No services are scheduled for Maggie Stewart, 88, who died July 10, 1999, at the local hospital following an extended illness.
Ms. Stewart was born Aug. 11, 1910, near Pampa, Texas, to George Parvis and Annie Lou Kuykendall Bozeman.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Geraldine Southerland. She is survived by one daughter, Rheta Lee Doye, Ardmore, six grand children and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Community Chorale.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
MILBURN -- Graveside services for Leo A. DeBock, 86, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Condon Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Caldwell officiating.
DeBock was born March 15, 1913, in Quinlan to Henry and Nellie Clifton DeBock and died July 13, 1999, in the Ardmore hospital. He lived most of his life in Woodward County and recently returned to the Johnson County area. He served as a fishing guide on Lake Texoma.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Toni Loveday; an infant son and seven brothers and sisters.
He is survived by four daughters, Leota McCarver, Kingston, Patty Shelton, Ardmore, Marsha Peery, Marietta, and Trudy Miller, Lone Grove; two sons Lynn DeBock, Mead and Joe DeBock, Quinlan; one sister, Sylvia Gose, Arizona; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Ricky Loveday, Tom and John Shelton, Rod, Don and Marvin Peery, Michael Miller and Justin Boone.
Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home.
RINGLING -- Services for Margie Estelle Boyd, 70, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Community Fellowship Outreach Center-Assembly of God with the Revs. Jack Barron and Randy Southerland officiating. Interment will be in Dixie Cemetery.
Boyd was born March 10, 1929, in Ragtown to Jesse James and Lillie Florence Shipman Skeen and died July 11, 1999, at her home. She was raised in Jefferson and Stephens counties and married Harry Britton Boyd in 1983.
She was preceded in death by one grandson Larry Todd Barber; three sisters Nettie Sessums, Lucile Dover and Flora Mae Jackson; three brothers Henry, Edward and Jamie Skeen.
She is survived by her husband of the home; one daughter Joanie M. Jackson, Loco; two sons Doyle D. Barber, Loco, and Larry Barber, Jr., Pruitt City; three sisters, Rosie Griffith and Lavada Dover, Loco and Rena Sullivan, Healdton; two brothers, Bill Skeen, Duncan and J.D. Skeen, Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Darrin Griffith, Daniel Skeen, Jason Weaver, Dustin Anderson, Jesse Weaver, Michael Griffith and Elmer Ray Skeen.
Services under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
Services for James Chappell Geurin Jr. will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Harvey-Douglas Chapel with the Rev. Monty Bagget officiating. Interrnent will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.
Born Nov. 20, 1923, at Ardmore, he died July 13, 1999, at his home in Flower Mound, Texas.
Geurin married Elaine Gerlach on April 19, 1962, at Ardmore. He was an Ardmore resident most of his life, having moved to Flower Mound five years ago. He served in the U.S. Army as a surgical technician and was honorably discharged in 1942. He retired from Total Refinery in 1979 and was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; a daughter, Susan Cox, Irving, Texas; and one granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to a charitable hospice of choice.
Services for Joe Leon Stout, 61, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Branscum officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Oakland.
Stout was born Aug. 2, 1937, at Pine Bluff, Ark., to Homer and Mary Stout. He died July 13, 1999, at an Oklahoma City hospital.
Stout married Noreta Lou Mathewson at Oakland on Jan. 27, 1956. She preceded him in death on March 12, 1977. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his adopted parents, Harrison and Laur Stout; three brothers, Homer, Perk and Arlie Stout and one sister, Francis Phillips.
Stout lived in Ardmore most of his life and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Arnold Stout, Wilson, and Jerry Wayne Stout, Ardmore; three brothers, Don, Billy and Thomas Stout, California; two sisters, Mrs. Jack Ballenger, Sulphur, and Marinell Owens of Illinois; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Richard, Joe and John Vaughn, A.B. Roberts, Keith Smith and Larry Brunk. Honorary bearers will be Jerral Allen, Don Stevens, George Morriss, Harold Walters, Charles Massey, Arnold Muncrief and Merle Sherman.
Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
MADILL -- Services for Oscar 'Tebee' Watson Jr., 58, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Watts Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Bobby L. Davis and Joseph L. Adair II officiating. Interment will follow in Woodberry Forest Cemetery.
Watson was born Feb. 8, 1941, at Madill. and died July 12, 1999, in the Ardmore hospital.
Watson was raised in Madill and married Ester Lehoma Cooper at Ardmore. He was a truck driver most of his adult life and served with the U.S. Army and was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include two sons, Lonnie Qualls, Madill, and Orlandor Watson, San Francisco; two daughters, Brenda and Jennifer Watson, Oklahoma City; his father, Oscar Sr., Madill; three brothers, Trenton and Donnie, Madill, and A.J. Watson, Altus; five sisters, Genevieve Williams, Alvaree Adair, Patricia Fields and Estina Seals, all of Madill, and Helen Gordon, Ardmore.
Nephews will serve as bearers.
