HEALDTON -- Services for Bill Copenhaver, 72, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Dennis Dawson and Philip Fox officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore, under the direction of Reser Funeral Home.
Copenhaver died May 12, 1998, in a Wilson health care facility after an extended illness. He was born to William H. and Arlena Reeves Copenhaver June 12, 1925, at Healdton and had lived here most of his life.
He worked in California during World War II building fighter planes and owned two services stations in Healdton before working for Lewis-Magneto. He owned and operated Bill's DX Station from 1962 until he retired in 1988. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge, Lions Club and was a fire department volunteer for 20 years. He and Ophelia Nolen were married June 14, 1947, in Ardmore.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Bob, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Cindy Dawson, Henryetta, and Sharon Patton, Fort Smith, Ark.; and eight grandchildren.
Bearers will be Greg Jean, Steve Sullivan, Terry Rozzell, Mike Porterfield, Louis Scott and Frankie Fryer. Honorary bearers are Rusty Thomas, Bill Dawson and Leon Ham.
DOLBERG -- Graveside rites for W.C. "Dub" Johnson, 75, Monahans, Texas, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Dolberg Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth R. Brady officiating.
Johnson died May 11, 1998, at College City, Texas. He was born Feb. 19, 1923, at Roff, to Edward D. and Melva J. Letrell Johnson.
Reared in Dolberg, he was an Army veteran of World War II and a retired oil field worker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorssie.
He is survived by a sisters, Ruby Kelly; and brother, Sammy D., both of Hutchinson, Kan.
Cowley-Krien Funeral Home will direct services.
HEALDTON -- Funeral services for Golda Irene Jackson, age 84, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 1998, at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Philip Fox will officiate with interment in Mount Olive Cemetery.
Mrs. Jackson died Friday morning, May 15, 1998, in a Putnam City convalescent home.
The daughter of Robert A. and Mattie Mae Dunn, she was born March 10, 1914, near Healdton in Carter County.
She married Kenneth Quinton Jackson on Dec. 1, 1931, in Duncan. He preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 1986.
Golda's great joy was spending time with her family. She attended and served her Lord at the First Baptist Church in Healdton until ill health forced her to move to the convalescent home.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Bobby and Doris Jackson, Shidler, and Jimmie and Beth Jackson, Oklahoma City; one sister, Lucille Phipps, Ardmore; four brothers, R.A. Dunn and Mike Dunn, Healdton, Pat Dunn, Ardmore, and Howard Dean Dunn, Jakarta, Indonesia; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son, Max; a sister, Maxine; and a brother, Billy Don.
Reser Funeral Home will direct services.
MARIETTA -- Services for Ralph L. Evans, Greenville, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 1998, at Eastside Baptist Church with the Revs. Jim Banks and Steve Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Greenville Cemetery.
Evans was born Jan. 18, 1914, at Dora, N.M., to Lee and Molly Riley Evans. He passed away Saturday evening, May 16, 1998, at the Lake Country Manor Nursing Home of Marietta at the age of 84 years, three months and 28 days.
Mr. Evans had lived at Greenville since 1949. He married Helen Giblin June 7, 1934, at Morgan, Texas. He was a retried building contractor. Evans was baptized when he was 19 and ordained as a deacon when he was 26. He served in that capacity in each church family he had. He was a member and served as a deacon of Eastside Baptist Church for 44 years, giving generously of himself to the church family and all others he encountered.
Evans wrote "The History of Love County." He and Marietta Publishing Company donated their time, services and profits from the book to finance the first Frontier Days of Love County in 1965. He started and served as chairman of that event for many years. He also authored "From the Cross To The Crown," a history of the Enon Baptist Association. He compiled information of all the cemeteries in Love County and was a founding member of the Love County Historical Society. He was instrumental in getting a hospital in Marietta and oversaw the construction of the building and also served on the hospital board for many years. He served on the board of Mental Health Services of Southern Oklahoma for many years. He also served on the board of the Chickasaw Multicounty Library System many years.
Evans was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Lee Evans in 1935; by two brothers, Oscar and J.C. Evans; and by two sisters, Mary Waldrop and Wanda Warthen.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Louise Evans, Greenville, Kenneth and Ruth Ann Evans, Oklahoma City, and Benny Evans, Stillwater; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and David Kirby, Greenville; a brother, Trevenor Evans, Bloomfield, N.M.; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Gavin Evans, Justin Evans, Dale Redding, Kelvin Schoonover, Jason Evans, Daniel Evans and Phillip Knox. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Cathy Redding, Karen Schoonover, Jami Evans, Anna Evans, Tim Johnson, Jessica Redding, Joshua Knox, Molly Redding, Melinda Evans, Ginger Evans, Julie Evans, Susan Knox, Melody Evans, Carla Evans, Marianna Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Ian Redding, Lisa Knox, Kelsey Schoonover, Tony Evans, Sonia Evans and Morgan Evans; and deacons at Eastside Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Kennedy Funeral Home.
