Graveside rites for Maxine Cox, 78, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Pruitt Cemetery with Bobby Christmas officiating.
Mrs. Cox died March 13, 1999, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was born Dec. 16, 1920, at Dickson.
She was a member of Allendale Baptist Church in Wichita Falls.
Survivors include four daughters, Brenda Thornton, Iowa Park, Texas, Donna Hawkins, Florence, Texas, Lone Hawkins and Karen Treadway, Wichita Falls; four sons, Jimmy R., Ardmore, Bobby W., California, Charles W., Wichita Falls, and Michael G., South Carolina; a sister, Mary McDonald, Bartlesville; four brothers, Carl Jackson, Durant, David Jackson, Marion, Kan., Paul Jackson, Coffeyville, Kan., and Wayne Jackson, Ardmore; 23 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Owens & Brumley Funeral Home will direct services.
Graveside rites for Maurice Josephine Lafevers will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill Cemetery with Roy Hannah officiating.
Mrs. Lafevers was born to John L. and Annie J. Whitsett Aug. 11, 1912, at Hickory. She died March 14, 1999, in a local health care facility.
She married Homer Calvin Lafevers Oct. 27, 1929, and had lived in Ardmore most of her life. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Her husband preceded her in death in 1967.
Survivors include sons, Jon C., Dallas, James O., Irving, Texas, and Larry G., Ardmore; daughter, Judith A. McGahey, Ardmore; brother, Winston Whitsett, Pampa, Texas; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Harold G., in 1980.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. this evening at Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.
BURNEYVILLE -- Services for Ruthie Mae Francis, 83, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. John Primitive Baptist Church, Burneyville, with Willie McGaskey officiating. Interment will be at Dunbar Cemetery.
Mrs. Francis died March 15, 1999, in the Ardmore hospital. She was born Oct. 25, 1915, in Burneyville, to Jim and Tennie Hornbeak Williams.
She moved to Ardmore from Marietta in 1967 and had been a domestic technician for the Saunders family 52 years. She was a member of St. John Primitive Baptist Church. She and Bennie Lee Francis were married July 23, 1944, at Marietta. He preceded her in death Nov. 24, 1966.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty J. Anderson, Ardmore; a brother, Willie Lornes, Denver; a sister, Virginia Harris, Ardmore; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kennedy Funeral Home.
FILLMORE -- Services for Clara "Mama Pete" Cargill, 96, Tishomingo, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 1999, at the Fillmore Church of the Nazarene with the Revs. Eugene Ledford and George "Bud" Cargill officiating. Interment will follow at Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn under the direction of Clark Funeral Service.
Mrs. Cargill died March 15, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was born July 31, 1902, in Tishomingo, Indian Territory, to Socrates "Crat" and Molly Walter Bennett Callen.
She married Ervin Cargill on Dec. 6, 1919, at Milburn, and they moved to California in 1940. She lived there until returning to Tishomingo in 1992 to be near her son. She was a homemaker and had always been very proud of being a charter member of Fillmore Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in December 1968; an infant daughter, Imogene; and three grandsons, Doug Sizemore Jr., Terry Autrey and Jimmy Baughman.
Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, JoAnn and Ralph Pynchon, Tishomingo, Oneta "Sissy" Johnson, Concord, Calif., Thelmet and Doug Sizemore and Sylvia Autrey of Nampa, Idaho; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Roberta Cargill, Fillmore, and David "Crat" and Shirley Cargill, Nampa.; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Dale Callen, Larry Callen, Randel Johnson, Jaybird Callen, Brett Cargill and Donnie Joe Reed.
WOLF -- Services for Ruth Franks will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Freewill Baptist Church in Wolf. Interment will be at Wolf Cemetery.
Mrs. Franks died March 15, 1999, in Tishomingo. She was born Oct. 13, 1910, at Bowie, Texas, to George B. and Anna C. Lack.
