REXROAT - Services for Mae Elizabeth Strawn, 91, will be at 2 p.m. today at Rexroat Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Tolbert and Monty Dean officiating. Interment will be at Ringling Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
Mrs. Strawn died Aug. 1, 1999, in Wilson. She was born Nov. 23, 1907, at Farris, to Mack and Bertha Cooper Seabourn.
Reared in Savanna, she married Fred Ryan Strawn July 30, 1928, at Ringling, and lived at Atlee until 1940 when they moved to the Rexroat-Dillard Area. She moved to Wilson four years ago. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, May 21, 1999; two brothers, Frank and Elzie; a sister, Ollie Hall; and a great-grandchild.
Survivors include a son, Junior ³Willis,² Oklahoma City; three daughters, Betty Monroe, Ardmore, Della Tolbert and Linda Hunziker, Wilson; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be grandchildren, Dennis, Terry and Josh Tolbert, Brian and Johnnie Hunziker and Michelle and Jamie Monroe.
Funeral services for Myrtle I. Keeling, 96, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 1999, in Harvey-Douglas Chapel with Dr. Wade Paschal officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Keeling was born Feb. 4, 1903, at Talihina, Indian Territory, to James and Florence Wilson Isham. She died Aug. 3, 1999, in Ardmore.
Mrs. Keeling had been an Ardmore resident for the past 11 years. She was formerly a Wilson resident. Myrtle was a homemaker and a seamstress. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and active in church functions. She and Henry W. Keeling were married May 13, 1919, at Durant. He preceded her in death March 2, 1960. She was also preceded by a daughter, Bernice Gilbert; three brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by three daughters, Jean Palmer of Grand Prairie, Texas, Millie Stallcup of Ardmore, and Shirley McClendon, and her husband, Bob, of Lone Grove; two sisters, Martha MacDonald of San Diego, Calif., and Lorene McCabe of Anaheim, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as bearers.
SULPHUR - Services for Evelyn Bassett Hutchinson, 89, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Clagg Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Vernon Lawrence officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Hutchinson was born Oct. 6, 1909, at Bartlesville, to E. Edwin and Minnie B. Raigain Bassett. She died Aug. 3, 1999, in Sulphur.
Reared in the Tulsa area, she married E.A. Hutchinson May 28, 1963, at Arlington, Va., and had lived in Sulphur since 1994, moving here from Oklahoma City. She retired from Sunray DX and Subsideries Oil Co. after 43 years as an executive secretary. She was a member of Sulphur United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dana Bassett.
She is survived by her husband, of the home.
RINGLING - Funeral services for Helen Mae Lyle, 72, Loco, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 1999, at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ellen Abshire officiating. Interment will be at Ringling Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lyle was born Feb. 2, 1927, at Grady, Okla., to Samuel Preston and Allie Moore Martin. She died Aug. 3, 1999, in Oklahoma City.
Raised in the Wilson area, she attended school at Zaneis, moved to California in 1943, and lived there until moving back to Ringling in 1948. She married Virgil R.B. Lyle June 5, 1949, at Gainesville, Texas, and they made their home in Pinto, Okla., where she lived until her death. Helen and Virgil just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She was a homemaker.
Helen loved her family with an unconditional love, like the love Jesus has for us. She was always there for us in times of need. She will be greatly missed by all of us. The love she shared with us will never leave our hearts. Her life was filled with family and friends who loved and admired her strength to get through any situation that she encountered. Proverbs 31:10-31 talks about a virtuous woman. We feel it describes her completely.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Judy Gayanich, Goldsby, and Tony and Kathy Gayanich, Ardmore; a daughter, Sharon Lyle, Pinto; two sisters, Ruth Fox, Downey, Calif., and Mary Kay Way, Fairfield, Calif.; two brothers, Donald Martin, Burkeville, Texas, and Melvin Martin Fox; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Preston Martin, in 1957; her mother, Allie Moore Martin, in 1977; a sister, Irene Martin; four brothers, Doris, Herbert, Eugene and Harley Martin; and a son, Johnny Lyle, Feb. 12, 1998.
