WYNNEWOOD -- Services for Beadie Readnour were Monday at Eastern Gate Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Rhea officiating. Interment was at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home.
Mrs. Readnour died Jan. 3, 1998, in Pauls Valley. She was born Aug. 17, 1912, in Garvin County, to E.C. and Sallie Horner.
Reared at Stratford, she married Richard "Dick" Readnour in Pauls Valley and lived there until the death of her husband on Dec. 4, 1983. She then moved to Wynnewood and to Pauls Valley. She was a member of Eastern Gate Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie Nelms, Wynnewood, Sharon Williams Ardmore, and Terry Peters, Inola; a brother, Frank Horner, California; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Bearers were Mike Perry, David and Don Mallow, Cletus Dixon, Steven Jolly and James Wolfe. Honorary bearers were J.C. Ensey, Oscar Blankenship and Waymon McElhaney.
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Halley T. Brown, 95, were scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Corbin Chapel with the Rev. Don Tims officiating. Interment was at Troy Cemetery.
Ms. Brown died Jan. 3, 1998, in Tishomingo. She was born Oct. 5, 1902, at Troy, Indian Territory, to Martin and Mammie Brown.
She was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Filmore. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Rachael, Lena, Julia and Lonie; and a brother, James.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Services for Raymond Palmer are pending from Harvey-Douglas
Funeral Home. Palmer died Jan. 6, 1998, at his residence.
Among his survivors are his parents, Raymond and Millie Palmer, Ardmore.
Funeral services for Edna Della Leonard, 81, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998, at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Chapel with Dr. Walt Spradling officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery at Wilson.
The daughter of the late Charles Andrew and Myrtle Dellar Ashburn Henley, she was born April 4, 1916, at Wilson, Okla. She passed away Jan. 4, 1998, in a Norman hospital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Leonard had been a resident of Ardmore for more than 30 years before moving to Norman in 1994. She was married to Troy Leonard on Sept. 29, 1934. He preceded her in death March 13, 1964. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Rosella Poff of Norman; two sisters, Juanita Foutch of Wilson, and Addie Williams of Ardmore; three grandchildren, Brenda Franks, Cynthia Culberson and Jimmy Dean Poff; six great-grandchildren, Joey Franks, Misty Binkley, Danyelle and Nicole Ward, Jearmey and Brandi Poff; and a great-great-granddaughter, Samara Binkley. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Bessie Cossett; a son, J.D. Leonard; three brothers, Albert, Edgar and William "Bill" Henley; and a sister, Sarah Keith.
Serving as bearers will be Jimmy Poff, Randy Culberson, Dainel Binkley, Jerry Williams, Johnny Henley and Bill Inselman.
Services for Richard Benjamin Kerr, 77, were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Harvey-Douglas Chapel with Roy Hannah officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Born to James B. and Lillie Ferguson Kerr July 17, 1920, in Ardmore, Kerr died Jan. 4, 1998, in an Oklahoma City hospital.
A resident of the Ardmore area much of his life, he was a civilian employee at Tinker Air Force Base before he retired. He was an Army veteran of World War II and member of Disabled American Veterans. He had lived in Bethany the past 25 years.
He and Joyce Ann Belt were married April 6, 1947, at Gainesville, Texas.
Survivors include his wife of Dickson; two daughters, Lynda Sills, Moore, and Susa Hopper, Grove; three sisters, Anna Campbell, Ardmore, Ethel Pigg, Midwest City, and Bennie Frensley, Midwest City; a brother, R.E., Wayne; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin; and three sisters, Odessa Millner, Merle Baily and Bertha Ford.
Bearers are J.B. Means, Casey and Zachary Sills, David and Harvey Hopper, and James Kerr.
WAPANUCKA -- Services for Vera Robertson will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Corbin Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery.
Mrs. Robertson died Jan. 4, 1998, in Durant. She was born Oct. 5, 1913, at Umpire, Ark., to William N. and Pearl Davis Pate.
She was a beautician and member of Wapanucka Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, C.D., Wapanucka; two sisters, Ella Reed, Wapanucka, and Mable McNutt, Antlers; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence D. Robertson.
MARIETTA -- Services for Maggie B. Autry, 97, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mahota Memorial Presbyterian Church with Dr. Glen Pool and the Revs. Lawrence Anderson and Ben Scott officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Autry died Jan. 6, 1998, at the local hospital. She was born Oct. 25, 1900, in Grapevine, Texas, to Augustus and Flora Coker Thompson.
A resident of Love County since 1918, she married Omri "Bud" Autry in 1920, at Marietta, and was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years before she retired. She was a member of Mahota Presbyterian Church and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 15, 1981; a brother, Roland Thompson; and sister, Gladys Smith.
Survivors include a son, David, Blanchard; two daughters, Jane Brannan, Marietta, and Peggy Stafford, Norman; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Brooks Howard, John Brannan, Dr. Brannan Smoot, Eddie, Joel and David Autry. Honorary bearers are Eldridge Colston, Robert Hughes, Joe Pete Martin, Dr. J.T. O'Connor and Sonny Horn.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Memorial services for Virginia Pauline Norton Mortensen will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998, at the Scottsdale Bible Chapel.
