Funeral services for Jack Ross, 72, will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church conducted by Dr. Wade Paschal and the Rev. Dan Patman. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Son of the late Raymond George and Ruth Mae Brown Ross, Jack was born Jan. 24, 1925, at Three Sands, Okla. He died April 7, 1997, in an Oklahoma City hospital after a brief illness.
He graduated from Anadarko High School and attended the University of Oklahoma until receiving a congressional appointment to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, Long Island, N.Y. where he received his bachelor of science degree in marine engineering. He then received his graduate degree in navigation and astronomy from Stanford University.
A lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World II, he was wounded in action during the naval battle of the Leyte Gulf. In two tours of the Korean War, he was the commanding officer of the minesweeper USS Heron and the destroyer escort USS Bobolink. Following his military service he was master mate and pilot for the Lykes Brothers Lines of New York City and New Orleans.
A sales representative for Hughes Tool Co. for 20 years, he was also an agent with Allstate Insurance until retiring in 1989. As a member of First United Methodist Church, he was a Sunday school teacher and involved in the Scouting program for youth of the church.
A member of Masonic Lodge No., 31, AF&AM, he was a 32nd degree Mason in the Guthrie Consistory, and served as adviser to the Ardmore Chapter of Demolay. He served twice as president of the Southern Oklahoma Association of Life Underwriters and was a class instructor.
He and Barbara Barry were married Aug. 6, 1955, at Wichita Falls, Texas. They moved from Pauls Valley to Ardmore.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of the home; two sons, Barry Raymond Ross, Ardmore, and David Emory Ross, Turlock, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Vicki Ross; and granddaughter, Brandi, of Ardmore. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Alan Ross, Aug. 5, 1969.
Serving as bearers will be Joe Bruton, Dan Roberson, Burt McAnally, Randall McAllister, David Elliott, Joe and Gary Campbell. Honorary bearers include Gene Johnson, Charlie Miller, Raymond Helms, Tim Berryhill, Johnny Vinson, John Hart, Gene Fair, all associates and co-workers.

Services for Betty Lou White, 63, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Hector officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. White died April 7, 1997, in the local hospital after an extended illness. She was born to William K. and Mary M. White Coffey Aug. 13, 1933, at Shawnee.
A resident of Ardmore since 1983, she attended Westgate Christian Center and was a member of the Ardmore Alcoholics Anonymous. She and Henry Doyle White were married Feb. 14, 1987, in Ardmore.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; four daughters, Betty L. Wyre, Silverdale, Wash., Stella M. Taylor, Mustang, Ima L. Johnson, Sanger, Texas, and Tammy L. Blackwell, Lone Grove; two sons, Robert Smith, Newalla, and Andre Behmke, Elk City; two sisters, Dorothy Santifer and Loraine Hernupont, Oklahoma City; 13 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
PURCELL -- Graveside rites for Janice C. Tate Woods, 49, Davenport, Iowa, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell with Bob Smee officiating.
Mrs. Woods died April 6, 1997, in a Davenport hospital. She was born April 1, 1948, in Memphis, Tenn.
She graduated from Purcell High School in 1996 and married Rocky Woods Jan. 20, 1989, in Memphis. She was a former legal secretary and was more recently employed at the Big Apple Bagel Shop in Davenport.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a daughter, Stephanie Olmstead, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a son, Dan, Davenport; her mother, Ruby Tate; and sister, Judy Tate, Ardmore; and brother, Johnny Tate, Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. John L. Tate.

ATOKA -- Services for Don Everette Lewis, 52, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Brown's Funeral Service chapel, Atoka, with the Rev. Bob Cunningham officiating. Interment will be at the Bowen family cemetery near Wardville.
Lewis died April 7, 1997, at his home near Davis. He was born July 28, 1944, at Atoka.
Reared in Ardmore, he graduated from Ardmore High School in 1962, attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated from City College in New York City. He taught at the Art Institute in New York a few years, then was an artist for the Jakel Corporation many years before he retired in July 1996 and returned to Oklahoma.
Survivors include his father, Denver Lewis, Calera; his mother, Ruby Long Lewis; and sister, Judith Leatherbury, Davis; and two brothers, Timothy, Ardmore, and Don, Coalgate.
Bearers will be Gene Pollock, Albert Downs, Kenneth R. Byers, Randell Reed, Lou Dirusso, Jorg Dreisorner and Helene Kierulf.
LEON -- Services for Bill A. Holland, 65, Burneyville, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Leon Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interment will be at Leon Cemetery.
Holland died April 7, 1997, at his home. He was born May 18, 1931, in Love County, to Alvin and Maggie McBride Holland.
A resident of Love County most of his life, he was a concrete contractor and member of Leon Baptist Church. He and Edna Tankersley were married Aug. 4, 1953, in Phoenix, Ariz. He was preceded in death by an infant son; three sisters, Juanita Parker, Ada Robinson and Alvie Holland; and a brother, Melton.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Robert, Burneyville; three daughters, Kaye Tubre', Burneyville, Pamela Floyd and Gracie Splawn, Ardmore; a brother Jack, Burneyville; three sisters, Lois Studeman, Marietta, Burnice Berry, Falconhead, and Geneva Strickland, Bakersfield, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.
Bearers will be Darrell Holland, Jerry Putman, Mike and Pat Parker, Charles Hudson and Jimmy Johnson. Honorary bearers are Lyndon Parker, Gerald Bond and Bo Gilbert.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Kennedy Funeral Home, Marietta.
Services for Johnnie Pierce Bennett will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Craddock Memorial Chapel with Roy Hannah officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Bennett died April 9, 1997, in the local hospital. She was born March 14, 1904, at Elk, Indian Territory, to John C. and Lula Stern Pierce.
She married Patrick Bennett Nov. 16, 1923, at Pooleville, and had lived in Ardmore since 1936. She was a member of Maxwell Avenue Church of Christ. Her husband preceded her in death June 27, 1990.
She is survived by a daughter, Bobbye Crane, Dallas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Brad Crane, Ralph Courtney, Bo Fore, Bill Bowden, John Wilkes and Ken Wiley.
Memorial services for V. Jean Hollingsworth will be at 6 this evening at Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Chapel with John Lewis officiating. Interment was at 3 p.m. April 10, 1997, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler, Texas.
Mrs. Hollingsworth died April 10, 1997, in the local hospital. She was born Feb. 25, 1912, to Ernest and Cora Campbell.
She married Kenneth McCray Hollingsworth Jan. 9, 1941, in Tyler, where she was a longtime member of the Glenwood Church of Christ. Her husband preceded her in death in June 1991.
She is survived by two sons, Kenneth, Ardmore, and Larry, Dallas; and three grandsons.

