Services for Guy Givens, 90, will be 1 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church with Dr. Douglas R. Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Born Nov. 4, 1908, at Norman to Chess and Bessie McClain Givens, he died March 25, 1999, at a local hospital. He married Velma Jones on May 14, 1933, at Ardmore. She preceded him in death on Sept. 22, 1992. Two brothers, Herbert and Leonard Givens, and one sister, Blanche Barnes, also preceded him in death.
An Ardmore High School graduate, Givens had served on the board of education of Ardmore schools for 28 years. He was an Elder Emeritus of First Christian Church, a member of Masonic Lodge 31 AF&AM and a charter member of the Dirty Dozen Fishing Club. He had retired from Tyler Simpson Company, a wholesale grocery firm, for which he had been a sales representative.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Givens Ring, Garland, Texas; one son, Billy Guy Givens, Roanoke, Texas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Bearers are James Blalock, James B. Dolman, David Reavis, Steve Martin, Bill Winblood and Dr. Don Oxford.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church.
Services are under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Graveside rites for Mary Louise Bowen, 86, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Moore Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Arlington, Texas, with the Rev. Thomas W. Wilson officiating.
Born Jan. 19, 1913, at Bessmay, Texas, to Thomas J. and Annie Love Boynton Wilson, she died March 26, 1999, at her residence. She married Clarence W. Bowen on Dec. 24, 1933, at Beaumont, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1961. She was also preceded in death by a son, George W. Bowen.
Mrs. Bowen was a member of the American Nursing Association, Ardmore Chapter D.A.R., Mayflower Society and First Baptist Church. She had retired as the chief nursing supervisor of the veterans hospital in Dallas.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Booth and Emma Lou McNeil, both Ardmore; one son, Robert E., Garland, Texas; half-sister, Delores Hall, Beaumont; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Services for Jesse Donald Hendrix, 65, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Lighthouse Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Dewain Duck officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Born June 26, 1933, at Bixby to Buster and Leona Talcott Jacobs, he died March 26, 1999, at an Oklahoma City hospital.
He married Joyce Gunsolus on Aug. 16, 1985, at Ardmore. Hendrix was a United States Army veteran. He had been a resident of Ardmore since 1984, owning and operating Jess's Upholstery. He attended Lighthouse Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; four daughters, Carol L. and Kimberly D. Hendrix, Melinda Faulkner and Judy Son; five sons, David R., Michael A., Royce L., Billy D. and Jesse D. Jr.; one sister, Beverly Johnson; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Bearers are Floyd Gaither, Doyle Reynolds, Kip Reynolds, Gene Brownen, Danny Malone and John Taliaferro.
Services are under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home.
MADILL -- Services for Christena P. Loyd, 83, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Watts Memorial Chapel with Troy Capps officiating. Interment will follow at Woodberry-Forest Cemetery.
Born Jan. 22, 1916, at Tishomingo to Lorenzo and Frances Buford Patton, she died March 26, 1999, at a Dallas hospital following a lengthy illness. She married Clifton L. Loyd on Dec. 27, 1932, at Seminole. He preceded her in death in July 1986. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lester Patton.
Raised in the Bowlegs area, she moved to Artesia, N.M., in 1931. She lived at Artesia for 40 years, moving to Kingston in 1980. Mrs. Loyd was a member of the Texoma Baptist Church and Keenagers.
Survivors include one daughter, Jerry L. Swink, Dallas; one brother, O.D. Patton, Bennett, Colo.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Bearers are Jack Buckley, Larry Bailey, James Rawlins, Grady Meek, Kerry Lewis and Wayne Lewis. Honorary bearers are George Blaine and Joe Cleghorn.
TISHOMINGO Services for Frank Alexander White, 83, Midwest City, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Corbin Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Perry Crisp officiating. Interment will follow at Tishomingo City Cemetery.
