MARIETTA -- Services for Robert Edward Lott, 66, Ardmore, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Rubottom Cemetery.
Born Oct. 23, 1932, to Allen to Hancel and Bertha Jewel Hartsfield Lott, he died Jan. 2, 1999, at his residence. He was preceded in death by a brother, Don Lott on July 7, 1998.
Lott had lived in Ardmore since 1992, moving from Dallas. He married Betty Robertson. Lott served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked in construction and carpentry. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one son, David Lott, Leon; one daughter, Sharon Lynn Kelly, Rubottom; three brothers, Jack Lott, Phoenix, Harold Lott, Lebanon, and Jim Lott, Marietta; two sisters, Francile Robertson, Ardmore, and JoAnn Robertson, Burneyville; and nine grandchildren.
Bearers are brothers and nephews.
MANNSVILLE -- Services for Billie Jean Chaffin, 69, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Assembly of God Church with Burney Cope and Milton Murphy officiating. Interment will be at Mannsville Cemetery under the direction of Watts Funeral Home.
Mrs. Chaffin died May 9, 1998, in the Ardmore hospital. She was born Feb. 15, 1929, at Mannsville, to William F. and Sybil L. Bell James.
She was a former secretary for Ranger Plant Construction Company and a member of Mannsville United Methodist Church. She and Melvin Chaffin were married May 6, 1970, at Gainesville, Texas. She had been a resident of Sulphur since 1970.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Ronald Greene, Bethany; two daughters, Carol Wilkins, Ardmore, and Stacey Rochelle, Sulphur; two stepsons, Scott and Keith Chaffin; and stepdaughter, Janet Gray, all of Springfield, Mo.; four brothers, W.F. "Dub" James, Morrison, William, Dennis and Ricky James, Mannsville; ten grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Greene.
Bearers will be Zack Crane, Russell Watson, Dewayne Brown, Todd Crumb, Kevin Dale, Jessie, Matt and Jeff James. Honorary bearers are Stephen Chaffin, Jamie, Blake, Joe and Jerry James.
Watts Funeral Home will direct services.
HEALDTON -- Services for Phillip McManus, 75, Oakland, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Reser Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Roberts officiating. Interment will be at Mount Olive Cemetery.
McManus died May 10, 1998 in the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Ardmore. He was born March 17, 1923, at Healdton, to Jess and Kate Conner McManus.
Reared in the Waco/Corsicana, Texas areas, he served in the Army in the Pacific during World War II and married Florence Edwards in December of 1995. He worked in the oil fields in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico and had lived in Oakland since 1996. He was a member of the Church of Christ and life member of VFW, Coleman, Texas post. His wife preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Pam Sullivan, Houston; a brother, Bill, Tyler, Texas; and three grandchildren.
Bearers will be Johnny Crabb, Charles Justus, James Todd, Randy Whitsett, Don and Jim McManus.
LEBANON -- Graveside rites for Arthur Autie "Ty' Aker were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Lebanon Cemetery with Lyndol Adams officiating.
Aker died May 9, 1998, in the Ardmore hospital at the age of 82. He was born may 17, 1915, at Wanette, to Charlie and Florence Riggs Aker.
He was a former city councilman in Oklahoma City and in Warr Acers and a former member of Westside Lions Club and Siloam Masonic Lodge. He was a Texaco Service Station operator in Oklahoma City before moving to Lebanon in 1971 and becoming service manager for McCulloh Oldsmobile/Cadallic. He help design and supervisor the Lebanon Fire Department and Senior Citizens Center buildings. He and Edna Faye Cornett were married Oct. 22, 1939, in Oklahoma City.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Tommy, Madill, and Joe, Houston; a sister, Hope Hardin, Houston; three brothers, Melvin, San Jose, Calif., Chuck, Chino, Calif., and Bobby, Milwaukee, Wis.; a grandson; and two great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by a brother, W.C.; and sister, Kathleen Pickens.
Watts Funeral Home directed services.
Services for Thomas Caruthers Jobe will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church with Dr. R. Wade Paschal and the Rev. Rodney Steele officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home.
Thomas C. Jobe was born to Thomas Calhoun and Sarah Shields Jobe in Hope, Ark., May 7, 1921. He died Aug. 30, 1999, at his residence.
After graduating from Hope High School, he worked as a linotype operator until entering the Navy in 1942. He was assigned to the South Dakota and saw action in both the South Pacific and the North Atlantic. In 1944, he applied for V-12 School and was sent to the University of Oklahoma. He served for a year with his commission and returned to O.U. to earn his B.S. in geology and his M.S. in geological engineering.
