Mrs. Hestel Faye Haitz, age 93, of Ripley, Ohio died Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. Mrs. Haitz was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio, the Brown County Historical Society and an active member of the Ripley Riverview Garden Club. She was born on April 20, 1911 in Adams County, Ohio the daughter of the late Homer and Bertha (Schuler) Swearingen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe William Haitz; one son - James Dale Haitz; three sisters - Mary Swearingen, Velma Fussnecker and Coradell Borgman and one brother - Harold Swearingen.
Mrs. Haitz is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law - Bill and Diana Haitz of Cincinnati, Ohio; Steve Haitz of Las Vegas, Nevada; Richard and Marsha and Mike and Jean Haitz all of Ripley, Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law - Cora Sue and Albert Leonard of Ripley, Ohio and Nancy Haitz and Ron Fauver of Columbus, Ohio; eight grandchildren - Scott Haitz, Dale Haitz, Missy Malone, Cristy Wallingford, Trisha Barquist, Tony Haitz, Jamie Mclellan and Joe Leonard; and twelve great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 7, 2004 at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio. Visitation will be from 6 - 9 P.M. Thursday evening at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio. If desired, memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Mrs. Nellie Mae Hayslip
Mrs. Nellie Mae Hayslip, age 87, of Russellville, Ohio died Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. Mrs. Hayslip was a homemaker. She was born in Hamersville, Ohio on January 13, 1917 the daughter of the late William Edward and Ina Mae (Carter) Marks.
Mrs. Hayslip is survived by her husband, Paul Harold Hayslip, Sr.; one son, Paul Hayslip, Jr. and wife, Judy of Russellville, Ohio; two daughters - Shirley Rolph and husband, Francis of Georgetown, Ohio and Sharon Kidwell and husband, John of Georgetown, Ohio; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Edward Marks of Hamersville, Ohio and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 30, 2004 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Rev. Kevin Whitsett will officiate. Visitation will be from 12 - 1 P.M. Friday afternoon. Interment will be in Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio.
Mr. Louis A. Klinker
Louis A. Klinker, age 101, of Ripley, Ohio died Sunday, April 25, 2004 at the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ripley, Ohio. Along with his father and brother, Mr. Klinker owned and operated the Klinker Tobacco Company in Ripley. He also owned and operated the West End Grocery and was a farmer in Ripley for many years. Mr. Klinker attended St. Michael School and was the oldest member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio. Mr. Klinker was born on June 15, 1902 in Ripley, Ohio the son of the late Martin and Appollonia Mussinan Klinker. He was also preceded in death by his wife of sixty-seven years, Jeannette Swisher Klinker; one daughter - Lois Klinker Dragoo; one great grandson - Greg Bradford; one sister - Mary Klinker VanHoesen and two brothers - Raymond and Charles Klinker.
Mr. Klinker is survived by one daughter - Shirley Klinker Voelker of Marietta, ohio; one son - Randall P. Klinker of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister - Emma Klinker Hauke of Ripley, Ohio; ten grandchildren - Susan Voelker Blauvelt, Henry Martin Voelker and Scott Matthew Voelker all of Marietta, Ohio; Betty Dragoo Campbell and Bill Dragoo, Jr., both of Ripley, Ohio; Judith Dragoo Young of Sardinia, Ohio; Louis R. Klinker of Kansas City, Kansas; Jeanne Klinker Wetzel, Cindy Klinker Grundy and John Klinker all of Cincinnati, Ohio. Also surviving are fifteen great grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Katherine Swisher Culbertson of Largo, Florida.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio. Visitation will be from 6:30 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio. Mrs. Louella M. Lykins
Mrs. Louella M. Lykins, age 70, of Georgetown, Ohio died Sunday, April 18, 2004 at the Meadowwood Care Center in Georgetown, Ohio. Mrs. Lykins was retired from US Shoe Corporation. She was born in Brown County, Ohio on August 26, 1933 the daughter of the late Arthur Ray and Margaret Berneda (Shafer) Day. She was also preceded in death by four brothers - Harlan, Russell, Richard and Glen Day and one sister - Effie Mae Bellamy.