Born Sept. 10, 1915, at Tishomingo to Alexander F. and Cordelia E. Hood White, he died March 25, 1999, at Midwest City. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Karen; two sisters, Margaret Wade and Ruth Donaldson; and five brothers, Aaron Smith, Robert Smith, Grady White, Bill White and Ray White.
He married Dahlia R. Smith Ayres on Sept. 16, 1937. White was a veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Army. He was retired from Tinker Air Force Base, where he had been a supervisor in the shipping department of the transportation division. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1857.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one daughter, Frances Henderson White, Midwest City; one brother, John, Midwest City; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
DURANT -- Services for Brice Duane Taylor, 46, were Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Griffin and the Rev. Darel Bunch officiating. Interment followed at Highland Cemetery.
Born March 7, 1953, at Ardmore, he died March 25, 1999, at a Dallas hospital.
A longtime resident of Bryan County, Taylor married Yolanda Brown on June 10, 1978, at Durant. He was the owner of FYI Marketers. He was a graduate of Wilson High School and a United States Army veteran. Taylor was a member of First Baptist Church and a member and former treasurer of the athletic boosters club.
Survivors include his wife, of Durant; three daughters, Holly A., Brandy D. and Jennifer D. Taylor, all Durant; mother, Barbara Robertson, Madill; father, L.A. Robertson, Madill; and two brothers, Greg Robertson, Madill, and Jeff Robertson, Broken Arrow.
Bearers were Richard Gallegos, Jeremy Riser, Dr. Terry Lee, Harry Hurst, Sam Vinall, Bill Elliott, Duane Meredith and David Brese. Honorary bearers were Billy A. Mickle, Matt Mickle, Bill Brewster, Jim Dunegan, Larry Dickerson, Kenny Simpson and Tom Seth Smith.

BURNEYVILLE -- Services for Bill W. Cooper, 65, Jimtown, will be 2 p.m. today in the Turner School Freeman Auditorium with the Rev. Mike Williams and the Rev. Brent Freelan officiating. Interment will follow at Leon Cemetery.
Born Jan. 23, 1934, at Jimtown to Bill Sr. and Bessie Kirk Cooper, he died March 25, 1999, at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was preceded in death by a son, Farran Cooper ,1979; his fathers, Jake Gordon, in 1997 and Bill Cooper Sr., 1985; and a nephew, Brent Howerton, 1995.
Mr. Cooper moved back to Love County in 1973. He married Carolyn Mobley on April 5, 1973, at Jimtown. He was an employee of Earth Energy Technology Inc., Marietta. Previously, he was self-employed in oilfield supplies. He was a member of the Jimtown Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; his mother, Bessie Gordon, Jimtown; stepmother, Mae Cooper, Tioga, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Bruce Mobley and Johnetta Hartman, Burneyville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Tom Lehman, Oklahoma City, Lisa and Stacey Hardin, Broken Arrow, and Jamie and Larry Roberts, Burneyville; two brothers, Johnny Gordon, Jimtown, and Jack Cooper, Sherman, Texas; four sisters, Charlene Howerton, Jimtown; Glenda Boener and Joyce Wilson, both Pilot Point, Texas, and Wanda Keys, Euless, Texas; two grandsons, Jason Stair and Tyler Hardin; four granddaughters, Amber Reed, Sierra Roberts, Sunni Roberts and Kylie Hardin.
Bearers are Joe Gordon, Jay Gordon, R.J. Howerton, Curt Gordon, Keith Gordon, Robin Hicks, Tony Hicks and Greg Chapman. Honorary bearers are Earth Energy Technology employees, REA employees, Bill Parrott, Paul Sandifer and Burney Hicks.
Services are under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.
SULPHUR -- Services for Eula Mae Jones, 77, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Clagg Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Malphrus officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Born Dec. 21, 1921, at Liberty Hills, Texas, to Andrew and James Ethel Kendrick Smith, she died March 27, 1999, at Sulphur. She married Willie Winifred Jones on March 21, 1943, at Hot Springs, Ark. He preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1981. She was also preceded in death by a son, Douglas W.; and two brothers, R.L. "Buddy" Smith and Leon Smith.
