RINGLING -- Services for Ray R. Reynolds, 78, will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Community Fellowship Assembly of God Church. The Rev. John Douthit will officiate with interment in Dixie Cemetery, north of Ringling.
Born Jan. 27, 1919, in Loco to H.R. and Etta Young Reynolds, he died Dec. 21, 1997, in an Ardmore hospital after an extended illness.
He had lived in this area most of his life, marrying Dovie Marshall, March 23, 1955, in Healdton. He had been a farmer, rancher, carpenter and oil field worker and had been postmaster at the Loco Post Office from 1957-81. He was a gunner in the U.S. Army infantry in the South Pacific during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; a son, Tommy Ray, Ringling; five daughters, Susie Bratcher, Oklahoma City, Judy Brabham, Fort Worth, Texas, Sally Garrett, Yukon, Rise Pace, Coppell, Texas, and Peggy Creel, Brownwood, Texas; one sister, Thelma Hopkins, Borger, Texas; and four grandchildren.
Honorary bearers will be Kenneth Snell and Lee Ray Wilson.
Reser Funeral Home will direct services.
DAVIS -- Services for Peggy D. Kennedy, 69, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fox Funeral Chapel. Pastor Jerry Lemley will officiate with interment in Green Hill Cemetery.
Born Aug. 19, 1928, in Sulphur to Charlie and Leoma Woodruff, she died Dec. 20, 1997, in the local hospital.
She married Grady R. Kennedy, June 20, 1949, and had lived most of her life in Davis, where she was a restaurant operator. She was a member of The Faith Center and the American Legion Auxiliary. Her husband and two sisters, Patsy Woodruff and June Frost, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her mother, Sulphur; a son, Larry, Davis; two brothers, Jerry Woodruff, Shawnee, and Monty Woodruff, Dallas, Texas.
Fox Funeral Home will direct services.
GUYMON -- Services for Lelia Melton Freeman, 88, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Henson-Novak Chapel. The Rev. Nunley will officiate with interment in Elm Hurst Cemetery.
Born Nov. 26, 1909, in Wilson County, Tenn., to William Spencer and Nellie Parker Quesenbury, she died Dec. 20, 1997, in Durant.
She married James Melton in October of 1933 in Guymon and had lived the past 16 years in Coleman. She was a bookkeeper by profession and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Texhoma.
Survivors include two daughters, Lue Dean and Sue Robinette, Coleman; a brother, Hollis Quesenbury, Hardesty; a sister, Elizabeth Brooks, Goodwill; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Lorene Hudson; and three brothers, Clarence, Sammie and Harrison Quesenbury.
Bearers will be Barry Brooks, Arnoldo Portilio, Mike Woods and Dwayne, Devoid and Kenny Quesenbury.
Services are under the direction of Corbin Funeral Home in Tishomingo and Henson-Novak Funeral Home in Guymon.
SULPHUR - Services for Jan C. Gardner, 58, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Cowley-Krien Funeral Chapel. Rev. Dwayne Johnson will officiate with interment in Drake Cemetery.
Born Oct. 11, 1939, in Altus to Carroll and Dorthy Cornelius, she died Saturday in Oklahoma City.
Raised in Altus, she married Kenneth Gardner there in 1957. She moved to North Carolina in 1955 and then back to Altus where she lived until 1960 when she moved to Sulphur. She lived until 1971. She was a member of the Nazarene Church. Her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of the home; two daughters, Dee Dee Price, Asher, and Carol Ann Rankin, Abeline, Texas; a brother, Ronnie Cornelius, Blair; an aunt, Alta Bates, Altus; and six grandchildren.
Bearers will be Bill Walker, Boddy Rose, Joe Garrison, George Bolen, Mike Lee and R.J. Smithey. Honorary bearers are Kenneth Claire and Jack Fisher.
Services are under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home.
