SULPHUR -- Services for Euell "E.L." Stover, 73, are pending with Cowley-Krien Funeral Home.
Born Dec. 2, 1924, at Perry to John and Altha Elizabeth Kesler Stover, he died May 2, 1998, at a Pauls Valley Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Laughlin Stover, of the home; four sons, Enos Stover, Stillwater, Allen and Bart Stover, both Sulphur, and Emit Stover, Gloucester, Va.; two daughters, Lucenda Duffey and Malinda Snowden, both Sulphur; one brother, Tommy Jay Stover, Taft, Calif.; and two sisters, Norma Jean Scoll, Natchez, Miss., and Brenda Joyce Bellamy, Seminole; 11 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services for Venus Lindsey Mendenhall are pending with Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.
Born April 5, 1908, at Ardmore to Shelden T. and Nina Miller Lindsey, she died May 2, 1998, at a local health care facility.
Survivors include one sister, Zoma Lindsey Barricklow.
Services for Nettie Leona Wheat, Lone Grove, are pending from Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home. She died May 5, 1998, in a Dallas hospital.
Among her survivors is her husband, Clinton, of the home.
PAULS VALLEY -- Services for Haskell H. Hitt, 80, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wooster Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore.
Hitt died May 4, 1998, in Pauls Valley where he was born Dec. 30, 1917, to Jesse Y. and Cecil H. Dockery Hitt.
Reared at Milo and Woodford, he married Dorothy M. Johnson May 22, 1943, in Ardmore, and worked for Tom Cooper Dairy 20 years before moving to Pauls Valley, where he operated the Stop & Go Grocery until 1984.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Wayne, Pauls Valley, and Lynn, Denver; three sisters, Ruth Wallace, Eunice Greer and Willie Clark, Ardmore; two brothers, Gordon and Billy, Ardmore; and three grandchildren.
MILO -- Graveside rites for W.R. "Fred" Butler, 86, Graham, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Milo Cemetery with the Rev. Leon Wise officiating.
Butler died May 5, 1998, in an Ardmore health care facility after an extended illness. He was born Oct. 10, 1911, in Ardmore, to A.D. and Ida Keller Butler.
He married Lucille Mauldin Oct. 8, 1936, at Milo, and lived in Hinton, Ardmore and California before moving to Graham in 1975. He was a farmer and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; six sons, Bob, Ardmore, Charles, Weatherford, Donald, Ringwood, Kenneth, Vian, Larry and Ronald, Hydro; two daughters, Louise Murray, Hydro, and Sharon Harris, Graham; two brothers, Carroll, Ada, and A.D., Ardmore; 28 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Leon, April 10, 1991.
Reser Funeral Home will direct services.
KINGSTON -- Services for Alpha D. Woods were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the Methodist Church with Jerrell and Sherry Heath officiating. Interment was at Kingston Cemetery.
Mrs. Woods died May 4, 1998. She was born Aug. 6, 1903, to Bert and Myrtle Snellgrove.
A lifetime resident of Marshall County, she married Duncan Woods Jan. 16, 1924, was an active member of Kingston Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 7, 1953; two sons, Joe, on Dec. 13, 1993, and Murel, on Nov. 18, 1997; three sisters, Jewell and Letha Mae Woods and Ruth Brown; a grandson and great-grandson.
Survivors include two sons, Henry and Billy Bob; two daughters, Audrey Spence and Edna Wheeler; a sister, Lucille Wilkins; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers were Cecil Miller, Cecil Buck, Dowe Justice, L.V. Little, Bert Van Nice and Hugh Matchen. Honorary were Linda McBeth, Cindy Glenn, Helen Williams, Lola Lowrey, Peggy Howard and Linda Huffman.
GENE AUTRY -- Services for Wynona J. Newton, 84, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gene Autry Methodist Church with the Rev. M.E. Dickenson officiating. Interment will be at Young Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home in Sulphur.
Mrs. Newton died May 5, 1998, in Lawton. She was born Jan. 15, 1914, at Berwyn, to Marion F. and Carrie Young Setliff.
Reared at Berwyn, she attended Carter Seminary, graduated from Murray State and East Central State colleges. She taught school in Carter County 10 years and at Lawton 30 years before she retired in 1976. She and William C. Newton were married Nov. 28, 1941, at Enid. He died in 1973. She was a member of Centenary Methodist Church and Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include a son, Bobby, Ardmore; and a grandchild.

