TISHOMINGO -- Services for Eugene Teel, 81, will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Robert Yandell officiating. Interment follows at Byrds Prairie Cemetery, Tupelo.
Born Aug. 6, 1917, at Centrahoma to Robert Lee and Bertha Brannon Teel, he died Jan. 15, 1999, at Tishomingo. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie, Delmas and Otto Teal; and three sisters, Zelma Turner, Lille Dodd and Jewel Anderson.
He married Evelena Johnson on Jan. 5, 1946, at Coalgate. Teel was an INCA weatherization program engineer.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; five sons, Robert Teel, Oklahoma City, Ted Teel, Fort Worth, Texas, Ronald Teel and Edwin Teel, both Tishomingo, and Terry Teel, Ardmore; one sister, Clora Young, Hemet, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Corbin Funeral Home.
IRVING, Texas -- Graveside services for Ola Martha Schilling, 77, Ardmore, were Saturday at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Monsignor John Bell officiating.
Born July 17, 1921, at Louisville, Ky., she died Jan. 13, 1999, at Ardmore. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Schilling Sr.
Mrs. Schilling had lived in Ardmore since 1960. She was a housewife.
Survivors include two sons, John Schilling, Irving, and Charles "Chuck" Schilling, Houston; one daughter, Sandra Swan, Ardmore; three sisters, Beulah, Jerry and Reba; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Chism-Smith Funeral Home.
Services for Doil Burton Summerville, 66, Lone Grove will be 10 a.m. Monday at Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. LeRoy Holman officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born Aug. 19, 1932, at Lakeview, Texas, to Burt and Gladys Summerville, he died Jan. 16, 1999, at the local hospital. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Summerville.
Summerville married Hazel Faught Jan. 20, 1951, at McCaulley, Texas. He had lived in the Lone Grove area since 1994, coming from Dalhart, Texas. He attended the Maranatha Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one son, Ronald Summerville, Irving, Texas; five daughters Debra Clark, Perkins, Kathy Worley and Pam Lemley, both Ardmore, Donna Weber, Marshall and Patty Snow, Lone Grove; one brother, Dwayne "Pete" Summerville, Grandbury, Texas; one cousin, Jimmy Shieldknight, Spearman, Texas; and 16 grandchildren.
Bearers are John Worley, Tommy Lemley, Gary and Anthony Snow, Terry Weber, Mike Worley, Jesse Weaver and Patrick Clark. Honorary bearer is Kyle Summerville.
ROFF -- Graveside rites for Jimmy Dale Webb, 68, will be 2 p.m. Monday at East Hill Cemetery with Don Ellis officiating.
Born Oct. 16, 1930, at Fitzhugh to Comer Haskell and Dema Alice Killan Webb, he died Jan. 15, 1999, at Ada. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Brassfield.
Webb was a retired carpenter. He had lived in the area all of his life and delivered meals to senior citizens at Roff. He attended school at Fitzhugh. Webb was an United States Air Force veteran.
Survivors include three brothers, Richard and Phillip Webb, both Fitzhugh, and Wylie Webb, Ada; and two sisters, Barbara Morgan, Ardmore, and Margaret Lackey, Roff.
Services are under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home,
MARIETTA -- Graveside rites for Troy Dale Farris will be 2 p.m. Monday at Lakeview Cemetery with Ray Hilliard officiating.
Born Feb. 26, 1962, at Fort Worth, Texas, to Tommy Joe and Arlene Rhody Farris, he died Jan. 13, 1999, at Huntsville, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Tina McIntire, Fort Worth; one son, Troy Farris Jr., Beaumont, Texas; stepdaughter, Jade McIntire, Fort Worth; mother, Marietta; father, Reno, Texas; one brother, Joe Farris, Marietta; and one sister, Cynthia Watts, Springtown, Texas.
Services are under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home.
Services for Hazel Royal Love, 78, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harvey-Douglas Chapel with the Rev. Billy Smith officiating. Interment will be at Pruitt Cemetery.
Daughter of Dewith and Savanah Heathcock Richards, Mrs. Love was born Jan. 23, 1920, in Ardmore. She died Jan. 14, 1999, in the local hospital following an extended illness.
She married Otis Love here and was a lifetime resident of Ardmore. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; sons, Jerry Royal, Atlanta, Ga., Frank Royal, Carlock, Calif., Randy, Arlen and Roger Royal, Ardmore; five daughters, Frances Smith, Velma Roberts, Sandra Royal, Clara Love and DeAnna Love, all of Ardmore; two brothers, Arlin Richards, San Francisco, and Glen, California; two sisters, Irene and Willie Jewell, both of Ballico, Calif.; 29 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Bearers will be Dee Leon DeBord, Melvin Miller, Gary Caldwell, Bobby Love, Kevin and Mike Royal.
WILSON -- Services for Richard Thomas Morris, 77, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Wilson First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Morris officiating. Interment will be at Hewitt Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
Born Oct. 20, 1921, at Tishomingo, to Benjamin F. and Irene Tutt Morris, he died Jan. 13, 1999, at his residence in Ardmore.
Reared in Tishomingo, he graduated from Murray State College and received his degree in engineering technology from Oklahoma State University. He was employed as an engineer for Halliburton International and lived in several towns and five foreign countries from 1969 until he retired in 1984. He was an Army veteran of World War II and member of VFW Post 5474. He and Gwendolyn LaVerne Davis were married Dec. 28, 1946, at Gainesville, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Glenn E., Tampa, Fla., and Mikel D., League City, Texas; a sister, Erma Welch, Mead; a brother, Vernon, Bromide; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Alan, in 1994.