Bearers will be Jim, Sam, Mark, Mike and Sammy Hoggard and Eddy Allen Ruth. Honorary bearers are Toss McMillan, Paul Musick, Joey Gayanich, David Wayne Gayanich, Sammy Lynn Briscoe and Rodney Lyle.
Graveside rites for Margaret Louise Carter, 70, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Dr. Walt Spradling officiating.
Mrs. Carter was born Feb. 15, 1929, at Ringling, to William Charles and Arilla Brownlee Edwards. She died Aug. 4, 1999, in the local hospital.
She had been a resident of Ardmore all her life and was employed by the City of Ardmore as a jailer before she retired. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include a son, Jim Lucas of Smyrna, Ga.; a daughter, Donna Butler of Ardmore; two sisters, Rozella Sadler of Ardmore, and Billie Jean Gregory of Mannsville; two grandchildren, Jennifer Peoples of Ardmore, and Darby Vacar of Dallas; and a great-grandchild, Lathan Vacar, also of Dallas.
Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home will direct services.
Services for Charley C. Simpson, 78, Lebanon, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Chapel with Brian Kenney officiating.
Simpson was born April 11, 1921, at Oil Springs, to Grover and Sally Wethers Simpson. He died Aug. 4, 1999, in Lebanon.
He attended school in Love County, married Dorothy Forson May 1, 1945, in Oklahoma City, and served with the Air Force during World War II. He was a plumbing contractor and had lived in Ardmore 30 years before moving to Lebanon in 1984. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde, Joe and Orville; and a sister, Bess Choate.
He is survived by a son, Danny C., Ardmore; a grandchild; and great-grandchild.
Corbin Funeral Home will direct services.
FOX - Services for Thomas ³Hughie² Fletcher, 93, Pruitt City, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fox school auditorium with the Rev. Dwight Hawkins officiating. Interment will be at Ratliff City Cemetery under the direction of Milburn Funeral Home.
Fletcher died Aug. 5, 1999, in Ardmore. He was born May 26, 1906, at Walters, to Thomas B. and Martha Templeton Jordan Fletcher.
He married Jossie Lucas Jan. 7, 1928, at Walters, and had lived in this area all his life. He was employed by Rock Island Oil Co. from 1941 until he retired in 1971. He was preceded in death by two sons, Clifford and Don; and two great-grandsons.
Survivors include sons, Hughie Joe, Jerry and Benny, Pruitt City, Clinton, Duncan, Ralph, Comanche, and Kenneth R., Graham; a sister, Ola Herring, Duncan; a brother, Arthur ³Hoss,² Rosewood, Kan.; 23 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous stepgrandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as bearers.
SULPHUR - Graveside services for Oleta M. Kinney Ridley, 92, will be at 2 p.m. today at Oaklawn Cemetery with the Rev. James Swain officiating.
Mrs. Ridley was born Oct. 13, 1906, at Sulphur, to Levi and Mary Tinsley Kinney. She died Aug. 5, 1999, in the local hospital.
A lifetime resident of Sulphur, she attended Bloomfield Seminary in Ardmore and was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of Murray County Historical Society, garden club and was volunteer grandmother. She was preceded in death by two husbands, T. Bryan Nash and Arthur Lee Ridley; a daughter, Betty Ridley; a son, Joe D. Ridley; three sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include two sons, Eddie and Jerry, Sulphur; a daughter, Patricia Ridley Herndon, Carrollton, Texas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Cowley-Krien Funeral Home will direct services.
Graveside services for Mary Ann Curtis, 72, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Jim Young Cemetery, with Dr. James Priddy officiating.
Born Nov. 11, 1926, at Ardmore, to Jim and Connie Mansfield Young, she died Aug. 7, 1999, at Ardmore.
Mrs. Curtis worked as a bookkeeper for Tom Cooper for 18 years. She married Bill Curtis in 1952 in Gainesville, Texas. Together, they owned and operated the B & C Pest Control business. She was also a former member of the America Quarter Horse Association and American Professional Women¹s Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, on April 25, 1999; two sisters, Connie Laseman and Carolyn Harris; and a brother, James Mansfield.
Her survivors are a daughter, Lee Ann Bullard, Ardmore; and a sister, Evelyn Hurst, Ardmore.
