. Parker, four brothers - Oscar, Clarence, John and Aaron Parker and one sister, Alma Ernst.
Mr. Parker is survived by his wife, Stella (Gelter) Parker, whom he married on June 4, 1935; one son - Delbert Parker and wife Audrey of Sardinia, Ohio; one daughter - Anna Lou Ralston and husband Marion of Georgetown, Ohio; daughter-in-law - Evelyn Parker of Georgetown, Ohio; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 14, 2003 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 P.M. Thursday evening. Interment will be in Ash Ridge Cemetery. If desired, memorials maybe made to the Donor's Choice.
Mrs. Viola Lee Walker Florence
Mrs. Viola Lee Walker Florence, age 89, of Ripley, Ohio died Sunday, November 9, 2003 at the Villa Georgetown Nursing Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Mrs. Florence was a homemaker. She was born in Fleming County, Kentucky on January 4, 1914 the daughter of the late Phister Riley and Ida Lee (Follmer) Walker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell H. Florence Sr.; one son, Donald Owen Florence; one grandson, Freddy Florence, Jr.; two sisters - Ella Thackston and Marie Walsh and three brothers - Raymond, Virgil and Elmo Walker.
Mrs. Florence is survived by two daughters - Linda Utter of Felicity, Ohio and Janet Florence of Georgetown, Ohio; three sons - Bobby Florence of Georgetown, Ohio; Russell Florence, Jr. of Amelia, Ohio and Freddy Florence of Felicity, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and one sister, Allene Moran of Flemingsburg, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Bill Collett will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 - 9 P.M. Tuesday evening. Mrs. Fern Davidson
Mrs. Fern F. Davidson, age 79, of Georgetown, Ohio died Saturday, November 8, 2003 at her residence. Mrs. Davidson was retired from Kroger and IGA. She was born in Brown County, Ohio on October 22, 1924 the daughter of the late Horace and Margaret (Fetters) Carrington.
Mrs. Davidson is survived by her husband of 61 years - Arthur Benson Davidson; one daughter - Angie Jimison and husband, Terry of Georgetown, Ohio; four grandchildren - Benjie Broyles, Maria Puckett, Marla McRoberts and Beth Denny; six great grandchildren - Trenton, Taylor, Sarah, Stephen, Keri and B.J.; two sisters - Tina Shipman of Madeira, Ohio and Faye Piekarski of DelRio, Texas; one brother - Edward Carrington and wife, JoAnn of Sardinia, Ohio; nieces and nephews - Roger Shipman and wife, Paulette, Lee Piekarski, Lynn Stavley, Julianne Ernst and Janalee Lennartz; a life long friend, Arlene Chesser and numerous cousins and acquaintances.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6 - 9 P.M. Interment will be in Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. If desired, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Hope or the Georgetown Life Squad.
Mrs. Hilda Berlinger
Mrs. Hilda Berlinger, age 87, of Georgetown, Ohio died Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. Mrs. Berlinger was a retired secretary for Hook Realty in Georgetown, Ohio and a member of the Georgetown United Methodist Church. She was born on October 16, 1916 in Cabin Creek, Kentucky the daughter of the late Charles Thomas and Mary Elizabeth (Gilkerson) Carpenter. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Paul Carpenter and three sisters, Gladys Bolender, Opal Pursley and Blanche Cummins.
Mrs. Berlinger is survived by her husband - Joseph W. Berlinger, one son - Michael Carpenter and wife Sherri of Georgetown, Ohio; two grandchildren - Joseph and Jacob Carpenter; one sister - Juanita Cummins of Foley, Alabama and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, November 6, 2003 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Rev. Bill Krody will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 12 - 1 P.M. Courtney Clay Markwell
Aberdeen Courtney Clay Markwell, 74, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Villa Georgetown in Georgetown, Ohio.
Mr. Markwell was born July 14, 1943 in Ewing, Kentucky to the late Elgan and Vada Adamson Markwell. He served his country honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his wife Kimberly Smith Markwell and his sister, Ruby Fields, who passed away in November 2017.
Services for Courtney Markwell will be held at the convenience of the family.
Alvin "B.R." Douglas
Aberdeen Alvin S. B.R. Douglas, 69, passed away Friday December 15, 2017.
B.R. was born September 7, 1948 in Maysville to the late Henry and Alma Myers Douglas. He served his country honorably in the US Air Force and was retired from UPS.
Survivors include Debbie Ross, his loving girlfriend of 18 years; her children, who he considered his own, Jeremy Myers and Jennifer Myers; an uncle, J.C. Douglas; an aunt, Irene Stitt; and a several cousins.
Funeral services for Alvin B.R. Douglas will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Brell & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Huffman officiating. Military honors, conducted by VFW Simon Kenton Post #2734, will immediately follow the service.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Mr. William Archie Hafer
Mr. William Archie Hafer, age 88, of Aberdeen, Ohio died Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at the Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville, Kentucky. Mr. Hafer was retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation. He was also a member of the Enon Christian Church and more recently had been attending the Aberdeen Church of the Nazarene. He was born on May 1, 1915 in Brown County, Ohio the son of the late Lee Andres and Amanda Belle (Vice) Hafer. He was also preceded in death by one son, William Melwood Hafer; two sisters - Ada Jacobs and Anna Belle Springer; and four brothers - Elmer, Carl, Roy and Tom Hafer.
Mr. Hafer is survived by his wife of 69 1/2 years, Anna Mae (Kirk) Hafer; three daughters - Barbara Fisher of West Union, Ohio, Clara Tucker of Aberdeen, Ohio and Joyce Lee of Mt. Carmel, Kentucky; two sons - Don Hafer of Ripley, Ohio and Leroy Hafer of Aberdeen, Ohio; 24 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and one sister, Alleyne House of Farmersville, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 2, 2003 at the Enon Christian Church on Route 41 in Manchester, Ohio. Revs. Clay Jolley and Jerry Boling will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Interment will be in Hickory Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Carlos Eugene Lewis
Carlos Eugene Lewis, age 65 of Ripley, Ohio died Monday, October 27, 2003 at his residence. He was a welder for the Ripley Foundry, a Viet Nam war Army veteran and a member of the Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Post #367 in Ripley, Ohio. Mr. Lewis was born on September 9, 1938 in Brown County, Ohio the son of the late Clemmer Eugene Lewis and Effie Lee (Watson) Lewis of Ripley, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father and his wife, Faye (Ormes) Lewis.
Mr. Lewis is survived by his mother - Effie Lee Lewis of Ripley, Ohio; three sisters - Mary Katherine List of Ripley, Ohio, Wilma Mae Purtell of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Carolyn Sue Pope of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three brothers - Frank G. Lewis of Wisconsin, Thomas D. Lewis of Russellville, Ohio and Robert W. Lewis of Ripley, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 31, 2003 at the Heitt s Chapel Cemetery near Ripley, Ohio. Rev. John Neu will officiate. There will be no visitation. Veterans services will be held by the Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Post #367. Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio is serving the family.