She attended school at Ray City and was a member of Wolf Freewill Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and had lived in Tishomingo the past 15 years.
Survivors include a son, Don, Tishomingo; three brothers, Charles Lack, Wayne, Billy and Gene Lack, Norman; two sisters, Ruby Moore, Antlers, and Wanda Pollack, Noble; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Franks; three brothers, Frank, James and George Lack; and two sisters, Stella Milam and Sandra Green.
Services will be directed by Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole, and Corbin Funeral Home, Tishomingo.
Services for Elijah Lewis Morris will be at 1 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with Dr. Alton Fannin and the Rev. Monty Baggett officiating.
Morris died March 15, 1999, in the local hospital. He was born April 21, 1918, at Loco, to Obd and Bessie Head Morris.
A lifetime resident of this area, he served with the Army during World War II in Japan and was employed by Total Pipeline Co. 32 years before he retired. He became a member of First Baptist Church in 1989 after moving here from Ringling where he was a deacon and teacher at the Ringling Baptist Church. He and Mildred Cantwell were married Jan. 31, 1942, in Ringling.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Mavis Reynolds, Ardmore; a son, Don, Purcell; two brothers, Joe, Muskogee, and George, Ardmore; four grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence.
Bearers will be Buck Cantrell, Bill Miller, Wayne Waggoner, Freeman Blankenship, John DeHart and Glen Vanway. Honorary bearers are Worth Sunday school class members and Total Oil Co. retirees.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church building fund or American Heart Association.

Graveside services for Norma Woodley will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Lehman officiating.
Mrs. Woodley died March 16, 1999, in the local hospital. She was born April 7, 1908, in Ardmore, to Miller and Gertrude Musgrave Elliott.
A lifelong resident of Ardmore, she married J.O. Woodley Nov. 7, 1942, at Madill, and was a member of Advent Christian Church. She was a legal secretary for Dolman, Dolman and Veazey, attorneys at law, before she retired. Her husband preceded her in death in 1976.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary L. Woodley, Ardmore, and Ollene Carmack, Montgomery, Texas; a brother, Richard Elliott, Ardmore; and two grandchildren.
Craddock Funeral Home will direct services.
MADILL -- Services for Janis Faye Branam, 61, will be at 2 p.m. today at Watts Memorial Chapel with Brian Hobbs officiating. Interment will be at Woodberry Forest Cemetery.
Mrs. Branam died March 13, 1999, in Fayetteville, N.C. She was born Oct. 21, 1937, at Durant, to William and Jewell Wheeler.
Reared at Madill, she lived in Berlin 11 years and in San Antonio, Texas, before moving to Fayetteville three years ago She was a former rater for an insurance company. Her faith was Nazarene.
Survivors include two sons, Charles E. Branam II, San Antonio, and James Branam, Fayetteville; seven daughters, Jewell Wickham, Christy Laymon, and Laura Diaz, San Antonio, Becky Garcia and Carla Gaudin, Fayetteville, Shelly Curiel, Houston, and Misty Brown, Little Rock, Ark.; her mother, Jewell Powell Madill; and 20 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard "Dickie" Wheeler.
Bearers are Ramiro Garcia, Terry Wickham, Ernesto Curiel, Julio Diaz, John Laymon, Bobby Brown, Jason Gaudin, Charles Branam Il and James Branam.
SULPHUR -- Graveside services for Bessie Daniels, 92, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Daniels died March 16, 1999, in Sulphur. She was born March 2, 1907, in Missouri.
She was the widow of Frank Daniels who died in 1978.
She is survived by five sons, Jim, Pauls Valley, Tuffy, Frisco, Star and Bill, all of Sulphur; a daughter, Wanda Britt, Pauls Valley; and brother, Hop Young, Sulphur.
Fox Funeral Home will direct services.
