MADILL -- Services for Robert Lynn Sparlin, 50, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Madill Church of Christ with Brother Richard Jones officiating. Interment will be in the Woodberry Cemetery.
Born July 23, 1946, in Gladewater, Texas, to Arbra and Connie Sparlin, he died March 20, 1997.
Mr. Sparlin was raised in Wichita Falls, Texas, later moved to Fort Worth, Texas, and then to Madill in 1976. He worked for Oklahoma Steel and Wire 12 years and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Lan Arbra Sparlin, Madill; one daughter, Amanda Pate, Dallas, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Bearers will be Bruce Williams, Scott Gipson, Byron Self, Ernest Gray, Jerry Green and Chad Selvy.
The Watts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Gratha Oneta Timmons, 79, Pontotoc, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Pontotoc Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe Howry officiating. Interment will be in Pontotoc Cemetery.
Born March 12, 1918, in Coalgate, to John Washington and Mary Ella Grimes Edwards, she died March 22, 1997, in her home.
Mrs. Timmons was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist Church. She married Elbert Timmons in Connerville. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include six daughters, Delthia Gove, Pontotoc, Betty Hargis, Madill, Rhonda Atterbery, Tishomingo, Genevia Byrd, Stonewall, Dennia Burke, Oklahoma City, and Louise McClain, Ada; six sons, William Timmons, of the home, Richard Timmons, Oklahoma City, Gerald Timmons, Ringling, Andrew Timmons and Leonard Timmons, both of Pontotoc, and Paul Timmons, Fittstown. She is preceded in death by an infant daughter and a grandson.
Services are under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home, Tishomingo.
Services for Luther A. "Buck" Ward, 67, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Smee officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Born to Andrew Jackson and Mabel Lee Sullivan Ward July 16, 1929, at Tahoka, Texas, he died March 20, 1997, in a local hospital.
Mr. Ward spent his life working in the oilfields of Oklahoma, Alaska and off shore, mainly with the Noble, Parker and Thomas Drilling Companies. He retired in 1990. He married Joy Ashcraft Oct. 30, 1949, in Wilson.
Survivors include his wife, Joy, of the home; a daughter, Nicole Ward, of the home; three sons, Verline Gene Ward, Lone Grove, Donald Lee Ward and Dana Andrew Ward, both of Ardmore; two sisters, Bessie Cartwright, Morton, Texas, and Jessie Norvell, Andrews, Texas; three brothers, Eric Ward, Marietta, Bill Ward, Macomb, and Billy Jack Ward, Ardmore; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a grandson.
Bearers will be Vernon Denney, Kenneth Raines, Lester Ford, Robert Layton, James Layton and Keith Blankenship.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Services for Dorothy Lois Biles will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will be at Woodberry Forest Cemetery in Madill.
Mrs. Biles was born to the late William and Evelyn Gray on June 18, 1914, at Mill Creek. She died March 23, 1997, in the local hospital.
She married Griffin Biles on Nov. 2, 1934, at Durant. He preceded her in death in 1993. Mrs. Biles was a retired teacher, having taught in the Madill School System and taught music at the Lincoln Elementary School in Ardmore. She had lived in Ardmore since 1956, moving here from Madill, and was a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Phil Biles, and his wife, Vivian, of Sulphur; a daughter, Joyce Burns, and her husband, Jack, of Ardmore; two sisters, Mary McWha of Denton, Texas, and Ruth Meredith of Ardmore; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Craig McMurry, Dale Hull, Dan Pool, Angelo Rizzo, Brent Love, Jim Gray and Bill McWha.
Services will be under the direction of Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.
Graveside rites for Jimmy Lee John, 46, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Concord Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Williams officiating.
Born Aug. 31, 1950, at Talihina, John died March 21, 1997, at his home.
He was a self-employed construction worker. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Nelle Stick, in 1993; his mother, Vella John, in 1993; and daughter, Maraethian John.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Jr. and Jonathan; four daughters, Deanna, Tammy, Samantha and Kimberly John; and stepson, Kevin Stick, all of Oklahoma City; a stepdaughter, Quenna Stick, Ada; his father, Andy John, Ardmore; two brothers, Audie, Ardmore, and Donnie, Seattle; three sisters, Aneda Perez, Ardmore, Anita John, Ardmore, and Irma Ned, Oklahoma City.
Bearers will be Loyd Kilcrease, Bill Stick, Mond Davis, Alfred Bob, Darren Meeley and Joe Roberts.
Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home will direct services.
MARIETTA -- Graveside rites for Charlene C. Pruett, 51, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lakeview Cemetery with Robert Hudgins officiating.
Mrs. Pruett died March 23, 1997, in the local hospital. She was born June 27, 1945, at Eastman, to J.D. and Leatrice Smith Palmer.
A resident of Love County since 1962, moving here from California, she was a factory worker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her mother; and a brother, Charles Hull.
Survivors include two sisters, Cathy Lehman, Burneyville, and Delona Goodwin, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; and half brother, Payton Palmer, Marietta.
Bearers will be Wayne Baird, Victor Thompson, Bobby and Harold Stinson, Chuck and Johnny Hartman Jr.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 this evening at Kennedy Funeral Home.