Memorial service for Hulon Daniel "Hooch" Barnes, 55, Ringling, are pending from Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home. Barnes died May 17, 1998, in the local hospital.
He is survived by two sisters, Linda Moore, Tulsa, and Charlene Bourns, Ardmore; and a brother, Dean, Wilson.
TUSSY -- Services for Lola Mae Moss, 82, Ratliff City, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 1998, at Midway Baptist Church, Tussy, Okla., with Brother Dwight Hawkins and Sister Ellen Abshire officiating. Interment will follow at Tussy Cemetery.
Born July 13, 1915, at Tussy, to Cain B. Miller and Myrtle M. Miller, she went to be with the Lord May 17, 1998, at Mercy Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy D. Moss; a son, Tommy Cain Miller; a brother, Earl Miller; and two sisters, Pearl Allgood and Bonnie Farris.
Reared at Tussy, she married Ray D. Moss Oct. 27, 1936. Lola Mae was a lifelong resident of the Ratliff City area. She graduated from Alma High School and later attended Southeastern College in Durant. She owned and operated numerous businesses throughout her lifetime.
One of the highlights of her life was being able to donate the land and help build the first post office in Ratliff City. Lola Mae was a member of Southside Holiness Church in Elmore City for 13 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her numerous friends. The thing that she tried most to teach others was, live your life to the full capacity and always help a person in need.
Survivors include her daughter, Theresa Kaye Brown, Ratliff City; a special person that she considered her son, Donny Holbein of Ratliff City; four sisters, Faye Chew, Paralee Jones and Edna Moore, Duncan, and Ruby Lennon, Guthrie; her grandchildren, Michael Sean Brown and his wife, Dana Brown, Kevin Teafatiller, and his wife, Connie Teafatiller. Also, five great-grandchildren, Tisha Brown, Kyle Teafatiller, Gavin Teafatiller, Ashleah Teafatiller and Lyndsey Teafatiller.
Bearers will be Hamp Downey, Alton Downey, Doc Gilbert, Jimmy Norton, Terry McEntire and Clarence Abshire. Honorary bearers will be Jim Sullivan, Bobby Walker, Herman Downey and Richie Wright.
Wooster Funeral Home, Elmore City, will direct services.
DAVIS -- Services for Wesley G. Warren will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Finis Steelman officiating. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
Warren died May 18, 1998, in Sulphur. He was born May 4, 1920, at Davis, to John and Cora Pope Warren.
He married Lena "Dean" Howard Aug. 22, 1953, at Atoka, and became an ordained minister in 1973. He retired from the Oklahoma Tax Commission after 34 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1994.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Merlene McManus, Dallas, and Norma Freeman, Ardmore; three stepsons, Glennel Cargal, Carrollton, Texas, Harold Cargal, Austin, Texas, and Artie Cargal, Oklahoma City; a sister, Doris Swicegood, Modesto, Calif.; three brothers, Willard, Davis, Norvell, Oklahoma City, and Lynn, Richmond, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Grandsons will serve as bearers.

TISHOMINGO -- Services for Oscar Lee Ray will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Corbin Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mark Fleming officiating. Interment will be at Condon Grove Cemetery, Milburn.
Ray died May 17, 1998, in Little City. He was born Sept. 4, 1946, at Durant, to Wilburn E. and Tressie E. Sellars Ray.
A lifetime resident of Johnston County, he served in the Army and was employed in the construction field. He was a retried member of the board of education and a member of the Church of God Faith.
Survivors include three sons, Buddy, Oklahoma City, Bosco, Blanchard, and Todd, Ada; a daughter, Tammie Bumgarner, Oklahoma City, three half brothers, Arthur Stephens, Renton, Wa., James and Edward Stephens, Kingston; a half sister, Evelyn Ray, Norwalk, Calif.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald.
Services for Lora W. Boyd, 81, are pending from Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home. Mrs. Boyd died May 19, 1998, in the local hospital.
She is survived by sons, Paul Mitchell, Gene Autry, Arthur Mitchell, Overbrook, Donald Mitchell, Miami, Chesley Mitchell, Ardmore, and Dwayne Darter, Alvarado, Texas; daughters, Louise Smith, Carole Deathrage and Uealene Nelson, Ardmore; a brother, John Hudson, Florida; 25 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
YUKON -- Memorial services for C. LaVon Ferris will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Yukon with the Rev. Ken Marston officiating.