SPRINGER -- Services for Billy Amon Burns, 77, will be 3 p.m. Friday in the Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Chapel. The Rev. Ken Campbell will officiate, with interment in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Born March 3, 1920, in Shawnee to Bertie and Iola M. Burns, he died Dec. 23, 1997, in a local hospital.
Burns served in the Navy during World War II, and was a rancher and a welder for 50 years. He had lived in Springer most of his life and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the American Legion, the Moose Lodge and was a Mason. He married the former Lurline B. Owens on June 8, 1968, in Rankin, Texas. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie J.; a stepdaughter, Karen McCallister; and a sister, Katherine Stone.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; three stepdaughters, Peggy Crawford, McAlester, Janis Owens-Martinez, El Paso, Texas, and Vicki Barrett, Spring, Texas; three brothers, Bob and Jack, Oklahoma City, and Kenneth, Springer; a sister, Mary Frances Eddings, Oklahoma City; 10 stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Steve Ford, Steve Ford Jr., Tommy Goodson, Keith Smith, Gary Whitener and Doug Bennett. Honorary bearers will be Bill Lavender and Joe Travato.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Funeral services for Burl F. Chadwell, 77, will be Friday morning at 11 a.m. in the Harvey-Douglas Chapel with the Rev. Robert D. Lee officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Chadwell, who died Dec. 23, 1997, at the Oklahoma Veterans Center, was born Jan. 23, 1920, in Ardmore to Burl and Eula Bishop Chadwell. A graduate of Ardmore High School, he served with the Air Force during World War II in the China-Inda-Burma tTheatres of the war. He was retired from the city engineers office and was a member of the First Orthodox Baptist Church, Builders Sunday School Class, VFW Post 4574, Military Memorial Museum, and the Class of 1939 Breakfast Club.
He and Jamie Alexander were married June 14, 1942, in Yuma, Ariz.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Creigh and Nancy Chadwell of Ardmore; two granddaughters, Shana and her husband Steven Callahan of Norman, and Lynley Chadwell of Ardmore; two sisters, Bernice Thomas of Ardmore and Jo Etta Garner of Irving, Texas.
Serving as bearers will be Jack Sloan, Charles Manley, Bill Burwell, Clyde Chastain, Elwood Hattensty and Lonnie Long.
Services will be under the direction of the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Services for Virgil R. Martin, 67, will be today at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Tolbert officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Virgil R. Martin was born on June 23, 1910, in Cord, Ark., to Ira and Cora Martin. He passed this life on Dec. 23, 1997, in a local hospital at the age of 87 years and six months. Virgil moved to Drumwright where he graduated from Drumwright High School in 1929. He married Kathleen Martin on Aug. 27, 1932, in Chillicothe, Mo., where they both attended college. Most of his adult life he spent in the Lubbock, Texas, area where he retired in 1987 as a car salesman. He moved to Ardmore in March of 1993. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Kathaleen, of the home; a son, Roy Martin, Ardmore; a daughter, Evelyn Leggitt, New Braunfels, Texas; four grandsons, Brett Leggitt, Vacaville, Calif., Scott Leggitt, Castroville, Texas, Danny Martin, Shawnee, and Cory Martin, Ardmore; two granddaughters, Debbie Harless, Ardmore, and Donna Hubbard, Shawnee; one stepgrandson, Joseph Inglett, Ardmore; one stepgranddaughter, Tracy Lemmons, Carrollton, Texas; 15 great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
Pall bearers will be Scott Leggitt, Danny, Cory, and D.R. Martin, Joe Inglett and Colby Inlow. Honorary pall bearers will be Chris and Brad Harless, Kenny Martin, T.J. Hubbard, Jimmy and Bobby Lemons, Gary Inglett and Brett Leggitt.
Services are under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home.
Services for Charles L. "Sam" Braunagel, 70, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. John Vrana officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
A resident of Dallas, he was born Jan. 6, 1927, in Wichita, Kan., to Henry and Rose Braunagel, and passed away Dec. 24, 1997, in Ardmore, having taken a detour off Route 66.