MARIETTA -- Services for Raymond Brintle, 83, Leon, are pending from Kennedy Funeral Home. He died May 5, 1998, in a Marietta health care facility.
Among his survivors are his wife, Bertie, of the home; and a son, Jerry, Fort Worth, Texas.
WILSON -- Services for Jo Mildred Vik, 75, were at 10:30 a.m. today at Alexander Chapel with the Rev. Darel Bunch officiating. Interment was at Hewitt Cemetery.
Mrs. Vik died May 7, 1998, in the Ardmore hospital. She was born May 10, 1922, at Wilson, to Joseph A. and Annie B. Ely Carroll.
Reared at Wilson, she moved to Lake Elsinore, Calif., where she owned and operated Jo Vik Insurance Agency from 1970 until 1992 when she retired and moved to Enville. She was a former member of Soroptimist Women's Rotary Auxiliary and Downtown Women's Association.
She is survived by two sisters, Gladys Wyatt an Eula Kirby, Ardmore; a brother, Emmitt Carroll, San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Jessie A. Black, Lake Elsinore, and Claudia J. Thompson, LaPorte, Texas; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Bearers were Joe Croskell, Terry Thompson, Randy Black, John R. Black, John Black Jr. and John Black Sr.
Services for Effie "Avis" Womack are pending from Craddock Funeral Home. She died May 7, 1998, in an Oklahoma City hospital.
Services for Glen Gage are pending from Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home. Gage died May 7, 1998, in the local hospital.
Among his survivors is a son, Bob, Ardmore.
MILBURN -- Graveside rites for Abbigail Warden, infant daughter of Steven Paul and Denise Marie Hicks Warden, were scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today at Condon Grove Cemetery with Charles Davis Jr. officiating.
The baby was born and died May 5, 1998, in Durant.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Sara Denise; grandparents, Dub and Flora D. Warden and Bill and Barbara Hicks; and great-grandparents, Herbert and Della Hicks and Bernice Warden, all of Tishomingo. She was preceded in death by a sister, Emily Ann, Dec. 28, 1991.
Corbin Funeral Home directed services.
MARSHALL -- Graveside rites for Clyde McElroy, 89, Ardmore, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the North I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Marshall. The Rev. Douglas Faukner will officiate.
McElroy died May 6, 1998, in the Ardmore hospital. He was born April 12, 1909, at Midlothin, Texas, to James O. and Lela Hudson McElroy.
He married Alice Scott Nov. 22, 1931, at Chickasha and lived in Marshall, Enid, Denver and Florida before moving to the Ardmore area 30 years ago. He was a carpenter and member of Southwest Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, of the home, and was preceded in death by a son, James; a brother; and a sister.
Abernathy Funeral Home will direct services.
MILL CREEK -- Graveside rites for Chester Elemuel Belcher, 79, Davis, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mill Creek Cemetery with Artie Quinton and the Rev. Jerry George officiating.
Belcher died May 6, 1998, in Davis. He was born Aug. 28, 1918, at Provo, Ark., to Flint and Zora Anderson Belcher.
He came to Oklahoma as a child and was reared in the Mill Creek area. He worked on the Daube Ranch, owned a grocery store and was a gas distributor for Cities Service before going into the LP gas business in the early 1950s. He raised angus cattle on his Roff ranch.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Harden, Mill Creek, and Kyla Green, Dallas; a brother, Bill, Tishomingo; two sisters, Ida Chandler, Ferndale, Calif., and Vida M. Hobby, Moore; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Donald; a brother, Herbert; and sister, Aletha Watson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mill Creek Cemetery Fund.
Clagg Funeral Home will direct services.
MADILL -- Funeral services for Terry Frank Smith were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Watts Memorial Chapel with Larry Holder officiating. Interment was at Woodberry Forest Cemetery.
Smith was born April 25, 1906, at Marietta, Indian Territory, where he graduated from high school.
He was married to Linda C. Carnathan at Commanche, Okla., on Nov. 27, 1929. They later lived at Ardmore and Grove and had made their home in Sherman, Texas, since 1995. He attended Austin College at Sherman and retired as executive officer of Twentieth Century Manufacturing and Supply. He was a member of United Methodist Church. Following three years of failing health, Mr. Smith died in a Sherman hospital early Wednesday morning, May 6, 1998, at the age of 92.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, Sherman; nephew and niece, Gene Smith, Chickasha, and Marlene Bebo, Madill; and foster sister, Louise Brown, Guthrie. He was preceded in death by his brother, Winston Smith.
