Billie L. Rhodes
LONE GROVE -- Services for Bill Rhodes, 72, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at New Hope Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Ivy Henson officiating. Interment will be at Lone Grove Cemetery under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Rhodes died Dec. 17, 1997, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born Nov. 30, 1925, at Banty, to Ernest L. and Effie Colson Rhodes.
A lifelong resident of this area, he served with the Navy during World War II then returned home to work in the construction business. He was later a volunteer with the Carter County Department of Human Services and was recognized for his efforts.
Survivors include a son, Marty, of the home; a brother, Ernest, Ardmore; and two sisters, Dixie Nix, Edmond, and Fay Dewbre, Lone Grove.
Bearers will be Harvey Wilson, Jim Sons, Manuel Steudeman, Troy, Homer "Pete" and Homer Duke. Honorary bearers are James Bullard, Arlyn Dewbre, William and Billy Fleming, Jim Ed Johnson and Thomas C. Carter.

Bessie R. Parsons
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Bessie Raye Parsons, 68, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Corbin Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Joey Lansdale officiating. Interment will be at Tishomingo Cemetery.
Mrs. Parsons died Dec. 15, 1997, in Paris, Texas. She was born Jan. 29, 1929, at Tishomingo, to Jerry M. and Hattie Woods Brown.
Reared at Antlers, she married Jack Bernard Parsons in 1960 at Miami, and had lived in Paris the past 2ð years. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include a son, Robert, Claycoma, Mo.; four brothers, Albert and Jerry Brown, Antlers, Calvin Brown, Redding, Calif., and Bob Brown, Midwest City; five sisters, Bernice Handland, Tampa, Fla., Delphia Larson, Tucson, Ariz., Barbara Hill, Albuquerque, N.M., Willetta Brown, Tacoma, Wash., and Virginia Blake, Novato, Calif. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Linn; a sisters, Beatrice Brown; and a grandson.
Bearers will be Jack Helm, Curtis Belcher, Mitch, Calvin, Albert, Bob and Jerry Brown.

Beckey Lynn Freeman
Funeral services for Becky Lynn Freeman, 42, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Chapel with interment in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Ervin Donaldson.
Mrs. Freeman, of Moore, was born Aug. 17, 1955, at Odessa, Texas, and died in Moore on Dec. 19, 1997, from injuries sustained in an auto accident. She had lived in Moore all her life and graduated from Moore High School.
She is survived by a daughter, Danielle Anita Freeman, Del Ray Beach, Fla.; a stepson, Morgan Freeman of Florida; someone who loved her, Brent Scott of Moore; her grandfather, Lee Groomer of Ardmore; uncle and aunt, John and Gayle Smith of Ardmore; uncles, Frank Prater of Canton, Ohio, and Doug Prater of Greenville, Texas; aunts, Exie Gibson of Moore and Anita Davout of Colorado; and many cousins.
Pallbearers will be Harvey and Harley Norman, Terry Moore, Charles West, Max Woods and Danny Groomer.

Mary Dowd
Graveside services for Mary Dowd, 80, will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Rose Hill Cemetery with Elder Robert Hudgins officiating.
Born Feb. 28, 1917, in Ardmore, to William A. and Myrtle Burns McCauley, she died Dec. 19, 1997, in a Marietta hospital.
She was a homemaker and member of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include a sister, Marie Vincent, Salinas, Calif.; a brother, Louis McCauley, Ardmore; and a son.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman McCauley in 1919 and Herbert McCauley in 1967.
Services are under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.

Esther Gaines Burleson
Services for Esther Gaines Burleson, 102, former Carter and Love County resident, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Mount Olive Baptist Church, Newport, with her grandson, Bro. Leon Ivory of Dallas, Texas, officiating. Interment will be in Cheek Cemetery under the direction of Ragsdale-Grant and Sons Mortuary.
She died Dec. 17, 1997, in an Oklahoma City hospital.
Born Dec. 6, 1895, in Love County, Indian Territory, to Eddie and Susie Smith Gaines, she was a lifelong resident of the Carter and Love County area. She was a previous resident of Ghana Village Nursing Home in Oklahoma City.
Mrs. Burleson was a housewife and longtime member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. She and Charles Edward Burleson were married in 1914. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded by two sons, Jessie and C.L. Burleson; and one daughter, Susie Burleson.
Survivors include three daughters, Laura Ann Norwood, Lawton, Lucille Finley, Ardmore, Ruth Leach, Oklahoma City; five sons, Samuel, Oklahoma City, Billy, Denver, William, Fort Worth, Texas, Leroy, Richmond, Calif., and J.D., Jones; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers while her granddaughters will serve as flower bearers.

