Graveside rites for Zelvan E. "Bud" Herron will be 10 a.m. Monday at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Elmore officiating.
Born March 1, 1926, at Enloe, Texas, to Joseph and Eva Herron, he died April 10, 1998, in the Ardmore hospital.
Herron had attended East Texas State University. He married Orenda Buchanan on March 11, 1979, at Gainesville, Texas. Herron had lived in Ardmore for 22 years and was a retired farm and oil field sales manager. He was of the Baptist faith. A veteran of World War II, Herron served in the United States Navy. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4865, the Disabled American Veterans and a former member of the Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one son, Kenneth Shores, Springer; two daughters, Deb Herron Hall, Dallas, and Terry Hill, Ardmore; one sister, Rena Spencer, Dallas; one brother, Roy Herron, Paris, Texas; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Children's Shelter, 15 Monroe Street N.E., Ardmore, OK 73401.
Services are under the direction of Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.
HASKELL -- Services for Glenn Moore, 85, Durant, will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Glover officiating. Interment will follow at Haskell Cemetery.
Born Dec. 31, 1912, at Kingston, Ark. to J.L. and Virginia Smith Howerton Moore, he died April 10, 1998, at Caddo. He married Flossie Groover on Dec. 24, 1934, at Haskell. She preceded him in death in 1992. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Grace Martin, Callie Gibson, Flossie Thomas, Pearl Engel, Jessie Damme, Eunice Damme and Lorene Davies; and brothers, Noah Moore and Hugh Howerton. He is survived by a brother, Orvan.
Moore had worked for Mobil Oil Company until his retirement in 1977. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivor include one son, Donald G. Moore, Wichita, Kan.; three daughters, Marilyn Crawford, Skiatook, Marion Hill, Durant, and Joyce Hardymon, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Bearers are Alvin Crawford, Elbert Hill, Chris Sides, Jay Hardymon, Flavy Groover and Fay Groover.
Services are under the direction of Murray Funeral Home.
DUNCAN -- Services for Zelma Lois Wilson, 88, Loco will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Harold Baker and Wayne Morrow officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan City Cemetery.
Born Aug. 26, 1909, at Addington to Roy and Mary Harris Webb, she died April 9, 1998, at a Duncan hospital. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. She married J.R. Nelson on Oct. 3, 1963. He preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1973. She then married A. J. Wilson on Sept. 9, 1988, at Terral.
Mrs. Wilson was a life-long resident of Stephens County. She attended Mount Grove and Santa Fe Schools. She worked as a dispatcher for Schlumberger Well Services. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church at Loco until it closed.
Survivors include her husband, of the home.
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Services for Emma Ruth Williams, 74, Choctaw, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home NE Chapel. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore.
Mrs. Williams died April 9, 1998, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Williams.
Mrs. Williams grew up in Ardmore, where she married and began a career in the oil and gas industry. After moving to Oklahoma City in the early 1960s, she worked for Sinclair, Amerex, Kerr McGee and eventually Tinker Air Force Base. She became a resident of Choctaw after her husband's death.
Survivors include one son, Tanner Williams, and three grandchildren.
TISHOMINGO -- Graveside rites for Joe "Jody" Alexander, 52, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Tishomingo Cemetery with the Rev. Perry Crisp officiating.
Born Feb. 6, 1946, at Fort Leonardwood, Mo., to Joe R. and Marjorie Lee Meireis Alexander, he died April 10, 1998, at Tishomingo. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Alexander graduated from college in New Mexico. He was a disabled veteran, having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include aunts, uncles and a cousin.
Services are under the direction of Corbin Funeral Home.
Graveside rites for David Michael Barr, infant son of Robert and Bethany Ward Barr, will be 2 p.m. Monday at McAlister Cemetery
Born April 9, 1998 at Ardmore, he died April 9, 1998.
