Services for James L. "Jim" Williamson will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Griffin Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.
Born Aug. 4, 1918, at Tioga, Texas, to Jim Andy and Mabel Williamson, he past from this life with the Lord's celebration May 4, 2001, at the local veterans center. He married Madeenia Hughes in October 1945. She preceded him in death in March 2000. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathryn Dees.
Williamson was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 135th Army Air Corps, where he served as a military policeman until his discharge on Aug. 31, 1945. He and his wife made their home in the Springdale community of Ardmore until his wife's death. He retired from Oklahoma State Parks and Recreation at Lake Murray as a master carpenter in September 1983 after 23 years of service.
Survivors include three son, Royce Thurman and his wife, Mary, Ardmore, Jimmie Williamson and his wife, Susan, Ardmore, and Mickey Williamson and his wife, Janice, Seminole; two daughters, Norman J. Adams and her husband, Grant, Ardmore, and Susie Jones and her husband, Terry, Ardmore; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Bearers are his grandchildren, James "Skipper" Williamson, Joey Williamson, Michelle Williamson, Aaron Williamson, Robin Berry, John M. Jones, Kristal Jones and Terry Goodwin. Honorary bearers will be his many friends at the Ardmore Veterans Center.
MILBURN -- Services for John W. Hopkins, 82, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at Condon Grove Cemetery with military honors provided by V.F.W. Post 4869 and American Legion Post 164, both of Tishomingo.
Born Aug. 14, 1918, at Hunt County, Texas, to John W. and Bess Sanders Hopkins, he died May 5, 2001, at his residence. He was preceded in death by a brother, Newton S. Hopkins.
He attended Milburn schools, graduating in 1936. He later attended Southeastern State University at Durant, where he played basketball. He served in the United States Navy as a seaman first class from January 1937 to January 1941, with duty on the USS Pennsylvania. He then served in the United States Army until July 1941. Upon entering the service for World War II, due to his previous naval service, he was directed to the United States Maritime Service in 1944. He was selected for officer school and after graduating rose to the rank of lieutenant commander. He then served as chief mate on many maritime vessels during various hostile actions during World War II. After the war, he continued a career as a chief mate on many vessels in the Merchant Marine. He returned to Milburn in 1951 and began his cattle ranching career. He married Starr Morton on June 28, 1952, at Aledo, Texas. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Kevin Hopkins, Burbank, Calif.; and one sister, Ysleta Bower, Sherman, Texas.
Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home.
Services for Aubrey Edward Taylor, 86, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2001, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church where he was a member and deacon. Officiating will be Pastor Harvey Kornegay. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Taylor was born in Vanzandt County, Texas, on May 25, 1914, to Robert Earl and Eva Calhoun Taylor. He passed away May 2, 2001, in Ardmore.
He came with his parents from Vanzandt, Texas, to Ardmore in 1917. He grew up in Ardmore and graduated from Ardmore High School. He went to Chicago where he worked in the steel mills and studied commercial art.
He married Anna Jakubiak in St. Joseph, Mich., on June 20, 1937. They returned to Ardmore in 1945 and stayed until 1959 when the family moved to Norman. He was very active in the Kiwanis and other civic activities. He worked in commercial advertising from 1945 to the mid 1970s when he retired to Caney Creek. He moved back to Ardmore in 1997.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Earl and Eva Calhoun Taylor; his wife, Anna Jakubiak Taylor; son, Robert Ernest Taylor; sisters, Oleta Taylor Phillips, LaVera Taylor Smith and Mary Taylor; and brother, Oran Taylor.
He is survived by a son, Steven E. Taylor and wife, Karen, of Claksville, Tenn.; a daughter, Carol Neal of Ardmore; a sister, Faynell Taylor Hibbs of Odessa, Texas; a brother, Robert E. Taylor and wife, Thelma, of Buchanan Dam, Texas; sister-in-law, Maribell Taylor of Sheridan, Wyo.; grandchildren, Audra Carr and husband, John, of Dallas, Jeremy Potts of Denver, Kenneth Campbell of Ardmore, Christian E. Taylor and wife, Lynette, and Mark E. Taylor of Clarksville, Tenn.; and great-grandchildren, Emily and Ivy Carr and Zachary A. Taylor.
Bearers will be Kenneth Campbell, Herb Lovin, Galen Schnell, Buck Windham, Rodney Phillips and Joel Sabagan. Honorary bearers are members of the Ardmore Senior Citizens Center.
Memorials may be made to the Aubrey E. Taylor Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Seventh-day Adventist Church, 828 Locust, Ardmore, OK 73401.

Services for Helen L. Humble, 80, Clinton, will be held this evening at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Clinton with the Rev. Larry King officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore.
Helen Louise Wood Humble was born Sept. 15, 1920, in Ardmore to Charles A. and Ima Jones Wood. She passed away Thursday, May 3, 2001, in the Clinton hospital.