Pauline died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at her daughter's home in Phoenix following a 7ð-year battle with cancer. Her husband, Mort; daughter, Terri Lynn Clarke; brother, Henry W. Norton Jr.; and a hospice volunteer were at her bedside.
She was born Nov. 28, 1936, at Mannsville, Okla., to Henry Wilson and Patty Virginia Saxon Norton.
Pauline graduated from Ardmore High School and from Draughn's Business College, Wichita Falls, Texas. On Sept. 21, 1962, she married Claude J. Mortensen in Waco, Texas. She was employed by Mountain Bell for 28 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Her other memberships included Beta Sigma Phi and the Pink Lady Volunteers of Guadalupe Valley Hospital in Seguin, Texas. She attended the Scottsdale Bible Church and actively worked for orphans and homeless children in Romania and Phoenix.
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Terri Lynn Clarke, Phoenix, and Brenda Jo Woodward, Edwards Air Force Base, California; four grandsons, Trey, Brandon, Austin and Connor Woodward; her parents of Ardmore, Okla.; a sister, Wanda Whiteside, Guthrie, Okla.; brothers, Henry W. Norton Jr., Kingwood, Texas, and David Norton, Katy, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to M.D. Anderson Bone Marrow Cancer Research in Houston.
Graveside rites for Raymond Palmer Jr. will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at McAlister Cemetery with the Rev. Melvin Palmer officiating.
Palmer died Jan. 6, 1998, in the local hospital. He was born Oct. 24, 1957, in Ardmore and had lived here all his life.
He is survived by a daughter, Telesa Palmer; his parents, Raymond and Millie Palmer; and five brothers, Jimmy, John, Winston, David and James, all of Ardmore; four sisters, Glenda Linderman, also Ardmore, Norma Higginbotham, Garland, Texas, Rebecca Collins and Lahoma Lowe, Tishomingo; and a grandchild.
Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home will direct services.
DAVIS -- A memorial service for Forrest "Sonny" Clare, 65, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Fox Funeral Chapel.
Born April 13, 1932, in Phoenix, to Forrest and Creda Blackburn Clare, he died Jan. 5, 1998, in Ardmore.
Mr. Clare lived in Davis most of his life. He was an oil field worker.
Survivors include three daughters, Belinda Diamond, Cheryl Eldred and Kathy Clare, all of Davis; two sons, Teddy Clare, Davis, and Owen Clare, Norman; several grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Eleanor Margaret Montgomery, 53, will be at 4 p.m. today at Corbin Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Joey Lansdale officiating. Interment will be at Tishomingo Cemetery.
Mrs. Montgomery died Jan. 4, 1998, in Oklahoma City. She was born Aug. 31, 1944, in Rochester, N.Y., to Joseph and Esther Iacuzza Chiappome.
She was a member of the Tishomingo Community Church.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; two sons, Kelly Perkinson, Tishomingo, and Richard Perkinson, Azusa, Calif.; a daughter, Rebecca McGoldrick, Anza, Calif.; two brothers, Louis Chiappome, Rialto, Calif., and Robert Chiappome, Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters, Rosalie Bright, Wichita, Kan., and Virginia Kimball, Fontana, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren.
MADILL -- Services for Juanita Sue Marsh, 73, were scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Watts Memorial Chapel with Ken McCarthick and Milton Murphy officiating. Interment was at Lone Cedar Cemetery.
Mrs. Marsh died Jan. 4, 1998, in a Norman hospital. She was born July 18, 1924, at Bud Young.
She attended school at Dickson and married Elmer Herbert Marsh on May 16, 1942, in Ardmore. She had lived in Norman much of her adult life. She had been a member of Dickson Baptist Church since 1939.
Survivors include her husband, of the home in Norman; three sons, Allen, Kittery, Maine, Rodney, White Sands, N.M., and Kevin, Norman; a daughter, Jackie Barnard, Norman; a sister, Wilma Dezo, Alexandria, Va.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Nephews served as bearers.
ADA -- Memorial services for M.W. "Buddy" Smith, 67, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Ada.
Born Oct. 23, 1930, in Oklahoma City, to H.T. and Lorene Smith, he died Jan. 2, 1998, in an Ada hospital.
A former Ardmore resident, he moved to Ada 20 years ago. Smith was an oil producer, rancher and avid conservationist. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William David Smith; and two brothers, Harris S. Smith and Thomas Neal Smith, both of Ardmore.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Havnschild Smith, of the home; one daughter, Renee Smith Harden, Ardmore; an aunt, Helen Smith George; a cousin, Phillip Maloney; and four nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chell Jackson, Don Dennis, Ken Shiplet, Earl Wallace, Jerald Current, Phillip Maloney, B.D. Wade, Bob Shortes, Mark Hightower, Wayne Payne, Ronald Shaw and Guy T. Ledbetter.

MARIETTA -- Graveside services for Charlie Clark III, infant son of Naomi Albert and Charlie Clark Jr., were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Prairie View Cemetery with the Rev. Jobie L. Kirk officiating.
The baby was born and died Jan. 8, 1998, in the Ardmore hospital.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Velma Young, Marietta; Edna Albert, Atlanta, Ga.; Charlie Clark Sr., Davis; and Willie Drennon.
