Bun Dale Miller
LEON -- Services for Bun Dale Miller, 66, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Leon Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwight Hawkins and Dr. Virgil Trout officiating. Interment will be at Leon Cemetery.
Mr. Miller was born Nov. 21, 1934, at Marlow to W.R. and Ida B. Hill Miller. He died April 11, 2001, in the Marietta hospital.
He was raised and attended school at Addington. Married to Jacque I. Monkres on June 13, 1953, in Gainesville, Texas, he lived in several towns before returning to Leon where Bun worked in the oilfields in addition to being a farmer/rancher most of his life. He was a member of Leon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jacque, of the home in Leon; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Vicky Miller of Overbrook, and Jaylin and Kelly Miller of Lone Grove; four grandchildren, Cody, Mackenzie, Kolton and Jace Miller; two sisters, Melba Martin of Bells, Texas, and Wilma South of Midland, Texas; two brothers, Joel Miller of Bray, and James Miller of Red Oak, Okla.; a brother-in-law, Pierce Monkres of De Soto, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Joan Arthur and Jeleen Sumrall both of Red Oak, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Bearers will be Buddy Petty, Glennis Hartman, Buddy Clark, Larry Graham, Dutch Langston, Donnie Reed, Timmy Arthur and Cody Miller. Honorary bearers are Jim and Sharon Young, Joe Russell, Jimmy Frazier, John Reed, Louis and James Blakley and Ann Langston.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Alexander Funeral Home.

Bettye J. Winburn
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Bettye J. Winburn, 76, Stillwater, formerly of Tishomingo, will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Joey Lansdale officiating. Interment will be at Tishomingo Cemetery under the direction of Clark Funeral Service.
Mrs. Winburn was born Dec. 28, 1924, at Kingston to W.A. "Bois D' arc" and Hazel Willis Beames. She died April 11, 2001, in Stillwater.
A resident of Tishomingo much of her life, she graduated from Murray State College in 1944 and married Harold Winburn May 12, 1946, at Denison. She was employed by Reeves Insurance Agency for many years as office manager. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Tishomingo Daughters.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a son, Larry, Stillwater; daughter, Leslie Brann, St. Louis, Mo.; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ben, Bob and Sid Beames.

Robert E. 'Bob' Summers
Graveside rites for Robert E. "Bob" Summers, 71, Iola, Kan., will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Summers was born May 3, 1929, at Healdton to Jesse and Adelia Fulton Summers. He died April 10, 2001, in Iola.
A graduate of Healdton High School, he received his degree in music from the University of Oklahoma and married Wanda Thompson on Dec. 31, 1950, in Wichita Falls, Texas. They lived in San Antonio while he was in the Air Force playing with the band. He earned his master's degree at the University of Oklahoma and taught vocal music in the state and in Colorado before moving to Iola in 1970. He moved back to Oklahoma and then returned to Iola. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Craig Summers, Pittsburg, Kan., Jeff Summers, Austin, Texas, and Bryan Summers, Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Kathy Reed, Pittsburg, Kan., and Cindy Summers, Knoxville, Tenn.; a sister, Snooky Adams, Healdton; and five grandchildren.

Ewilda Phillips
MARIETTA -- Services for Ewilda Phillips, 91, Marietta, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Healdton First Baptist Church with Phil Fox officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.
Mrs. Phillips was born April 12, 1909, in Severe County, Ark., to Samuel and Hattie Coffee Patton. She died April 11, 2001, in a local health care facility.
She had lived in Marietta most of her life and operated Vaughn Cafe from 1961 to 1974. She moved to Healdton in 1978 and returned to Marietta 20 years later. She was a member of Healdton First Baptist Church. She was the widow of Wallace Vaughn, whom she married in 1927; and Otto Phillips whom she married in 1976. She was also preceded in death by a son, Dennis in 1970; four brothers; and five sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Don Vaughn, Ames, and Jerry Vaughn, Talihina; two daughters, Winnie McKibban, Healdton, and Oleta Culwell, Willis; a sister, Helen Smallwood, Del City; two stepchildren, George Phillips and Georgia Gibson; 19 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

Dois Jo Clary
DAVIS -- Graveside services for Dois Jo Clary, 64, Duncan, were at 11 a.m. today at Green Hill Cemetery with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating.
Mrs. Clary was born Feb. 23, 1937, at Joy, to O.R. and Dora M. Duck. She died April 10, 2001, at her residence.
She graduated from Davis High School in 1955 and married Harold Clary here May 27, 1955. She was preceded in death by a son, Deron R. and two brothers, Duane and Dale Duck.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; two daughters, Sharla Moore, Shawnee, and Sandy Defillipo, Elgin; a sister, Sandra Rock, Papillion, Neb.; and four grandchildren.

