SULPHUR -- Graveside rites for Thelma Lee Freeman, 73, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Oaklawn Cemetery with the Rev. Eddie Malphrus officiating.
Mrs. Freeman died Sept. 13. 1924, in Broken Arrow. She was born Dec. 30, 1924, at Ada, to Hugh and Essie Bennett.
Reared in Ada, she married Fred Freeman Oct. 9, 1944, at McAlester, and moved to Sulphur that same year. She was formerly employed at Lois Dress Shop, Larry's Pharmacy, and the past 10 years was a desk clerk at Super 8 Motel. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Her husband preceded her in death Aug. 14, 1994.
Survivors include a son, Bob "Freddie," Broken Arrow; a sister, Bobbie Roddy, Midwest City; and a granddaughter.
Clagg Funeral Home will direct services.
Graveside rites for former Ardmore resident Thomas Brandon Carruth Sr., 81, Shawnee, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Carruth died Sept. 14, 1998, in Shawnee. He was born Aug. 15, 1917, at Lindsay, to Thomas B. and Maude Brandenburg Carruth.
Reared in Ardmore, he married Edith Juanita Williams on Nov. 26, 1937, and worked in aircraft manufacturing during World War II. He worked for an oil supply company and in 1957 moved to Shawnee to raise cattle. He was a deacon at Liberty Baptist Church and active Gideon member.
Survivors include his wife; children, Diane Robertson, Oklahoma City, Tom Jr., Moore, and Patti Durrett, Edmond; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as bearers.
Memorials may be made to the Gideons.

Services for Tommie Allen Ferguson are pending from Craddock Funeral Home. He died Sept. 15, 1998, in Ardmore.
Survivors include his wife, Nita, of the home; two sons, Gene, Amelia, La., and Mike, San Diego, Calif.; and two sisters, Ruby Barley, San Diego, and Lena Jones, Marlow.
Services for Calvin Phillips will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at CrystalRock Cathedral with the Revs. Walt Spradling and Ray Paschen officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Phillips died Sept. 14, 1998, in an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born Oct. 22, 1929, at Orr, to Clide and O'Dessie Redman Phillips.
A lifelong area resident, he was a trucker and construction worker and member of CrystalRock Cathedral. He and Ellen Madewell were married Feb. 11, 1952, at Gainesville, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Tammy Herrin, Purcell; a son, Kenneth, Ardmore; and a granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl.
Bearers will be Gene Jones, Bob Groomer, Ronald Burns, Doris Kirby, Charles Buck and Dan Jones. Honorary bearers are Font Owen, Wayman Woodley, Charles Edmonds, Leo Woodrow, Lester Gunsolus, C.J. Burnam, Harold Stinson and H.A. Hodges.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Craddock Funeral Home.
OAKVIEW -- Services for Billy Joy Price, 70, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Oakview Baptist church with Boyce Moon and Dr. Joe Potter officiating. Interment will be at Oakview Cemetery.
Mrs. Price died Sept. 14, 1998, in the Madill hospital. She was born Sept. 22, 1927, at Bixby, to William H. and Beulah Massey Westenbarger.
Reared in Seminole, she moved to Wewoka in 1966 and to Madill in 1994. She retired from the Department of Human Services, was a member of AARP and Oakview Baptist Church. She was the widow of James Price who died in June 1986.
Survivors include a daughter, Pam Hubert, Columbus, Miss.; a son, Dr. William Price, Powell; a sister, Ardell Ruddy, Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, James, Aug. 10, 1984; brother, Noah Westenbarger, March 23, 1942; and a grandson.
Bearers will be Mike Carr, Rick Hudson Dr. Joe Potter, Dr. J.M. Pontius, Ben Whisenant, Randy Grissom and Brent Katigan.

Services for Janet L. Ramsey were scheduled at 10 a.m. today, Sept. 17, 1998, at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Donny Custer officiating. Interment followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Janet was born Nov. 4, 1949, in Ardmore, to Clarence (Son) and Lois Herweck Day. She passed from this life Sept. 15, 1998, at her home in Ardmore.
She married Ronnie Ramsey on June 21, 1968, in Ardmore. She lived in Ardmore all of her life and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, of the home; a daughter, Amy Ramsey of Norman; her mother, Lois Day Hambay of Ardmore; and a sister and brother-in-law, Jamie and Charlotte Rutledge of Ardmore. She was preceded in death by her father.
Bearers were Greg and Jeff Rutledge, Scott McKinnie, David Potter, Casey Auten and Greg DeBerry.
Memorials may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice.

