Memorial services for the Rev. Dr. Don Allen Wells, 57, Ionia, Mich., will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Noble Chapel at First Presbyterian Church in Ardmore with the Rev. Rick Mills officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Wells, who died Jan. 6, 1999, was born June 1, 1941, in Ardmore.
He attended the University of the Ozarks, Clarksville, Ark., and graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1963. He was awarded a Master of Divinity degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary in 1966 and a Doctor of Ministry degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in 1984.
He had served Presbyterian churches in California, Scotland, Oklahoma, Kansas, Illinois and Cincinnati, Ohio. At the time of his death, he pastored the Lyons-Muir Federated and Easton United Methodists churches in the Ionia area.
Wells approached life with energy and a sense of humor, and enjoyed extensive travel with his family. In his ministry, he encouraged and modeled a life of personal wholeness, the development of personal God-given talents, and shared community life.
He is survived by his wife, the Rev. Marilyn "Casey" Wells; sons, David Wells, and his friend Jane Zawadowksi, of Chicago, and Kevin Kyle Dreyfuss Wells of Cleveland; his parents, Ken and Martha Harmon Wells of Ardmore; a sister, Kathy Alex De La Rose; niece, Kenna Trevor Guidry; and nephew, Robin Pace, also Ardmore; and friends across the nation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the ministry of choice or the Bostwick Fund to support seminary scholarships, c/o First Presbyterian Church, 223 Broadway, Ardmore 73401.
Arlie Stout
Funeral services for James Arlie Stout, 78, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roger Wood officiating.
The son of the late James Harrison and Laura Ada Holt Stout, he was born Sept. 11, 1920, at Holdenville, Okla., and passed away in a local hospital following an extended illness Jan. 6, 1999.
A resident of Ardmore since 1965, moving here from Sulphur, he married the former Audrey Collum in 1941, at Sulphur. He worked for Cooper Dairies and later for Gilt Edge as a wholesale milk deliverer. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons and their wives, Jim and Glenda, and Ben and Jeannie Stout, all of Oklahoma City; a sister, Emily "Shorty" Ballinger of Sulphur; a brother, Joe Stout of Ardmore; four granddaughters, Cheri Stout of Oklahoma City, Holly Stout Grimes of Las Vegas, Nev., Erin Stout Woods and Kelly Stout Thompson both of Oklahoma City; a grandson, Jace Michael Stout, Oklahoma City; and two great-grandchildren, Sawyer Michelle Woods and Parker Phillip Thompson, both of Oklahoma City. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Pershing; and a sister.

Gertha Willard
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Gertha Willard, 91, will be at 2 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Roy Carpenter officiating. Interment will be at Condon Grove Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Born June 23, 1908, at Wilson, to John and Alice J. Collins Lamb, she died Jan. 7, 1999, in the local hospital.
She had been a resident of Tishomingo since 1945, moving here from the Butcher Pen area. She retired from the grocery business and was a member of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; and a sister.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Douglas A. Drain
TALOGA -- Services for Douglas A. Drain will be at noon Sunday in the high school auditorium in Taloga. Interment will follow at Oil Springs Cemetery in Tatums.
Drain died Jan. 5, 1999, in Oklahoma City. He was born April 25, 1945, at Tatums.
Reared in Tatums, he received his degree from Langston University and served in the Army. He was employed by the federal government until he retired. He was a Baptist, a member of Masonic Lodge, O.N.A. and A.N.A.
Survivors include his wife, Gussie, of the home; two daughters, Donnita, Oklahoma City, Marie, Taloga; a son, Douglas II, Sherman, Texas; his parents, Sim and Ruth Drain, Tatums; three brothers, Sim, Stillwater, Charles, Boston, Texas, and Alphonso, Gaitersburg, Md.
Memorials may be made to Langston University Lady Lions basketball team at Langston, Okla. 73050.
Visitation will be at Shaw Funeral Home in Taloga from noon until 7 p.m. Saturday.
