Mrs. Katie H. Anderson

Katie H. Anderson, age 98 of Georgetown, Ohio died Sunday, January 11, 2004 at the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ripley, Ohio. Mrs. Anderson was a retired teacher. She taught in the Higginsport and Georgetown Schools for many years and was a member of the Russellville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Anderson was born on May 3, 1905 in Red Oak, Ohio the daughter of the late W.E. and Hattie (Richey) Hook. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Jefferson Anderson, one son, Paul Anderson, one daughter, Jeanette Anderson, one grandson, Jim Marks and three sisters, Nellie Davis, Martha Hockman and Anna Lee Meyers.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by four daughters - Polly A. Marks, Patty Bends and Alice Brooks all of Georgetown, Ohio and Katie Swope of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at the Russellville United Methodist Church, 117 Middle Street, Russellville, Ohio. Scott Hennig will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 P.M. Tuesday at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Interment will be in the Linwood Cemetery in Russellville, Ohio. If desired, memorials may be made to the Russellville United Methodist Church, 117 Middle Street, Russellville, Ohio 45168.

Mr. Jimmy Dale

Jimmy L. Dale, age 43, of Georgetown, Ohio died Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at his residence. Mr. Dale was a truck driver. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 18, 1960 the son of the late Wade H. and Hattie (Deaton) Dale.

Mr. Dale is survived by his sister, Joetta Amyx of Russellville, Ohio and one brother, Bill Dale of North Carolina.

Following cremation, services will be held at the convenience of the family. If desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Dale Memorial Fund set up at 5/3 Bank.

Mrs. Blanche Shinkle

Mrs. Blanche Shinkle, age 87, of Higginsport, Ohio died Saturday, January 10, 2004 at her residence. Mrs. Shinkle was a homemaker. She was born on June 8, 1916 in Petersville, Kentucky the daughter of the late Orville L. and Grace (Lucas) Waggoner. She was also preceded in death by two children - Tommy Horn and Eunice Hadley.

Mrs. Shinkle is survived by her husband - Joe Shinkle of Higginsport, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Visitation will be from 10-11 A.M. Tuesday. Interment will be in the Shinkles Ridge Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. If desired, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Disease Association, 303 E. Cherry Street, Georgetown, Ohio 45121.

Mr. Marvin Howard Daniels

Marvin Howard Daniels, age 70 of Aberdeen, Ohio died Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at his residence. Mr. Daniels a retired farmer, retired dye setter for Jefferson Smurfit and a member of the Ebeneezer United Methodist Church of Aberdeen, Ohio for 52 years. He was born on May 22, 1933 in Fleming County, Kentucky the son of the late Hurshel Howard and Sudie E. (Dugan) Daniels. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Gary Malcolm.

Mr. Daniels is survived by his wife, Joyce (Harover) Daniels; one son - Barry Daniels, Sr. and wife, Diana, of Aberdeen, Ohio; one daughter - Sandy McGlothin and husband, Gary of Aberdeen, Ohio; three grandchildren - Barry Daniels, Jr., Daniella Daniels, and Tyler McGlothin, all of Aberdeen, Ohio; two sisters - Evelyn Woollard of Russellville, Ohio and Barbara Thatcher of Norwood, Ohio; and five brothers - Joe Daniels and Wayne Daniels, both of Manchester, Ohio, Delmar Daniels of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Larry Daniels of Winchester, Ohio and David Daniels of Russellville, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 10, 2004 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Richard Thatcher and Rev. Tim Gleason will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 - 9 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home. If desired, memorials may be made to the Ebeneezer United Methodist Church, c/o Connie Thornburg, 2970 St. Rte. 763 Aberdeen, Ohio 45101 or the Hospice of Hope, 415 1/2 Home Street, Georgetown, Ohio 45121.

