Jimmie Andrew Cannon
DOUGHERTY -- Graveside rites for Jimmie Andrew Cannon, 72, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Dougherty Cemetery with the Rev. Frank Duncan officiating.
Born June 29, 1926, at Dale t¿ George A. and Mary L. Lyons Cannon, he died May 3, 1999, at Davis. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Wayne Cannon.
Cannon served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Survivors include one daughter, Diane Rankin, Springer; one son, Mike Cannon, Velma; one sister, Betty Warner, Davis; one brother, George Weldon Cannon, Gene Autry; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.

Jewell Gladys Powell
MADILL -- Services for Jewell Gladys Powell, 91, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Watts Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with J. Hub Collier officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Ardmore.
Born Jan. 5, 1908, at Milo to John Wesley and Beulah Ogden McGehee, she died May 3, 1999, at the Madill hospital. She married Obed H. Powell May 23, 1926, at Ardmore. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Mrs. Powell had been a school teacher at Healdton, Mountain Home, Mont., Washington and Springer. She moved to Marshall County in 1969, after retiring. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Marshall County Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Powell was also a member of the Texoma Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Bailey, Los Alamos, N.M., three grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
Bearers are Barry Bailey, Marc Bailey, Randy Bailey, Jake Bailey, Matt Bailey, O.D. Henin, Chan Ray and Doyle Mink, Honorary bearers are George Blaine, Jim Cantrell, James Rollins and Chuck Venters.

William L. 'Sonny' Haley
LAFAYETTE, La. -- Funeral services for William L. "Sonny" Haley, 72, were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the East Bayou Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Lawson and Scott Hooper officiating. Interment will be in Progress Cemetery.
The son of the late Elbert and Lorraine Bozeman Haley, he was born Feb. 6, 1927, in Belmont, La., and died May 4, 1999, in the Ardmore hospital, following a lengthy illness.
He married the former Mary Barrett on Sept. 4, 1955, in Seminole, Texas. He was a retired tool pusher, having worked for the Penrod Drilling Company 34 years.
Haley is survived by his wife, of the home; a daughter, Mellody Holden, Covington, La.; a sister, Ann Odom, Homer, La.; a brother, F.L. "Bud" Dickens, Tyler, Texas; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Meadows, Warren Funeral Home in Many, La.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.

Clyde Pickens Johnson Jr.
Services for Clyde Pickens Johnson Jr. will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy C. Johnson officiating.
Born Jan. 29, 1950, at Ardmore to Jereldine Pickens and Clyde Johnson Sr., he died April 30, 1999.
He graduated from Douglas High School. Johnson was a construction worker and a part-time carpenter. He was baptized at Mount Zion Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Wynaphel Douglas, Lawton, and Katrina Johnson, Ardmore; one son, Gerald Pickens, Dallas; 10 sisters and two brothers, John T. McCoy, Earlene Jackson, Joanne Pickens, Sherry Pickens, Velma Pickens and Joyce McGee, all Ardmore, Eddie Moore, Wichita, Kan., Melissa Ervin, Davis, Fern Pickens, Midwest City, Myrtle Lee, Del City, Cynthia Pickens, Northfork, Va., and Linda Pickens, Oklahoma City; and four grandchildren.
Bearers are Walter Davis, Floyd McGee, Tommy Lee Thompson, David Moore and John Traylor.
Services are under the direction of Ragsdale-Grant Mortuary.

Lillie Garrett
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Lillie Garrett, 97, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Robert Yandell and Janice Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Condon Grove Cemetery, Milburn.
Born Aug. 30, 1901, at Davis, Indian Territory, to George Henderson and Netter Eddy Anderson, she died May 4, 1999, at Tishomingo. She married Clarence Garrett Oct. 14, 1917, at Davis. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude Smith and Katie Cargill; and two sons, Howard and Haskell Garrett.
Mrs. Garrett attended school at Davis. A housewife, she attended the Assembly of God Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the women's missionary group.
Survivors include one son, Cloyd Ray Garrett, Brawley, Calif.; four daughters, Dessie Houser, Odetta Romine, and Lavada Walters, all Tishomingo, and Cloys Hickman, Granberry, Texas; two sisters, Ethel Perkins and Eva Heath, both Tishomingo; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Corbin Funeral Home.

Ruth J. Goldsmith
EASTMAN -- Services for Ruth J. Goldsmith, 90, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Eastman Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Logan officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.
Born April 20, 1909, at Erick to William Thomas and Hattie Jane Galloway Daily, she died May 5, 1999, at Eastman. She married Robert H. "Bob" Goldsmith June 16, 1928, at Mount Calm, Texas. He preceded her in death Aug. 26, 1983. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Perry, Walter and Paul Daily; and seven sisters, Willie Bell Lebkowsky, Lillie Bell Daily, Jewel Wilkerson, Lola Kellogg, Delma Williams, Cordie McHargue and Stella Webb.
Mrs. Goldsmith lived most of her life in Love County. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastman Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.
Survivors include three sons, Taylor Goldsmith, Eastman, Robert Goldsmith, Waco, Texas, and Bill Goldsmith, Kingston; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers are grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Honorary bearers are Eastman Baptist Church Women's Sunday School Class, J.C. Montgomery, Bub Williams, Ray French and Royce Willis.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Kennedy Funeral Home.