Ferris was born Oct. 17, 1933, at Hobart, to Earl L. and Pauline Gravlee Ferris. On May 16, 1998, at his home in Piedmont, he departed his earthly life for eternal life.
He graduated from Cooperton High School in 1950 and received a degree in chemistry and vocational agriculture in 1955 from Oklahoma A&M College. During his college years he belonged to Alpha Gamma Rho and various organizations. After graduating from college, he entered the U.S. Army 5th Division in Chicago. He ws honorably discharged in 1957 as a first lieutenant. On Aug. 1, 1958, he and Jeannie Wilson were married in the Forest Hills Christian Church in Oklahoma City. To this union, one daughter, Gay Lynn, was born.
During his lifetime he was actively involved in Rotary, Kiwanis and law enforcement. His law enforcement career began in 1966 in Yukon as an auxiliary police officer and in Canadian County as a reserve deputy sheriff. In 1971, he became the chief of police in Piedmont, serving in that capacity four years. He joined the Yukon Campus Police in 1976 and was active for 15 years. During his law enforcement tenure, he received numerous awards and recognition for his dedicated service.
Mr. Ferris began his own business, ACCO Products, in 1961. He closed that business in 1986 and began a career as a financial consultant. He retired in 1991. Wanting to remain active in the business world, he became an adviser to his wife's business, Circle F Saddlery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl L. and Pauline Ferris.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie, his daughter, Gay Rice, and husband, Steve, of Piedmont; his brother, Nick Ferris, and wife, Vickie, Dallas; and one grandchild, Jessica Rice. He is also survived by a stepdaughter, Leslie Wodenhouse; and two stepgrandchildren, Casey and Courtney Dunn.

PURCELL -- Graveside rites for former Tishomingo resident, Lucy Mae Stevens, 95, were scheduled today at 2 p.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
Mrs. Stevens died May 15, 1998, in Houston. She was born May 5, 1903, at Honey Grove, Texas, to Joe and Eva Flinn Biggerstaff.
She served in the Army Corps during World War II and was McClain County deputy court clerk 13 years. She and R.G. "Razz" Stevens were married April 7, 1942, in Oklahoma City. They were ranchers in the Johnston County area many years. She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Arthur and Doc Biggerstaff; and a sister, Jewel Sims.
Survivors include a nephew, Arthur Biggerstaff; and nieces, Jean Henderson, Lovena Knipe, Evilu Kindred, Geraldean Gallagher and Lucy Taylor.
Corbin Funeral Home will direct services.
Graveside rites for Lora Hudson Boyd, 81, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. John Genn officiating.
Mrs. Boyd was born April 25, 1917, to Cal and Lilly Hudson, at Overbrook. She died May 19, 1998, in the local hospital.
She had worked at a day care center in Tulsa. She had lived in Ardmore most of her life and was a member of United Pentecostal Church of Lone Grove.
Survivors include sons, Paul Mitchell, Gene Autry, Authur Mitchell, Overbrook, and Donald Mitchell, Bonita Beach, Fla., Chesley Mitchell, Ardmore, and Dewayne Darter, Alvarado, Texas; daughters, Louise Smith, Carole Deathrage and Uealene Nelson, Ardmore; a brother, John Hudson, Jacksonville, Fla.; 25 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands, Wilson Mitchell, Ueal Darter and Ray Boyd.
Honorary bearers will be her sons and Howard Deathrage.
Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home will direct services.
Memorial services for Anne Pontier will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 22, 1998, at the First Presbyterian Church.
Anne died May 19, 1998, in an Oklahoma City hospital after an extended illness.
She was born March 8, 1922, at Lodi, N.J., to Peter and Wilhemina deLeeuw.
She worked as an executive secretary at the Bendix Corporation until her marriage to H. Alfred Pontier Aug. 21, 1948. They lived in Hingham, Mass., where Anne raised her children and was an active volunteer in the community. She was a member of Park Street Church in Boston. She retired with her husband to Anna Maria Island, Fla., in 1980 and had made her home in Ardmore since 1995. She belonged to First Presbyterian Church, Independent Christian Ladies and Ardmore Art Guild.
She is survived by her husband, H. Alfred Pontier; three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Dwight Stowell of Royalston, Mass., Patricia and Jonathan Fickett of Brookline, N.H., and Janice and Andrew Tindale of Ardmore. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Amy and Benjamin Fickett, Thomas Tindale and Abigail Stowell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to World Vision.
