DALLAS -- Memorial services for former Ardmore resident Phyllis June Cooper will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dan Patman will officiate.
Born Jan. 1, 1940, in Horntown to Robert F. and Ruby James Bolinger, she died April 17, 1999, in a Dallas hospital after a sudden illness.
Phyllis attended high school in Ada and married John C. Ross on Aug. 19, 1957, in Ada. She worked for several years at Halverson's Shoe Store in Ada before moving to Ardmore in 1961.
On June 16, 1970, she married William James Cooper in McClure Chapel at the First United Methodist Church in Ardmore. Together, they owned and operated The Shoe Gallery at Daube's Department Store for 15 years before moving to Florida in 1982. She moved to Dallas in 1995 and had worked as there as an interior designer.
Phyllis will be missed by all of her friends and family. She loved and was loved by everyone. She accentuated the positive and focused on helping anyone who sought her confidence. Her inspirational smile and sparkling brown eyes always communicated love. To her, everyone was a friend.
She is survived by two daughters, Kelly J. Vernon, Garland, Texas, and Korri "Kookie" M. Meredith, Ardmore; a son, Cary M. Ross, Ardmore; two stepdaughters, Sheri Judd, Edmond, and Suzanne Hamada, Cantonment, Fla.; two stepsons, William J. Cooper Jr., Littleton, N.C., and Roderick A. Cooper, Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Joyce Davenport, Ruste Jacobs, and Kathy Welch, Ardmore; her mother-in-law, Billye Cooper, Oregon House, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Mary Heinrichs, Oregon House, Calif.; a brother-in-law, Bert Cooper, Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren, Michael and McKenzie Vernon, Garland, Texas, Anthony and Ruben Meredith, Ardmore, Cameron and Cooper Judd, Edmond, and Samantha and Alexa Hamada, Cantonment, Florida; five nieces, Brooke Byers, Natalie Waller, Michelle D. Welch and Jamie L. Jacobs, Ardmore, and Karen Long, Coppell, Texas; five nephews, Robby S. Musgrave, Highland Village, Texas; Daren F. Davenport, Lewisville, Texas; Jon S. Waller, Thomas J. Welch, and Joshua J. Jacobs, Ardmore.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim, in 1987; and a sister, Vickie Jeannette.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 tonight at Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.
Graveside services for Effie Mae Williams, 97, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Donny Custar officiating.
Mrs. Williams died April 18, 1999. She was born Dec. 27, 1901, in Pickens County, I.T., to James Norvel and Minnie B. Kirby Mayrant.
She and Leonard J. Williams were married March 12, 1919. He preceded her in death May 11, 1968. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Wanda Gazaway and Cuma Laverne Ward; and a grandson. She was a homemaker and member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for more than 50 years.
Her survivors include a son, Elvis L., Edmond; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Family members will serve as bearers.
Services are under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
MARIETTA -- Graveside services for Everett Benton Taylor will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta.
Taylor was born May 1, 1914, to Arthur Hayden and Lillie Pearl Taylor in Trinidad, Texas, and died April 19, 1999, in a Wilson health care facility. He worked in the maintenance department for Oklahoma City and was a Mason.
He was preceded in death by brothers Vernon and Roy Taylor and sisters Pearl Gibson and Lois Henderson.
He is survived by a one daughter, Geneva Fulton, Newcastle; one brother, Robert Taylor of Pinehurst, Idaho, and a sister, Ruby Davis of Wilson.
Services will be under the direction of Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.
HEALDTON -- Funeral services for Hollie Teague, 95, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Philip Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery under the direction of Reser Funeral Home.
Mrs. Teague was born March 31, 1904, to William and Mandy Harkins Wood in Healdton, Indian Territory, and died April 19, 1999, in a local hospital following a brief illness. She married Dewey C. Teague on March 19, 1920, in Cornish. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1989. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Pauline Russell.
Teague was the oldest charter member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by five daughters, Marie Brandy, Marguerite Chance, Inez Walk, all of Healdton, Christine Knutson, Duncan and Sandra Estes, Elmore City; one son, Dewey Teague, Healdton; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Tom Worsham, Roy Barnes, John Stewart, James King, Harold Rozzell and Shafter Weaver.
SULPHUR -- Graveside services for Jimmie Carol Tucker, 49, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oaklawn Cemetery with the Rev. Leslie Thompson officiating.
Tucker was born Aug. 13, 1949, to Bluford and Lahoma Jones Tucker in Casa Grande, Ariz. and died April 16, 1999, in Memphis, Tenn.
He was married to Donna McLeod on June 2, 1978, in Las Vegas.
The career truck driver served in the army during the Vietnam War. He was reared in California and lived in Sulphur more than 10 years.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; daughter, Jennifer Tucker; son, Jimmie Tucker, Jr., brothers Earnie Tucker, Danny Tucker and Bluford Gene Tucker, all of Sulphur.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Pamela and Patty.
Services are under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
HUGO -- Services for Chad McKee Sr. will be 2 p.m. today at the Prater-Lampton-Mills and Coffey Funeral Chapel in Hugo with the Rev. Mutt Wallace officiating. Interment will follown in the Springs Chapel Cemetery.
McKee was born July 5, 1965, to Ken McKee and Floye Jean Sadler-Adams in Ardmore and died April 16, 1999, in Temple, Texas.
He was a master auto technician at Gene's Automotive. McKee was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tommy Gene Sadler.