Margaret L. Knight
MADILL -- Services for Margaret Louise Knight, 71, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Watts Memorial Chapel with Bob Waitman officiating. Interment will be at Woodberry Forest Cemetery.
Mrs. Knight was born Oct. 18, 1929, at Madill, to Willie R. and Marah E. Root Carter. She died April 10, 2001, in Madill.
A lifetime resident of Madill, she married John Knight here Sept. 15, 1952, and was employed several years by the Corner Drug Store. She was a member of First Baptist Church, B&PW and Round Up Club. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 26, 1983; a son, John Russell; and sister, Dorothy Denton.
Survivors include a daughter, Johnna Chaffin, Madill; a brother, Willie Carter, Ardmore; a sister, Janie Carter, Sadler, Texas; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Dewayne Wellman, Dale Waymire, George Smith, Logan Beard, Bob Rogers, Rickey Clark, Jody Minter and Doyle Blakely.

Jeffery A. Bates
Services for Jeffery Alan Bates, 30, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Graveside rites will be at 3:30 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Chickasha.
Bates was born July 20, 1970, in Oklahoma City, to Robert and Annette Scaffetta Bates. He died April 10, 2001.
A graduate of Chickasha High School, he received his bachelor's of science degree in finance from the University of Oklahoma. He married Tracie Welch on June 8, 1991, in Chickasha. He moved to Ardmore in 1992 to work for Exchange National Bank and was vice president at BancFirst in the commercial lending department at the time of his death. He was active in the community on the Ardmore Main Street board, Southern Oklahoma Arts and Humanities, Habitat for Humanity, Sunshine Industries, Eastside Renaissance and Martin Luther King Outreach boards. He was also an officer and past board member of Ardmore Kiwanis and Leadership Ardmore graduate. As a member of First Baptist Church, he was deacon, department director and on the Baptist Foundation Advisory Committee.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; his mother, Annette, Chickasha; a brother, Brent, Norman; grandparents, Glennis Scaffetta, Chickasha; and Herbert and Cornelia Bates, Anadarko. He was preceded in death by his father.
Bearers will be Steve Russell, Chad Graves, Mike Johnson, Stan Marshall, Greg Piatt and Bob Dexter. Honorary bearers are fellow Sunday school class members, deacons, BancFirst employees and Southern Oklahoma Technology Center staff.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church building fund or Baptist Foundation.

Bill Dyer
ADA -- Services for William Eugene "Bill" Dyer, 35, Marietta, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church in Ada with Dr. Rusty Fuller officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Dyer was born Jan. 1, 1966, at Ypsilanti, Mich. He died April 8, 2001, in Tishomingo.
He graduated from Byng High School, attended technical schools in Okmulgee and Oklahoma City and the engineering school of his employer, Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railway. He and Dara Darlene Burnett were married Dec. 20, 1986. He was a member of Marietta First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife and three daughters, Amanda, Heather and Amber, all of the home; his parents, Gene and Linda Dyer, sister, Cindy Cooper, and grandmother, Elsie Williams, all of Ada.
Bearers will be Johnny Osborn, Don Byrd, Dale Beard, Darrell Mullins, Steve Cooper and Casey Anson. Honorary bearers are Leon Pfeifer, Johnny Boyles, Lee and James Williams.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Criswell Funeral Home, Ada.

Biggs L. McClennahan
STOBTOWN -- Services for Biggs L. McClennahan, 97, Ardmore, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Stobtown Baptist Church with the Rev. David Gardner and the Rev. W.C. Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore.
Mr. McClennahan was born Feb. 4, 1904, at Lamar, Ark., to James T. and Ona Womack McClennahan. He died April 10, 2001, in the local hospital.
A resident of this area most of his life, he was an oil field worker for Southerland Well Service and was a charter member of Stobtown Baptist Church. He and his wife Artie were married Jan. 5, 1931, in Ardmore. He was preceded in death by his wife on Aug. 16, 2000; a daughter, Lois J. Gardner; four sisters; and a great-granddaughter, Brandi Mize.
Survivors include sons, Rhoton B. McClennahan, Lone Grove, and Finis L. McClennahan of Clarksville, Ark.; a daughter, Ina Ruth Mize of Ardmore; a son-in-law, Gilbert Gardner of Lone Grove; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Kenneth Mize, Rennie Gardner, Nubbin McClennahan, Greg DeBerry, David Lynn Gardner and Brian Gardner. Honorary bearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 tonight at Griffin Funeral Home.

Gerald McClanahan
HEALDTON -- Private services for will be conducted for Gerald McClanahan, 82, who died April 8, 2001, in a local health care facility.
Born May 2, 1918, in Healdton, to Charles M. and Eva I. Guthrie McClanahan, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville and Earl.
He is survived by a brother, Charles, Durango, Colo.