Tom married Billye I. James on July 28, 1945, in Dallas.
From 1951 to 1955, he worked for Humble Oil and Refining Company (now Exxon) in Tyler, Texas, leaving there to open an office for Samedan Oil Corporation in the booming oil town of Lafayette, La.
The Jobes moved to Ardmore, Okla. in 1961, where he worked for Samedan until he retired as senior vice-president of exploration and land in 1986. He was a foreign consultant for Samedan until 1998. He continued his work in oil and gas exploration with his wife, Billye, and Bob Colston as partners. He loved his work as a geologist, both as his vocation and his hobby. He was a devoted family man and a friend to those he called friend.
He organized and served as director on the Citizens Bank & Trust board from its beginning in 1978, and a new wing on the building was named in his honor, recognizing his service on the building committee. All employees of the bank were family to him.
He will be sorely missed by his wife, Billye; his son, Mitch and his wife, Julie, of Tulsa, and their children, Jill and Jackie; his son, Mike and wife, Ann, of Houston, their children, William and Natalie; and his son, Mark of Mamoth Lakes, Calif. His loving survivors are sister-in-law, Loretta Garrett; brother-in-law, Major General W.K. James, Ret., and wife, Jo; a sister, M.J. Spillman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bearers will be Bill Dickson, Gus Hendrix, Bob Colston, Denny Mitchell, Mac McGuire, Gene Ratcliff, Tommy Craighead, George McLeod and Guy Kiker.
SULPHUR -- Services for Doyle Jack Phelps, 73, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cowley-Krien Funeral Home chapel with Dan Clark and Tom Byrd officiating. Interment will be at Connerville Cemetery.
Phelps was born Aug. 8, 1926, at Lane, to Andrew J. and Claudine Sluder Phelps. He died Aug. 29, 1999, in the local hospital.
Reared in Richmond, Calif., and Savannah, he served in the Army during World War II and returned to Lane. He lived in Connerville until 1960, then moved to Sulphur to work as manager at Delta Mining. He and Christine N. Brooks were married July 6, 1948, at Sherman, Texas. He was preceded in death by a son, Jackie Ray.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Doyle, Sulphur; a sister, Hester Hilton, Beaver; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Bearers will be Wilburn Gross, Jackie, Tommy, Carl, Jackie Neal and Ted Brooks.
Services for Jean M. Mobley, 78, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church with Dr. Douglas R. Miller officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mobley was born July 14, 1921, at Oklahoma City, to Harry and Alma C. Moyer. She died Aug. 29, 1999, in the local hospital.
After lining in Kansas City, Mo., for five years, the family moved to Ardmore, Okla. where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a graduate of Ardmore High School and in 1939, attended Mary Baldwin College at Stanton, Va. In 1940, she transferred to the University of Oklahoma where she majored in music and joined the sorority of Pi Beta Phi. She was an active, faithful member of First Christian Church where she assisted in the kindergarten department for 20 years. She was also an active member of the Ardmore Garden Club No. 2. She and Ben E. Mobley were married June 5, 1948, in Ardmore.
Survivors are her husband, of the home; a daughter, Lauren M. Harrell of San Antonio, Texas; and two grandchildren, Bret Harrell of Dallas, and Brandon Harrell of San Antonio. Other relatives, Rolene Chapman of Austin, Texas; and Dan Boone of Dahlonega, Ga.
The family wishes to express gratitude to Dr. Kevin Reed and the caring staff at Mercy Memorial Hospital, 2nd floor west.
Bearers will be Ray Shipley, Michael Hunt, Ken Milburn, Ross Coe, John P. Harrell and Fred Collins.
ADA -- Graveside rites for Thayer F. Bullard, 90, Ardmore, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada with the Rev. Bobby Price officiating.
Mrs. Bullard was born Feb. 15, 1909, in Brooken, to Elisha M. and Jennie Sexton Price. She died Aug. 29, 1999, in an Ardmore health care facility.
Reared in Brooken, she married Arthur Harrison in 1929. He died in 1937. She and Rayford Bullard were married in 1938. He died in 1984. She was ordained a Pentecostal Holiness minister in 1937 and pastored churches in Wynona, Pawhuska, Ada, Lincoln, Ark., and Tupelo.