Hazel Royal Love
Services for Hazel Royal Love, 78, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harvey-Douglas Chapel with the Rev. Billy Smith officiating. Interment will be at Pruitt Cemetery.
Daughter of Dewith and Savanah Heathcock Richards, Mrs. Love was born Jan. 23, 1920, in Ardmore. She died Jan. 14, 1999, in the local hospital following an extended illness.
She married Otis Love here and was a lifetime resident of Ardmore. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; sons, Jerry Royal, Atlanta, Ga., Frank Royal, Carlock, Calif., Randy, Arlen and Roger Royal, Ardmore; five daughters, Frances Smith, Velma Roberts, Sandra Royal, Clara Love and DeAnna Love, all of Ardmore; two brothers, Arlin Richards, San Francisco, and Glen, California; two sisters, Irene and Willie Jewell, both of Ballico, Calif.; 29 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Bearers will be Dee Leon DeBord, Melvin Miller, Gary Caldwell, Bobby Love, Kevin and Mike Royal.
Richard T. Morris
WILSON -- Services for Richard Thomas Morris, 77, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Wilson First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Morris officiating. Interment will be at Hewitt Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
Born Oct. 20, 1921, at Tishomingo, to Benjamin F. and Irene Tutt Morris, he died Jan. 13, 1999, at his residence in Ardmore.
Reared in Tishomingo, he graduated from Murray State College and received his degree in engineering technology from Oklahoma State University. He was employed as an engineer for Halliburton International and lived in several towns and five foreign countries from 1969 until he retired in 1984. He was an Army veteran of World War II and member of VFW Post 5474. He and Gwendolyn LaVerne Davis were married Dec. 28, 1946, at Gainesville, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Glenn E., Tampa, Fla., and Mikel D., League City, Texas; a sister, Erma Welch, Mead; a brother, Vernon, Bromide; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Alan, in 1994.
Bearers will be Carl Cumpton, G.C. Roberts, Mike, Lantz and Vernon Morris. J.C. Kerr is honorary bearer.
Deborah K. Stephens
SULPHUR -- Services for Deborah Kay Stephens, 39, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cowley-Krien Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Brown officiating. Interment will be at Drake Cemetery.
Mrs. Stephens died Jan. 11, 1999, at her home. She was born July 21, 1959, at Coffeyville, Kan., to Johnnie and Janice Nickle Brown.
She moved from southern California to Sulphur in 1971, returned to California then moved back to Sulphur in 1978. She was a correctional officer.
Survivors include two sons, Jason and Matthew; and two daughters, Jamie Stephens and Amber Billings, all of Sulphur; two brothers, Bill Nickle, California, and John Ruark, Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren.
Bearers will be Thomas Weldman, Jimmy Brown, David Sweetman, Jeff Sanders, Robert and Ernie Graves.
Mary Ann Allen
SULPHUR -- Services for Mary Ann Allen, 85, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Clagg Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Green officiating. Interment will be at Troy Cemetery.
Mrs. Allen died Jan. 4, 1999, in Oklahoma City. She was born Nov. 22, 1913, at Mill Creek, to Walter and Mamie Kushatomby Seeley.
Reared in the Mill Creek area, she married Lloyd Allen in 1947 in Sulphur and moved to Oklahoma City in the early 1950s. She was a former laundry employee and member of Mary Lee Clark Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1969; a son, Glenn, in 1990; and three brothers, Walton, Joe and Leon Seeley.
Bearers will be Scott Allen, Benji Sartors, Mark and Chris Moody, Chuck Beliefeuille and Dewayne Vititow.
Vera Kirby
SULPHUR -- Services for Vera Kirby, 92, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cowley-Krien Chapel with the Rev. John Curtis officiating. Interment will be at Drake Cemetery.
Mrs. Kirby died Jan. 4, 1999, in the Ardmore hospital. She was born Aug. 14, 1906, at Caddo Creek, to Charlie and Kate Bennett Renegar.
