SULPHUR ‹ Memorial services for Bradley Wade Hembree, 27, will be at 2 p.m. today at Dolberg Cemetery under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home of Sulphur.
Born Aug. 6, 1971, to Melva and Johnny Hembree in Pauls Valley, he died Oct. 30, 1998. He was reared in Duncan before moving to Sulphur where he worked as a bricklayer.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Survivors include a son, Anthony Scott Haney, Duncan; his father, of the home; two brothers, James and Michael Hembree of Sulphur; two sisters Sherri Glikbarg of Sulphur and Dana DeGraw of Midwest City.
Services for Maggie Belle Grossman Eason are pending from Craddock Funeral Home. She died Oct. 30, 1998, in the Sulphur hospital.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, among them, Milner Patten, Sulphur.
Services for Harold Leroy Bissett, 77, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Revs. Robert Hinckley and John Wackler officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. A prayer vigil will be at 7 tonight at Harvey-Douglas Chapel.
Bissett died Nov. 2, 1998, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born Feb. 13, 1921, at Sandusky, Mich., to William and Angeline Ramsden Bissett.
He married Gertrude Wahl May 24, 1941, in Detroit and served with the Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He worked for Uniroyal Tire Co. in Detroit and was transferred to Ardmore in 1970. He retried in June 1983 after 37 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; three daughters, Jayanna Neill, Oscoda, Mich., Janet Easson, Troy, Mich., and Jean Bissett, Tulsa; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Charles and Voyle.
Bearers will be Bill Chambers, Casey Verhoeven, Hollie Rudoni, Robert Easson, Shawn and Scott Dinkfelt.
Memorials may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice or Trinity Lutheran Church.
MADILL -- Services for Mabel Louise Irwin, 83, will be at 2 p.m. today at Watts Memorial Chapel with Lyndol Adams officiating. Interment will be at Rollins Cemetery.
Mrs. Irwin died Nov. 2, 1998, at her residence. She was born Aug. 29, 1915, at Simpson.
A lifetime resident of Simpson, she married Robert Nelson Irwin Jan. 21, 1937, at Oakland, and was an independent ranch operator. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Her husband preceded her in death Feb. 5, 1980.
Survivors include a daughter, Robbie Crowson, Simpson; four brothers, George Russell, Simpson, Jack Russell, Baseball City, Fla., Elmer Russell, Olivehurst, Calif., and Paul Russell, Ardmore; two grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
Bearers will be Jack Cumbie, Ian Chapman, Don Curtis, Brad Kirk, Shannon Poppe and Devyrle Ingle.
HURST, Texas -- Services for Evelyn Lyon Busey, 75, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, at the Pipeline Road Church of Christ. Interment will be at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
At Pernell, Okla., on Dec. 17, 1922, our precious Lord walked Evelyn Busey of Hurst into this world. He gave her a loving husband and friend, Roy Lee Busey on Sept 28, 1940. He then blessed them with wonderful children.
On Nov. 3, 1998, our precious Lord then took our wife and Mama by the hand and led her home to be with her daughter Roycelen Snow and her grandson, Ronnie Snow.
She is survived by her husband; a son and his wife, Thomas and Barbara Busey, Hurst; a daughter and her husband, Sandra and Bill Stephens, also Hurst; grandchildren and spouses, Rev. Jacklyn and Dick McNeil, Amarillo, Texas, Charles and Stephanie Snow, Hurst, Scottie Snow, Arlington, Texas, Chris Busey, Hurst, John Stephens, Lake Worth, Texas, Michelle and Neil Quigley, Arlington, Donnie Snow, New York, and Brian Busey, Hurst; and great-grandchildren, Shane McNeil, Hannah Beth Snow, Amber McNeil, Elijah Snow, Scotty Snow's children, and Victoria Stephens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pipeline Church of Christ building fund.
Services will be directed by Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel, Fort Worth, Texas.
Funeral services for Azalee O. Narmore, 95, will be Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Wade Paschal and the Rev. Dan Patman officiating. Interment will be at Woodbury Forest Cemetery, Madill.
The daughter of the late Robert Jefferson and Olivia Rives Taylor, she was born Jan. 26, 1903, at Rhome, Texas, and passed away this morning, Nov. 9, 1998, in the local hospital following a brief illness.
She married William Henry Narmore April 13, 1926, at Marietta. He preceded her in death Feb. 29, 1980.
A former teacher, Narmore taught for nearly 40 years before she retired in 1966. She also worked at the Ardmore Air Force Base during the war. She was a member of OEA, NEA, ORTA, NARFE, Carter County Retired Teachers Association and Salvation Army Auxiliary. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church, Cora Carlock Sunday school class and United Methodist Women.
She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Emily Taylor of Sherman, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Floyd, R.J. Jr., Carl, Clyde and Claude.
Memorials may be made to First Methodist Church, Children's Shelter of Salvation Army.
Services will be directed by Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Services for Carroll D Butler, 65, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roger Wood officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.
Butler died Nov. 8, 1998, at his residence. He was born Aug. 10, 1933, at Martha.
He married Opal Ruth Stephens Aug. 15, 1954, at Elmer and moved to Ardmore in 1969 from Carmi, Ill. He was a petroleum engineer employed by Arco Oil and Gas Co. 30 years before he retired as district production superintendent. He was an active member and Sunday school teacher at Asbury United Methodist Church. He was also a Mason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dec. 27, 1988; and his father, Lee Roy "Dee" Butler.
