MADILL -- Services for Edley Willis Mangum, 77, will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Full Gospel Holiness Church with Jack Bell officiating. Interment in the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery.
Born May 25, 1921, in Pittsburg County, he died Aug. 13, 1998, in a Durant hospital.
Mr. Mangum was reared in Shay and lived most of his life in Marshall County. He worked as an Oklahoma oil field worker and was a heat treater for a California metal working company. He was a member of the Full Gospel Holiness Church of Madill.
Survivors include two sons, Frank, Kingston, Eddie, South Gate, Calif.; two daughters, Reda McGlocklin, Lone Grove and Billie Doyle, Mannsville; two brothers, Nole, Duncan, and Billy, South Gate; two sisters, Hazel Stark, McQueen, Ark and Birtie Hamilton, Augusta, Ga.; three grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and a great-grandson.
Bearers will be Harry Bargas, Jimmy Martin, Randall Stowers, Buddy Eakin, Steve Walters, Henry Woods and Charles Sisson.
Services are under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill.
NORMAN -- Services for Nellie Jewel Fox, 80, Ardmore, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Primrose Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Eldon Martin and Johnny Mack officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park.
Mrs. Fox died Aug. 12, 1998, in Tulsa. She was born Dec. 5, 1917, in Waldron, Ark., to Manuel L. and Harriet L. Brothers Cox.
She married Roy William Fox Sept. 9, 1934, at Elk City, and was a member of Gospel Assembly of God Church. She was a foster parent six years.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Dale, Ardmore, and Milton, Des Moines, Wash.; two daughters, Barbara Fox, Ardmore, and Carolyn Fox, Huntsville, Ark.; a brother, Odell Cox, Campbell, Calif.; a sister, Ella M. Howard, Tracy, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Roy David; three brothers; and a sister.
Bearers will be Ronnie Hice, Dennis Hamilton, Bobby Cummings, John Crandell, Curtis and Michael Fox. Honorary bearers are Dale Crandell, Dale Fox and Brian Martin.
ADA -- Services for Marietta native Berman Finley Roberson, 73, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home chapel in Ada. Interment will be at Memorial Park.
Roberson died Aug. 13, 1998, at his home. He was born May 2, 1925, at Marietta, to Davison and Virginia Spencer Roberson. Reared in Marietta, he was employed by the Chickasaw Nation before he retired. He and Leona Baker were married Jan. 7, 1971, at Antlers.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Danny, Denton, Texas, Berman Jr. and Raymond, McKinney, Texas; two daughters, Belva Fortin, Kingsbury, Texas, and Sharon Roberson, McKinney; three stepsons, S. B. Hon'sa, Tulsa, Noel Carnes and Darren Roberson, Denison, Texas, seven stepdaughters, Noella Bowers, Denison, Mary Hayes, Pryor, Georgia Jarvis and Lillie Russell, Ada, Peggy Henderson, Portland, Ore., Phyllis Carnes, Tahlequah, and Belva Roberson, Denison; a brother, Keller, Van Buren, Mo.; and sister, Patsy Curtis, Hugo.
RINGLING -- Graveside services for Jessie Dee Copeland, 54, were Friday in the Ringling Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Jack Barron officiated.
Born March 18, 1944, in Ardmore, to William and Florence Thatcher Copeland, he died Aug. 10, 1998, at his Ringling home.
Raised in Ringling, Mr. Copeland lived most of his adult life in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he was a roofer. He married Linda Carmichael June 23, 1965, in Texas. He was a member of the Community Fellowship Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda, of the home; one son, William Hardy Copeland, Wichita Falls, Texas; three daughters, Tammy Lynn Harris and Cindy Diane Stewart, both of Ringling, and Christy Renee Cox, Oscar; one brother, Tommy, Ardmore; one sister, Brenda Raleigh, Burkburnett, Texas; and eight grandchildren.
Reser Funeral Home directed services.
Services for Terry Fredrick Waldrop, 70, Ardmore, will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Chapel with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will follow in Denison, Texas.
Born July 12, 1928, in Augusta, Ga., he died Aug. 15, 1998, in a local hospital.
Mr. Waldrop lived in Ardmore the past 43 years, moving from Pickens, S.C. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a television repairman 42 years and retired from Nance Home Furnishings.
Survivors include his mother, Lillian, of Pickens, S.C.; one son, Tony, Houston, Texas; one daughter, Debbie Dayton, North Richardson Hills, Texas; one brother, Marshall, Pickens, S.C.; two sisters, Jennel Miller and Sarah Hickey, both of Pickens, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Waldrop.
HURST, Texas -- Services for Paul M. Spurlock, 72, Hurst, a former Ardmore resident, were Saturday in Hurst. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Born Nov. 25, 1925, in Ardmore, he died Aug. 13, 1998, in a Bedford hospital.
Mr. Spurlock was a retired aerospace engineer.
Survivors include his wife, LaVone, of the home; two sons, a daughter, five sisters, and four grandchildren.