Mrs. Lykins is survived by her son - Gary Lykins and wife, Linda of Georgetown, Ohio; two granddaughters - Tiffany and Amanda Lykins; one sister - Thelma Shay of Georgetown, Ohio and niece Norma Weaver of Georgetown, Ohio and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Pastor Mark Garbett will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 - 2 P.M. Wednesday afternoon. Interment will be in Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. If desired, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Mrs. Thelma E. Cox
Mrs. Thelma E. Cox, age 80, of Georgetown, Ohio died Saturday, April 10, 2004 at the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. Mrs. Cox was a clerk for Donohoo Pharmacy for 19 years and previously for the Stifflers Department Store. She was a member of the Georgetown Church of Christ and an honorary member of the Georgetown Life Squad Auxiliary. She was born on April 9, 1924 in Bracken County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Stanley and Florence (Bailey) Thackston. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Cox and one son, Dennis Lee Cox.
Mrs. Cox is survived by one daughter - Sherry Ridner of Georgetown, Ohio; three grandchildren - Jason Ridner of Bethel, Ohio, Vanessa Ridner of Georgetown, Ohio and Cory Ridner of Western Hills, Ohio and many other relatives and friends.
Private funeral services will be held Thursday, April 15, 2004 at the convenience of the family at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 P.M. Wednesday evening. Interment will be in Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. If desired, memorials may be made to the Georgetown Life Squad or the Georgetown Church of Christ.
Elizabeth C. Schellenberger
Elizabeth Catherine Schellenberger, age 63, of Georgetown, Ohio died Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at the Villa Georgetown Nursing Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Mrs. Schellenberger was a housekeeper and a member of the Fairview Church in Georgetown, Ohio. She was born in Norwood, Ohio on August 8, 1940 the daughter of the late Carlton and Mary (Gehler) Burdette.
Mrs. Schellenberger is survived by one daughter, Janet Woodruff and husband, Kenny of Sardinia, Ohio; two sons - William Joseph Schellenberger of Greenbush, Ohio and James Lee Schellenberger of Bethel, Ohio; one granddaughter - Cecilia Woodruff; one brother - Carlton Burdette and wife, Virginia of Washington; three nephews - Garry, Michal and David Burdette; one niece - Barbara Burdette; one aunt - Barbara Baker; one uncle - Nick Gehler and her cat - Little Bit.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 10, 2004 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Rev. Kraig Walker will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 P.M. Friday evening. Mrs. Nellie Frazier
Mrs. Nellie Frazier, age 72, of Georgetown, Ohio died Saturday, March 27, 2004 at her residence. Mrs. Frazier worked at Meadowwood Nursing Home from 1969 - 1983 as a food preparation supervisor. She was born in Brown County, Ohio on June 29, 1931 the daughter of the late Charles W. and Ethel (Linderman) Bruan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Frazier, Sr.; one daughter, Connie Sue Frazier; stepmother, Edna Wamsley Gillmore Bruan; two brothers - Ralph and Charles (Bus) Bruan; and two sisters - Mary Winkle and Louise Yates.
Mrs. Frazier is survived by five sons - Elmer Frazier, Jr. and wife, Lori, David Frazier and wife, Dianna, Bill Frazier, Donnie Frazier and wife, Rhonda all of Georgetown, Ohio and Jack Frazier and wife, Donna of Bethel, Ohio; three daughters - Judy Day and husband, Kenneth of Georgetown, Ohio, Sandy Lane of Georgetown, Ohio and Betty Mullis of Felicity, Ohio; and three grandchildren that she raised, Michael and Leslie Jones and Robin Carter all of Georgetown, Ohio; also 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Rev. Kevin Hamilton will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 - 9 P.M. Martha Inez Young
Mrs. Martha Inez Young, age 91, of Wilmington, Ohio died Friday, March 26, 2004 at the Wilmington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Young was a homemaker. She was born in Higginsport, Ohio on February 2, 1913 the daughter of the late Wilbur and Lydia (Hemphill) McAfee. She was also preceded in death by one son, Jackie Young and one grandchild.
Mrs. Young is survived by two sons - Johnny F. Young of Urbana, Ohio and Marvin James Young of St. Charles, Missouri; one sister - Faye Osburn of Cincinnati, Ohio; five grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