SULPHUR -- Services for Billy Ray Chapman, 62, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. James Swain officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Chapman died May 10, 1998, in the local hospital. He was born Feb. 24, 1936, at Hickory, to Leonard and Eva L. Stidham Chapman.
Reared in Hickory, he moved to Sulphur in 1969 and retired from the National Park Service in 1994. He and Dorothy Brandt were married Aug. 25, 1957, at Henryetta.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter Regina Brewer, Sulphur; a brother, Harold, Broken Arrow; a sister, Jalinda Kirkendoll, Littlefield, Texas; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles.
Bearers will be Clifford Hughes, Billy Warren, Butch Hill, Loyd Gurley, Glenn Ward and Joe Peterson. Honorary bearers are former co-workers and brother-in-law.
Cowley-Krien Funeral Home will direct services.
HEALDTON -- Services for Opal McCully Keck, 91, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Phil Fox officiating. Interment will be at Mount Olive Cemetery under the direction of Spivey's Reser Funeral Home.
Born Feb. 7, 1910, in Hobart, to James and Maggie Powell McCully, she died March 7, 2001, in Duncan.
She graduated from school at Dundee and attended Oklahoma College for Women at Chickasha. She was a longtime resident of the Healdton-Wirt communities and was a member of First Baptist Church. She and Bonnie Keck were married on Oct. 15, 1929, in Ringling. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 7, 1995; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Dr. Peggy Keck, Bowling Green, Ky.; a son, Bob Keck, Woodford; a grandson, Bob N. Keck, also of Woodford; and granddaughter, Karee Hopkins, Edmond; five great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter, Andrew Keck, Edmond, Adam Keck, Tulsa, Carl Hopkins Jr., Hays, Hunter and Holly Hopkins, all of Edmond.
Bearers will be Roy Barnes, Mark, Wayne and Dale Wood, Pat O'Conner and Danny Keck.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church for the Falls Creek Tabernacle building fund.

MADILL -- Services for Frankie Marie Roberts, 79, Ardmore, were conducted March 3, 2001, at Watts Funeral Chapel in Madill with Bro. Brad Buchanan officiating. Interment was at Hopping Cemetery, Wayne.
Born Aug. 13, 1921, to John and Odie Bell Phillips Reese in Antlers, she departed this life Feb. 28, 2001, at the Ardmore hospital.
Frankie had lived in Ardmore the past three months, moving from Wayne.
Raised at the Blackland Farm area at Madill, she attended the Oklahoma School in Madill. She married Elton Roberts on Nov. 11, 1939, and in 1960 they moved to Wayne. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, traveling, sewing and flower gardening.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Youndt and Sissy Langston.
Survivors include her husband of the home; three sons, Ivan Roberts and wife, Ruby, and Dwight Roberts, all of Ardmore, and Joe Roberts of Purcell; four brothers, J.B. Reese of Utah, Travis Reese and wife, Nonnie, of Oakland, Jimmy Reese and wife, Brenda, Burleson, Texas, and Gene Reese of Fort Worth, Texas; three sisters, Mildred Grenawalt of Portland, Ore., Irene Reese of Weleetka, and Margaret Winters; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers were Tony, Barry, Bobby and Michael Roberts, Justin Woulfe, Marty Hall and Cory Scruggs. Honorary bearers were Larry Love, David Roberts, Bill Scruggs and Chickasaw Hills employees.
Memorial services for Judson Palmer, 57, will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Ardmore Public Library.
Palmer was born Aug. 30, 1943, in Mexico, Mo., to Walter and Ruby J. Garrett Palmer. He died March 6, 2001, at his residence.
He graduated magna cum laude from Northeast Missouri State University in 1965 and was a member of Mensa Society and Southern Oklahoma Writers Guild.
Survivors include the mother of his children, Linda Palmer of Ardmore; a son, James Palmer of Dallas; three daughters, Laure Higgins of Ada, Lisa Smith of Oklahoma City, and Tina Palmer of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Sidney Higgins and Garrett Higgins of Ada and Piper Smith of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Walter Palmer of Dellwood, Mo., and Harry Ritter of Springfield,Mo.; and a sister, Cheryl Ritter of Kansas City, Mo.