She attended school at Chiggar Hill and Nebo and had lived in the Mill Creek, Nebo and Sulphur areas all her lifve. She married Jack Kirby Dec. 23, 1922, at Madill, and was a homemaker and a Baptist. He preceded her in death April 6, 1963.
Survivors include a son, Charlie, Stratford; three sisters, Ruby Beasley, Sulphur, Thelma Poole, Avenal, Calif., and Charlene Crissey, Garland, Texas; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Perry Allen, John Colbert, David Pittman, Daymond Cothren, Marion Collins and Horace "Speedy" Reece.
Katsuko 'Sunny' Maas
SULPHUR -- Services for Katsuko "Sunny" Maas, 67, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cowley-Krien Chapel with the Rev. Joe Campbell officiating. Interment will be private.
Born March 12, 1931, in Fukuoko, Japan, Mrs. Maas died Jan. 5, 1999.
Reared in Fukuoko, she married Clarence F. Maas there Oct. 26, 1951, and moved to America in 1952. They lived in several states before he retired from the military and they moved to Sulphur. She was a homemaker and a Buddhist.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a brother; and three sisters of Japan.
Willie 'Bill' Porterfield
RINGLING -- Graveside services for Willie "Bill" Porterfield, 87, will be at 2 p.m. today at Ringling Memorial Cemetery with Jack Browder officiating.
Porterfield died Jan. 4, 1999, in a Healdton health care facility. He was born to Henry R. and Ruth Nowlan Porterfield Oct. 13, 1911, in Jefferson County.
He lived on Mud Creek, outside Ringling, all his life and held the state discus throwing record while a student at Claypool High School. He was a former farmer, mechanic, Ringling school bus driver and later owned and operated Porterfield Garage. He and Willie ElMinia Awtery were married Oct. 21, 1935, at Ringling.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; four sons, Ray, Ringling, W.J. Jr., Cartwright, Finley D., Enid, and Richard, of the home; a daughter, Mattie M. Teague, Ardmore; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jewel Stoner Dial; and brother, Barney.

Susie L. Clem
Services for Susie Levina Clem, 91, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Harvey-Douglas Chapel with the Rev. Walt Spradling officiating. Interment will be at Crinerville Cemetery.
Born to Joe and Anna Ryker Lewis April 6, 1907, at Okemah Indian Territory, she died Jan. 4, 1999, in a local health care facility following an extended illness.
She married the Rev. Roy J. Clem May 12, 1925, at Okemah, and had lived in Ardmore since 1980. She was a member of Western Heights Pentecostal Holiness Church and attended CrystalRock Cathedral. Her husband died April 15, 1983.
Survivors include two sons, Bill, Ardmore, and Bob, Stockton, Calif.; two daughters, Mildred Pitts, Carmichael, Calif., and Pat Brawley, Lone Grove; a sister, Fern Lambeth, Okemah; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded by four sisters, Polly McFadden, Clemmie Rice, Joan and Myrtle; a brother, Jurdie Lewis; and a grandson.
Bearers will be Brad and B.J. Riggs, Eric Brawley, Larry, Tim and Richie Clem.
Mary Pierce
Services for Mary Elnora Pierce, 70, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Leroy Holman officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery in Healdton.
Mrs. Pierce died Jan. 4, 1999, in an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born to Joe and Gladys Trammell May 6, 1928, at Fox.
She began working at Lincoln Bank and Trust Company when it was founded in 1963 and was executive vice president at the time of her death.
She is survived by sons, Randy, Seminole, Texas, and Rusty, Healdton; a daughter, Deanna Martin, Houston; sisters, Jo Marston and Marlene Maloney, Tulsa, Betty Lowry, Broken Arrow, Leigh Shane, Chicago, EuLeah Hall, Duncan, and Kay Washburn, Conway, Ark.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dersie Spivey.
Bearers will be Bob Marsden, A.G. Lowry, Tom Maloney, Dewey Hall, Mark Washburn and John Sparks.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