Helen was raised in Ardmore and graduated from Ardmore High School in 1938. She married Loren Donald Humble Aug. 4, 1940, in Edmond. They made their home in Shawnee and Chickasha before finally moving to Clinton in 1948 when Mr. Humble was transferred there with Safeway stores. They opened the Humble Food Store in Clinton in 1950 and operated it until 1962. She was employed with Boyd Jewelers from 1962 to 1965. In 1968 Mr. and Mrs. Humble became involved with Four Seasons Nursing Center where she acted as assistant administrator until 1973. Don preceded her in death, after a long illness, in 1992. She was also preceded by her parents and grandparents. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Clinton.
She is survived by her nephews, Joe Ben Ponder, James Allen and R.C. Allen, all of Ardmore, and Royce Allen, Madill; Charles F. Scott, Guthrie; and James E. Scott, Mannford.
Stanley Lee Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Services for Gene Howard, 85, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2001, in McClure Chapel at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Gorrell officiating. Interment will follow at Mannsville Cemetery in Mannsville.
Mr. Howard was born Dec. 18, 1915, at Lawton to the late Ozro Alexander and Eva Mae Hutcheson Howard. He died May 2, 2001, in the local hospital.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia Lea Davis March 31, 1998. They were married May 7, 1938, in Ardmore. He and Isabel Coleman were married Dec. 18, 1999, in Ardmore.
He was a longtime butcher here in Ardmore. He served in the US Army during World War II, was a member of the Dirty Dozen Fishing Club, VFW and American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Isabel, of the home; two sons, Mike and his wife, Jeannie, and Steve and his wife, Sedell, all of Ardmore; a brother, Jack of Lawton; sisters, Mildred Dossey of Lawton, Fleta Mae Malcom of Frederick; stepson, Bill Coleman of Ardmore; stepdaughters, Barbara St. Clair and Judy Reid, both of Ardmore; four granddaughters, Stephanie and her husband, Sam Norton, Jaren Howard and her fiance, Paul Dargen, Ginger and her husband, Brian Cothran, and Kim Howard; two stepgrandchildren, Michael and Arron Berry; and three great-grandchildren, Jake and Cole Norton and Macey Cothran.
Bearers will be Gordon Barlow, Jerrell Allen, Keith Nance, Sam Norton, Brian Cothran and Paul Dargen. Honorary bearers will be members of the Dirty Dozen Fishing Club.
Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home will direct services.
TISHOMINGO -- Graveside rites for Robert Lee Sides, 32, were at 11 a.m. today at Tishomingo Cemetery with the Rev. Rocky Pettyjohn officiating.
Sides was born Jan. 19, 1969, at Riverside, Calif. He died May 1, 2001, following an auto accident.
He had lived in this area most of his life and was working for Pooch Paradise.
Survivors include his wife, the former Kimberly Boatman; and son, R.J. Boatman-Sides, both of the home; his father and stepmother, Raymond and Cathleen Sides, Milburn; his mother, Delores Holland, Atoka; sisters, Jannifer McCann, Hugo, Cathy Nash, Tishomingo, and Angela Ray, Milburn; and brother, Terry, Hugo.
Clark Funeral Home directed services.
BOWIE, Texas -- Services for Myrle Brooks, 87, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Burgess-Fry-Owens-Brumley Funeral Home Chapel in Bowie, Texas. Dr. Larry Cox, First Free Will Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Brooks was born March 12, 1914, at Sunset, Texas. She died May 2, 2001, in Bowie.
Married to William C. Brooks, Jan. 6, 1945, at Henrietta, Texas, she was a longtime resident of Wichita Falls, Texas, before moving to Bowie 38 years ago. She was a nurse at Bowie Nursing Center before she retired and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986 and a daughter, Helen Oney.
Survivors include a son, Billy Ray Brooks, of Bowie; a sister, Virginia White, of Anaheim, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Kevin Brooks and Kim Lemons of Madill, Kenny Brooks of Ardmore; Lisa Matney of Terrall, Bob Oney of Alvord, Texas; Leonard and Donita Oney, Sunset, Texas, Gloria Oney of Bridgeport, Texas, and Shane Oney also of Sunset; and 29 great-grandchildren.
MILL CREEK -- Services for Oscar D. "Twink" Talkington, 83, Sulphur, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mill Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Jerry George officiating. Interment will be at Drake Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
Talkington was born Aug. 20, 1917, at Centrahoma to Delbert and Amanda B. Singleton Talkington. he died May 3, 2001, in Ardmore.
Raised in the Centrahoma area, he married Eula Williams Aug. 28, 1937, at Sulphur and was a retired county worker and rancher. He had lived in this area most of his life. He was preceded in death by a son, Quinton; a sister; and five brothers.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Faye Williams, Mill Creek, and Janie Bell, Lone Grove; three sons, Charles, Sulphur, Frank, Tishomingo, and Ronald, Lone Grove; three sisters, Murel Garrison, Ardmore, and Lois Davis and Ruby Cain, Moore; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
SULPHUR -- Graveside rites for Edward Eugene Llewellyn, 74, were at 10 a.m. today at Oaklawn Cemetery, veterans section, with the Rev. Bill Leveridg officiating.
Llewellyn was born Aug. 31, 1926, at Port Lewis, Wash. He died May 1, 2001, in Sulphur.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he lived in Oklahoma City and worked as a warehouse foreman at Dorn Furniture before he moved to Sulphur.
