Services for Mary Kathryn Salyer will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Custar officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born May 12, 1925, to John and Maude Spell, she died May 23, 1998, in the Ardmore hospital. She married J.T. Salyar Jr. on Aug. 14, 1946, at Gainesville, Texas. He preceded her in death on Jan. 15, 1996.
Mrs. Salyer had lived in the Ardmore area all of her life. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and was a retired licensed practical nurse, having worked in the area for many years.
Survivors include two sons, Keith Salyer, Jones, and Steve Salyer, Ardmore; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ray Almon, 75, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Revs. Donny Custar and Jimmy Harness officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Born to William Ray and Leona Farmer Almon on Dec. 23, 1922, in Purdon, Texas, he passed away on May 25, 1998, in the local hospital.
He and the former Betty Ann Spurlock were married June 1, 1946, at Gainesville, Texas.
An Ardmore resident since 1947, coming here from Madill, Mr. Almon was a retired plumber. He served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean conflict. Ray received the following awards: WWII Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon and EAME Theater Ribbon. He was honorably discharged March 4, 1946. Mr. Almon was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a life member of Veterans of Foreign War.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; three sons, Eddie, and his wife, Rosetta, Paul, and his wife, Vicki, and David Almon, all of Ardmore; a brother, A.N. "Shorty," and his wife, Jerry, Almon of Ardmore; two sisters, Ruby Self, and her husband, Ab, of Madill, and Lola Owen of Utah. Ray had eight grandchildren, Pam and Clay Helvey of Elmore City, Kim Almon of Pauls Valley, Jerren, Meredith, Monica, Elizabeth, Terri and Cullen Almon, all of Ardmore; and two great-grandchildren, Kylie Almon and Jake Helvey; and many other relatives.
Bearers will be Robert Hitt, Steve Spurlock, Gary Almon, Terry Almon, James Johnson and Robert McClain. Honorary bearers will be the Adult IV Sunday School Class of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Services will be directed by Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.

Parker died May 23, 1998, in the local hospital. He was born to Wesley and Minnie Ola Crawford Parker on May 19, 1918, in Woodford.
An Ardmore resident since 1977, coming here from Midwest City, he retired from the United States Air Force. He entered the Army Aug. 13, 1940, serving in all of World War II in North Africa, Sicily, and Italy, with a trip to Scotland and England as an escort of Italian and Germany prisoners of war. He rotated out of Italy in 1944, was retained in the United States, then left for the Philippines. He was discharged in 1948, and in 1951 he entered the United States Air Force, retiring in 1966. He had 13 campaigns and service ribbons, a Bronze Star, Bronze Arrowhead and Star of the Philippine Liberation. He was a life member of the NCOA, AFSA, TREA, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Harry, Ardmore; stepsons, Roger Watkins, Ardmore, and John Watkins, McAlister; sisters, Frances Russell, Davis, and Emma Wood, Bethany; and a granddaughter.
Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home will direct services.
Funeral services for Norma Rebecca Louise Satterwhite Bailey will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy C. Johnson officiating and the Rev. Frankie Johnson assisting. Interment will be Saturday, May 30, 1998, at Garland Cemetery in Dekalb, Texas.
Mrs. Bailey died Mary 22, 1998, in Oklahoma City.
She was born March 28, 1935, in the Garland Community, Dekalb, Texas, to the late John and Norma Satterwhite.
Reared in Dekalb, she moved to Ardmore in the late 1950s and was married to John Pete Bailey III of Ardmore. She graduated from Marvin Pynes High School and later completed her certification for NTMC Home Nursing Course which led to a career as a home care nursing technician.
She was a member of the H.F.V. Wilson Seniors Group and a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for 38 years. Her proudest and greatest accomplishments were to be able to rear her children to adulthood and have them all graduate from Ardmore High School.
Survivors are her children, Larita Bailey of Ardmore, Cedric Bailey of Arlington, Texas, John Pete Bailey IV of Duncanville, Texas, Bobby Bailey of Ardmore, Barbara Owens of Denton, Texas, Carla Berryman of Ardmore, Alan Antwine of San Antonio, Texas, Christopher Antwine of Jacksonville, N.C.; brothers, John Oliver Satterwhite of Dekalb, John W. Satterwhite of Lufkin, Texas; sisters, Mary Jones and Emma Ruth Beckham of Dekalb, and Rose Harmon of Texarkana, Texas, Nadine Cellum of Amona, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Melvin Posey, Gerald Fort, Joseph Williams, Damon Gardner and Johnny Landrum. Milton Cooper is honorary bearer.
Craddock Funeral Home will direct services.
MADILL -- Services for John Ivan Robinson, 71, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Watts Memorial Chapel with the Robinson family and Paul Dowdy officiating. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery.
Robinson died May 26, 1998, at his home in Oakland. He was born Sept. 12, 1926, at Simpson, to Jesse D. and Florence Matthews Robinson.
He attended school in Madill, served in the Army, and married Velma Louise Blakely here Dec. 2, 1944. They were house parents at the Tupelo Children's Mansion in Tupelo, Miss., many years. He was a Sunday school teacher and song leader at the United Pentecostal Church of Madill. He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; six sons, Jimmy, Lubbock, Texas, Larry, Oklahoma City, Jesse, Waxahachie, Texas, Stephen, Ardmore, Bruce, Oak Grove, Ark., and Darrell, Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter, Mary Spencer, Lubbock; a brother, Donald, Tishomingo; three sisters, Stella Satterfield, Branson, Mo., Mary Chambers, Hayesville, Kan., and Martha Rhea, Oklahoma City; 17 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers, J.D. and Billy.
Bearers will be Danny Spencer, Michael, Paul, David, Jerome and Jason Robinson.
Services for former Ardmore resident Bertha Hickman, 85, are pending from Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home. She died May 23, 1998, in Oregon.
Survivors include a son, David Latimar, Idaho; two stepdaughters, Imogene Drummond, Brooks, Ore., and Earline Atkins, California; two sisters, Velma Holt, Nebraska, and Irma Latimer, Oklahoma.
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Services for Ardmore native Otis Love, 69, will be at noon Friday at The Christian Faith Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Baker officiting. Interment will be in Oklahoma City under the direction of Temple Funeral Home.
Love died May 24, 1998, in an Oklahoma City hospital.
He was born in Ardmore and attended Douglass High School.
Among his survivors are his wife, Helen, of the home; and four sisters, Elgerine Stevenson, Detroit, Mich., Dola Mae Nash, Ardmore, Mildred Brigham and Noreta Williams, Los Angeles.

