WILSON -- Graveside services for Alice America Cain, 85, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hewitt Cemetery with the Rev. Monte Dean officiating.
Born Dec. 26, 1915, at Fort Townson to Virgil and Adra Hendrix Hutchins, she died March 14, 2001, at Ardmore. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Christine Hilbrandt, and one brother, Wallace Shelton.
She moved to California to live with her grandmother at an early age and attended school at Holtville, Calif. She and William A. "Bud" Cain were married Jan. 19, 1941, at Arizona and lived at California until moving to Wilson in 1979. She was a member of Rexroat Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years; one daughter, Charlene, and her husband, George, Hathaway, Zimmerman, Minn.; five grandchildren, Sheryll Mayes-Okerstrom, Virgil Hathaway, Neil Hathaway, Brian "Quint" Hathaway and Karol Lea Chock; eight great-grandchildren, Jason, William, Jeramie, Melissa, Nicholas, Theodore, Clayton and Allen; and five great-great-grandchildren, Josephine Lynn, Brittani May, Dedra, Nathan and Natasha.
Bearers are Dalton Cain, Bobby Way, Curtis Turner, Kenneth Cain, James Turner and Bennie Cartwright.
Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
Thomas Mark Champion
MOUNT DORA, Fla. -- Memorial services for Thomas Mark Champion, 46, were March 17, 2001, at First United Methodist Church Chapel with the Rev. William McLoud officiating.
Born in 1955 at Tulsa, he died March 14, 2001. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas R. Champion.
Champion moved to Mount Dora in 1958.
Survivors include one daughter, Christina Champion, of the home; his mother, Linelle Bogart, formerly of Ardmore; his aunt, Dana Champion Mordy, Ardmore; and his uncle, Charles Champion, Ardmore.
Lucille Forguson
SHAY -- Graveside rites for Lucille Forguson, 75, Madill, were 11 a.m. March 17, 2001, at Shay Cemetery with Lyndol Adams officiating.
Born Aug. 12, 1925, at Shay to Arthur Stevens and Maudie Thompson, she died March 15, 2001, at Madill. She married Raymond Forguson in November 1988 at Madill. He preceded her in death Dec. 27, 1992. She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Reared at Shay, she moved to Roswell, N.M., in 1960. She worked as a beautician before suffering a stroke and moving back to Marshall County where she lived the rest of her life. She was active in the Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Vita Henderson; brothers, Henry Stevens and Sidney Stevens; sister, Dovie Norton; half-brother, Junior Stevens; half-sister, Ollie Wilcox; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home.
Lona Mae Maddox
March 15, 2001, was the glorious day in the life of Lona Mae Maddox, for on that day she was escorted by the angels for her eternal home with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Coley officiating. Burial will be at Lone Grove Cemetery.
Lona was born July 14, 1913, at the Blue Ribbon Settlement in Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Robert and Gertie Griffin Price. Reared in this area, she married James Cecil Maddox on March 21, 1932, at Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2000. She was a member of the Blue Ribbon Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by a daughter, Bernice Waller; a son, James, both of Ardmore; a sister, Edna Finley, Wilson; three grandsons, Mike Waller and Randy and Craig Maddox; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
Bearers are Ted Pruitt, Ted and Fred Nichols, Finis and Billy Joe Price and Mark Muller.
William Lewis Lovell
MARIETTA -- Services for William Lewis Lovell, 73, Yukon, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dwight Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at Leon Cemetery.
Born March 1, 1928, at DuBois, Penn., to Frank and Eva Waggett Lovell, he died March 15, 2001, at an Oklahoma City hospital.
He married Lula Belle Clark June 12, 1987, at Eureka Springs, Ark.
Lovell had lived in the Yukon area for the past 20 years. He retired as a self-employed electrical supply salesman. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy. Lovell was a member of Lahoma Church of Christ and the India Shriner Temple. He was a 32nd degree Mason.
Survivors include his wife of the home; and one sister, Gloria Magnacca, Bermuda Dunes, Calif.
Bearers are greeters of the Indian Shriner Temple.
Lorena K. Koogler
Memorial services for Lorena K. Koogler, 97, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Richard Hopper officiating. Interment is at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Koogler was born Jan. 2, 1904, at Indianapolis, Ind., to C.O. and Catherine Foster Kindred. She died March 14, 2001, in a local health care facility. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Koogler, on May 8, 1977. She was also preceded in death by a stepson, Jack Koogler.
Mrs. Koogler had been a resident of Ardmore since 1957, moving from Amarillo, Texas. She was a teacher and taught at Anadarko, Altus and Amarillo and was a substitute teacher at Ardmore. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen Davis, Ardmore; six nephews, Bob, Carl and Wayne Kindred, all of Amarillo, Charles, Bill and Ken Miller, all of Ardmore; two nieces, Fern Kindred Leonard, Amarillo, and Kathryn Allnutt, Port Orchard, Wash.; and many friends and former students.
Essie M. Clyburn
KINGSTON -- Graveside services for Essie Marie Clyburn, 69, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kingston Cemetery with Cora Waggoner officiating.
Mrs. Clyburn was born Dec. 7, 1931, at Boswell to Francis M. and Ollie J. Brady Brumfield. She died March 17, 2001, in Durant.
A resident of Marshall County most of her life, she was a housekeeper and member of Mannsville Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Inez Dobson and Lillian Jackson.
Survivors include children, David Pendergraft, Lloyd W. Pendergraft, Frank R. Clyburn, Mary A. Genn; a sister, Nola Stafford; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Cleona M. York
SULPHUR -- Services for Cleona Mavis York, 67, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Clagg Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. John Joughin officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Born Feb. 12, 1934, at South Alexandria, N.H., to Leon C. and Blanche E. Hazeltine Patten, she died March 14, 2001, in Oklahoma City.
Reared in Alexandria, she served with the Air Force during the Korean war and received the National Defense Service Medal. She worked at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital, Sulphur Middle School, Cedar Blue and the local sewing factory. She and James York were married Dec. 25, 1954, in Sulphur.
Survivors include her husband, Sulphur; daughters, Carol Chandler, Irving, Texas, and Linda Brock, Keller, Texas; sons, Charles, Ken, and James, all of Sulphur; a sister, Della Defosses, Bristol, N.H.; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Mitchell, Wesley, Kevin and Kenneth York Jr. and David and Michael Tilton. Honorary bearers are Victoria, Cordell and Robert York, Megan Brock, Heather Sexton and Jamie Czikra.
Clifton E. Green
OAK CREEK, Wis. -- Services for former Carter County resident Clifton E. Green, 74, were conducted March 5, 2001, in Oak Creek, Wis.
Green died March 3, 2001. He was a retired employee of the Schlitz Brewing Company.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of the home; three daughters, Karen Hahn, Wanda DeGraw, and Judith Giese; and son, Clifton, all of the Milwaukee area; and sister, Mary Boyer, Herculaneum, Mo.