Braunagel was a graduate of Kansas State University and was in the oil business.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, BIll and Denise Braunagel, a daughter, Caren Braunagel, and two grandchildren, Brooks and Bailey Braunagel, all of Ardmore; five sisters, Cally Crane and Betsy Braunagel, both of Wichita, Kan., Rosie Wilson, Kauai, Hawaii, Wannie Christman, Houston, and Emily Glass, Tulsa; and a brother, John, Houston.
The family asks that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association.
Services will be under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
DOUGHERTY -- Services for Glenn Eugene Coll, 68, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Dougherty Baptist Church. Willard McCartney Jr. will officiate, with interment in the Dougherty Cemetery.
Born Oct. 10, 1929, in Dougherty to Gene and Lillie M. Pugh Coll, he died Dec. 25, 1997, in the Ardmore hospital.
Coll grew up in Dougherty, then moved to Arizona. In 1970 he moved to Davis and had lived in Dougherty the past 14 years. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a 32 degree Mason. He attended First Baptist Church.
He is survived by four sons, Earl G., Jerry L., Terry D. and Larry G., all of Davis; a sister, Charlene Encapera, Oklahoma City; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Joel Mann, Doug Akers, Buddy Todd, Arron Coll, Monty Lucas and David Billy Lucas. Honorary bearers will be Edward Busby, Glenn Hale and George Pinkston.
Cowley-Krien Funeral Home of Sulphur will direct services.

COOPER, Texas -- Graveside services for Richard Elwin Byrns, 81, San Antonio, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper, Texas.
Byrns was born Aug. 28, 1916, in Enloe, Texas, to Albert R. and Maude Enloe Byrns. He died Dec. 24, 1997.
He married Margaret Woodruff on Dec 25, 1943. She preceded him in death Jan. 26, 1996. He retired after a 45-year career as a Boy Scouts of America professional.
He is survived by two daughters, Julia Jarrell, Fredricks, Texas, and Margaret Wallace, Ardmore; and an adopted brother, John Stockton, San Antonio.
Services are under the direction of Delta Funeral Home, Cooper.
MARLOW -- Services for Hattie Lee Wright, 102, Pernell, will be 2 p.m. Monday in the Church of Christ in Velma with Jerry Rogers officiating. Interment will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of the Wooster Funeral Home.
She was born Feb. 24, 1895, in Colbert to Sam and Sallie Peacock Gibson. She died Dec. 25, 1997, in Duncan.
She grew up and lived in Garvin and Stephens counties most of her life. She married A.B. Wright on May 29, 1911. He preceded her in death June 2, 1968. She was also preceded in death by three daughters, Valter Mitchell, Sylvia Florence and Wilma Gray.
Survivors include four daughters, Vera Solomon, Duncan, Helen Solomon, Hobbs, N.M., Freda Ince, Ratliff City, and Betty Chandler, Countyline; six sons, Vernon, Denver City, Texas, Irvan, Countyline, Lee, of Wilson, Eugene, Whittier, Calif., and Herman, of Duncan; 45 granchildren; 90 great-grandchildren; and 69 great-great-granchildren.
DAVIS -- Services for Minnie L. Pullen, 87, were Saturday at the First Christian Church in Davis with the Rev. G.C. Sharp officiating. Interment was at Green Hill Cemetery.
Born March 3, 1910, in Dickson, Tenn., to Tom and Lula Cory Hoger, she died Dec. 25, 1997, in Pauls Valley.
She married Walker Pullen on Nov. 15, 1933, in Ardmore. He preceded her in death Dec. 23, 1938. She was a bookkeeper for Drake Farms in Davis for many years.
Survivors include a son, Jerry P., Davis; a sister, Betty Goldsberry, Stockton, Calif; two granchildren; five great-granchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Fox Funeral Home directed services.
