WILSON -- Graveside services for Tommy Neal Tudor, 64, formerly of Wilson and Ardmore, now of Weatherford, Texas, will be at 2 p.m. today, May 2, 2001, at Hewitt Cemetery with the Rev. David Gardner officiating.
Mr. Tudor was born on July 10, 1936, in Dillard, to Lucille L. Medders Acox and Maner Tudor. He died April 24, 2001, at his residence in Weatherford.
Raised at Dillard, he graduated from Wilson High School in 1954 and entered the U.S. Navy as a Seaman recruit in June of 1954. He advanced through the enlisted grades to chief petty officer in March 1966 and then subsequently was appointed a limited duty officer June 1, 1970. He served during Operation Deep Freeze in Antarctica and then in Vietnam with his last assignment being aircraft maintenance control officer at Chase Field, Naval Air Station, in Beeville, Texas. He retired as a lieutenant on Sept. 30, 1978, after 20 years of service to his country. Tudor lived several years in Ardmore, moved to Mineral Wells, Texas, then to Weatherford, Texas, two years ago.
He was preceded in death by his father and three sisters, Patsy Kyle, Karen Hobby and Louise Lesch.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Adrian Melton Jr. of Milo, and Jeanine and Timmy West of Ardmore; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Patty Tudor of Ardmore; his mother, Lucille Acox, of Wilson; two sisters, Sharon Elmore of Wilson, and Bobbie Laughlin of Bay City, Texas; four brothers, Charles Tudor of Oklahoma City, Billy Acox of Wilson, Ronnie Tudor of Weatherford, and Larry Tudor of Ardmore; the mother of his children, Shirley Tudor of Ardmore; six grandchildren, Steven Tudor, Yvonne Brown, Justin Arnold, Brad Qualls, Michelle Qualls and Amanda West; three great-grandchildren, Maisie Brown, Jaden Arnold and Skyler Qualls.
Alexander Funeral Home will direct services.
MADILL -- Services for Otis Samuel Ward, 83, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Watts Memorial Chapel with Bob Wakeman officiating. Interment will be at Woodberry Forest Cemetery.
Ward was born June 29, 1917, at Madill to Jesse and Savannah Carroll Ward. He died April 28, 2001, in Oklahoma City.
Married to Maxine Bailey March 27, 1937, at Gordonville, Texas, he owned and operated Ward's Hardware Store for nearly 50 years and then managed Madill Hardware and Lumber Company until he retired from TH Rogers. He was a former officer in Madill Alumni Association, Sand Bass Festival, Rotary Club Chamber of Commerce and Round-Up Club. He was a 73-year member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Phyllis Clark and Connie Ewing; a brother, David; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotta Self, and grandchild.
Bearers will be Carl Stafford, Dr. Greg Martens, Wayne Cabiness, Dr. Carroll Hutchens, S.P. Parrish, Richard Phillips, Jack Skaggs, Bill Parrot and Joe Gary.
Services for Charlie Clark Sr., 63, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Kirk Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Lawson officiating. Interment will be at Clearview Cemetery.
Born May 13, 1938, at Vicksburg, Miss., to James and Roxie A. Franklin Clark, he died April 26, 2001. He had lived in Ardmore 31 years.
Survivors include two sons, Charlie Jr. and Zackary, Ardmore; two daughters, Charlesanna Clark, Marietta, and Ashley Ensey, Texas; his mother, Vicksburg; two sisters, Arnell Clark, Vicksburg, and Annie Dawson, New York; three brothers, Frank, Washington, D.C., James, New Orleans, and Ned, Richmond, Va.; stepchildren, Rhonda McBee and Vivian Young, Ardmore; Wade and Hope Young, Marietta; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Bill Young; a sister, Josephine Clark; and brother, Andrew.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at Kirk-Dawson-Dillard Funeral Home.
Services for Ira Vada Blalock will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2001, at Central/Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Murray officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Ira Vada Blalock, 96, went to join her Lord on April 24, 2001, in Oklahoma City. She was born July 21, 1904, in Winnsboro, Texas, to James William and Louisa Barnett Pace.
She married Grady Blalock in Ardmore on June 4, 1923. They purchased their home in 1928, and she lived there until the time of her death. Her spiritual home was the former First Orthodox Baptist Church, now Trinity Baptist, where she has been a member for more than 70 years. She was active in Sunday school class and sang in the choir. She loved and was loved by her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters; two brothers; her daughter, Anita Jean Scearce; a granddaughter; and two nieces.
She is survived by a son, James of Ardmore; a daughter, Rebecca O'Neal of Bethany; granddaughters, Joe Beth Cochran of McAlester, Cheryl Edelen of Denver, Donna Phillips and Lena Beth Stevens of Ardmore, Jane Ellen Deaton of Spiro and Melanie Campbell of Del City; a grandson, James O'Neal of Tahlequah; 15 grandchildren; and a niece, Carol Worley of San Marcos, Texas.