Jeanne Lowenstein Riesen
Services for Jeanne Lowenstein Riesen, 74, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Philip's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Ernest Maddon officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Born Sept. 8, 1924, in Ardmore, to Harry and Helen Gillespie Lowenstein, she died Dec. 20, 1997, in Ardmore.
A lifelong Ardmore resident, she was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church. She married John Easley Riesen in 1943. He preceded her in death in 1960.
Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Martin, Ardmore; one son, John Riesen, Irving, Texas; two sisters, Harryette Boone and Elaine Coe, both of Ardmore; and one grandchild.
Bearers will be Gary Dillard, Mark Riesen, H.A. Pruitt, Burke Chandler, Mike Vanway and Ken Slaughter. Honorary bearers will be Joe Ben Ponder, T. Fred Collins, Ben Mobley, Ken Milburn, Ross Brunner and Al Watson.
Services under the direction of the Craddock Funeral Home.

Adrian Glenn "Mac" McBride
Graveside services for Adrian Glenn "Mac" McBride, 74, will be 2 p.m. Monday in St. Mary's Cemetery with the Rev. John Vrana officiating.
Mr. McBride, a resident of Ardmore and Port Isabel, Texas, died Dec. 17, 1997, in a Brownsville, Texas, hospital.
Son of the late Chester and Maude Taylor McBride, he lived in Port Isabel since 1989 but retained an Ardmore residence. He retired from the Shell Oil Company in 1979 after 27 years of employment. He the became an oil and gas inspector for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, retiring in 1989.
A World War II Navy veteran, he served aboard the USS Highlands and was awarded an American Campaign Medal, two Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Bronze Stars and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was a member of American Legion Post 498 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Port Isabel.
McBride had been a minor league baseball player and was a member of the Laguna Madre Golf Association and the Outdoor Resorts Gold Association.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene, of the home; two daughters, Adrianna Bivens, Wellington, Colo., and Karen Erenfeld, Denver; one son, Steven, Ardmore; a sister, Sue Low, Port Isabel; a brother, Ernest Carpenter, Winston-Salem, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister, LaTon Wright.
Memorials may be made to the Iwo Jim Memorial Fund, c/o Marine Military Academy, 320 Iwo Jima Blvd., Harlingen, Texas 78550.
Services under the direction of the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.

Robert H. 'Bob' Campbell
MARIETTA -- Services for Robert H. "Bob" Campbell will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Eastside Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Higle and the Rev. Steve Gardner officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
Born Dec. 15, 1923, at Leon, Oklahoma, to John Robert and Georgia Elizabeth Williams Campbell, Mr. Campbell passed away Saturday afternoon, Dec. 20, 1997, at his residence following a brief illness, at the age of 74 years and 5 days.
Mr. Campbell lived most of his life in Love County. He married Rozelle Hill on Jan. 27, 1947, at Gainesville, Texas. He was a retired homebuilder and was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army, and enjoyed gardening in his spare time. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Georgia E. Campbell; one brother, Jim Campbell; and by two sisters, Mary Lou Campbell and Jo Walker.
Survivors include his wife, Rozelle Campbell, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Jim Bob and Tabby Campbell, Marietta; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Ronnie Norton, Marietta, Deborah and Jud Deaner, Heidelberg, Germany; brother, Larkin Campbell, Conroe, Texas; sisters, Gladys Knapp and Elva Kerley, both of Ardmore, and Margaret Stewart, Marietta; mother-in-law, Jay Hill, Marietta; a special nephew, Robert H. Kerley, Ardmore; grandchildren, Kristi and Griff Servati, Robert Shane Norton, Aaron Rudd, Telina Rudd, Ariel Deaner; and great-granddaughter, Raigan Elizabeth Servati.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Robert Shane Norton, Griff Servati, Aaron Rudd, and cousins, Bob Longest, Eddie Pat Spears and Darrell Williams. Honorary bearers will be Robert H. Kerley, Fred Walker, Manuel Nix, Willis Choate IV, Bill Grovenburg, G.W. Flanagan, Sam Barrick and Jimmy Hill.
The family has requested that donations be made to Cross Timbers Hospice, 1514 Meadow Lane, Ardmore, OK 73401.
Services are under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.