A private memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 18, 1998 in the Antlers City Cemetery for Verna Mae Duncan.
Mrs. Duncan was born March 14, 1915, at Hammon, Okla., to James D. and Pansy Columbus Johnson Duncan. She passed from this life on Sept. 14, 1998, in Ardmore.
She worked for a McDonnell Douglas Corp. aircraft facility in California. She had lived in Ardmore since July of 1987 and was a member of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Johnnie and Doug Wooten of Ardmore; a son, Edward Dee Jamison, California; several grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

PONCA CITY -- Services for former Ardmore resident Anna Mae Logan will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church, Ponca City. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Logan died Sept. 15, 1998. She was born Jan. 3, 1899, in East Texas, to William C. and Frances Shaw Thrasher.
She moved to Ardmore as an infant and married James Edgar Logan April 17, 1917, at Woodford. He died in 1983.
She is survived by two sons, Paul, Pryor, and Barto, Ponca City; a sister, Evelyn McDaniel, Arlington, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 218 S. 6th St., Ponca City, OK 74601.
Memorial services for William Frank "Bill" Knight will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Wade Paschal officiating.
Born Nov. 7, 1934, at Ardmore, to William Bee and Pearl Mitchell Knight, he died Sept. 18, 1998, in an Oklahoma City hospital.
He married Gloria Wood on Feb. 1, 1963, in Ardmore.
A lifelong resident of Ardmore, he was a member of the Ardmore High School Class of 1953. He attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Contra Costa University in California. He and been an employee of OG&E Electric Services for 38 years, retiring in 1995 as a senior marketing sales consultant.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one daughter, Deborah Bogumil-Knight, Houston; one son, Roger "Butch" Knight, Ardmore; one sister, Carol Fresquez, Napa, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Memorial services for William Frank "Bill" Knight will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 1998, at First United Methodist Church in Ardmore with Dr. Wade Pascal officiating. Eulogists will be Dr. Horace Bailey, Kenneth Beard, Bob Brady, Don Johnson, Frank Johnson, R.C. Sandvick, Harold Tipps and Royce Wilmoth.
Born Nov. 7, 1934, to William Bee and Pearl Mitchell Knight, he died Sept. 18, 1998, in an Oklahoma City hospital.
Bill Knight, known as "Moose" by many of his friends, graduated from Ardmore High School in 1953, attended Southeastern State University and Contra Costa College in California. He entered the U.S. Army where he was a sergeant in special services. After receiving his Honorable Discharge from the Army in 1962, he returned to Ardmore and married Gloria Wood on Feb. 1, 1963.
An employee of OG&E, he retired as power sales consultant in 1995 with 34 years of service. Many community organizations benefited from his enthusiasm and dedication, particularly the Ardmore Jaycees. He served as Ardmore president in 1967, state vice-president in 1968, and as Oklahoma State On-To chairman in 1969. He received his JCI Senatorship in 1968. He also participated actively in the Ardmore Kiwanis and Optimists, and in the Madill Lions and Rotary clubs.
He loved the outdoors and was an active member of the National Rifle Association. He chaired the annual OG&E Fishing Rodeo for many years and had an abiding fondness for Lake Texoma.
His greatest love, however, was the people in his life. His wife, children, grandchildren and many friends are the beneficiaries of warm and treasured memories of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria, of the home; one daughter, Deborah Bogumil-Knight, Houston; one son, Roger "Butch" Knight, Ardmore; one sister, Carol Fresquez, Napa, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Sarah Knight, Ryan Knight and Emily Bogumil.
Honorary pallbearers are Charles Allison, Bill Anderson, Ralph Johnston, Don Mayhew, Don Roe, Dale Wright and the OG&E family.
HEALDTON -- Graveside rites for Janis Laverne Preble, 63, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Olive Cemetery with the Rev. Mickey L. Banks officiating.
Mrs. Preble died Sept. 19, 1998, in the local hospital after a sudden illness. She was born June 7, 1935, at Stecker, to Joseph and Sadie Chesney Williams.
She lived in Marlow and Rush Springs before moving to Healdton in 1983, the year she and Oliver "Bud" Preble were married on Jan. 8 in Ardmore. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a daughter, Kathy Glover, Oklahoma City; four sons, Charles Nunn, Colorado Springs, Colo., Justin Nunn, Marlow, Karl and Philip Nunn, Rush Springs; three stepdaughters, Betty Campbell, Glenda Banks and Sandra Maravich, Oklahoma City; two sisters, Dorothy Stewart, Graham, and Vivian Travis, Marlow; three grandchildren; and numerous stepgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by a stepson, Bobby Preble; and a granddaughter.

RINGLING -- Graveside rites for Kimberly Dawn Pierce, 39, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ringling Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Ellen Abshire officiating.
Mrs. Pierce died Sept. 19, 1998, in Ardmore. She was born April 7, 1959, at Lawton, to Clyde R. and Virginia Underwood Wright.
Reared in Ringling, she attended East Central University and married Greg Pierce in 1979. She lived in Healdton before returning to Ringling.
Survivors include a son, Derek; and two daughters, Ginny and Chelsea Pierce, all of Healdton; her mother, Virginia Wright, Ringling; and grandmother, Alzada Hudson, Ringling; a sister, Mary St. Marie, Santa Rosa, Calif.; and three brothers, Gerry Wright, Lawton, Ronald Wright, Moore, and Norman Wright, Tulsa.