There are no known survivors.
Clagg Funeral Home directed services.
WYNNEWOOD -- Graveside services for Wilma Mae "Ruth" Amos will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood.
Mrs. Amos died May 2, 2001, in the Pauls Valley hospital.
She is survived by a son, Charles, Stratford; two sisters, Wynona Amos, Wynnewood, and Irene Gibson, Pauls Valley; two brothers, Wilson Amos, Marlow, and Harvey Amos, Sulphur; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
DeArman Funeral Home will direct services.
SULPHUR -- Services for Roberta May Boling Goeders, 66, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
Born Sept. 22, 1934, at Oklahoma City, to Virgil and Iva Cloud Boling, she died May 1, 2001, in Ardmore.
Raised in Spencer, she married the Rev. Johnny S. Goeders there on April 17, 1954. She lived in Oklahoma City before moving to Sulphur in 1999 after the death of her husband on Feb. 2, 1999. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Ward and Beverly Goeders, Sulphur; three brothers, Charles Boling, Oklahoma City, Warren and Wilford Boling, Arkansas; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Robbin Joy; two sisters; and a brother.
Bearers will be deacons at Calvary Baptist.
Services for Clark Pittman, 68, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Maxwell Avenue Church of Christ with Dr. Virgil Trout and Roy Hannah officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Pittman was born May 22, 1932, in Tishomingo, to George H. and Willie Warner Pittman. He died May 1, 2001, in the Norman hospital.
Raised in Tishomingo, he married Alma Audrey McIntire on July 5, 1952, in Sherman, Texas, and they moved to Velma where he operated a service station. After moving to Ardmore in 1962, he owned and operated Clark's Derby Station for more than 30 years. He was a member of Maxwell Avenue Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Bradley, Walnut Springs, Texas, Mark, Ardmore, and Tracy, Bartlesville; two sisters, Sue Griffin, Foster, and Georgia Sanner, Duncan; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Michael Hunter, Leland McDaniel, Brian Long and Jason, Justin and Josh Pittman.
SULPHUR -- Services for Terri Ann Meeks, 42, Davis, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Rowls and the Rev. Robert Green officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home.
Mrs. Meeks was born Jan. 13, 1959, in Wynnewood. She died April 29, 2001, in a Houston hospital.
She graduated from Sulphur High School in 1978 and lived in Orlando, Fla., until 1986 when she returned to Sulphur. She and David Meeks were married April 2, 1977, in Sulphur.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Jeff, Sulphur; her mother, Freda Gilbert, Sulphur; her father, James Lancaster, Davis; two brothers, Jerry and Jimmy; and sister, Becky Farmer, all of Sulphur; and a granddaughter.
Bearers will be Bob Glover, Benji Sartors, Jeff Knisley, Terry Flowers, Kenny Curry, Brian McDonald and Jai Batson. Honorary bearers are Milton White, Paul Gray, Martin Guston, Chuck McKennell, Kenneth Orr, LaVern Farmer, Gene Bonham, Sable Hardin, J.D. Glover, Larry Hobbs, David Pitman, Darrell Lackey, Dub West, Lee Liles and LeMac Morris.
Services for Carolstyne Dolletta Black Burks will be at 1 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Lawson officiating. Interment will be at Clearview Cemetery under the direction of Ragsdale-Grant and Sons Mortuary.
Born to John H. Black and Jeraldine Forbes on Jan. 9, 1946, in Ardmore, Mrs. Burks died April 28, 2001, in the local hospital.
She graduated from Douglass High School, attended Howard University in Washington, D.C., and then transferred to Langston where she was affiliated with Delta Sigma Theta sorority. She taught school in Oklahoma City and then was employed by the Oklahoma Employment Service. She served as pianist at First Baptist Church. She and Hayward "Stoney" Burks Jr. were married in 1984.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a daughter, Gwendolyn Fields; four brothers, Robert Chatman, San Angelo, Texas, Jacob Black, Edmond, John C. Black, Atlanta, and Jimmy D. Chatman, Lawton; three sisters, Denise Harris, Grandfield, and Evetta Benson and Debra Anderson, both of Lawton; and stepmother, Gwendolyn Bagby.
MANNSVILLE -- Graveside services for Betty Ann Hill, 69, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mannsville Cemetery with Brad Buchanan officiating.
Mrs. Hill was born May 9, 1931, at Cushing, to Fred and Bertha K. Horsch Thompson Coleman. She died April 30, 2001, at Mannsville.
She moved from Cushing to Mannsville in 1947 and worked for SOWDA for 23 years. She also worked with the Reaching Out Program in Johnston County and was a member of United Methodist Church. She and William L. Hill were married on March 7, 1947, in Montague, N.M. He died Jan. 25, 1982.
She is survived by children, Johnie Hill, Latisha Gray, Diana Bralley and Twanda Hill; and her mother, Bertha Dolen, all of Mannsville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Ernest Gray, Bert Lummus, Ryan Bralley, Tim Williamson, David Dill and Todd Looney.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Watts Funeral Home.