Robert A. Tucker
MARIETTA -- Services for Robert A. Tucker, 69, will be Monday in New Jersey with interment in Calvary Cemetery, Queens, N.Y.
Born June 30, 1928, at Mount Vernon, N.Y., to Robert J. and Rosa Woelfler Tucker, Mr. Tucker passed away Thursday morning, Dec. 18, 1997, at Mercy Health - Love County, at the age of 69 years, five months and 18 days.
Mr. Tucker had lived in Marietta the past two years, moving here from North Miami Beach, Fla. He lived most of his life in Dumont, N.J. He attended New York University Graduate School of Business, concentrating in accounting, and also attended Iona College where he earned a bachelor of business administration in finance. He was a CPA in New York State by 1955. He was employed with Lexington Management Corporation for seven years and many other business companies. He had a private CPA practice in Hackensack, N.J., until his retirement in 1993.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dumont, N.J., and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Tucker was a charter member of Oritani Chapter of the United States Power Squadron in which he was a lifetime member and held the rank of Past Rear Commander. He was a member of various organizations including the New York Sailing Club, the Orienta Yacht Club of Mamaroneck, N.Y., and the "Paymaster" of the Corinthians of New York City. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Angelini.
Survivors include his companion, Beverly Wilson, of the home; two sons, Robert M. Tucker, North Syracuse, N.J., and Daniel C. Tucker of Charleston, Mass.; three daughters, Mary Ellen Nitti, Mt. Laurel, N.J., Patricia T. Frederiks, Parsippany, N.J., and Jeanne T. Milovic, Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, John J. Tucker, Wellington, Fla., and Thomas R. Tucker, Clayton, Mo.; a sister, Elizabeth Treacy, Miami Shores, Fla.; one aunt, Dorothy Palmer, Mt. Vernon, N.Y.; and 12 grandchildren.

James William Thomas
Graveside services for James William Thomas, 50, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Province Cemetery with Brad Buchanan officiating.
A former Ardmore resident, he died Dec. 17, 1997, at his Ponca City home.
Born Jan. 18, 1947, in Ardmore to Buck and Faydene Salmon Thomas, he grew up in Ardmore and graduated from Dickson High School.
A farmer and rancher, he worked in Oklahoma, Montana and Wyoming. He married Laura Kathleen Yelton on Nov. 23, 1988, in Sheridan, Wyo. They lived in Wyoming before moving to Cherokee, then to Ponca City in 1997.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy, of the home; two sons, Billy G., Oklahoma City, and Chris, Cherokee; three stepsons, Chuck and Danny Ash, of Ponca City, and Jimmy Ash, Ardmore; three sisters, Judy Henderson, Mahnomen, Minn., Glenda Henderson, Flum, Minn., and Betty Brooks, Winfield, Kan.; four brothers, Gary Owens, Bill Thomas and Wayne Musgrove, all of Ardmore, and Bobby "Pete" Thomas, Fayetteville, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Province Assembly of God Church.
Services under the direction of the Grace Memorial Chapel, Ponca City.

Everett Leon Templeton
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Everett Leon Templeton, 51, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Corbin Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Jim Lawrence and Gay Templeton officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m. Monday at Blue Ridge Cemetery, Calvin.
Born Nov. 22, 1946, in Oklahoma City, to Everett A. and Nola Moore Templeton, he died Dec. 19, 1997, in Mill Creek.
A mechanic, he attended school in Bethel. He and Wanda Jane Howell were married Dec. 30, 1977, in Tecumseh.
Survivors include his father; one son, Jason, Tulsa; one daughter, Stacy Brown, Tulsa; one stepdaughter, Marsha Robins, Stillwater; one brother, Tony, Tecumseh; one sister, Patricia Kolarick, Abilene, Texas; and three grandchildren.
Bearers will be Bryan Barnes, Sean Pratt, Billy Tom Erichsen, Joe Vielma, Gary McCarter and Robert Smith.

Wanda Howell Templeton
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Wanda Jane Howell Templeton, 45, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Corbin Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Jim Lawrence and Gay Templeton officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Blue Ridge Cemetery, Calvin.
Born Aug. 16, 1952, in Holdenville, to Bill L. and Wanda Young Howell, she died Dec. 19, 1997, in Mill Creek.
A secretary at Murray State College, she attended school in Atwood. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Tishomingo and the Blue River Car Club. She married Everett Leon Templeton on Dec. 30, 1977, in Tecumseh.
Survivors include her mother Wanda Parks and husband Roy, Atwood; one daughter, Marsha Robins, Stillwater; one stepson, Jason Templeton, Tulsa; one stepdaughter, Stacy Brown, Tulsa; two brothers, Colin Howell, Connerville, and Elvis Howell, Stillwater; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Bearers will be Bryan Barnes, Sean Pratt, Billy Tom Erichsen, Joe Vielma, Gary McCarter and Robert Smith.
