MIDLAND, Texas -- Services for Samuel Ryan "Sam" Geer will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Midland, Texas. Interment will be at Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
Sam died Oct. 9, 1998, in the Midland hospital. He was born July 14, 1987, in Midland.
He was a fifth-grade student at Greathouse Elementary School where he was quarterback for the Colts. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, Steve and Peggy Geer, Midland; a brother, Roy, Midland; grandparents, Joan Payne, Euless, Texas, Bob Payne, Fort Worth, Texas, and Brenda Jones, Grand Prairie, Texas; and great-grandmother, Leona Matthews, Ardmore.
Memorials may be made to M.D. Anderson Children's Hospital in Houston.
Funeral services for Huss Standifer will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Monty Baggett officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.
He was born to the late William Newton and Sarah Standifer on Feb. 11, 1916, in Johnson County. He died Oct. 11, 1998, at his residence.
He married the former Oteka Shebester on March 21, 1950, at Gainesville, Texas.
Mr. Standifer was a rancher and former Carter County District 1 County Commissioner having served as such for 28 years, from 1958 to 1986. He served with the Army during World War II, having fought in the Pacific Theatre. He had lived in Ardmore area most of his life and was a member of Ardmore Masonic Lodge, received his 50-year pin.
He is survived by his wife, Oteka, of the home; daughters, Judy Johnson of Lebanon, Cathy Spikes of Ardmore, and Laura Moore also of Lebanon; a brother, J.W. Standifer of Sulphur; sisters, Marie Palmer of Yucaipa, Calif., Estelle Edwards of Ardmore, and Wanda Brick of Riverside, Calif.; six grandchildren, Cody and Tosha Spikes, Wesley, Lucas and Adrian Johnson and Carly Moore.
Pallbearers will be Bill Elliott, Randy Hicks, Keith Gray, LeLand Walker, Bobby Townley and W.C. Jordan. Honorary bearers are Harold Rudd, Joe Brown, Tommy Howard, Dan Harris, Eldon Hamilton, Jack McClure, Vance Lollis and Creede Speake.
Memorials may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice, 1514 Meadow Lane, Ardmore, OK 73401.
HEALDTON -- Private funeral services will be conducted for Christopher Boyd Knipe, infant son of Christopher and Brandy Knipe of Lone Grove, who died Oct. 9, 1998, in the Denison, Texas, hospital.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Kayli RaNea, of the home; his grandparents, James and Glenda Knipe, Healdton, Karen Bounds, Bells, Texas, and Thomas Hamilton, Fort Worth, Texas; and great-grandparents, J.B. Knipe, Pruitt City, Edith Pittman, Ratliff City, Hadley Upton, Bells, and Jackie Reed, Plano, Texas.
Reser Funeral Home will direct services.
TISHOMINGO -- Services for J.D. McCraw, 73, will be at 2 p.m. today at Corbin Memorial Chapel with Jon Hazel officiating. Interment will be at Tishomingo Cemetery.
McCraw died Oct. 11, 1998, in Oklahoma City. He was born at Maude, to John and Nellie McCraw.
Reared in Sulphur, he was a farm worker and had lived in Tishomingo since 1962.
Survivors include six brothers, James, Oklahoma City, John, Mannsville, Donald, Las Vegas, Kenneth, Laverne and Glen, Tishomingo; and two sisters, Roberta Barnes, Jal, N.M., and Dorris Hardgrove, Roswell, N.M. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara Qualls, Shirley McCraw and Jannie Sims.
Services for Everette Odis Neely, 84, are pending from Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home. He died Oct. 13, 1998, in a local health care facility.
Memorial services for Melville Cannon Turnbull, 84, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 1998, in Noble Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dan Patman officiating.
Following the service, the family will receive friends in the parlor area of the church.
The daughter of the late Hal Muldrow and Esther Gibson Cannon, she was born Dec. 14, 1913, in Ardmore, and passed away in Austin, Texas on Oct. 9, 1998.
Mrs. Turnbull was a resident of Ardmore for most of her life, having moved to Austin in 1992. She attended the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ardmore and had attended Westminster Presbyterian Church in Austin. She was active in civic organizations, but her home and family were always her primary concern.
During her lifetime she enjoyed the friendship of many people, of all ages and stations. Her special flair, wit, and gracious concern for others will be deeply missed.
She is survived by a daughter Ann, and her husband, Jack Kidd; a son, Kenneth Thomas Turnbull; grandchildren, Ellen, and husband, David Lake, and William, and wife, Carlotta McLean; stepgrandchildren, Kristin, and husband, Drake Fason, and Craig Kidd; four great-grandchildren; and a niece, Marilyn Bell Gude, who was especially close to Mrs. Turnbull.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the individual's charity of choice.
Services will be directed by Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
SULPHUR -- Graveside rites for Robert E. Lowe, 68, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the veterans section at Oaklawn Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Leveridge officiating.
Lowe died Oct. 13, 1998, in Oklahoma City. He was born Jan. 22, 1930, in West Virginia, to Everett F. and Mary E. Backus Lowe.
Reared in West Virginia, he enlisted in the Army in 1947 and served 20 years during the Korean conflict and Vietnam era until his retirement in 1967. He had lived in Sulphur since 1984.
