DAVIS -- Services for Dorothy J. "Dottie" McKay will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Center Church with the Rev. Jerry Lemley officiating. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
Mrs. McKay died June 5, 1997, in Norman. She was born Oct. 27, 1944, at Abilene, Texas.
A resident of Davis the past eight years, she was a secretary and bookkeeper for Gordon White Lumber Co. and member of the Faith Center Church. She and Al McKay were married March 1, 1997, in Sulphur.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; two daughters, Connie Nabours, Temple, Texas, and Terri Benn, Ardmore; two sons, Greg Harrell, Davis, and Chad Chambers, Oklahoma City; stepdaughters, Laquita Hawkins, Sulphur, and Melanie Cody, Tucson, Ariz.; stepson, Alan McKay, Sulphur; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Graveside rites for Jeffrey Lynn Owens, 43, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rose Hill Cemetery with Dr. Douglas Miller officiating.
Born Jan. 28, 1954, in Ardmore to Glenn and Lois May Owens, he died June 4, 1997, at his Princeton, N.J. residence. He was preceded in death by his mother on Oct. 21, 1991.
Owens had lived in Princeton for three months, moving there from Vancouver, Wash. He was employed by Doubletree Hotels as a computer analyst.
Survivors include his father, Ardmore; two brothers, Charles Owens, Lewisville, Texas, and Wesley Owens, U.S. Naval Station, Scott Field, Ill.
Services are under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Joe Carr Kemp, 72, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Interment, including military honors, will follow at Tishomingo Cemetery.
Born Feb. 4, 1925, at Tishomingo to Raymond and Mamie Huches Kemp, he died at his home in Tulsa. He married Lela Turner on Nov. 22, 1947, at Gainesville, Texas. She preceded him in death on Aug. 25, 1995.
Kemp was a member of the United Methodist Church, Gilcrease Museum, Chickasaw Historical Society, American Indian Cultural Society, and the Five Civilized Tribes Museum. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandie Woest, Jerreau. La.; one brother, Charles Kemp, Joplin, Mo.; two sisters, Betty Kemp, Norman, and Peggy Barrett, Leavenworth, Kan.; three granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.
MADILL -- Services for George Huebsch, 86, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Watts Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with John Carter and Larry Holder officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
Born Aug. 24, 1910 at Anna, Texas, he died June 5, 1997, at a Madill hospital after several years of failing health.
Huebsch lived most of his life in Marshall County, moving with his parents age at 2. He married Myrtle Kay Savage on Nov. 19, 1932, at Durwood. Huebsch was a farmer and rancher most of his adult life. He was a member of the Oakview Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one son, George Fredrick Huebsch, Madill; one brother, Bill Huebsch, Madill; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Bearers are A.J. Lollis, Peyton Minter, Dexter Mitchell, Dan Orr, Ricky Clark and Philip Edinberg. Honorary bearers are W.Y. Spence, Wayland Hughes, Eual Adkins, Earl Boomer, Ralph Brown and Jack Pickens.
SULPHUR -- Graveside rites for H.B. "Butch" Wells, 60, Arpelar, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Oaklawn Cemetery with the Rev. Bert Patterson officiating.
Born Jan. 29, 1937, at Pauls Valley to George Embry and Dovie Bell Hannah Wells, he died June 6, 1997, at McAlester. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, O.T. and Johnnie Wells.
Well grew up in the Sulphur-Hickory area. He attended school at Hickory. For the past 20 years he had lived in the Stuart-Arpelar area. Wells married Mary Santine on May 4, 1988, at Arpelar. He was self-employed. Wells was a member of the Nazarene Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one sister, Frona Waters, Chelsa; two brothers, Paul L. Wells, Sulphur, and George A. Wells, Lovington, N.M.
Services are under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
HENNEPIN -- Graveside rites for Sylvia Tice, 83, Ardmore, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hennepin Cemetery with Dr. Virgil Trout officiating.
Born April 16, 1914, at Montague, County, Texas, to Frank Wesley and Minnie Violia Meed Ashton, she died June 6, 1997, at an Ardmore hospital. She married Clayton Burl Tice. He preceded her in death in 1973. She was also preceded in death by a son, Douglas Burl Tice, 1986; and a daughter, Dorothy Christine Tice.
Mrs. Tice moved to the Ardmore and Hennepin areas in 1947 from Sanger, Texas. She was a housewife and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one daughter, Patsy Trout, Lone Grove; two sons, Charles Tice, Ardmore, and Lynn Tice, Stratford; one sister, Alma Pettigrew, Bowie, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home, Sulphur.
WHITESBORO, Texas -- Services for Ira Gilbert Myers, 88, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Huff Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Roy Spore officiating. Interment will follow at 4 p.m. at Hewitt Cemetery, Wilson.
Born April 24, 1909, to Mr. and Mrs. John R. Myers, he died June 6, 1997, at a Dallas hospital.