HOLLIDAY, Texas -- Graveside rites for former Ringling resident Jack E. Mauldin, 87, were conducted May 22, 1998, at the Holliday Cemetery with the Rev. Ben Valadez officiating.
Mauldin died May 21, 1998, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was born Nov. 27, 1910, at Albion, to William W. and Arizona Blassingame Mauldin.
Reared at Mount Ida, Ark., he came to Ringling in 1946 while he worked world-wide as a welder for Williams Brother's Pipeline Co.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Jean Knapp Heber, Hillsdale, Ind.; a niece and nephew, whom he reared, June Albion Amelung, Independence, Mo., and John J. Albion, Beech Island, S.C.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mable in 1945; a son, Leroy, in 1984; and two sisters, Ella Mauldin and Pearl Albion.

TISHOMINGO ‹ Services for Tom J. Mathis, 76, were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Corbin Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Joey Lansdale officiating. Interment will be at Ravia Cemetery.
Born June 11, 1921, at Ravia, to James L. and Mary A. Ross Mathis, he died May 24, 1998, in Oklahoma City.
Reared in Ravia, he retired from the A.R.K. Foundation after 35 years of service and had lived in Oklahoma City numerous years. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, the former Beulah Johnson, of the home; a son, Leon, St. Augustine, Fla.; a daughter, Paulette Perdue, Dixon, Tenn.; two sisters, Cleo Powell, Ravia, and Betty Gullette, Vista, Calif.; eight stepchildren; four grandchildren; and numerous stepgrandchildren.
Services for former Ardmore resident Bertha Hickman, 85, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Harvey-Douglas Chapel with the Rev. Roger Wood officiating. Interment will be at McAlister Cemetery.
Born to William and Emma Weathers Jones on June 20, 1912, at Stephenville, Texas., Mrs. Hickman died May 23, 1998, in Brooks, Ore.
She married Jesse Hickman Jan. 1, 1955, and lived in Ardmore until 1978 when she moved to California, then to Oregon in 1988. Her husband preceded her in death Sept. 15, 1996. She was a member of Carter Avenue Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, David Latimar, Idaho; two stepdaughters, Imogene Drummond, Brooks, Ore., and Earline Atkins, California; two sisters, Velma Holt, Nebraska, and Irma Latimer, Oklahoma; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
REXROAT -- Funeral services for J D Dumas, 72, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 29, 1998, at the Rexroat Baptist Church with the Rev. James Wigington officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore.
Born to Bryan George and Lallah Ruth Curtis Dumas on Aug. 5, 1925, at Enid, Mr. Dumas passed away May 27, 1998, in the Healdton hospital.
Reared in Zaneis, he attended school there and married the former Valene Sloss on Jan. 1, 1949, at Gainesville, Texas. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and was a member of Rexroat Baptist Church. Dumas was employed by the Quintin Little Oil Company in Ardmore from 1957 until 1989.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Leona Ball, on Aug. 24, 1972.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; a daughter and her husband, Kelli and Gary Penick, Bartlesville; two sons and their wives, Gary and Cathy Dumas, Sioux City, Iowa, and Terry and Sandy Dumas, Odessa, Texas; two sisters, Edith Groomer, Fort Worth, Texas, and Wanda Stewart, Lubbock, Texas; seven grandchildren, Arika and Mandy Dumas, Kimberly Scruggs, Bryan Dumas, Aaron Dumas, Stephanie and Leslie Penick; a special niece, Ruth Groomer, Weatherford, Texas, and three others nieces, Barbara Ferguson, Midland, Texas, Karen Stewart, Houston, and Margaret Foster, Roanoke, Texas.
Serving as bearers will be nephews, Joe Conyers, Frank and Stephen Foster, Charles Conyers, Curtis Stewart, Mike, Ron and Steve Groomer. Honorary bearers are Benny Cartwright, Turner Poindexter, Hershel Straughn, David Norton, Dave Burke, Verle Tolbert and Montie Allred.
Memorials may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice, Ardmore.

DAVIS -- Services for Karen Denise Meador will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Chapman officiating. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
Mrs. Meador died May 26, 1998, at her home in Davis. She was born July 4, 1958, in Wynnewood.
A lifetime resident of Davis, she married Bobby Meador April 21, 1978, in Davis and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a daughter, Pamela Soelberg, Davis; a son, Brandon, Davis; and her parents Ernest and Flora Brassfield Kirk, Davis; two sisters, Patricia Buckaloo, Davis, and Sonya Wilson, Sulphur; and two brothers, Michael Kirk, Wills Point, Texas, and Steven Kirk, Davis.
