DURWOOD - Services for Leona Jefferson, 77, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Durwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Albert Simon officiating. Interment will be in Durwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Jefferson was born Nov. 10, 1921, in Madill to Columbus and Effie Johnson Tubbee and died Aug. 8, 1999, in the Madill hospital.
She married Amaziah B. Jefferson March 21, 1947, and was a member of the Durwood Baptist Church. Mrs. Jefferson had been a Moore resident the past eight years after moving from California. She was also a former resident of Ardmore. She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Agnes Taylor, and one son, Thomas Lewis.
She is survived by her husband of the home; daughters, Jackie Alaniz, Moore, Sallie Gilbert, Moore and Nina Canoe, Oklahoma City; brothers, J.C. and Donnie Tubbee of Ardmore; sisters Alice Taylor, Ardmore and Ida Taylor, Madill; nine grandchildren, Yolanda Ruiz, Sylvia Rivera, San Diego, Connie Rivera, John Gilbert Jr., Steven Gilbert, Daniell Pool, Sherry Baker, Kandice Canoe and Wanlayah Canoe, all of Oklahoma.
Thelma Lorene Langston
No services are scheduled for Thelma Lorene Langston, 87 who died Aug. 3, 1999, in a Longmont, Calif., hospital following a brief illness.
Langston was born July 25, 1912, in Keefer, Okla., to Jacob Albert and Nellie Chloe Medley Ruble. She was a graduate of Wewoka High School. She married Ralph A. Stumpp Sr. and was active in the Wewoka Baptist Church.
She worked in the Seminole County Treasurer¹s Office and later married William ŒSlim¹ Langston. They retired in Ardmore. She was Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Ardmore and was a member of OES Chapter 246 in Wewoka.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991 and by one son, Ralph A. Stumpp, Jr. in 1980 and a sister, Doris M. Ruble, in 1967.
She is survived by a son, Larry M. Stumpp, of the home; one brother, Max E. Ruble, O¹Fallon, Mo.; two grandsons; two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and close friends.
Memorials may be made to individual favorite charities.

Hazel M. Roberts
DAVIS - Services for Hazel M. Roberts, 72, were scheduled for 10:30 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. James Densman and Dr. David Eggenberg officiating. Interment followed at Green Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Roberts was born Nov. 19, 1926, to Bruce and Lenna Crutchfield Brubaker. She died Aug. 9, 1999, in Sulphur.
She married Ray Roberts on Dec. 5, 1941, at Pauls Valley. She had lived in Davis since 1962. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Sulphur and taught ceramics classes. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gilbert and Don Brubaker, and two sisters, Estella Davis and Nellie Samples.
She is survived by her husband, of the home; one son, Kent Roberts, of the home and one sister, Ruth Roberts, of Elgin.
Bearers were Miles Judkins, Bo Saunders, Royce Dale Jones and Creed Saunders. Honorary bearer was John Montgomery.
James E. Wade
DENISON, Texas - Graveside services for Ardmore resident James E. Wade, 78 will be 10 a.m. Friday at Calvary Cemetery with the Rev. Sam Garrett officiating.
Wade was born Oct. 21, 1920, in Denison, to Emmett Wade and Nora Crittenden. He died Aug. 9, 1999, at the Ardmore hospital.
Wade married Betty Hall in 1956. She preceded him in death in 1980. Also preceding him in death was his sister, Ruth Butcher.
Wade retired from Rock Island Railroad where he worked as an electrician in Kansas City and Ft. Worth. He was a member of Parkside Baptist Church.
He is survived by one sister, Mary Ross, Denison; a very close friend, Ann Meadows, Ardmore; one nephew, Bill Ross, Denison, and four nieces, Pat Craft, Sherman, Texas, Donna Garrett, Denison, Jean Ward, Houston, and Barbara Thomas, Sacramento, Calif.
Services are under the direction of Bratcher Funeral Home of Denison.
Shirley Karene Adamson
MADILL - Services for Shirley Karene Adamson, 73, will be 2 p.m. today at the Watts Memorial Chapel with Roy Oates officiating. Interment will be in the Woodberry Forest Cemetery.
Mrs. Adamson was born March 21, 1926, in Madill and died Aug. 11, 1999, in the Madill hospital following a sudden illness.
She was a member of the Madill First Baptist Church. She married Myrl Travis Adamson on Sept. 12, 1943. He preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 1997. Also preceding her in death was one brother, Clovis Gadberry.
She is survived by one son, Robert Adamson, Stillwater; two daughters, Carol Voiles, Amarillo, Texas, and Marilyn Mackey, Madill and four grandchildren.
Bearers will be J.L. Woody, Dale Waymire, Jack Smith, Doyle Blakely, Dick Phillips and Carol Stafford.
Services are under the direction of Watts Funeral Home.
Georg Karl Prufer
Graveside rites for Georg Karl Prufer, 69, Norman, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Hinckley officiating.
Prufer was born March 14, 1926, at Braunschweig, Germany, to Fritz and Selma Stolle Prufer. He died April 9, 2000, in the Norman hospital.
Mr. Prufer worked as a hotelier for many years. He lived in Norman the past 11 years, moving there from Portland, Ore. He was of the Lutheran faith. He and Helga Fiebach were married June 5, 1959, at Edmondton, Alberta, Canada. She preceded him in death April 23, 1992. He was also preceded by his parents.
Survivors include a son, Martin of Norman; a daughter, Christina Lindholm, and husband, James, of Vancouver, Wash.; a brother, Fritz Prufer, and wife, Elfriede, of St. Albert, Alberta, Canada; and three grandchildren, Jeremy, Justin and Marissa.