Jessica Louise Shaw
Services for Jessica Louise Shaw, infant daughter of Corey and Kimberly Ann Shaw, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leo Potts officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born March 6, 2001, in Atlanta, she died March 6, 2001, in Atlanta.

Bernice Warden
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Bernice Warden, 100, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Watts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth McCarthick officiating. Interment will follow at Condon Grove Cemetery, Milburn.
Born Sept. 5, 1900, in Pecan Gap, Texas, to William Robert and Hortense Marie Boucher Morrow, she died March 10, 2001, in Tishomingo. She married William Clarence Warden on Jan. 18, 1919, in Milburn. He preceded her in death Aug. 26, 1976. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Warden had been a resident of Tishomingo since 1905. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Bullard Chapel Baptist Church and the Home Extension Club.
Survivors include sons, Jack K. Warden and W.C. Warden Jr., both Tishomingo; daughter, Dorris W. Coker-Spor, Sugar Creek, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers are Larry Warden, Tommy Boyd, Billy Morrow, Tommy Morrow, Mike Lovett and Scotty McCarthick.
Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. today. Family hour is 3 to 5 p.m. today.
Carnell Pugh
Services for Carnell Pugh, 98, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kirk Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Lawson officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Gene Autry.
Mrs. Pugh was born in Texarkana, Texas, Nov. 16, 1902. She died March 8, 2001, in a Detroit, Mich., health care facility.
She moved to Berwyn, Indian Territory, as a child and to Detroit in the 1920s. She and her husband, Isaac, owned and operated a dry cleaning business.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Bennie Ricketts
BROKEN BOW -- Services for former Ardmore resident Bennie Ricketts, 80, will be at 2 p.m. today at First Church of the Nazarene in Broken Bow. Interment will be at Broken Bow Cemetery under the direction of Brumley-McCurtain Funeral Home.
Ricketts was born Sept. 11, 1920, at Bearden. He died March 11, 2001, in a local health care facility.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired truck driver who moved here 26 years ago from Ardmore.
He is survived by his wife, the former Frances Naler, of the home; two sons, Ray and Jackie, both of Broken Bow; a brother; four sisters; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Nola Fay McDonald
KINGSTON -- Services for Nola Fay McDonald, 64, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Kingston with Clifton Dudley and Chris Webb officiating.
Born July 8, 1936, in Collin County, Texas, to Edvun Mills and Gladys Marie Calk, she died on March 8, 2001, in Madill. She married Berl McDonald on June 16, 1991. He preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1999.
She was reared in Gunter, Texas, where she graduated from high school. She moved to Kingston in 1978. She worked as a health care provider. Mrs. McDonald was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and Calvary Baptist Church in Pilot Point, Texas.
Survivors include children, Lillie Marie Parrish, Kingston, and Thomas Matthew Frizzell, Stratford, Texas; and sisters, Lola Mills, Denton, Texas, Lillie Dudley, Lebanon, Mo., Alice Gore, Denton, and Dorothy Bishop, VanAlstyne, Texas.
Bearers are Lloyd Arnold, Michael Gilbert, Lincoln Rolen, John Canoe, Jeremy Neil, Mike Stephenson, Ralph Jackson and T.K. Grady.

William 'Bill' Hugh Higgs
Services for William "Bill" Hugh Higgs, 42, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leo Potts officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born Dec. 18, 1958, in Evansville, Ind., to Charles and Loretta Farmer Higgs, he died March 6, 2001, in Bremen, Ga.
He married Margaret "Maggie" Smith on Feb. 19, 1999, at Las Vegas, Nev.
Higgs had been an Ardmore resident for the past 20 years. He had worked as a security guard for Big 5 Community Services.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; his mother, Loretta Kindle, Ardmore; two daughters, Carrie Ann Harper, Ardmore, and Rachel Higgs, Ardmore; one brother, Steve Higgs, Ardmore; one sister, Patricia Sorenson, Houston; three grandchildren, Malissa Higgs, Ashley Harper and Tyler Harper; and his best friend, Allen Kiser.
Bearers are Allen Kiser, Jack Cox, Steve Higgs, Justin Higgs, Rodney Johnson and Carl Rogers.