He is survived by his wife Michelle of the home; three sons, Chris Chambers, Chad McKee and Sean McKee all of Copperas Cove, Texas; three daughters, Crystan McKee, Felicia McKee and Mary McKee all of Copperas Cove, Texas; his mother, grand mother Pearlind Sadler, Fort Towson, great-grandmother Mable Sadler of Ardmore; brother, Kenneth McKee of Kempner, Texas; three sisters, Paula Isaacs and Tina Day both of Rusk, Texas, and Wendy Colombrito of Quinlan, Texas; and one granddaughter.

Funeral services for Evelyn Christine Barry, 84, will be Wednesday, April 21, 1999, in the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Revs. Roger Wood and Paul McDowell. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Miss Barry was born March 28, 1915, in Mill Creek to Homer Edward and Beulah May Hooks Barry, Sr. and died Sunday, April 18, 1999, in a local convalescent home. She lived in Ardmore since 1953, moving from Gene Autry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Herman, Van and Edward Barry and sister, Peggy Ballard.
Miss Barry was a 1933 graduate of Berwyn High School and was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women. She taught adult Sunday school classes and was a member of the Builders Class. She enjoyed reading and music, ws the family historian and caretaker, having cared for her younger brother, sister and mother for 20 years. Evelyn had been associated with Goldner's Florist and was an Avon representative for 30 years.
She is survived by two sisters, Barbara J. Ross, Ardmore and Melva Meng, Lusk, Wyoming; brother Keith Barry and his wife, Norma, Oklahoma City; several nieces and nephews, including Barry Ross of Ardmore.
Bearers will be Greg Pittman, Eddie Pittman, Jimmy Cox, Carson Sampley, Jimmy Gaston and Bill Nelson.
RINGLING -- Services for Joe P. King, 87, will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. J.W. Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Ringling Memorial Cemetery.
King was born Oct. 23, 1911, in Riverview to Jim and Mae Hutchinson and died April 18, 1999, in the Waurika hospital. He attended Sugden Schools and lived most of his life in Ringling. He married Cora Mae Cumbie on June 5, 1937.
King was a rural mail carrier, owned and operated King Furniture in Ringling before moving to Tishomingo to operate a movie theater. He moved back to Ringling in 1981. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of the home; one daughter, Helen Morris, Enid; two sons, Jim King, Ringling and John King, Waurika; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Mike Moore, Steve Longest, Harry Goodman, Jimmy Kessler, Terry Dale Morris and Robert Stubbs. Honorary bearers will be John King, Earl Rozzell, Gilbert, Barry and Brian Morris.
Services are under the direction of Reser Funeral Home.
MADILL -- Services for Gwendolyn Etoy Owens, 87, will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Watts Memorial Chapel with R.L. Lemmons officiating. Interment will be in Woodberry-Forrest Cemetery.
Owens was born May 21, 1911, in Arkansas and died April 19, 1999, in Brookside. She married Edgar Patrick Owens on April 19, 1930, in Marshall County. He preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 1988. They were long-time residents of Kingston and members of the Holy Cross Catholic Church Altar Society. She was also preceded in death by two brothers Earl and Reuben Reese and two sisters Ellen James and Audra Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Don Owens, Pearland, Texas, Paul Owens, Kingston; one daughter, Theresa Cutter, Los Angeles; three sisters, Eva Brock and Ora Gray, both of Madill and Billie Jean Noah of Norman; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bearers are Donald and Andrew Morrison, Phillip and Keith Gray, Ronnie Oliver, and Hugh Matchen. Honorary bearers are Tony Chaney and Jimmy Ray Sartin.
OIL CITY -- Services for William Clay "Bill" Milson, 74, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 1999, in Oil City Union Church with the Revs. David Gardner and Jamie Griffin officiating. Interment will be in the Keller Cemetery.
Mr. Milson was born June 30, 1924, in Graham to Lester Lee and Minnie Lee Petty Milson and died Tuesday, April 20, 1999, in the Ardmore hospital following an extended illness. He married Betty Jean Doss on Dec. 27, 1949, in Clovis, N.M..
Mr. Milson had been a tool pusher for Jones Drilling Company. He was a 50-year member of the Healdton Masonic Lodge and also served in the United States Marine Corps on Guam and Iwo Jima. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Milson, and a sister Myrtle Brown.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; two sons, Larry Milson, Randy Milson and his wife, Teresa, all of Oil City; four sisters, Lillian Duncan, Milo, Ruth Hale, San Gabriel, Calif., Vivian Herndon, Riviera, Ariz., and Betty Copeland, Oklahoma City; and four granddaughters, Summer Milson, Jennifer Milson, Amy Milson and Kari Sanchez.
Bearers will be Leland Heartley, Harley Norman, Jerry Miller, Jim Gunter, James Brown and M.L. "Mouse" Whitehead.
Services will be under the direction of Reser Funeral Home.
ADA -- Services for R.B. Hester Sr., 86, were scheduled for 10 a.m. today in the Criswell Chapel with Danny Stewart and Bud Rose officiating. Interment was at the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Hester was born Oct. 6, 1912, in Wilson to Wiley and Ollie Harell Hester and died April 19, 1999, in his home. He married Beulah Fayola Little on Oct. 17, 1931, at Rocky.
Hester attended Wilson schools and was a dairy farmer and carpenter. He was a member of Southwest Church of Christ and was formerly a member at the Roff Church of Christ, which he helped build.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; three sons, Nolan Hester, Ardmore, Bob Hester, Ada and Eddie Hester, Elkin, N.C.; one daughter Loretta Jones, Wichita, Kan.; one sister, Ruby Allen, Healdton; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
