SULPHUR -- Services for Ashlie Rolin, 20, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Malphrus and Tory McGhee officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home.
Ms. Rolin was born Nov. 10, 1979, in Norman. She died May 6, 2000, in the Ardmore hospital.
She moved to Sulphur in 1983 and graduated from high school here in 1999.
Survivors include her parents, Sam and Cheryl Rolin, Sulphur; a brother, Derek Rolin; and sister, Lacie O'Dell.
Bearers will be Jeff Kimmel, Jason Fleming, Cayce and Jeff Harber, Larry Ozment and Scott Kirby. Dan Pierce is honorary bearer.
MILL CREEK -- Services for Henry Earl Pitman, 93, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mill Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Jerry George officiating. Interment will be at Mill Creek Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
Pitman was born Dec. 26, 1906, at Fletcher, Indian Territory, to Alfred and Linnie McMillan Pitman. He died May 6, 2000, in Ardmore.
He married Bessie Conley May 15, 1944, and had lived in this area all his life, working for Johnston County several years. He was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1954; a son, Dewayne; daughter, Dorothy Pitman; two grandchildren; four sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Swain, Sulphur; a son, Dwight, Mill Creek; two brothers, Roscoe, Roff, and D.F., Mill Creek; a sister, Leona Labruzzi, Mill Creek; a grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Ebbin Smith, James Tisdell, Bill Slaughter, Steve Castleberry, Leon Sorrels and William Gibson. Honorary bearers are Raymond Howard, Arvel Pitmon, Artie Quinton and Dwain Penner.
Services for Lloyd Ray "Cookie" Smith, 63, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mary Niblack Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Wilson officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Born Dec. 12, 1936, at Dougherty, to Robert Teasley and Martha Myrtle Brown Smith, he died May 7, 2000, in the local hospital.
He graduated from Dickson High School in 1954 and owned and operated Lloyd Smith Truck Tire Company. He was a member of Mary Niblack Baptist Church. He and Pearly Welch were married July 17, 1961, in Ardmore.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Robert and his wife, Teresa, Smith, Ardmore; a daughter, Leslie and her husband, Tony Keith, Ardmore; five grandchildren Chris, Meagan and Richard Keith, John Hudson and Kyla Smith; a brother, Curtis Smith of Los Angeles; three sisters, Nadine, and her husband, Joe Mooney of Ardmore, Bernice, and her husband, Charles Whaley of Arkansas City, Kan., and Doris, and her husband, James Miller, also of Ardmore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bearers will be Larry Don Buck, Greg and Chris Keith, Rick Carrell, Jody Cornelison and Keith Smith. Honorary bearers will be Judy Tubbs, Marsha Brown, Alfred Cathey and Truman Rouse.
Services for Ruth Sharp Baker, 68, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Harvey-Douglas Chapel with the Rev. Elton Vaughn officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Baker was born May 27, 1931, at Berwyn, to Silas and Gladys Green Gunsolus. She died May 8, 2000, in a local health care facility following an extended illness.
A lifetime resident of this area, she graduated fro Berwyn High School and worked as a nurses aid for many years at Lu-Ken Care Facility. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by six husbands, Elzie Sharp, Albert Allen, Troy Sullivan, Dale McGruder, Clifford Cox and Raymond Baker; and a son, Don L. Allen.
Survivors include two sons, Eugene Sharp, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jesse G. Sharp, Ardmore; three daughters, Rita Osuna, Illinois, Leveta Reed, Shawnee, and Donna Allison, Ardmore; a brother, Lester Gunsolus, Ardmore; two sisters, Oleta Watkins and Ola Conway, of Ardmore; 32 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Mark Coffey, Terry Allison, James Cox II, Garland Hanson, Timmy and Jimmy Kelly.
SHAWNEE -- Services for Dora Opal "Sam" McPherson, 69, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Leslie Long officiating. Interment will be at Blackburn Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. McPherson was born Jan. 30, 1931, at Hydro, to Benjamin and Callie Warren. She died May 7, 2000, in Ardmore.
She was reared in Dodson, Texas, attended business school in Amarillo, Texas, and worked as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Freewill Baptist Church and had lived in Ardmore two years, moving there from Shawnee, where she had lived eight years. She was the widow of T.C. "Mac" McPherson.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Eugene Warren.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Redwine, Shawnee; a son, Doug Monkres, Carrollton, Texas; four brothers, Fred Warren, Oklahoma City, Gerald Warren, Cassville, Mo., Denver and Elbert Warren, Amarillo; a sister, Ann Warren, Clinton; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
MADILL -- Services for Marvin Wheeler, 97, will be at 2 p.m. today at Watts Memorial Chapel with Larry Holder officiating. Interment will be at Woodberry Forest Cemetery.
Wheeler was born June 18, 1902, in Marshall County, to Jefferson and Claudia Truitt Wheeler. He died May 6, 2000, in Madill.
A lifetime resident of Marshall County, he was a teacher and county superintendent for 20 years. He was a member of United Methodist Church, a charter member of Madill Lions Club and active in Boy Scouts. He and Ben Pauline Hatfield were married June 25, 1927, at Tishomingo. She preceded him in death on May 4, 1995.
Survivors include a son, Don, Fort Worth, Texas; a daughter, Julia N. Coor, South Carolina; a brother, Ernest, New Orleans, La.; eight grandchildren, two of whom he reared, Charles Wheeler, Pottsboro, and Marie Brandt, California; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Velma Henson, 94, will be at 1 p.m. today at Corbin Memorial Chapel with Bud Ross officiating. Interment will be at Connerville Cemetery under the direction of Corbin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Henson was born Aug. 8, 1906, at Brock, to William W. and Mettie E. Thompson Ingram. She died May 7, 2000, in Tishomingo.