H. Leon Veeder
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. -- The passing of H. Leon Veeder, beloved husband, dad, granddad, D-Daddy and great-granddad, from this world to his father's house, will be celebrated with a memorial service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines. Dr. Michael D. Seitz and the Rev. Samuel H. Pope will officiate. Burial will be at Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines Memorial Garden.
Mr. Veeder, 73, was born at Cherry Vale, Kan., to Emmett C. and Maude Hicks Veeder on Sept. 10, 1926. He died April 9, 2000, in the Hot Springs hospital.
Mr. Veeder, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, was a petroleum engineer, a member of the Association of Petroleum Geologists, and Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Jeanette Adams.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Eula Mae Veeder; a daughter, Linda Mae Hundley and her husband, Billy, of Canyon Lake, Texas; a daughter, Debbie A. Kaighn and her husband, Charles, of Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter, Sandy and her husband, Gary, of Broken Arrow; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines, 275 Asturias Dr., Hot Springs Village, AR 71909; or Teen Challenge of Arkansas Inc., 155 Walnut Valley Road, Hot Springs, AR 71909.

Oscar Eugine Minyard
ENVILLE -- Services for Oscar Eugine Minyard, 66, Gracemont, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at the Enville Community Church with Hubert Sponsler officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta.
Mr. Minyard was born March 16, 1934, in Love County, to Oscar Henry and Velma Muncrief Minyard. He died April 9, 2000, at Gracemont.
After working many years in the oil fields, he recently retired from Helmerich and Payne Drilling Company.
Survivors include his companion, Josephine Standing, of the home; five sons and daughters-in-law, Dickie and Patti Minyard and Donnie Minyard and Lee Totzke, Derrie and Lora Minyard, and Dannie Minyard, all of Marietta, and Davie and Anna Minyard of Yukon; a daughter, Raulita Southerland, also Marietta; five sisters; a brother; and nine grandchildren.
Bearers will be Terry Minyard, Sammie Seeley, Deborah Stepp, Nancy Rains, James Ray Minyard and Janet Braun. Honorary bearers are Gilbert Willis, S.A. Wells and James Morton.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. tonight at Watts Funeral Home in Madill.
Carl J. Temple
LONE GROVE -- Services for Carl J. Temple, 74, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lone Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Morgan Ashworth officiating.
Temple was born Aug. 5, 1925, at Cheek, to Joe E. and Vada Cook Temple. He died April 6, 2000, in the local hospital.
He served in the Army during World War II and married Lois Darlene McGaughy in 1962. He was a member of Lone Grove First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dec. 30, 1993; a brother, Charles Spears; and sister, Geneva Spears Mauldin.
Survivors include a daughter, Carla Temple, and two sons, Roger and Gary, all of Ardmore; a brother, Gordon, Duncan; and a grandson.
Bearers will be Sylvester Johnson, George Chambelan, and Bob, Robert and Johnny Plott.

Ty Simmons
PRUITT -- Graveside rites for Ty Simmons, 36, Fox, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Pruitt Cemetery with Kenneth Mize officiating.
Simmons was born Oct. 16, 1963, at Oklahoma City, to Tony and Marilyn Lawrence Simmons. He died April 9, 2000, following an auto accident near Fox.
He married Mary Elizabeth Gaston Sept. 19, 1997, at Bonnersferry, Idaho, and had lived in the Ardmore area most of his life. He was preceded in death by his father in 1971.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Dean, Ardmore, and Tye, of the home; his mother, Marilyn Simmons, Ardmore; grandmother, Wanda Lawrence, Tennessee; three sisters, Cindy Lloyd, Ardmore, Saron Hudson, Oklahoma City, and Teresa Simmons, Fox; and two brothers, Anthony, Sulphur, and Thomas, Oklahoma City.

Gertrude 'Peggy' Niblett
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Gertrude "Peggy" Niblett, 84, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Corbin Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Steve Gniech officiating. Interment will be at Troy Cemetery.
Mrs. Niblett was born Jan. 10, 1916, at Rush Creek, Ark., to Charles M. and Ethel A. Jones Brantley. She died April 10, 2000, in Tishomingo.
She graduated from high school in Oklahoma City, married Leon Niblett there March 13, 1960, and had been a resident of Tishomingo since June 1990. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a daughter, Rita Glober, Stratford; a brother, Roy Brantley, Locust Grove; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Brentley.
Laura Elaine Rose Simmons

Laura was born Feb. 15, 1997, in Ardmore, to Ty Ray and Mary Gaston Simmons. She and her father died April 9, 2000, following an auto accident.
She is survived by her mother, of the home; two brothers, Dean, Ardmore, and Tye, of the home; grandparents, Marilyn Simmons, Ardmore, Rita Gaston, Idaho, and Don Gaston, Fox; great-grandmother, Laura Baker, Idaho; and great-great-grandmother, Ollie Gaston, Eufaula.