She is survived by three sisters, Lora Monks, Quinton, Freda Gaines, Lubbock, Texas, and Oralee Gaines, Amarillo, Texas; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Harrison; and daughter, Wilma Gullart.
Criswell Funeral Home will direct services.
Graveside rites for Mattie Bell Benson will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Timothy Ball officiating.
Mrs. Benson died Feb. 15, 1997, in the local hospital. She was born May 31, 1896, at Reck, Indian Territory, to William and Melissa Martin Gold.
She married Barney Loughridge. He preceded her in death in 1932. She then married Luther Benson in 1934, in Ardmore. He died in 1968. She was a lifetime resident of Ardmore and member of Eastman Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Grace McGee and Mary V. Crosthwait, Ardmore; a son, Clinton Loughridge, Ventura, Calif.; two sisters, Nellie Riner, Ardmore, and Hester Mather, Springdale, Ark.; 16 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded by a son, William D. Loughridge.
Craddock Funeral Home will direct services.
Funeral services for Kenneth Ray Bailey will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.
Bailey died Feb. 14, 1997, in Grand Prairie, Texas. He was born April 5, 1943, at Ada.
Married to the former Margaret Dragg on July 3, 1964, in Ardmore, he retired from Southwest Electric as a motor electrician and had lived in Lewisville, Texas, the past 2Ý years, moving there from Ardmore. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret, of the home; a son, Kenneth; and daughter, Deborah Bailey, both of Lewisville; his mother, Lorene Bailey of Canton, Texas; three brothers, Richard, also of Canton, Robert of Corsicana, Texas, and Thomas of Cedar Hill, Texas; a sister, Fran Latham of Austin, Texas; and granddaughter, Sarah James of Lewisville. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rene Hull, in 1995; and by his father, Walter S. Bailey.
WILLIS -- Graveside rites for Robert Russell Neasbitt, 77, were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Willis Cemetery with Malon Ward officiating.
Neasbitt died Feb. 14, 1997, in the Madill hospital. He was born Oct. 29, 1919, at Kingston, to Manna Preston and Sarrah Burris Neasbitt.
Reared at Rocky Point, he had lived in Marshall County all his life and worked as a contractor and farmer. He was a member of Enos House of Prayer. He and Viviana Williams were married on Sept. 15, 1938, in Marshall County. She preceded him in death on Oct. 17, 1988.
Survivors include a son, Russell, Kingston; four daughters, Joyce Waggoner, Madill, Ginger Moore, N.V. Lindamood and Delilah Arterberry, Kingston; three sisters, Ozella Stafford, Burkburnett, Texas, Edna Risinger and Ida Lee Bearden, Kingston; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

ADA -- Services for Clifford Dale Knutson, 67, will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada. Interment will follow at Pooleville Cemetery.
Knutson died Feb. 16, 1997, in the Ada hospital. He was born Aug. 2, 1929, at Pooleville.
He was a retired drilling superintendent for Sun Oil Co. He and Anna Lee Morgan were married Jan. 12, 1951. She died March 13, 1977. He and Judith Sox were married in July of 1982, in Ada.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Richard, Holdenville, Steve, Francis, and Milton, Waurika; two daughters, Diana Kelley, Waurika, and Cynthia Knutson, of the home; a brother, Shelton, Countyline; four sisters, Ollie Scala, Monroe, N.Y., Nancy Fulton, Davis, Brenda Hall and Geraldine Hughes, Oklahoma City; three stepsons, Robert Northam, Ada, Richard Northam, Fort Worth, Texas, and Raymond Northam, Muskogee; 12 grandchildren; and 12 stepgrandchildren.
Services for Lieutenant McKerson will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the C.M.E. Church, Q Street SE, with Willie Jean Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Clearview Cemetery under the direction of Ragsdale-Grant and Sons Mortuary.
McKerson was born April 9, 1914, at Sherman, Texas, to Richmond and Flossie McKerson. He died Feb. 14, 1997, in a local health care facility.
He spent most of his life in Ardmore where he owned and operated McKerson's B.B.Q. Grill on East Main Street. He was a lifetime member of Holbert Chapel C.M.E. Church where he served as steward and treasurer until his illness. He was also a member of American Legion Post 264 and served as commander for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Johnnie Bell Turman; and three sisters, Gladys Thompson, Irene Franks and Janette Treece.
He is survived by four brothers, Everette, Stockton, Calif., Hayward, Edina, Minn., Richard Charles, Oklahoma City, and Alfred, Ardmore.