Survivors include his parents, Ardmore; grandparents, Bobby and Jane Barr, Okemah ; Ray and Linda Clevenger, Ronnie and Carla Adams and Paul Williams Ward Jr., Drumwright; great-grandparents Irene Scrivner, Marietta, Deloris Neeley, Paul and Francis Ward, Drumwright, and Minnie Barr, Okemah.
Services are under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home.
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Melvin Sealy Jr., 51, Ardmore, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Corbin Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Charlie Carter, Jeff Frazier and Osborne Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Sealy Cemetery, Connerville.
Born Dec. 8, 1946, at Connerville to Milton James and Lillian Levi Sealy, he died April 9, 1998, at Oklahoma City. He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Juanita Thomas; and two grandchildren.
Sealy attended Pontotoc schools, He was a laborer, who had lived in Ardmore for the past 15 years. Sealy was a member of Northeast Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Leiza Jane, of the home; one son, Marvin Lee Sealy, Granite; one daughter, Carla Jean Thomas, Ardmore; his mother, Mill Creek; one brother, Edison Sealy, Ada; four sisters, Nadine Lewis, Ardmore, Suzanna Russell, Anadarko, Shirley A. McElroy, Ada, and Kay Meeley, Mill Creek; and four grandchildren.
Bearers are nephews Jimmy Lewis, Kenneth Lewis Jr., David Eugene Lewis, James McElroy Jr., Billie Lee and Robert Lee. Honorary bearers are Charles Ledford and Aaron Thomas.
SULPHUR -- Graveside rites for Jo Reid, 87, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oaklawn Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Crawford officiating.
Born Jan. 9, 1911, at Sulphur to James F. and Mary J. Beuton Kennedy, she died April 11, 1998, at Sulphur. She married Roswell R. Reid on Dec. 1, 1927. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Kinman; a son, Robert Reid; and a grandson, Michael Kinman.
Mrs. Reid was reared in Sulphur. She graduated from Sulphur High School in 1929. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1943, where she worked for Douglas Aircraft and the Oklahoma Tax Commission. While in Oklahoma City, she attended Oklahoma City University. She then moved to Pasadena, Texas, where she lived for 17 years, working for the City of Houston. She retired in 1973. She was past president of American Association of Retired Persons, Christian Fellowship and Arbuckle Historical Society.
Survivors include a son, Harold George Reid, Eufaula, Ala.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Huntingtons Disease Society of America, 140 West 22nd Street., Sixth Floor, New York, N.Y. 10011-2420.

Graveside rites for Royce L. Hammett Sr., Lone Grove, will be 11 am. Monday at Newport Cemetery with the Rev. Kenny McMath officiating.
Born July 3, 1947, at Lone Grove to Barrem and Georgia Arnold Hammett, he died April 11, 1998, at the Ardmore hospital.
Hammett had been a resident of Lone Grove all of his life. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. Hammett married JoAnn Vance on Oct. 17, 1969 at Ardmore. He worked for the City of Ardmore at the waste water treatment plant, before retiring about 10 years ago. He was a member of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars and the River of Life Pentecostal Holiness Church, Wilson.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; his parents, Lone Grove; three sons, Dalton Hammett and Royce Hammett Jr., both Lone Grove, and Joshua Hammett, of the home; one sister, Bernetta Cary, Norman; two brothers, Harold and Leon Hammett, Lone Grove; and three grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home.
MADILL -- Services for Essie Cail, 78, were 11 a.m. Saturday at Watts Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Lyndol Adams officiating. Interment followed at Lone Cedar Cemetery.
Born April 11, 1919, at Graley, Ark., to Sparlin and Evelyn McConley Pierce, she died April 7, 1998, at a local nursing home following several years of ill health. She married Loyd Edgar Cail on June 19, 1938, at Provence. He preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1988.
She was of the Assembly of God faith.
Survivors include two sons, Rank Cail, Madisonville, Ky., and Roy Cail, New Zealand; and four grandchildren.