SULPHUR -- Funeral services for Robert Joseph Lacy, 61, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Revs. James Swain and Eddie Malphrus officiating. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
Born April 11, 1938, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Judson and Mattie Bell Simms Lacy, he died July 14, 1999, in Oklahoma City.
Lacy came to Sulphur as a young child and graduated from school here in 1956. He owned and operated the Dairy Queen in Sulphur and Ardmore and had worked for Halliburton. He married Jackie Myers on March 24, 1959, at Sulphur and was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Robert Jr., Oklahoma City, and Matthew, Laguna Niguel, Calif.; two brothers, Billy and Jimmy Rankin; a sister, Celia Britt; and two grandchildren.
Memorial services for Mae Helen Jones, 76, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Northeast Church of Christ with Bob Smee officiating.
Born June 4, 1923, to Andrew and Lettie Taylor Johnson, she died July 15, 1999, at the local hospital.
Mrs. Jones was a lifetime resident of Ardmore. She was a member of the East Main Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Tom C. Jones Sr., of the home; two sons, Charles Johnson, Plano, Texas, and Tom Jones Jr., Ardmore; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Kirk-Dawson-Dillard Funeral Home.
Services are pending for longtime Ardmore resident Thornton Kell. He died July 15, 1999, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Services for Robert David Vaden, 64, are pending with Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie, of the home; two daughters, Janice Trudell, Ardmore, and Vikki Pruitt, Dallas; two sisters, Mary Louise Bundy, Seminole, and Carolyn Riggs, Ada; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
MARIETTA -- Services for Bennie Thomas Stinson, 87, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Eastside Baptist Church with the Rev. David Colaw officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
Born May 11, 1912, at Marietta to James and Nancy Hart Stinson, he died July 15, 1999 at a local health care facility. He married Viola Mae Riley April 17, 1931, at Marietta. She preceded him in death Jan. 9, 1980. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Nancy Stinson, 1964, and Verna Stinson, 1977; five brothers and four sisters.
Stinson lived in Love County all of his life. He was a retired farmer and a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Survivors include five sons, Jerry Stinson and Kenneth Stinson, Marietta, James Stinson, Beeville, Texas, Benny Stinson, Round Rock, Texas, and Bill Stinson, Copperas Cove, Texas; two daughters, Dorothy Stinson, Marietta, and Betty Smith, Crosby, Texas; 27 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers are grandsons.
Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. today at Kennedy Funeral Home.
Services for Audrey Lois Wood are pending with Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.
Born March 19, 1927, at Cilo, Ala., to Willie W. and Edna Lavonia Grice, she died July 17, 1999, at an Oklahoma City hospital.
Survivors include sons, Larry Wood, Mustang, Donald and George Wood, Ardmore, Roger Wood, Lone Grove, and Victor Wood, Norman; daughters, Shirley Carroll, Sharon Cranmore, Debra Ellisop and Evelyn Wood, all Ardmore, and Amelia Lois Wood and Linda Juiell Wood, Oklahoma; one sister, Thelma Louise Foxhall, Alabama; 22 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
DAVIS -- Services for Sarah Francis Sitton, 83, were Saturday at Cowley-Krien Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Williard McCartney Jr. officiating. Interment followed at Green Hill Cemetery.
Born Jan. 20, 1916, at Denton, Texas, to John Mark and Minnie M. Whitfield Gurley, she died July 15, 1999, at a local health care facility. She married Roger Sitton in 1937 at Marietta. He preceded her in death in 1972.
Mrs. Sitton lived for many years at Durant, before moving to Davis five years ago. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Durant and a current member of First Baptist Church, Davis. For many years she taught vacation Bible School and Sunday School. She had been a member of the Durant Creative Art Guild. She was also an active member of the Southeastern State University Drama Club where she had become an accomplished amateur actress and artist.
Survivors include one daughter, Marialice Payne, Davis; one granddaughter, Jennifer Anne Barlow Paschen, Davis; one grandson, James Michael Barlow, Denver; and three great-grandchildren, Christopher James Smith, Summer Nicole Smith and Michael Thomas Smith, all Davis.
Bearers were Mike Barlow, Chris Smith, Cruz Carrillo, Robert Payne Jr., Bill Payne and Jerry Pullen.
SULPHUR -- No services are planned for Vester Winford Doss Phillips, 63.
Born Sept. 30, 1935, at Derricks, Ark., to Thomas E. and Anna M. Johnston Phillips, he died July 15, 1999, at Sulphur. He married Ruby Lee Brimley. She preceded him in death in 1967.
A retired truck driver, Phillips was a Baptist. He served in the United States Army at Fort Knox and Iceland during the Korean Conflict. He had lived in Arkansas, Oklahoma City and Athens, Ohio, before moving to Sulphur in 1996.
Survivors include his mother, Norman; one son, Roger Martin Phillips, Salem, Ore.; and two sisters, Charline Baxter, Norman, and Shirley Bosscawen, Noble.
