MARIETTA -- Services for Mary C. Claxton, 76 will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Eastside Baptist Church with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
The daughter of the late William and Floy Brewer Roche, she was born Jan. 8, 1923, in Ringling and died May 19, 1999, in a local hospital following an extended illness.
Reared in the Ringling area, she attended Cornish and Center Point Schools. She moved to Marietta where she raised her family and worked for many years as a waitress. She was a charter member of the Eastside Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose. She moved to Ardmore in 1989 and lived at Ardmore Village. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ardmore. She enjoyed dancing and lived life to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dixie.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth, Chickasha; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jim Wood, Ardmore; one granddaughter, Lonetta Short, Gene Autry; two grandsons, Shannon Claxton and Scott Wood, Ardmore and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and the funeral home from 7 to 8 tonight.
Services are under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Isabella 'Mov' Emerson, 88, were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Corbin Memorial Chapel with Charles Cook officiating. Interment was at Condon Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Emerson was born June 16, 1910, in Baird, Texas, to B.E. and Oma Higgins and died May 18, 1999, in Edmond. She married Fermon Homer Emerson March 16, 1930. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Emerson, Edmond; and three grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Corbin Funeral Home.
DAVIS -- Services for Terry Lee Tippit, 39 will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Chapman officiating. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
Mrs. Tippit was born Aug. 25, 1959, in Atascosa County, Texas, to James Sidney and Martha Lee Moore Jones and died May 19, 1999.
She married Odis J. Tippit Oct. 4, 1989, in Ardmore. She was preceded in death by her mother.
She is survived by her husband, of the home; her father; one daughter Jamie Gutierrez, Hennepin; one sister, Tammy Reed, Arkansas; and two grandchildren.
Bearers will be Jack Windham, Gayle Windham, Mike Lee and Jason Digby.
Services are under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
FILLMORE -- Services for Steven "Smiley" John, 58, Norman, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Sandy Creek Church with the Rev. Don Tims and the Rev. Jerry Imotichey officiating. Interment, with military honors by the Tishomingo Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4869, will follow at Sandy Creek Cemetery.
Born April 9, 1941 at Fillmore to Edward and Phobe Keel John, he died May 19, 1999 at Norman. He was preceded in death by one sister, Maudine Talllchief, and one brother, Alvin John.
He graduated from Milburn High School and later served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. John had also been self-employed for many years.
Survivors include two brothers, John Puller and Luther John, both Tishomingo; and two sisters, Emily Howard, Ada, and Hanna Carillo, Paramount, Calif.
Bearers are Paul Imotichey, Dale Callen, Larry Callen, Jerry Keel, Ronnie James and Jackie Wilson. Honorary bearer is the Rev. Jerry Imotichey.
Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home.
WYNNEWOOD -- Services for Sarah Madlyn Walner, 86, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Oaklawn Cemetery with the Rev. Monty Baggett officiating.
Born Jan. 7, 1913 at Wynnewood to Passie Wylie and Leona Briggs Walker, she died May 20, 1999 at a Plano, Texas health care facility. She married Paul Leon Walner July 3, 1936 at Kingston. He preceded her in death Feb. 3, 1998.
Raised at Wynnewood, Mrs. Walner graduated from Wynnewood High School and later Ardmore Business College. She and her husband owned and operated the Mid Continent Stage and Drapery Company until their retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Ardmore and a Girl Scout leader for 17 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Sari Lewis, Plano; two sons, Richard and Eddie Walner, both Dallas; five grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Monday at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
GAINESVILLE, Texas -- Services for Samuel Worley Burkhart, 74, will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Ken Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Born Dec. 7, 1924 at Gainesville to Howard and Ruth Porter Burkhart, he died May 21, 1999 at a Denison, Texas hospital. He was preceded in death by a brother, Afton Elwood Burkhart.
He married Viva Jo Hammer on Nov. 12, 1948 at Temple, Texas. Burkhart was a retired Dallas police officer and a retired cattle rancher. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one son, Sam Burkhart, Thackerville; two daughters, Lana Mills, Dallas, and Margaret McPberson, Gainesville; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Bearers are Mike Burkhart, Greg Burkhart, Steve Burkhart, Tommy Burkhart, Jeff Burkhart and Patrick Rosenberg.
Memorials may be made to the Dallas Police Association, 2108 Jackson St., Dallas, TX 75201.

Graveside rites for Mamie Parker will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Smith officiating.
Mrs. Parker, 87, died May 21, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was born March 3, 1912, at Selma, Tenn., to Jonas and Martha L. Cossey Rich.
The longtime Ardmore resident married Roy J. Parker July 10, 1931. He preceded her in death in 1973.