Bearers were Vannoy Cail, Vayden Cail, Brian Cail, Charlie Cail, Neil Cail and Tim Robitaille.
ENID -- Graveside services for Sarah Elizabeth "Liz" Hoyle, 82, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid with the Rev. Gary McCormick officiating.
Born Aug. 29, 1915, near Stroud, to Joe A. and Myrtie M. Weltzheimer West, Mrs. Hoyle died April 8, 1998 in an Auburn, Calif., hospital.
She married Orville "Mick" Hoyle June 9, 1934, at Chickasha, and had recently moved to California after living in Enid since 1945. She worked as a cook and restaurant kitchen manager until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of Central Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband; and a son, Elmer J., both of Ardmore; a daughter, Rosetta P. Spadarotto, Auburn, Calif.; three sisters, Pearl Brown, Clinton, Delores Ward, Las Vegas, and Maudie Thomson, Yreka, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Patsy West and Frances Clark; and four brothers, Porter, Joe, M.D. "Doc," and Dan West.
Visitation will be from 8 to 11 a.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home in Enid.
MARIETTA -- Services for Danny J. "Happy Jack" Southerland, 48, will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Tommy Higle and Ronnie Carroll officiating. Interment will follow at the Independent Order of Oddfellows Cemetery, Ringling.
Born April 18, 1949, at Ardmore to James Donald and Faye Dell Davis Southerland, he died April 10, 1998, at the Marietta hospital. He was preceded in death by his father and his mother-in-law, Shirley B. Townsend, Dec. 29, 1997.
Southerland was reared at Ringling and moved to Marietta 14 years ago. He married Sally Yarbrough on June 1, 1973, at Gainesville, Texas, and had been married for almost 25 years. He was employed by Glen Oak's of Marietta, where he did various jobs. He was a veteran of Vietnam, having served in the United States Army. Southerland was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Ringling. He was also a member of American Iron Riders of Southern Oklahoma. Southerland was very proud of his son, Travis Jack.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; his mother, Faye Dell Pearson, Ringling; one son, Travis Jack Southerland, of the home; nieces, Summer Zimmerman, Keri Dewbre, Maggie Southerland and Julie Crabb; nephews, Barry Boland, Jay Boland, Levi Southerland and Gabe Zimmerman; a brother and sister-in-law, Donnie and Virginia Southerland, Wilson; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita and Ed Zimmerman Jr., Oklahoma City, and Lana and Gary Dewbre, Chickasaw; one sister-in-law, Diane Boland, Ardmore; his father-in-law, John Yarbrough, Ardmore.
Bearers are Barry Boland, Carlton Howard, Vic Zachary, Jay Boland, Charlie Hale and Tommy Bryant. Honorary bearers are Gabe Zimmerman, James Morris, Levi Southerland, all his friends and all AIRSO members.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 6 pm. today.

MARIETTA -- Services for Stayton M. Saunders, 75, will be 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Higle officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
Born Sept. 10, 1922, at Dallas to Sam Miles and Ethel McCampbell Saunders, he died April 9, 1998 at his residence. He was preceded in death by a sister, Winalee Gibson in 1960.
Saunders lived most of his life in Love County. He was the retired owner-operator of Saunder's Variety Store. Saunders was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army Air Corps. He served with the 15th Air Force in North Africa and Italy. Saunders was a life member of the American Legion Burch Brothers Post 136, where he was currently serving as 2nd Vice Commander. He also had been a member of the legion post's executive committee for several years. Saunders was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include nephews and friends.
Bearers are King Martin, Ronnie Brown, Ronnie Norton, Larry Martin, Luke Smith and Brett Lunsford. Honorary bearers are members of the American Legion Burch Brothers Post 136, Fletcher Coble, Marvin Wade, Claude Brannan, Bill Looney, Bud Dixon, Leon Brown and Dewayne Hicks.
The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 tonight at he funeral home.