DAVIS -- Graveside services for Cody Glenn Eaves will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Green Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Finis Steelman officiating.
He died April 9, 1997, along with his great-grandmother, Viola K. Eaves, and great-uncle, Roy Eaves, following an auto accident five miles west of Davis. He was born March 12, 1992, in Ardmore.
He is survived by his mother, Shawnda Eaves, of the home; his grandparents, Ricky and Lori Eaves, McAlester; and great-great-grandmother, Forthie A. Hobbs, Davis.

Eaves died April 9, 1997, along with his mother, Viola, and great-nephew, Cody, following an auto accident five miles west of Davis. He was born July 12, 1954, at Wynnewood.
He had lived in Davis all his life and was an oil field worker. His father was the late Earl Eaves.
Survivors include three sons, Joseph E., Sulphur, Russell G. and Shannon R., Davis; a sister, Linda Kennedy, Durant; three brothers, Ricky, McAlester, David and Dean, Davis; and grandmother, Forthie Hobbs, Davis.

Mrs. Eaves died April 9, 1997, along with her son, Roy, and great-grandson, Cody, in an auto accident five miles west of Davis. She was born March 2, 1930.
She had lived in Davis all her life and was the widow of Earl Eaves, who died in 1959. She was also preceded in death by her father, George Hobbs. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Kennedy, Durant; three sons, Ricky, McAlester, David and Dean, Davis; two brothers, John I. Hobbs, Bokchito, and H.M. Hobbs, Davis; her mother, Forthie A. Boling Hobbs, Davis; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

CRINERVILLE -- Graveside services for Cecil Charley Bollen, 79, were scheduled at 3 p.m. today at the Crinerville Cemetery with the Revs. Claud Williams and Dwight Hawkins officiating.
Bollen died April 10, 1997, in the Ardmore hospital. He was born March 15, 1918, at Marsden, to Charley and Myrtle Talley Bollen.
A lifelong resident of the Marsden community, he served in the South Pacific with the Navy during World War II, and was a retired partner of Ardmore Plumbing Supply Co. He was a member of Marsden Baptist Church, VFW and Masonic Lodge 31. He was preceded in death by a brother, Junior; sister, Pat Armstrong; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife, Marie, of the home; two sons, Dale, Marsden, and Larry, Bellville, Texas; two daughters, Dorothy Hearell, Burneyville, and Janice McNeil, Marsden; three sisters, Elva Nevill, Marsden, Auda Laningham and Mable Clayburn, Ardmore; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Ardmore native Rex Sparger, 64, died April 9, 1997, at the veterans hospital in Tucson, Ariz. No services are scheduled.
Sparger, born April 20, 1933, was reared in Ardmore, where he worked in his family's restaurants. He attended George Washington University. While on active duty in Germany, he was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives, 1956-1960, serving two terms. He headed the state Office of Economic Opportunity and was one of the authors of Oklahoma's Merit System, the Central Purchasing Act, the District Attorney Legislation and Repeal of Prohibition. Simultaneously with his legislative service, he was a journalist and sports editor of The Daily Ardmoreite as well as executive secretary of the Oklahoma Young Democrats. He was later associate editor of The Oklahoma Journal, the nation's first major offset daily newspaper.
Sparger was an author and worked in television at Screen Gems and developed promotional methods for Dick Clark's productions. He was tracking the first Stars and Stripes at the time of his death and believed the actual flag still exists.
He is survived by three children, Tiger, Ricky and Robin.
Services for Denetta Ann Agan, 41, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born June 22, 1955, at Ardmore, she died April 10, 1997, south of Elmore City.
Ms. Agan lived in the Ardmore area all of her life. She was of the Holiness faith.
Survivors include her parents, Chester and Ruby Mae Agan; one son, Coy Ray Agan, Ardmore; one daughter, Chanlyn Rae Brown, Ardmore; two brothers, Waylon Agan and Chester Laven Agan, both Ardmore; three sisters, Lanita Williams, Heavener, Jayna VanBuskirk, Lone Grove, and Becky Harris, Lewisville, Texas; and two grandsons.
Bearers are Jerry Corbet, Gene Cormiea Jr., Gene Cormiea Sr., Joe Farve, Dennis Lone and J.D. Balthrop. Honorary bearers are Ive Henson and Charley Tanner.