She graduated from Connerville High School, attended Murray State College and had lived in Tishomingo since 1932. She was member of the Church of Christ and worked as a clerk for McCall's prior to retirement. She and Fred W. Cole were married here in 1924. He preceded her in death in 1934.
Survivors include a son, Frank, Dallas; a daughter, Donnie Reese, Ada; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Callie Drew Castleman, infant daughter of Brent and Gypsy Castleman, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill Cemetery with Bob Smee officiating.
The baby was born April 10, 2000, in Oklahoma City and died there May 7, 2000.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Caleb David, of the home; grandparents, Vernon and Arlene Castleman, and Fred and Barbara Schramm, all of Ardmore; and Lacy Dry, Richfield, N.C.; and great-grandmother, Ruth Wisinski, Milwaukee, Wis.
Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home will direct services.
HENNEPIN -- Services for Velma Mae Carter, 81, will be at 2 p.m. today at the United Pentecostal Church in Hennepin with the Rev. Bill Nordmeyer officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.
Ms. Carter was born March 6, 1919, at Katie, to L.A. and Velma Bruner Carter. She died May 7, 2000, in Pauls Valley.
She was a nurses aid for the Oklahoma Veterans Center.
She is survived by a sister, Oleta Yancey; and two brothers, Preach and Estle Carter, all of Hennepin.
Fox Funeral Home will direct services.
WILSON -- Graveside rites for former Wilson resident David Lee Haynes, 42, now of Oklahoma City, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2000, at Hewitt Cemetery with the Rev. Sid Bazzrea officiating.
Mr. Haynes was born Aug. 5, 1957, in Maywood, Calif., to Roy Lee and Billie Charlene Smith Haynes. He died April 28, 2000, at his residence in Oklahoma City.
As a child, David moved to Albuquerque, N.M., with his family and lived there from 1958 until 1970 when they returned to Wilson. In 1974, he moved to Oklahoma City where he worked most of the time in drywall construction.
David loved to kid around and had a heart as big as they come. His best buddy was his dog, Levi, whom he took almost everywhere he went.
Survivors include his parents, Billie C. Haynes, of Wilson, and Roy and Oleta Haynes of Graham; a sister, Linda Haynes of Tulsa; a brother, Rick Haynes of Oklahoma City; three nieces; four nephews; and a great-nephew.
Alexander Funeral Home will direct services.
SULPHUR -- Services for Otis Raymond Rogers, 83, were 10 a.m. Saturday at Cowley-Krien Funeral Home Chapel with Martin Gustin officiating. Interment follow at Glen Rest Cemetery, Big Lake, Texas.
Born Jan. 1, 1912, at Pontotoc County, to Archie King and Clara Elvia Beller Rogers, he died May 3, 2000, at Sulphur. He married Beulah Brannon in 1936 at Mexia, Texas. She preceded him in death in 1960. He was also preceded in death by a son, Benny Lee Rogers in 1960. His wife and son died in an auto accident.
He worked in oil field and construction and owned and operated Rogers Construction Company for 40 years. He also worked at the Sulphur Veterans Center for a number of years. He and Clyda Blakeman were special friends for 22 years until her death in April. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law Gene and Kathy Rogers, Sulphur; three grandchildren, Kimberly Courtney, Benny Rogers and Beth Rogers; and three great-grandchildren, Christopher Woods, Michael Woods and Hunter Rogers.
Services were under the direction of Krien Funeral Home, Davis.
Services for Terry Dean Hatter, 49, Lone Grove, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Harvey-Douglas Chapel in Ardmore with the Rev. David Gardner officiating. Interment will be at Lone Grove Cemetery.
Hatter was born Jan. 14, 1951, in Atoka, to Frank and Oma Orlean Cox Hatter. He died May 7, 2000, in an Oklahoma City hospital.
Reared in Atoka, he lived in Ardmore and in Lone Grove the past 30 years. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include a son, Ronnie, Ardmore; a daughter, LaDonna Hatter, Davis; his father, Frank; five brothers, Leon, Atoka, Melvin, Wapanucka, Emitt, Madill, Raymond, Ardmore, and Larry, Healdton; a sister, Louise Stephenson, Tishomingo; and two grandchildren.
Bearers will be Jerry Holley, Jerry Chancellor, Sammy, Steve, Danny and Lester Ford.
Graveside services for Alice Marie McCullough, 69, were at 10 a.m. today at Lone Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. McCullough was born Oct. 8, 1930, in Martin City, Mo., to Theodore and Maggie Lee Hire. She died May 8, 2000, in a local health care facility.
She married Tilton E. McCullough Feb. 4, 1947, in Winfield, Kan. She was a homemaker. Her husband preceded her in death March 12, 1987.
Survivors include a son, Ted, Lone Grove; two daughters, Linda Shingleton, Hutchinson, Kan., and Rosemary Mullin, Montgomery, Ala.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home directed services.
MADILL -- Services for Oscar Earl Smith, 73, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Watts Memorial Chapel with John King officiating. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery.
Smith was born March 5, 1927, in Arkansas, to Oron and Eva Ferguson Smith. He died May 8, 2000, in Madill.
Reared in Arkansas, he lived in California in 1950 and to Madill in 1980. He was employed by the veteran's center in Ardmore before he retired. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He and Janie Sprouse were married Jan. 3, 1971, in Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Johnathan; a daughter, Earlene Marcoux; and sister, Lorie Robush, both of California.