Bearers will be Carl Cumpton, G.C. Roberts, Mike, Lantz and Vernon Morris. J.C. Kerr is honorary bearer.
SULPHUR -- Services for Deborah Kay Stephens, 39, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cowley-Krien Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Brown officiating. Interment will be at Drake Cemetery.
Mrs. Stephens died Jan. 11, 1999, at her home. She was born July 21, 1959, at Coffeyville, Kan., to Johnnie and Janice Nickle Brown.
She moved from southern California to Sulphur in 1971, returned to California then moved back to Sulphur in 1978. She was a correctional officer.
Survivors include two sons, Jason and Matthew; and two daughters, Jamie Stephens and Amber Billings, all of Sulphur; two brothers, Bill Nickle, California, and John Ruark, Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren.
Bearers will be Thomas Weldman, Jimmy Brown, David Sweetman, Jeff Sanders, Robert and Ernie Graves.
SULPHUR -- Services for Carrie Jane Lynn, 46, Claremore, were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Cowley-Krien Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jean Wilson officiating. Interment was at Salem Cemetery.
Mrs. Lynn died Jan. 11, 1998, at her home. She was born Jan. 30, 1951, at Duncan, to Everett L. and Juanita Williamson Amos.
She lived in Sulphur until 1989, then in Tulsa six years before moving to Claremore. She was a Presbyterian. She helped with school and church programs and with gospel singings.
Survivors include four sons, Chris, Sulphur, Gregg, Martin and Rodney, Claremore; a daughter, Marlana Harrison, and two brothers, Alvis and Leonard Amos, all of Tulsa; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Amos.
ANADARKO -- Graveside services for Nathan G. Graham, 67, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko, with the Rev. Russell Cheatham officiating.
Graham died Jan. 12, 1998, at his home in Tulsa after an extended illness. He was born June 27, 1930, in Oklahoma City, to Thomas E. and Theresa Gibson Graham.
While a student at Classen High School, he received the Joseph Hester Patterson Award in athletics, was named All-State in football, and was a member of the state champion baseball team. He graduated from The University of Oklahoma College of Business in 1952, lettering in track and field, and served with the Army in Korea. He graduated from the OU College of Law in 1957.
He practiced law in the state 40 years with service as county attorney in Washington County, assistant district attorney in Custer and Beckham counties. He was appointed by President Richard M. Nixon as U.S. Attorney for northern Oklahoma and served from 1969 until 1977. He was in private practice in Bartlesville, Tulsa and Clinton, and had been admitted to practice in federal, district and appellate courts, as well as as the U.S. Court of Claims, Washington, D.C.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Oklahoma Bar Association, Kappa Sigma, Masons, Lion and Rotary clubs.
Survivors include his wife, Florence, of the home; two daughters, Ann Marie Dobbs, Bixby, Sally Jane Reser, Healdton; a brother, Thomas Jr., Oklahoma City; stepchildren, Linda Bovasso, Houston, and Dr. Steve Bovasso, Tulsa; and four granddaughters.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Reser Funeral Home, Healdton.
MILBURN -- Services for Rocky Edward Pettyjohn II, 16, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Milburn High School gymnasium with the Revs. Tim Hill, Larry Odam and Gaylan Brumley officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Hugo.
Pettyjohn died Jan. 13, 1998, in Oklahoma City. He was born Nov. 23, 1981, in Chickasha.
A student at Milburn High School, he was on the student council, a member of the Quiz Bowl and manager of the baseball and basketball teams. He was nominated for the Science Award for 1997-98 and was Mr. Youth Camp 1997 Summer Church of God.
Survivors include his parents, Rocky and Brenda Pettyjohn, Marlow; and grandparents, Bill and Janell Sellers, Marlow, and J.L. and Jackie Pettyjohn, Hugo.
Corbin Funeral Home will direct services.
SULPHUR -- Graveside services for Ora Edith Pruitt, 90, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oaklawn Cemetery with the Rev. Willard McCartney Jr. officiating.
Mrs. Pruitt died Jan. 12, 1998, in Sulphur. She was born July 25, 1907, at Dougherty, to Andrew and Nettie Gow Dockery.
A lifetime resident of this area, she married Ralph Oscar Pruitt Jan. 27, 1927, in Sulphur, and was a member of Dougherty First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 3, 1990; a son, R.O., in 1992; two brothers, Obert and Terrell Dockery; and a sister, Etter Hager.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth, Sulphur; a sister, Florence Conver, Arizona; and seven grandchildren.
Clagg Funeral Home will direct services.
MARIETTA -- Services for Virginia King will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, at First Christian Church with the Rev. Judy Gayler officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.
Mrs. King of Marietta, was born Nov. 12, 1914, in Kansas, to Ralph R. and Grace McLain Hand. She passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 13, 1998, at Love County-Mercy Health Center at the age of 83 years, two months and one day.
Mrs. King had lived most of her life in Love County. She married Lamonte King Aug. 14, 1938, at Wichita, Kan. He preceded her in death Oct. 2, 1991. She and her late husband owned and operated the King Movie Theater 40 years, and for a short time operated Queen Theater. In 1977 Ms. King retired from teaching in the Marietta Public Schools after many years of service. She was a member of Retired Teachers Association and First Christian Church, where she was very involved.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Kay and Chuck Martin, Marietta; a grandson, Tony Martin, Marietta; and two great-granddaughters, Amanda and Cherokee Martin.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Cochran, James Howard, Jerry McGill, Richard Cain, Jack Drennan and Caesar Long. Honorary bearers are Monroe Thompson, Claude Brannan, Jimmy "Bud" Dixon, Dr. Tom O'Connor and Stayton Saunders.
The family has requested that memorials be made to First Christian Church or the research foundation of choice.
