DAVIS -- Services for Clifford L. "Sonny" Drennan Jr., 72, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. James Densman and the Rev. Eddie Malphrus officiating. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
Drennan was born March 14, 1929, at Elmore City, to Clifford L. and Beulah Moore Drennan. He died March 19, 2001, in Ardmore.
A resident of this area most of his life, he was a member of First Baptist Church, Oklahoma Cattleman's Association and West Davis Rural Water Board. He and Susie Wells were married Feb. 1, 1946, at Gainesville, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Marilyn and her husband, Darrell, of Sulphur; two sons, Wayne Drennan and Phil Drennan and his wife, Tracy, all of Davis; his mother, Beulah Drennan, also of Davis; and seven grandchildren, Blake, Brett, Stacy, Lyndsi, Colton, Meredith and Scott. He was preceded in death by his father; and a grandson, Cody L. Drennan, in 1998.
GAINESVILLE, Texas -- Services for Kenneth Simmons, 73, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Clement-Keel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Shane Suiter officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Born Jan. 26, 1928, at Dallas to George and Ada Davis Simmons, he died March 22, 2001, at a Denton, Texas, hospital.
He married Helen Lawhon Oct. 22, 1967, at Fort Worth, Texas.
Simmons was a field representative for Red River Livestock Sale Barn. He had been a rodeo announcer at Cooke County, Texas, for 49 years. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Bruce Green, Era, Texas; two daughters, Darla Belt, Memphis, Tenn., and Rachel Herron, Azle, Texas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Bearers are Ron Harrell, Tim Smith, LeRoy Maulden, Dale Bell, Bryce Breeden and Bernis Johnson.
Visitation is 7 to 8 tonight.
FORDYCE, Ark. -- Services for Betty Jean Gill, 64, Countyline, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Benten Funeral Home in Fordyce, Ark. Interment will be at Bucksnort Cemetery.
Mrs. Gill was born March 15, 1937, in Kingsland, Ark., to John G. and Mary E. Robins Miller. She died March 21, 2001, in Oklahoma City.
Married to Bruce Gill on Oct. 29, 1955, in Ramsey, Ark., she was a a homemaker and had lived in Countyline the past 21 years.
She is survived by her husband, of the home; three sons, William, G., Pruitt City, James M. New Edenberg, Ark., and John R., Ratliff City; five brothers, Bill Miller, Inola, Sam Miller, Fordyce, Bobby Miller, Pine Bluff, Ark., Roger Miller, Monticello, Ark., and Elbert Miller, Kingsland, Ark.; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three stepgrandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Milburn Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
RAVIA -- Graveside services for Michael L. "Mike" Gastineau, 38, Tishomingo, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ravia Cemetery with the Rev. J.E. Freeman officiating.
Born March 14, 1965, at Tishomingo, to Merl and Ima J. Nanney Gastineau, he died March 20, 2001, in Edmond.
He was employed in law enforcement with the Johnston County Sheriff's Department.
He is survived by seven sons, Greg, David, B., Charles, Allen Keith, Bobby and Jeffery Gastineau; a brother; three sisters, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother.
Bearers will be Ken Jones, Vernon Williams, Hank Morris, Randy Graham, James and Joe Gastineau. Honorary bearers will be Desmond Johnson, Kenny Shaffer and Dick Burris.
Watts Funeral Home, Tishomingo, will direct services.
RUBOTTOM -- Services for Raymond Wilson Furrh, 82, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2001, at the Rubottom Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Pryor officiating. Eulogy will be by Don Duke. Masonic graveside rites will follow at Rubottom Cemetery.
Mr. Furrh was born Nov. 6, 1918, in Courtney, Okla., to Fred Sampson and Ethel L. White Furrh. He died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at his Rubottom residence.
Mr. Furrh lived in Love County his entire life. He was a farmer who raised peanuts and whose hobbies were fishing and playing dominoes. He was a member of Rubottom Baptist Church.
Mr. Furrh was also a member of the Lone Grove Masonic Lodge, recently awarded a 50-year pin and certificate that reads as follows:

Mr. Furrh is survived by the mother of his children, Hazel M. Hyman, Rubottom; three sons, Richard Furrh, Ardmore, Teddy Furrh, Rubottom, and Pat Furrh, Grand Prairie, Texas; a daughter, Peggy Ellis, also Grand Prairie; an aunt, Verna Wooldridge, Ardmore; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Pike Wesley Furrh.
Bearers will be Larry Norton, Bobby Bishop, James Glen, Don Duke, Rodney Parker and Karol Ray Walls. Honorary pallbearers are Masonic Lodge members.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
ROFF -- Services for George Leroy Holloway, 81, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Roff United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Adams officiating. Interment will be at East Hill Cemetery under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home, Sulphur.
Holloway was born July 2, 1919, at Richland, Mo., to Issac W. and Gertrude DeVoss Holloway. He died March 19, 2001, at his residence.