Bearers will be Virgil and Charlie Gaither, Jimmy and Jesse Young, Tom Smith, Bill Hurst, Gary Harris and Joe Wyatt Hollenbeck. Honorary bearers are Rachel Howlett, LaVeta Chase, Kathy Wentzel, Beth Young, Rose Ann Hurst, Geanna and Carrie Gaither.
Services are under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home.
Graveside services for Keith Allen ³Dill² Harbeson, 28, will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Memorial Park, with the Rev. Don Waters officiating.
A lifelong Ardmore resident, Harbeson was born here Oct. 11, 1970, and died Aug. 8, 1999, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lloyd and Arletta Buchanan, and Doris Herring.
Survivors include his father, Othel Dill, Irving, Texas; his mother, Gretta Buchanan Allred, Ardmore; stepfather, Marcus Allred, Ardmore; stepmother, Nancy Dill, Irving; adopted parents, Dee and Janet Harbeson, Lone Grove; brothers, Brandon Harbeson, Lone Grove, and Michael Reed, Ardmore; sisters, Chastity Harbeson, Irving, Pamela Harbeson and Nicole Ward, Ardmore; grandfather, Lawrence Dill, Ardmore; and special friends, Kimberly Finley and John Blanton, Ardmore.
Services are pending for Bernetta Eugena Bonneau, 95, from Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bonneau died Aug. 8, 1999, in a local health care facility.
She is survived by two daughters, Jo Bette Cook, Abilene, Texas, and Peggy Jeanne Barbieri, Oklahoma City.
Services for Leona Jefferson, 77, are pending from Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jefferson died Aug. 8, 1999, in an Oklahoma City hospital.
Among her survivors is a daughter, Jackie Alaniz, Moore.
LONE GROVE - Services for George Edward Westbrook will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Don Clark, Leo Potts and Morgan Ashworth officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery at Marietta.
Born Feb. 24, 1912, at DeQueen, Ark., to J.S. and Mallie Brown Westbrook, he died Aug. 6, 1999, at his Lone Grove residence at the age of 87.
Married to Alma M. Heiderich on Jan. 5, 1935, at Marietta, he retired as a terminal worker from Mobil Oil Corp. in 1969. He then worked as a farmer and rancher, in addition to serving the Lord as deacon at First Baptist Church for 62 years and as a Lone Grove School board member in the 1950s. He also was an avid coon and wolf hunter.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Deanna Vonetta Magee; a grandson, Kevin Wayne Magee; two sisters; and a brother.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Elizabeth Voncille Magee, Ardmore; five brothers, Ray and Bob Westbrook, DeQueen, Cullus Westbrook, Modesto, Calif., Ted Westbrook, Plano Texas, and Author Westbrook, Oregon; grandchildren, Robbie Franklin Magee, Debbie Magee, Carrie Beth Magee Roberts and her husband, Tony Roberts, Lone Grove; and a great-granddaughter, Elisha ³Hoppy² Rashelle Roberts, Lone Grove.
Bearers will be deacons of Lone Grove First Baptist Church, Woody Potts, Calvin Foster, Frank Bural, Lester Artherholt, David Hatley, Gary Crosthwait, Derek Hallum, Joe Word, Marvin Mashburn, Bobby Townley, Darrel Williams, Henry Burton, Larry Twyford and Harold Newman. Honorary bearers are members of the Adult Men Sunday school class.
Craddock Funeral Home is in charge of services.
GRAHAM - Graveside services for A. Ruth Dunn, 78, of Healdton, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Graham Cemetery, with the Rev. Raymond Bailey officiating.
Born Nov. 20, 1920, in Wirt, to Otto and LaVern Mishlar Hill, she died Aug. 7, 1999, in a Healdton health care facility. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert E. Dyer, in 1958.
A Graham High School graduate, Ms. Dunn lived in the Fox-Clemscot-Graham area all of her life and was a member of the Graham Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Bettye Lowe, Houston; a son, Olen D. ³Dickie² Dyer, Sulphur; three brothers, Sonny Hill, Elmore City, Don Hill, Davis, and Benny Hill, Clemscot; a sister, Patty Scott, Elmore City; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Reser Funeral Home in Healdton will direct services.