HEALDTON -- Services for Lucille "Sis" Phipps, 89, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Healdton First Baptist Church with Phil Fox officiating. Interment will be at Mount Olive Cemetery.
Mrs. Phipps was born June 22, 1911, near Healdton to Aaron and Mae Whitener Dunn. She died April 25, 2001, in a local health care facility.
She graduated from Fox High School and married Ollie Phipps on April 13, 1939, at Ringling. They owned a grocery in Countyline for several years, moving to Illinois and later to Sulphur where they owned a furniture store. Following the death of her husband in 1970, she owned Lucille's Dress Shop in Pauls Valley for 20 years before retiring. She moved to Oklahoma City and then to Ardmore five years ago.
Survivors include four brothers, Howard Dunn, Jarkarta, Indonesia, Pat Dunn, Ardmore, and R.A. and Mike Dunn, Healdton. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Dunn, in 1998.
Nephews will serve as bearers.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Spivey's Reser Funeral Home.
HENNEPIN -- Graveside services for Augusta Ella Starr, 95, will be at 1 pm. Saturday at Hennepin Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Price officiating.
Mrs. Starr was born Sept. 7, 1905, in Hebron, Minn., to Alfred and Cora Eastwood Thorne. She died April 22, 2001, in Blackwell, Wis.
She was the widow of Louis Starr, who died July 7, 1986, and was a former resident of Hennepin.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Starr, Monticello, Minn.; two sons, Jerry, Townsend, Wis., and Bud, Hennepin; a sister, Betty Hickenbottom, Hobart, Ind.; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Fox Funeral Home will direct services.
PURCELL -- Services for former Ardmore resident Genevieve Mote, 83, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
Mrs. Mote was born Oct. 27, 1917, at Wayne. She died April 22, 2001, in Jackson, Tenn.
She was the widow of James Lincoln Mote and lived in Ardmore in 1972.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Handley, Las Vegas, and Joan Skipper, Selmer, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
MADILL -- Services for Josie Ellen Honea, 89, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Watts Memorial Chapel with Boyce Moon officiating. Interment will be at Woodberry Forest Cemetery.
Mrs. Honea was born Nov. 8, 1911, in Gorman, Texas, to Edgar and Georgia Carter. She died April 22, 2001.
She moved to Eldorado, Okla., as a child then to Madill in 1928. She was a member of First Baptist Church and former nurses aid. She and James Honea were married Oct. 14, 1927, in Erick. She was preceded in death by her husband Dec. 5, 1972; a son, James J.; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
Survivors include a son, Jack O., Yuba City, Calif.; a daughter, Joyce L. Armstrong, Madill; a brother, John Carter Cohassett, Calif.; and two sisters, Edna Grimes, Mustang, and Johnnie Floyd, Checotah.
Bearers will be Eugene Earley, Kent and Darren Armstrong, Jim, Bobby and Mark Honea.
MARIETTA -- The family of Opie Beeler Glazener will come together in Christ's peace at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at Lakeview Cemetery for a graveside service.
The service is to mourn because we are human and to rejoice because we are Christians. To thank God, the Father, for the gift of Opie's life and to celebrate the power of Jesus' resurrection because we are His people in life and in death.
Let it be joyfully known that Opie Beeler Glazener, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. C.A. Beeler, deceased, sister of Lona, Cecil and Ingram Beeler, all deceased, wife of George Edward Glazener, also deceased, mother of Verona Belle Prokopich, and grandmother of George Kaleb Prokopich, glorified the Father while here on earth. She finished her labors for the Kingdom of Love and entered into eternal life on April 22, 2001.

SULPHUR -- Services for Ollie Bell Carter, 98, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Clagg Funeral Home chapel with Robert Ledbetter officiating. Interment will be at Drake Cemetery.
Mrs. Carter was born July 13, 1902, in Collinsville, Texas, to James W. and Bertie Carr Marsee. She died April 22, 2001, in Duncan.
She came to the Big Canyon area as a small child and lived most of her life in Sulphur before moving to Duncan three years ago. She married Henry Whitt Carter Oct. 30, 1920, in Ardmore, and was a member of Vinita Avenue Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 17, 1984; a son, Henry Wayne Carter; a brother; and four sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Bertie S. Chenault, Duncan, and Christine Bomzer, Cairo, Ga.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Chase and Ronnie Pierce, Michael Wylder, Bruce Lucas, Stephen and Darryl Carter.
WILSON -- Services for Hazel E. Meyer, 94, will be at 1 p.m. today, April 23, 2001, at First United Methodist Church in Wilson with the Rev. Kay Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore.
Mrs. Meyer was born Feb. 9, 1907, at Blue, Okla., to Alfred S. and Mary Katherine Shaddox Wheeler. She died April 20, 2001, in Ardmore.