Mrs. Jones grew up in Arkansas. She moved to California after her marriage. She and her husband moved to Sulphur when they retired in 1971. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Imotichey, Sulphur; three sons, Terry L., Splendora, Texas; Harley D., Stockton, Calif., and Allen D., Sulphur; one brother, Donald Smith, Hot Springs; one sister, Dorothy Faught, Hot Springs; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Bearers are Jerry Bob Lancaster, Jim Marks, Allen Jones Jr., Richard Jones, Mark Mershon and, Lynn McCurtain. Honorary bearers are Brandon Jones, Shane Jones, Andy Marks and Terry Jones, Jr.
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Doris E. Snider, 97, will be 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lisa Crone officiating. Interment will follow at Tishomingo City Cemetery.
Born Jan. 26, 1902, to Alfred A. and Josephine Cook Frederick, she died March 27, 1999, at Tishomingo. She married Robert Whitfield in December 1937. He preceded her in death. She married Charles Snider in December 1974. He preceded her in death. A son, Robert Whitfield Jr., five sisters and two brothers also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Snider had attended school at Covington, La. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. She was active in United Methodist Women and had been a member of the Eastern Star for 76 years. She was also a senior citizens and Red Cross volunteer.
Survivors include one daughter, Dolly Whitfield Jemison, Tishomingo; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Bearers are Clyde Woolly, Dwain Teel, Wayne Solomon, Russell Hornbeck, Ken Davenport and Charlie Locke.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Methodist Children's Home through First United Methodist Church, Tishomingo.
Services are under the direction of Corbin Funeral Home.
Services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Tuesday for Lorene Douglas Walker, an 81-year-old Ardmore native who died March 21, 1999 in a local hospital.
Rev. Brewer will officiate services from the Ragsdale-Grant and Sons Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be in Clearview Cemetery.
Born Oct. 24, 1917, to the late Will and Sadie Gaines Douglas, Mrs. Walker was married to Lynn Walker 40 years. He preceded her in death.
She lived in Kansas City, Mo., and Pleasanton, Kan., several years before returning to Ardmore. She was a member of Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church in Kansas City, Kan.
Survivors include a sister, Pearl Douglas Nunn, Kansas City, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
DAVIS -- Services for Jessie F. Ellis will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fox Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Joughlin and Dr. David Eggenberg officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
Born Dec. 30, 1923 to William "Ace" and Iva Ringer King, she died March 27, 1999, in Ardmore.
She graduated from Davis High School in 1942 and worked as a technician with Southwestern Bell Telephone 35 years. She was a Southwestern Bell Pioneer member.
Survivors include a son, Boyd, Ardmore; four sisters, Beulah Sanger, Irene Myers and Viola Shackelford of Davis and Dottie Likens of Claremore; and one grandson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Willard King.
Former Ardmore resident Fannie Revels died March 27, 1999, in a Dallas hospital.
Friends and family are invited to pay respects between the hours of 3 and 5 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church. Interment will be Wednesday in Tyler, Texas.
Ragsdale-Grant and Sons Mortuary is directing services.
Services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Oklahoma City for Ardmore native George C. Day, 64, at the Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel. Interment followed in Kolb Cemetery.
Day was born Feb. 4, 1935, in Ardmore. He died March 26, 1999.
Day served 25 years as an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper and 14 years with the Department of Weights and Measures. He and his wife, the former Susan Elaine Still, lived in Midwest City.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Cynthia Lynn Thompson, Little Rock, Ark., Jennifer E. Day, Midwest City and George J. Day, Oklahoma City; three sisters, Lorene Jennings, Ardmore, Nona Buck, Grand Prairie, Texas, Ruby Smith of Moore; one brother, Thad Day Jr., Ardmore and four grandchildren.
His parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