Shirley Ruth Claxton
RINGLING -- Graveside funeral services for Shirley Ruth Claxton, 76, Healdton, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Roy Hannah will officiate.
Mrs. Claxton died May 5, 1999, in an Oklahoma City hospital after an extended illness.
The daughter of Henry and Betty Goins Harper, she was born April 5, 1923, in Orr. Reared in Loco, Ringling and Zaneis, she was a graduate of Zaneis High School and lived north of Zaneis the remainder of her life. She married James Edward Claxton on Feb. 28, 1942, in Ringling. He preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 1980.
Mrs. Claxton attended the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Gary and Kerry Claxton, both of Healdton; a brother, Albert Harper, Ringling; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Kenny , J.J., Nubbin, Tim, Terry and Danny Claxton. Honorary bearer is Terry Tiner.
Reser Funeral Home in Ringling will direct services.

Bessie F. Wynn
CHECOTAH -- Graveside funeral services for Bessie F. Wynn, 93, Ardmore, were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Triplett Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Checotah.
Born Aug. 24, 1905, in Checotah to William David and Ada Susan Cameron Harrison, Mrs. Wynn died May 3, 1999, in Ardmore. She married Virgil Wynn and had lived in the Ardmore are 14 years, coming from Checota.
She is survived by a son, Deryl Wynn, Coarsegold, Calif.; a sister, Beuna Barker, Carlsbad, N.M.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986, and by two brothers and two sisters.

Hershell Wayne Bogle
Services for Hershell Wayne Bogle, 59, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Crinerville Cemetery.
Born Sept. 30, 1939, at Denison, Texas, to Arnold and Minnie Richardson Bogle, he died May 7, 1999, at Denison. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Bogle.
He was a member of the Church of Christ. Bogle had been an electronics technician for Schlumberger.
Survivors include two sons, Kevin Wayne Bogle, Cleveland; and Lynn Don Bogle, Arlington, Texas; his mother, Lebanon; two sisters, Carolyn Fields, Dallas, and Diane Granthan, Orr; and three granddaughters.
Bearers are Joe Fields, Danny Martin, Zachary Fields, Cory Buler, Jared Butler and Bill McCartney.

Wanda Epperson
BROMIDE -- Services for Wanda Epperson, 79, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bromide Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Hicks officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Wapanucka.
Born Jan. 25, 1920, at Bromide to Charles and Margaret Ann "Maggie" Means, she died May 8, 1999, at the Norman hospital. She married Albert C. Epperson June 12, 1937, at Tishomingo. He preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 1992. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Johnye Thompson, and an infant sister.
Mrs. Epperson attended school through the 10th grade. She lived in Johnston County most of her life, having moved to Norman a few years ago. She had been an Avon representative for many years and served on the election board, as well as assisting her husband with their trucking business.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Epperson, Norman, and Leo and Mickey Epperson, both Oklahoma City; three brothers, Calvin and William Means, both Oklahoma City, and Carl Means, Birmingham, Ala; and six grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home.

Buster J. Smith
DAVIS -- Graveside rites for Buster J. Smith, 91, will be 2 p.m. today at Green Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Finis Steelman officiating.
Born Sept. 30, 1907, at Dougherty to Ed and Jimmi Faust Smith, he died May 7, 1999, at Enid. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Wallace Smith, Ardmore; one daughter, Laveta L. Jones, Enid; two sisters, Edna Marie Rowe, Mesa, Ariz., and Eva Jane Smith, Sacramento, Calif.; one brother, C.C. Smith, Sacramento; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.

Vergie Smith
WILSON -- Services for Vergie Smith, 98, are pending with Alexander Funeral Home.
Born Dec. 4, 1902, in Arkansas, she died May 8, 1999, at Ardmore.
Survivors include four daughters, Hazel Gilstrap, Dickson, Fran Bachman, Moore, Barbara Williams, Albuquerque, N.M. and Dean Williams, Wilson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruby Speer
Graveside rites for Ruby Speer, 89, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Smith officiating.
Born July 27, 1908, at Krum, Texas, to George and Dixie Smith, she died May 7, 1999, at her residence.
She married Marvin Speer in 1954 at Wichita Falls, Texas. Mrs. Speer had lived in Ardmore since 1957, coming from Wilson.
Survivors include her husband of the home.
Services are under the direction of Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.