Raised in Richland, he served in the armed forces during the Normandy invasion. He worked for the state department after serving 16 years with the armed forces before becoming a plastic product manufacturing supervisor for Amoco Chemicals, working there until he retired. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and had lived in Roff since 1996. He and Phyllis Kinsey were married June 5, 1993, in Twenty-nine Palms, Calif. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Cunigunda Buchhiet in 1992; a brother; and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, George Jr. McKinleyville, Calif., William, Canaga Park, Calif., and Thomas, Roff; a daughter, Shirley Stancliff, McKinleyville; two stepsons, Donald Dollard, Boston, and Craig Dollard, Sulphur; three stepdaughters, Catherine Fisher and Cynthia Schmidt, Wichita, Kan., and Ellen Vandever, Roff; a brother, Delbert, Richland; 27 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Johnnie Vandever, Thomas M., William H. and Thomas D. Holloway, George Schmidt and Gary Diaz.
OKEMAH -- Services for Maude Alice Lester Ball, 92, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home chapel in Okemah with the Rev. Carl Clay officiating. Interment will be at Welty Cemetery.
Mrs. Ball was born Nov. 16, 1908, at Okemah, to Mr. and Mrs. Perry Lester. She died March 27, 2001, in the Ardmore hospital.
Married to Asa "Ace" Charles Ball on Lester Farm, she was a homemaker and formerly worked in home nursing. She moved to Ardmore in 1957 from Oklahoma City and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1959; and two sons, Paul and Lindell L. Ball.
Survivors include a son, Don L., Pomona, Calif.; a brother, Luther Lester, Tulsa; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
LONE GROVE -- Services for Barrem E. Hammett, 91, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at the Lone Grove Assembly of God Church with pastor Steve Biggerstaff officiating. Interment will be at Newport Cemetery under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home.
Mr. Hammett was born April 7, 1909, at Prairie Valley, to Warren and Alice Hammett Byrd. He died March 26, 2001, in the local hospital.
Retired from the Noble Foundation as an experimental farmer, he was a member of the Baptist faith and Masonic Lodge of Lone Grove. He and Georgia Arnold were married Dec. 31, 1937, in Ardmore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Ned, Jack, Claude, Roy, Judson, Harold and Tom; two sisters, Myrtle Smith and Maud Shelton; a son, Royce Hammett; granddaughters, Valerie Hammett; and two great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Sarah McReynolds.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, of the home; two sons, Harold and Leon and his wife, Janice, of Lone Grove; a daughter, Bernetta Cary and her husband, Dan, of Norman; 11 grandchildren, Kim Dowhower and husband, Matt, of Norman, Lori Morris and husband, Mac, of Plano, Texas, Dana Cary of Plano, Lynn Ayres and husband, Darren, of Denison, Texas, Ellis Hammett and wife, Rhonda, Royce Hammett, Josh Hammett, Carrie McReynolds and husband, Don, Michael, Matthew and Danielle Hammett, all of Lone Grove; 10 great-grandchildren, Brittney and Blake Stone, Plano, Samatha, Logan, Samatha, and Paige Hammett of Lone Grove, Bryce, Cassidy and Anna Dowhower of Norman, and Ryan Ayres, Denison.
Bearers will be Ellis, Royce, Josh and Michael Hammett.
SULPHUR -- Graveside services for Pauline Annadown Holladay, 85, Oklahoma City, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Oaklawn Cemetery with the Rev. Emery Mason officiating.
Mrs. Holladay was born Oct. 16, 1915, at Centralia, Kan., to Dr. Paul and Leila Clark Annadown. She died March 27, 2001, in Oklahoma City.
She moved to Sulphur as a child and attended OCW in Chickasha and the University of Oklahoma. She married Paul Holladay Dec. 20, 1936, at Marietta. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 13, 1977; and three sisters Lois Henley, Hazel Leonard and Dr. Ruth Annadown.
Survivors include a daughter, Paula Fahey Faulk, Oklahoma City; a grandson; and great-granddaughter.
Clagg Funeral Home will direct services.
COMANCHE -- Graveside services for James Jack Neeld Jr., 83, Pooleville, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2001, at the Comanche Cemetery with Bro. Bob Keck officiating.
Mr. Neeld was born Jan. 8, 1918, in the Comanche area to James Jack and Cassey Latham Neeld. He died March 27, 2001, at his home in Pooleville.
He married Lena Octivene Brown on Oct. 10, 1934, and had lived in Pooleville since 1963. Mr. Neeld was employed by Mobil Oil Company more than 30 years until he retired in 1980. After retiring he raised cattle, enjoyed fishing, hunting and his home with his wife, Lena. He was a member of Fox Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Jerry Ann Watson.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; four sisters, Edith Coffman, Minnie Williamson, Marcello Summers and Alice Miller; three daughters and their husbands, Lucille and Don Roscoe, Gladstone, Mo., Barbara and Ronnie McIntire, Kearney, Mo., and Mary and Tommy Hammons, Chickasha; a son, Jackie and Angela Neeld, Pooleville; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Spivey's Reser Funeral Home.
MARIETTA -- Services for Georgia Blair Porter, 91, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Clentis McCarroll officiating. Interment will be at Prairie View Cemetery.