Survivors include a niece, Mary Farley, Cincinnati, Ohio; and nephew, Marty Lowe, Winchester, Va. He was preceded in death by a sister.
Clagg Funeral Home will direct services.
NORMAN -- Services for former Ardmore resident Geraldine Moore, 82, are pending from Roesch Funeral Home in Norman. She died Oct. 14, 1998, in the Norman hospital.
She is survived by a sister, Ernestine Milot Moore, Norman.
Services for Edgar A. Johnson are pending with Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.
Born March 16, 1904, at Tribby to Joseph and Josephene Johnson, he died Oct. 17, 1998, at a local hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Elizabeth Petty Johnson, of the home; one daughter, Joyce Wilson, Ardmore; one brother, Arthur A. Johnson, Wichita, Kan.; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
MEEKER -- Services for Lola Marie Northcutt will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Pearcy officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Ada.
Born July 1, 1902, at Aurora, Mo., to William M. and May Turner Norman she died Oct. 16, 1998, at a Meeker nursing facility. She married L.B. Northcutt, who preceded her in death in 1965. She was also preceded in death by six brothers, two sisters; and one granddaughter.
Mrs. Northcutt had lived in Meeker for seven years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Treva Marie Engel, Meeker; one son, Neil Northcutt, Davis; two brothers. B.E. "Jack" Norman, Healdton, and Waldon Harman, Lovington, N.M.; four grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
Bearers are grandsons.
Services are under the direction of Fox Funeral Home, Davis.
MADILL -- Services for Jackie Meeks, 51, were Saturday at Watts Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Larry Holder officiating. Interment followed at Oaklawn Cemetery, Sulphur.
Born Jan. 25, 1947, at Sulphur, he died Oct. 14, 1998, at his Kingston residence.
Reared at Madill, Meeks served in the United States Army for six years and was stationed in Germany. He lived at Norman and Oklahoma City before moving back to the Madill area in 1993. Meeks worked in maintenance for the postal service and was the former owner of a physical fitness gym at Madill.
Survivors include one son, Brian Meeks, Bedford, Texas; and one sister, Charlene Murray, Grand Prairie, Texas.
No services are scheduled for Robert Lee Mishler, 76.
Born Feb. 7, 1922, at Merimac to George Lee and Hazel Hammer Mishler, he died Oct. 16, 1998, at a local nursing facility following an extended illness.
A resident of Ardmore most of his life, He married Gloria Fern Easterwood at Ardmore. He served in the Merchant Marines for many years. He also worked for Warren Oil Company and was retired from Lacks Lines Shipping.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two stepsons, Johnny Davenport, Wilson, and Jack Davenport, Colorado; one stepdaughter, Billie Rynning, Colorado; one sister, Gladys Patterson, New Mexico.

Services for James A. Shotts, 69, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Monty Baggett officiating.
Born April 21, 1929, at Pocasset to David F. and Cora Mae Wright Shotts, he died Oct. 17, 1998, at a local hospital. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Alton Shotts.
He operated Shotts Electric in Altus and worked for many years with the telephone company. Shotts also worked for the cable company. He was a Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law , Don and Linda Shotts, Hollis; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra Ann and Sonny Banister, Altus; one brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Irene Shotts, Buena Vista, Ark; one sister and brother-in-law, LaDean and Gayle Irwin, Houston; and six grandchildren.
MARIETTA -- Services for LaWana Batson Rhyne, 59, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Mike Sampson officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
Born Jan. 9, 1939, at Marietta to W.T. and Violet Wilson Batson, she died Oct. 16, 1998, at a local hospital. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patty G. Rhyne, on Oct. 29, 1986.
Mrs. Rhyne was a retired dispatcher for the Love County Sheriff's Department. She attended the First Christian Church.
Survivors include one son, Chad Rhyne, Falconhead; one brother, Bill Batson, Marietta; and one grandson.
Bearers are Paul Hallum, Bobby Phillips, Wayne Rains, Lynn Puckett, Hubert Sampson and Roy Rains. Honorary bearers are Jim Locke, J.T. O'Connor Jr., Charles Clark, Fred Grice Sr. and Bub Perry.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Services are under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.
MARLOW -- Services for Jeffery Lynn Kinsey, 30, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alvin McConnell officiating. Interment will follow at Marlow Cemetery.
Born March 8, 1968, at Anadarko, he died Oct. 15, 1998, at Lawton. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Clark; step father, Loren Clark and his grandfathers.
Kinsey attended Marlow schools and graduated from Marietta High School in 1989. He married Kelly Cox on Oct. 19, 1991, at Ardmore. He had worked for Sooner Trailers.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one son, Dakota Kinsey, of the home; one daughter, Katie Kinsey, of the home; his father and stepmother, J.P. and Doris Kinsey, Duncan; four brothers, Pat, Terry and Danny Kinsey and Mike Clark all Marlow; two sisters, Debbie Hale, Healdton, and Kelli Kinsey, Marlow; one half-sister, Kim Kinsey, Mississippi; grandmothers, Rhonda Voss, Marlow, and Teresa Clark, Kansas.