Mrs. Meyer grew up in southeastern Oklahoma and graduated from Boswell High School in 1924. The family moved to Mounds, Okla., in 1926 and she met and married Edward A. Meyer on April 12 1927, at Okmulgee. They moved to Hominy, where he worked for Conoco Oil Company, then to Fairfax, Blackwell, to Edmond in 1944, then to Wilson in 1950. They joined the United Methodist Church in Wilson that year. She served as president of the Ardmore District of United Methodist Women four terms and was local president many years. She joined Eastern Star in 1945 while in Edmond and served as Worthy Matron four terms, Royal Matron of Court 34 of the Amaranth, Ardmore, three terms, and received her 50-year pin in addition to other awards during her long tenure.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 15, 1996; her parents; four sisters; and five brothers.
Survivors include a son, James O. Meyer; a daughter, Wilma J. Miller and son-in-law, Bill Miller, all of the home in Wilson; a granddaughter, Deborah A. Polios, and grandson-in-law, Bill Polios of Las Vegas.
Bearers will be Jerry Mashore, Jack Richardson, Charlie Parrish, Gene Griffin, Bob Wilson and Wayne Russell.

GAINESVILLE, Texas -- Services for John Henry Paschen, 55, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Temple Baptist Church in Gainesville, Texas, with Dr. Eddie Chennault officiating. Interment will be at Orr Cemetery under the direction of Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
Paschen was born March 24, 1946, in DeQueen, Ark., to Eugene and Mamie Madewell Paschen. He died April 21, 2001.
Married to Carol Ann Byrd June 20, 1984, in Gainesville, he was a Vietnam veteran and supervisor for General Electric.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Mike Freytag, Dallas; three daughters, Tanya Paschen, Gordonville, Texas, Johnnice Paschen and Jana Price, Gainesville; his mother, Mamie Paschen, Ardmore; two brothers, Ray, Winoka, and William, Ardmore; three sisters, Irene Davis, Wilson, Wanda Clevenger, Stratford, and Debbie Miller, Lone Grove; and eight grandchildren.

RATLIFF CITY -- Services for Ethel Byram, 91, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ratliff City First Baptist Church with Brother Albin "Monk" Firestone and Brother Bobby Perkins officiating Interment will be at Dixie Cemetery.
Mrs. Byram was born Dec. 29, 1909, at Ravia, to Ben T. and Mary Lou Kendicks Weatherford. She died April 21, 2001, in Healdton.
A resident of this community since 1931, she married Lee Roy Byram in February of 1925, at Purnell, and was a member of First Baptist Church. She ws preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 5, 1962; two brothers, Arthur and Ed Weatherford; and two sisters, Alice Haston and Edna Weatherford.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby L., Byram, Houston, and Kenneth and wife Betty Byram, Duncan; a daughter and son-in-law Peggy and Jim Burton, Ratliff City ;three sisters, Ola Caraway, Kerrville, Texas, Peggy Spillar, and Estelle Getts, both of Austin, Texas; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be grandsons, Kenneth Ray Byram, Kevin Byram, Kelly Byram, Ronnie Burton, Michael Brown and James Lewis. Honorary bearers will be great-grandsons.
Spivey's Reser Funeral Home, Healdton, will direct services.
Graveside services for Betty Louise Blevins, 69, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Provence Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Smith officiating.
Mrs. Blevins was born April 15, 1932, in Ardmore, to Lawrence and Jewel Steudeman Dill. She died April 21, 2001, in the local hospital.
A lifetime resident of Ardmore, she was a homemaker and member of the Temple of Deliverance. She married Delbert Blevins Feb. 24, 1977, in Ardmore.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; four sons, Larry McKenzie and Roger Holder, Lone Grove, and Robert and Wayne Holder, Ardmore; two daughters, Virgie Songayllo and Marsha Marshall, Ardmore; a brother, Lawrence Dill, Ardmore; a sister, Gertie Swinney, Macomb; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Honorary bearers will be Larry, Jared and Billy McKenzie, Carl Songayllo, Davis Dill, Rodney Harrison, Cash Landis, Wayne and Roger Holder.
Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home will direct services.
MADILL -- Services for the Rev. Henry Winston Marris, 84, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Watts Memorial Chapel with Steve Wall and Ray Taylor officiating. Interment will be at McMillan Cemetery. Wake services will be from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
Marris was born Aug. 20, 1916, at McMillan, to Wench and Sallie Johnson Marris. He died April 21, 2001, in Madill.
Raised in McMillan, he lived in Ada and Ardmore and served in the Navy during World War II. He served as a Baptist minister in area Indian churches and retired after serving at McMillan Baptist. He and Hazel Stella Mose were married Sept. 21, 1953, in Sherman, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife on Feb. 27, 1992; a grandson; and granddaughter.
Survivors include sons, Carl, McMillan, John, Marietta, Henry Jr., McMillan, and Danny, Oakland; daughters, Patricia Peters, Honolulu, Sally Wallace and Doris Behrens, McMillan; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Charles, Noel, Dibbon and Henry Marris III, Jason and Jarret Wallace, Clovis Hamilton and Chad Selvy.