DAVIS -- Services for Gary Lynn Schilling will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Lonny Lee officiating. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
Schilling died March 24, 1997, in Ardmore. He was born July 12, 1954, at Wynnewood.
He had lived in Davis all his life and was a former teacher of history and speech at Davis Public Schools. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Allen Schilling, in 1965.
He is survived by his mother, Lula Stevens Schilling, of the home.
Bearers will be Dale Noland, Mark Melton, Dr. Linda Besett, Mary Reaves Fulton, Jim Clemons, Jerry D. and Gary D. Fullerton.
ALTUS -- Services for former Ardmore resident Dorthy Imagene Stewart, 64, were Friday at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home chapel in Altus. Interment was at Altus Cemetery.
Mrs. Stewart died March 19, 1997. She was born July 22, 1932, at Burneyville, to Claude and Mavis Kerr Walden.
She married Jack Stewart July 24, 1954, at Ringling, and they moved from Ardmore to Altus in 1959.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a daughter, Debbie Hill, Altus; three brothers, Paul Walden, Utah, Carl Walden, Oklahoma City, and Walter Walden, Wichita, Kan.; three sisters, Peggy Reed, Ardmore, Rebecca Strawn, Oklahoma City, and Linda Shade, Loveland, Colo.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
BESSIE -- Graveside rites for Hannah Marie Jantz, Ardmore, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bessie Cemetery, south of Clinton. The Rev. Clarence Baalson will officiate.
Mrs. Jantz died March 22, 1997, in a local health care facility. She was born Jan. 30, 1906, at Bessie, Indian Territory, to Phillip and Catherine Heintz.
She moved from Clinton to Ardmore in 1977. She was a Lutheran.
She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Wells, Ardmore; two sisters, Flora Ritchie, Tulare, Calif., and Clara Kock, Kansas City, Kan.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home will direct services.
DAVIS -- Services for June Rainbolt were scheduled for 3:30 p.m. today at Fox Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Finis Steelman and Dr. David Eggenberg officiating. Interment was at Green Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Rainbolt died March 24, 1997, in an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born May 26, 1919, at Stephenville, Texas, to June and Lillian Jackson Kimble.
A graduate of Texas Christian University and Julliard School of Music, she was a music teacher and had lived in Davis since 1971. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She and Elmo Rainbolt were married April 4, 1943, in New York City.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; three daughters, Cindy Scola, Howell, N.J., Lucy Bennett, Las Vegas, and Jo Ann Rainbolt, Oklahoma City; a son, Richard, Reynosa, Mexico; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Bill, in 1994.
Bearers were Miles Judkins, Jerry Fullerton, Randy and Taylor Moore, Royce D. and Sammie Jones. Honorary bearers are Dub Moore and Everett Carter.
MADILL -- Services for Cleo P. Ratliff, 88, were scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Watts Memorial Chapel with Jerrell and Sherry Heath officiating. Interment was at Woodberry Forest Cemetery.
Mrs. Ratliff died March 23, 1997, in the local hospital. She was born Dec. 21, 1908, at Asher.
Reared at Asher, she married Lewis Ratliff at Chandler in 1935, and they lived at Kingston for many years. She was a member of Kingston United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Kingston; a sister, Iona Stoolz, Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Bill "Corky," in 1995.
Bearers were Irwin Herndon, Sandy Dillow, Monroe Barwick, Darrin Shipp, Lance and Al Davis.
SULPHUR -- Services for Belva Marie Walker, 74, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Clagg Funeral Home chapel with Dale Kuechenmeister officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker died March 25, 1997, in Sulphur. She was born June 3, 1922, in Marietta, to Arthur W. and Matilda K. Brown Webb.
She was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She and Robert Lee Walker were married Dec. 26, 1944, at Pauls Valley. He preceded her in death Aug. 12, 1982.
She is survived by three sons, Henry L., Sulphur, Gary D., Durant, and Jeff E., Healdton; two sisters, Mary Capper, Pauls Valley, and Retta Chatham, Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jessie Webb; and sister, Etta Banks.
HEALDTON -- Services for Ed Walker, 65, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Pat Maniscalco officiating. Interment will be Friday at Walnut Valley Memorial Park in El Dorado, Kan., with graveside rites by the El Dorado Masonic Lodge.
Walker died March 24, 1997, in the Ardmore hospital. He was born July 18, 1931, at El Dorado, to Warren P. and Grace McCollum Walker.
He served with the Army during the Korean War and married Nancy Schlink Feb. 16, 1957, in El Dorado. They lived in Norman and Oklahoma City before moving to Healdton in 1962. He was an oil field supply salesman, a member of First Christian Church and served as worshipful master in Healdton Masonic Lodge. He had also been a commander in Healdton VFW and served several terms on the city council.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Warren A., Hobbs, N.M.; a daughter, Carone Sparks, Inserlick Air Force Base, Turkey; a brother, Bert, Vancouver, Wash.; a sister, Rose M. Long, Wilson; and five grandchildren.
Bearers will be Warren Waker, Chris Sparks, Bill Carlisle, Kenneth Glenn, Clarence and Lester Stewart.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church.