She is survived by four daughters, Pearlie Barnett, Virginia Pritchard, Mary Davis and Carol Jaggers; and a brother, Ernest Rich, all of Ardmore; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Craddock Funeral Home will direct services.
RUBOTTOM -- Services for Clayton Hallum, 73, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rubottom Baptist Church with the Revs. Mike Williams and Terry Tolbert officiating. Interment will be Rubottom Cemetery.
Hallum died May 23, 1999, at Rubottom. He was born March 29, 1926, at Jimtown, to Artis Jefferson and Ida Perkins Hallum.
A farmer and rancher, he had lived in Love County all his life and was married to Mary Lou Lowe Jan. 12, 1957, at Rubottom. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. As a member of Rubottom Baptist Church, he served as deacon and adult men's Sunday school teacher more than 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Ronald and Greg, Rubottom; a daughter, Brenda Robertson, Falconhead a brother, Rayford, Enville; two sisters, Jessie Black, Burneyville, and Linda Schwarz, Broken Arrow; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, David.
Bearers will be Lawrence and Dewayne Black, Clancy and Lee Hallum, Owen and Leland Lowe. Honorary bearers are fellow church deacons and class members.
Memorials may be made to Rubottom Baptist Church building fund.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kennedy Funeral Home.
MADILL -- Services for Melvin Lee Collins, 62, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Arnold Lay and Bob Marple officiating. Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery under the direction of Watts Funeral Home.
Collins died May 22, 1999, in the local hospital. He was born Jan. 11, 1937, at Bromide.
Reared at Bromide, he married JoAnn Chaney there Aug. 19, 1961, and moved to Madill in 1970. He was employed many years as a sewing machine mechanic for Madill Manufacturing Co. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Timothy, San Diego, Calif.; two daughters, Sarah Hewitt, Oklahoma City, and Jana Gordon, Mannsville; a brother, Clinton, Choctaw; sister, Sarah Anderson, Ada; and two grandchildren.
Bearers will be Larry Wright, Al Hoppers, Donald Morgan, Doug Benson, Larry Eddy and Harry Hawkins. Honorary bearers are Guy Pentico, John Carroll, Don Huddleston, Al Burchfield, Calvin Harkins and Glenny Matney.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
HEALDTON -- Services for Iva Mary Bryant will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Reser Funeral Home with the Rev. W.C. Hamilton officiating. Interment will be at Mount Olive Cemetery.
Mrs. Bryant died May 23, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was born June 10, 1903, in Healdton.
She was employed as a cook at several cafes in Healdton and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. She and George Bryant were married in September 1922. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by five sisters, Geneva Duer, Winter Park, Fla., Maxine Kite, Fort Wayne, Ind., Bobbie Murrell, Midwest City, Kathleen Pierce and Hazel Schofield, Healdton.
Bearers will be Johnny Farrell, Mike and Buddy Schofield, Robert, Dennie and Kenneth Griffin.
WILSON -- Services for Jeffery Dale Shaw, who was born and died Sunday in an Oklahoma City hospital, are pending from Alexander Funeral Home.
He is the son of Jamie Dale Shaw and Geoff Moore, Wilson.
Rudolph 'Giggi' Simpson
Simpson died May 24, 1999, in Ardmore. He was born Sept. 28, 1933, at Oklahoma City, to Benny and Amanda McDonald Simpson.
A lifetime resident of this area, he was a veteran of the Korean War and worked as a laborer and truck driver.
Survivors include six daughters, Angela, Jessica, Beverly, Flora Mae, Lisa ³BoBo,² and Mary Evelyn; four sons, Roger, Thurman, Randy and Robert; a sister, Wanda Justice, Yukon; and nine grandchildren.
SULPHUR -- Services for Marcelene L. Thompson, 69, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Brad Ransom officiating. Interment will be at Antioch Cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson died May 23, 1999, in Sulphur. She was born Jan. 29, 1930, in Non, to Robert and Irene Haney Chisum.
Reared in California, she married Roy C. Thompson Dec. 29, 1946, at Turlock, Calif., and returned to Oklahoma in 1947. She lived in Oklahoma City 23 years, moved to San Antonio and to Sulphur in 1984. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and Christian Womens Club.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; three daughters, Sheila Carter, Oklahoma City, Lynette Parker, Bullard, Texas, and Denise Gross, San Antonio; two sons, Robert and Steven, Oklahoma City; two sisters, Glenda Coats, Sacramento, Calif., and Wilma McCarthy, Kingsbard, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Wayland Todd, Kevin Day, Jerry Payne, Wayne McClure, Ralph Dodson and J.C. Chadwick.
Memorials may be made to Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College.