WAURIKA -- Services are pending for Cleo Capehart Davis, 93, retired business owner, with the Willis C. Worley and Sons Funeral Hospital.
Davis died Aug. 15, 1998, at the Jefferson County Hospital.
Services for Evelyn F. Phillippe, 78, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Harvey-Douglas Chapel with the Rev. Monty Baggett officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Phillippe died Aug. 16, 1998, in the local hospital. She was born to William H. and Grace Douthard Cramer Feb. 6, 1920, at Lincoln, Ark.
She married Ray Phillippe Dec. 7, 1942, at San Diego and had lived in Ardmore since 1958. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Ray, Denton, Texas; a daughter, Linda Spencer, Ardmore; three brothers, Harry Cramer, Fort Worth, Texas, Bob and Lee Cramer, Ardmore; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Greg and Luke Spencer, Jeff and Randy Phillippe, Bill Coleman and Rick Cramer.
Services for Lloyd R. Booth, 75, are pending from Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home. He died Aug. 16, 1998, at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home.
Services for Mark Jamaar "G" Grant, 17, are pending from Ragsdale-Grant and Sons Mortuary. Grant died Aug. 16, 1998, in an Oklahoma City hospital.
SULPHUR -- Services for Edith Carter, 83, are pending from Clagg Funeral Home. Mrs. Carter died Aug. 16, 1998, in Sulphur.
RINGLING -- Graveside rites for Elizabeth Fields Neble, 83, Midwest City, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ringling Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. John Vrana officiating.
Mrs. Neble died Aug. 15, 1998. She was born to Ethan O. and Agnes Wood Fields on Dec. 27, 1914, at Elko, Nev.
She lived in the Ringling area from 1933 until 1962, then lived in Roswell, N.M., Ardmore and Montana before moving to Midwest City in 1992. Her husband, John Neble, preceded her in death in 1961.
She is survived by three daughters, Eva Polich, Gallup, N.M., Irene Neble, Midwest City, and Elizabeth Freeman, Del City; a son, John Jr., Ringling; two sisters, Millie Cooper, Ehrenberg, Calif., and Hazel Mauger, Sequim, Wash.; a brother, E.O. Fields, Issaquah, Wash.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Reser Funeral Home will direct services.
WILSON -- Services for former Marietta resident Maude Warthen are pending from Alexander Funeral Home. Mrs. Warthen died Aug. 17, 1998, in a Marlow health care facility.
Among her survivors are a son, Don, Marlow; a sister, Irby Fitts, Burneyville; and two brothers, Thurman, Monkres, Marietta, and Buck Monkres, Colorado.
SULPHUR -- Services for Edith Louise Carter, 82, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Clagg Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Eddie Malphrus officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Carter died Aug. 16, 1998, in Sulphur. She was born Oct. 3, 1915, at Willis, to Edward L. and Eula Thompson Manis.
She attended school at Gilsonite and Sulphur and attended East Central State College. She was a housemother at the Oklahoma School for the Deaf for 17 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Canasta Club and Elks Lodge Women's Association. She and Wesley Carter were married Aug. 10, 1934, in Sulphur.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a daughter, Barbara Marian, Sarcoxie, Mo.; and granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a sister, Opal Chesnutt.
Bearers will be David Herring, Paul Thompson, Steve Miller, Carson Hollis, Russell Watson and Miles Blevins.
DAVIS -- Services for Jessie Gardenhire are pending from Fox Funeral Home. Gardenhire died Aug. 17, 1998, in Warwick, N.Y.
DAVIS -- Services for Ruth Hooker will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Finis Steelman officiating. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hooker died Aug. 17, 1998, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was born June 26, 1910, at Ballinger, Texas, to J.S.B. "Abe" and Dora L. Singleterry Mulkey.
She had worked as a checker at Johnson Grocery and was a Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church many years. She and Allsie L. Hooker were married Oct. 1, 1936, at Duncan. He preceded her in death Jan. 28, 1973.
She is survived by two nephews, A.L. "Buddy" Mulkey Jr., Davis; and Wayne Mulkey, Wichita Falls.
Bearers will be John Boettcher, Bob Bumgarner, Greg, Layne, Buddy and Wayne Mulkey.
Graveside services for James W. "Bill" Lansford, 84, Duncan, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Dan Patman officiating.
Lansford died Aug. 17, 1998, in Duncan. He was born April 23, 1914, at Dardanelle, Ark., to Lester L. Sansford and Jessie Deeds.
He was a production foreman for Texaco before he retired in 1977 after 47 years of service. He married Irene William March 5, 1935, at Waurika. She died Jan. 24, 1994.
Survivors include five children, Donna Herman, Midland, Texas, Patricia Lowe, Newcastle, Kenneth Lansford, Zephyr Hills, Fla., Dale Lansford and Gayle Sanner, Duncan; a sister, Maxine Carlton, Pauls Valley; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Bearers will be James Herman, Bryan Lansford, Jay and Kevin Lowe, Jeffrey and Michael Sanner.