Survivors include two sons, Kevin and Ronny, Ardmore; two daughters, Vicki Cranford, Ardmore, and Stephanie Teacle, Lake Charles, La.; his mother, Vesta Butler, Elmer; two brothers, Coy, Elmer, and Terry, Altus; a sister, Vereda Knight, Altus; and six grandchildren.
Bearers will be Steve Lovejoy, Jimmy Dale and Mike Stephens, Ken, Kirk and Jeremy Butler.
Funeral services for Naomi Peery, 59, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Harvey-Douglas Chapel with the Rev. Ron Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Daughter of the late Curtis and Neroli Keltner Vaughn, she was born July 3, 1939, at Wilson, and passed away Nov. 8, 1998, at her residence following an extended illness.
She and James T. Peery were married Aug. 9, 1958, at Wilson, and had lived in this area all her life.
She is survived by her husband, of the home; a daughter, Cindy Warren of Ardmore; a brother, Gene Vaughn of Borger, Texas; and a granddaughter, Chelsea Warren of Ardmore.
Sam Woodell and her nephews will act as bearers.
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Willie V. Truesdell, 81, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Corbin Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jon Smith officiating.
Truesdell died Nov. 8, 1998, in Durant. He was born July 27, 1917, at Graham, to Tom B. and Emma L. Connard Truesdell.
He served with the Marine Corps during World War II and lived in Oklahoma City most of his life before moving to the Johnston County area. He was formerly employed as an asbestos worker and in heating and cold storage. He was a member of VFW and Pipe-fitters Union for 59 years. He and Katherine M. Barlow were married Nov. 19, 1938, in Oklahoma City.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; a daughter, Katherine Truesdell, Ravia; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary L. Hicklin; a brother, Tommy; and two sisters, Pat Truesdell and Mary Hunt.
RINGLING -- Graveside rites for William Daniel House will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ringling Memorial Cemetery with the Revs. Leo Potts and Wayne Howard officiating.
House died Nov. 8, 1998, in Ardmore. He was born Feb. 23, 1943, in Oklahoma City.
A lifetime resident of the Ardmore area, he married Shirley Ann Howard Feb. 20, 1980, at Lone Grove, and had worked as a barber.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; four daughters, Carol Robertson, Denton, Texas, Melinda Ward, Lone Grove, Deanna Rethford and Cheryl Henderson, Oklahoma City; his parents, Eddie "Levi" and Grace House, Ardmore; a brother, Allen, Oklahoma City; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Craddock Funeral Home will direct services.
HEALDTON -- Services for Ethel "Atlas" Lindsay, 80, are pending from Reser Funeral Home. Mrs. Lindsay died Nov. 9, 1998, in the Ardmore hospital.
She is survived by two daughters, Jeanne Teel, Healdton, and Etta Reid, Waurika; and two sons, Robert, Midwest City, and Joyle, Reno, Nev.
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Myrtle Lee Anderson, 102, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Carpenter officiating. Interment will be at Ravia Cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson was born Feb. 11, 1896, in Frederick, Indian Territory, to Jim and Easter Hampston Turner. She died Nov. 8, 1998, in a local health care facility.
She was married to Pete Anderson in 1912 at Stonewall. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter; two brothers; and three sisters. She was a Methodist.
She is survived by a nephew, Leon Bloxham, Ravia.
HEALDTON, -- Services for Ethel Atlas Lindsey, 80, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at East Texas Church of Christ with Bill Davis officiating. Interment will be at Mount Olive Cemetery under the direction of Reser Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lindsey died Nov. 9, 1998, in the Ardmore hospital. She was born Nov. 16, 1917, at Seagoville, Texas, to Monroe and Ethel Patterson Altom.
She moved with her family to the Healdton area at the age of 12 and graduated from Fox High School as valedictorian. She married Robert Lindsey Dec. 16, 1938, at Ringling, and they lived in several towns before returning to this area in 1946. She was a member of East Texas Church of Christ and Shamrock Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oct. 17, 1972; and three brothers, Sherman, Lonnie and M.J. Altom.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeanne Teel, Healdton, and Etta Reid, Waurika; two sons, Robert, Midwest City, and Joyle, Reno, Nev.; a brother, O.A. Altom, Ada; sister, Estelle Anthony, Dickson; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Meril Hodges, Eddie Ruth, Pat Smith, Bill Renfro, Jim Cannon and Rayon Bray.
RINGLING -- Services for Gladys L. Grove, 87, are pending from Alexander Funeral Home. Mrs. Grove died Nov. 10, 1998, in an Ardmore health care facility.
Among her survivors are a daughter, Bobbye Colson, Phoenix, Ariz.; and son, Bill Franke, Los Cruces, N.M.
SULPHUR -- Graveside rites for I.V. Holland, 77, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Oaklawn Cemetery with the Rev. Eric Dennis officiating.
Mrs. Holland died Nov. 9, 1998, in Madill. She was born May 4, 1921, at Idabel, to Walter and Vera Sergeant Ingram.
Reared in Idabel, she lived in Sulphur from 1942 until 1982, moved to Big Spring, Texas, and to Madill last year. She was a Baptist. She and George J. Holland were married Feb. 4, 1939, at DeQueen, Ark. He died July 6, 1985.
Survivors include three daughters, Helen Lollis, Kingston, Sue Emfinger, Lamesa, Texas, and Wanda Simmons, Tampa, Fla.; two sons, Haskell, Del Rio, Texas, and Terrell, Collieville, Texas; two brothers, Tillman Ingram, Mississippi, and James Ingram, Pasadena, Texas; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