Maureen Harvey
(April 13, 1950 - February 12, 2013)

Maureen E. Harvey, age 62 of Ripley, Ohio, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in Allen Park, Michigan. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio and served as pastoral associate for ten years. She was also a member of the Rosary Altar Society. Mrs. Harvey was born April 13, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Ruth L. (Koewler) Schiffer of Allen Park, Michigan and the late Robert C. Schiffer.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Harvey is survived by her loving husband of forty-one years – Michael Harvey; one daughter – Sadie M. Alley and husband Josh of Florence, Kentucky; one son - Benjamin R. Harvey of Ripley, Ohio; two grandchildren – Lucas A. Alley and Payton E. Alley; five sisters – Sharon Marks and husband Tom of Southgate, Michigan, Judy Grimski and husband Dennis of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Linda McRae and husband Dennis of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Kristine Chidester and husband Alan of Washington, New Hampshire and Barbara Storum and husband Mark of Cary, North Carolina; one brother – Gerald Schiffer and wife Kathy of Southfield, Michigan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Dohrman Byers will be the Celebrant. Visitation will be from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Michael's St. Vincent De Paul Society.

Gerald W. Polley
(March 13, 1965 - February 22, 2013)

Gerald Wayne “Jerry” Polley, age 47 of Ripley, Ohio died Friday, February 22, 2013 near Main Street in Ripley as a result of injuries sustained from an ATV accident. He was a 1979 graduate of St. Michael School and a 1983 graduate of Ripley-Union-Lewis High School. Jerry owned his own small engine repair business and was a Mercury mechanic. He was born March 13, 1965 in Georgetown, Ohio the son of Barbara (Hauke) Polley of Ripley, Ohio and the late Grover Polley. He was also preceded in death by his sister Mary.

In addition to his mother, Jerry is survived by one son – Chandler Blake Polley of Ripley, Ohio; four brothers – Dan Polley of Ripley, Ohio, David Polley of Nickerson, Kansas, Donald Polley of Ripley and James Polley of Clay City, Kentucky.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Dohrman Byers will be the Celebrant. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley. Interment will follow the funeral mass in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley.

Harold Frye
(May 26, 1914 - February 27, 2013)

Harold E. Frye, age 94 of Georgetown, Ohio died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the Southwest Regional Medical Center in Georgetown, Ohio. Mr. Frye was retired from GTE as a cable splicer and part time supervisor and was a member and former trustee of the Georgetown United Methodist Church. He was born May 26, 1918 in Mt. Orab, Ohio the son of the late Elery and Missouri (Knight) Frye. He was also preceded in death by four brothers – William, Warren, Wayne and Randolph Frye and one sister – Minnie Guillerman.

Mr. Frye is survived by his wife of seventy-one years – Ruth (Barr) Frye whom he married February 14, 1942, one daughter – Judith Greenlee and husband Rudy of Hamersville, Ohio, two grandsons – Mike Brownlee and Steve Brownlee and wife Karen all of Georgetown, Ohio, three great grandchildren – Nikolus Brownlee of Eastgate, Ohio, Angel Brownlee of Anderson Township, Ohio and Noah Brownlee of Georgetown, Ohio, one great-great granddaughter – Avery Brownlee, three step great grandchildren – Shane Browning of Indiana, Stacy Browning of Indiana and Darren Browning of Georgetown, Ohio and one brother – Calvin Frye of Mt. Orab, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio.

Bette Marchese
(July 1, 1931 - March 2, 2013)

Elizabeth Lou “Bette” Marchese, age 81 of Ripley, Ohio, died Saturday, March 2, 2013 at her residence. She worked as a receptionist at a doctor’s office for many years and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio. Mrs. Marchese was born July 1, 1931 in Ripley, Ohio the daughter of the late Michael George and Mary Catherine (Hermann) Germann. She was also preceded in death by her husband – John Anthony Marchese, Sr.; one son – John Anthony Marchese, Jr.; one brother – Charles Ray Germann and one granddaughter – Donna Marie Marchese.

Mrs. Marchese is survived by one son – Michael Marchese of North Miami Beach, Florida; one grandson Michael M. Marchese, Jr. of Florida; one great granddaughter – Amalie Marchese and one sister – Dorothy Haitz of Ripley, Ohio.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at St. Michael Church in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Dohrman Byers will be the Celebrant. There will be no visitation. Interment will follow the funeral mass in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley.