Mrs. Porter was born Jan. 8, 1910, at Belview, Texas, to Gude and Julia A. Oliver Blair. She died March 25, 2001, in the Ardmore hospital.
She lived in Belview, Selina and Allen, Texas before moving to Marietta. She was a member of St. Mary's Baptist Church in Allen.
Survivors include a brother, Moses Blair, of the home in Marietta; two stepsons, James and Charles Porter, Wichita, Kan.; and several stepgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven siblings, Andrew, Willie, Warren, Ananais, Gude, Eddie and Elizabeth.
Bearers will be Perry Halstied, Billy and Eugene Rambo, Herculee McCarroll, Milton Dailey, Lewis Douglass and Ray Douglas. Honorary bearers are Vernon Anderson, Herbert Blair, Jimmy Blair, Gude Blair Jr., Shell Blair and Mozell Blair Jr. and Mozell Blair Sr.
Kirk-Dawson-Dillard Funeral Home will direct services.
SULPHUR -- Services for Sood Kirby, 85, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Cowley-Krien Chapel with the Rev. Jack Eldred and the Rev. Butch Fires officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Kirby was born July 26, 1915, at Malcoff, Texas, to John W. and Carrie E. Hilliard Kirby. He died March 29, 2001, in a Sulphur health care facility.
He moved to Mill Creek in 1921, to Drake in 1935 and to the Sulphur area in 1939. He and Lena Mozzel Browning were married Dec. 24, 1931, in Sulphur. She preceded him in death on Aug. 28, 1994.
He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Lou Kirby and Berva Dawn Wilson; four sisters, two brothers, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He is survived by three sons, Joe W., Ventura, Calif., David and Jack, Sulphur; seven daughters, Sue Grantham, Stratford, Margaret Dickey, Oklahoma City, Sharon Garrison, Mill Creek, Jana Eldred, Norman, Reta Fires, Retha Cravatt and Karen White, Sulphur; 24 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; five stepgrandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be George Grantham, Lee and Sood Cravatt, Luke White, Charles and David Wilson, Ty and Timmy Warden, Tony Daniels, Jason Fires and Jakey Elred. Honorary bearers are Kenneth Dilbeck and Junior Kirby.
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Services for Richard W. "Ricky" Harnsberger, 22, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Guardian West Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Patman officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Ardmore.
Born Nov. 3, 1978, at Ardmore to Mike and Dianna Harnsberger, he died March 22, 2001, at Oklahoma City. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Survivors include his father; one sister, April Kyle-Haskins; grandparents, Marjorie Harnsberger and James and Melbra Haskins; and great grandfather, Warren Robinson.
Visitation is noon to 9 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday.
Services for Ray J. Cogdill, 84, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Harvey-Douglas Chapel with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Cogdill was born April 1, 1914, at Ringling, Okla., to the late James L. and Mary Ellen McRandle Cogdill. He died March 17, 2001, in the local hospital.
Mr. Cogdill, who retired from the United States Army in 1959 after over 20 years of service to his country, began his military career in 1939. He served during World War II in Rhineland Ardennes, Northern France and Central Europe. After the Battle of the Bulge, he was proud to receive, along with his unit, a Christmas card signed by Gen. Patton of headquarters Third United States Army. On the back of the card is a prayer Gen. Patton requested his chaplains say just before the troops went into battle. Then, the weather cleared, and the bombers could knock out the German supply lines. This battle ended the war. During his service he received three Bronze Stars, the Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal and American Defense Service Ribbon as well as many others. In one of his efficiency reports his battery commander wrote, "the most outstanding supply officer I have ever known."
Cogdill and Ann Mae Bourns were married Nov. 1, 1941, in Ardmore. He was preceded in death by his wife Feb. 27, 1990; four brothers, Leonard, M.L. "Bill," Russell and Otis "Dink"; and two sisters, Annie and Faye Cogdill.
Survivors include two sisters, his twin, May Reynolds of Roseville, Calif., and Christine Miler of Waurika; nieces, Bobbie Lovette, Sue Adkins, Alice Collins, Pat McCain, Betty Jo LeClair, Mary Beth Johnson, Madeline Jimenaz, Elvina Hill, Sheila McMillan and Marzella Kelly; nephews, Elvin Banks, Bill and Jack Powell; and many great-great nephews and nieces.
MARIETTA -- Services for Mary Myrtle Gibson, 100, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Littlefield Cemetery, Littlefield, Texas.
Born July 15, 1900, at Wolfe City, Texas, to Paul H. and Amanda Rains Cofer, she died March 23, 2001, at an Ardmore hospital. She married James "Jim" F. Gibson in 1916 at Quanah, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1980. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Benita June Gibson, and Doris Tomlinson; one son, R. Lee Gibson; one brother, Ray Cofer; and two sisters, Mable O'Dell and Dolly Jameson.
Mrs. Gibson had lived at Love County since 1980, moving from Littlefield. She was a homemaker and a member of Marietta Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Jimmie Ross Gibson, Waurika; one daughter, Eddie Jewel Hankins, Marietta; one sister, Gertrude Reagan, Tulia, Texas; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Honorary bearers are grandsons.