Services for Dixie Mae Nix, 80, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Ardmore Revival Center with the Rev. Ivy Henson officiating. Interment will be at Lone Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Nix died March 16, 1999, in an Oklahoma City health care facility following an extended illness. She was born to Ernest L. and Effie Colson Rhodes Feb. 2, 1919, at Mannsville.
She was the widow of Hallie Grover Nix and a former home health nurse.
Survivors include two daughters, Lou Woodall, Norman, and Helen Jackson, Edmond; a son, Grover, Blanchard; brother, Ernest Rhodes; sister, Faye Dewbre, Lone Grove; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin, William and Bill Rhodes; and a sister, Stella Creagle.
Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home will direct services.
WILSON -- Funeral services for former Wilson resident Danny Ray Way Sr., 45, Cameron, La., will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 1999, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Labeth officiating. Interment will be at Hewitt Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
Mr. Way died March 17, 1999, off the coast of Louisiana following a helicopter accident. He was born July 2, 1953, in Ardmore, to Rayford and Joyce Paxson Way.
Reared in Wilson, he graduated from Wilson High School in 1971 and from the United Electronics Institute of Oklahoma City in 1973. He had worked as an automation technician for Amoco for 20 years. He and the former Joann Holloway were married Oct. 1, 1971, in Wilson. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shanda Rae-Ann Way, on Aug. 4, 1988.
Survivors include his wife, Joann; and a son, Danny Ray Way Jr., of the home; his parents, Rayford and Joyce Way of Wilson; three brothers and their wives, Tommy and Sheri Way of Wilson, Terry Way, also Wilson, and Ricky and Donna Way of Pinedale, Wyo.; his mother and father-in-law, Gladys and Robert Holloway Jr. of Wilson; sisters-in-law and their husbands, Jean and Darrell Farrell and Sue and Rick Merritt; brothers-in-law and their wives, Bob and Sandi Holloway and Bill and Jacquiline Holloway; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
Bearers will be Mike Sudderth, Tom Wharton, Tony Wharton, Jason Roberts, Donnie Hacker and Jim Goodin. Honorary bearers are nephews and Amoco co-workers.
WILSON -- Services for Modell Crouch Emerson will be at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Alexander Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Bomar Point Cemetery.
Mrs. Emerson died March 17, 1999, in Healdton. She was born to Clyde G. and Winnie E. Hefner Crouch, at Wilson.
Raised in Wilson, she married Wyile Emerson in 1934 at Ringling, and lived most of their married life in Zaneis where she owned and operated a beauty shop. She later moved into Healdton. She was a member of Healdton First Baptist Church and Ardmore chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include four daughters, Wylene Alston, Winnie, Texas, Joy Adams, Healdton, JoDean Tiner, Houston, and Jennifer Tynes, Wilson; five sisters, Lois Kimbrell, Borger, Texas, Ona Lee Eades, Caddo, Virginia Nicholson, Moore, Jo Neva Moore, Pittsburg, Kan., and Pauline Neal, Stinnett, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 31, 1988; a grandson; a brother, Homer Crouch on May 5, 1995; and two sisters, Bonnie Reed on Dec. 7, 1992, and Dorothy Gamble in February 1990.
Bearers will be Burt Tynes, Brad Tiner, Josh and Jared Holder, Roland and Wesley Farrar.
SULPHUR -- Services for Mabel L. Montague, 86, Mill Creek, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Clagg Funeral Home chapel with Don Clark officiating. Interment will be at Mill Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Montague died March 18, 1999, in Yukon. She was born Dec. 7, 1912, at Mill Creek, to Clifton and Mattie McKerley Owens.
Reared in Mill Creek, she attended Murray State College and medical school in St. Louis, Mo., graduating as a lab technician. She worked in Oklahoma City many years and returned to Mill Creek 25 years ago. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by a nephew, C.J. Owens. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Owens, in 1985.
Bearers will be Chad George, Paul Barron, C.J. Owens, Stanton and Douglas Haley.