Ricky D. Hillhouse
CARNEY -- Services for Ricky Dale Hillhouse, 46, Ardmore, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Assembly of God Church in Carney. The Rev. Lonnie Donaldson of the Newlife Assembly of God Church, Del City, and the Rev. Curt Bellinger, Assembly of God Church in Carney, will officiate. Interment will be at Carney Cemetery under the direction of Brown's Funeral Home in Luther.
Rick was born in Henryetta, Okla., on April 20, 1954. He passed this life on April 7, 2001, in Oklahoma City.
Rick graduated from Carney High School in 1972. He married Debbie Denice Bailey on June 7, 1974, at the Assembly of God Church in Carney with Rev. Lonnie Donaldson officiating. To this union, Ricky and Debbie were blessed with two children. They made their first home in Carney with subsequent moves to Stillwater and Ponca City. In 1986, Rick established Trim World, his own very successful business in the auto upholstery industry in Edmond where he and his family lived until 1995.
Rick and Debbie then moved their family to Ardmore, Okla. and built another successful business, Ardmore Kawasaki. This business fulfilled a dream in which he could incorporate his lifelong interest and love of motorcycles and racing. He was a longtime member of the Texas Cross County Racing Association and annually sponsored association races in Ardmore.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Ray Hillhouse and his mother, Geneva Martin Harless.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Debbie; and two children, Eric Dustin Hillhouse and Erin Denise Hillhouse, all of the home; his father and mother-in-law, Bobby and Carolyn Shaver Bailey of Carney; several brothers and sisters; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Cliff and Carrie Bailey Alford and Darrell and Tammy Boudreau Bailey, all of Carney; many nieces and nephews, including Brian and Denise Alford Buntin, Kyle and Amy Hale Alford, and Brandi, Briana and Bobby Jo Bailey, Matthew and Rachel Buntin, Shae and Kylie Alford, all of Carney; as well as host of other family and friends.

Wm. Fred Crawford Jr.
Private graveside services for Wm. Fred Crawford Jr., 80, will be Wednesday at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Patman officiating.
Born Oct. 20, 1920, in Mobile, Ala., to William F. and Irene Collins Crawford, he died April 9, 2001, at the local veterans center.
Mr. Crawford lived in Oklahoma most of his life. He graduated from Cushing High School in 1938 and earned his bachelor's degree in 1942 from the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and went to Notre Dame to become an ensign. He served in the South Pacific in the 19th squadron and commanded PT Boat 236, named "The Crawfish." He married Olive Bretz Jan. 30, 1943, in Oklahoma and returned to Oklahoma in 1945. He was in the automotive business, living in Oklahoma City, Blackwell and Ardmore for the past 35 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Fred was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching Oklahoma University football.
Survivors include his wife, Olive, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Connie Schuerman and husband, Ken; three granddaughters, Amy Laubach, Cory Owens and Emily Schuerman; and great-grandson, Jake Laubach, all of Norman.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Grace E. Brown
MILO -- Services for Grace E. Brown, 77, Lone Grove, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Jehovah Holiness Baptist Church in Milo with the Rev. W.J. Wallace officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Pauls Valley under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home, Ardmore.
Mrs. Brown was born Aug. 10, 1923, in Wynnewood, to Henry and Roberta Anderson Patillo. She died April 6, 2001, in the Ardmore hospital.
She worked in housekeeping at the Pauls Valley hospital and had lived in Lone Grove the past 19 years. She was a member of Jehovah Baptist Church. She was the widow of L.C. Brown Sr., who died Nov. 22, 1989.
Survivors include a son, L.C. Jr.; two daughters, Evelyn Reed, Lone Grove, and Linda Fuston, Edmond; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Grandchildren will serve as bearers.

Owen L. McKinnon
WILSON -- Graveside rites for Owen Luther McKinnon, 88, will be at 2 p.m. today at Crow Cemetery in Love County with the Rev. Mike Williams officiating.
McKinnon was born July 2, 1912, in Love County, to Holland L. and Emma R. Patty McKinnon. He died April 7, 2001 in Ardmore.
A lifetime resident of this area, he married Helen Marie Williams Sept. 7, 1936, in Love County and had worked as a pipefitter in the oil fields. He was a member of Pipefitters Union Local 344. He was preceded in death by his wife on Nov. 15, 1980; and three brothers, Carl, Sept. 30, 1990, Taylor, Jan. 16, 1996, and Vernon, Jan. 13, 1998.
Survivors include two daughters, JoAnn Guedry, Houston, and Pat Taylor, El Paso, Texas; a son, Jerry, Norman; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Honorary bearers are Cecil Williams and Truman Patty.

Dwain E. 'Son' Penner
MILL CREEK -- Graveside rites for Dwain Edward "Son" Penner, 81, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mill Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Betty Stone, Artie Quinton and Mark Anderson officiating.
Penner was born Jan. 21, 1920, at Mill Creek, to Charles E. and Cue Penner. He died April 7, 2001, in Sulphur.
A resident of the Mill Creek area most of his life, he attended the University of Oklahoma and received his degree in animal science from Oklahoma A&M University. He was owner of Penner Angus Ranch and a member of Mill Creek Methodist Church, Angus Association, Cattlemen's Association and other cattlemen's organizations. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the Air Force in the Pacific Theatre. He and Roberta Anderson were married Aug. 31, 1941, in McAlester. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Peggy Penner, Dorothy Swank and Charline Von Tungein.
He is survived by his wife, of Mill Creek.
Memorials may be made to the Mill Creek Methodist Church.