Myers married Alta Maud MacCendon on May 22, 1931. He retired as a production superintendent for Skelly Oil Company after 30 years of services. Myers was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one son, Jerry Meyers, Midland, Texas; one daughter, Nancy Kite, Lake Kowa, Texas; two brothers, Boyce Myers, Maryland, and John R. Myers Jr., Reno, Nev.; one sister, Virgie Mary Whitsitt, Monahans, Texas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be grandsons.
DAVIS -- Services for Barbara Ann Duke were scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Fox Funeral Home with the Rev. Finis Steelman officiating.
Mrs. Duke died June 6, 1997, at her home. She was born May 23, 1968, in Oklahoma City.
She attended school in Davis and was married to John Clinton Duke Feb. 14, 1988, at Atoka. They returned to Davis a year ago.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Cheyennea; and two sons, Ethan and Cody, all of the home; her parents, Bob and Audrey Davenport, Davis; four brothers, Eddie Davenport, Pauls Valley, Larry Davenport, Harlingen, Texas, Mike Davenport, Norman, and Kevin Davenport, Springer.
MADILL -- Services for Bernice Watson, 63, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Watts Memorial Chapel with Stan Groves officiating. Interment will be at Woodberry Forest Cemetery.
Mrs. Watson died June 6, 1997, in an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born April 16, 1934, at Woodville, to Tom and Lesline Bryant Nelson.
A resident of Madill since age 2, she was a homemaker and Jehovah's Witness. She and Trenton Loyd Watson were married Sept. 22 1951, at Madill.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; three sons, Robert N., Dallas, Nelson E. and Trenton Jr., Arlington, Texas; two sisters, Eather Harvey and Edna Mae Byars, Madill; and six grandchildren.
Bearers will be Doug Seals, Jeff Watson, Jimmy Nelson, Howard Wilson, Robert Gordon, Darryl Fields, Chris and Charles Byars.
RINGLING -- Services for Roy E. Tripp, 89, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. J.W. Ray officiating. Interment will be at Grady Cemetery, Grady.
Tripp died June 7, 1997, in a local health care facility after an extended illness. The son of Henry L. and Effie Craze Tripp, he was born Dec. 9, 1907, at Spanish Fort, Texas, and moved with his family to Grady.
Married to Lora Bell Rich Oct. 23, 1927, at Ringling, they lived in Grady until World War II then moved to Oklahoma City where they worked for Douglas Aircraft Co., returning to Ringling after the war. He was a barber and school bus driver in Grady and Ringling. He was a member of Cornish Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include two sons, Leland D., Bryant, Texas, and Wilbur N., Ringling; two brothers, Raymond, Wellston, and Calvin, Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife on March 14, 1993; a brother, Narvel; two sisters, Bertha Prescott and Mildred Doyal; and a great-granddaughter.
Bearers will be Stanley Watkins, Rick Gandy, Allen Wade, Mark Morris, Bill Stroud and Joe Roberts.
Reser Funeral Home will direct services.
KINGSTON -- Services for William Howard Lockert, 82, were scheduled for 1 p.m. today at the Church of Christ with Benny Keck officiating. Interment will be at Kingston Cemetery under the direction of Watts Funeral Home.
Lockert died June 6, 1997, at his home in Oklahoma City. He was born May 8, 1915, at Saline, Ark., to Charles and Mae Lockert.
He moved to Oklahoma City from Arkansas in 1928 and was married to Irene Dudley on March 17, 1936. They lived in Kingston 16 years before recently returning to Oklahoma City. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Anita Arp and Pat Smith; a brother; seven sisters; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Floyd; and sister, Esther.
Bearers were Ed Fuller, Marty Price, Sandy Dillow, Irwin Herndon, R.L. Lemmons and Norman Hamilton.
DICKSON -- Services for Sandra Kay Gunter Crump will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dickson First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Lonas officiating. Interment will follow at Provence Cemetery.
Born April 20, 1949, at Ringling, to Delbert R. and Pearl Smith Gunter, Mrs. Crump died June 7, 1997, at her home after a lengthy illness.
Married to George Crump in February in 1973 at Weleetka, she had been a resident of the Ardmore area most of her life and had worked as a beauty operator. She was a member of Wetumka Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; and two sons, Will and George Jr., all of Wetumka; three sisters, Pearline Neel, Fort Townsend, Bobbie Walker, Wilson, and Judy Grider, Ardmore; brothers, Delbert Gunter, Fillmore, Calif., Gordon "Butch" Gunter, Terrall, Texas, Charles "Choc" Gunter, Ardmore, and Donald Smith, Lone Grove; stepfather, Jack Smith, Ardmore; and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Billie Britt and LaVera Pace; and a brother, Joe Smith.
Bearers will be Kelly Sadler, Ron Bloomfield Jr., Harold Pace, James Smith, Dewayne and Cody Gunter. Honorary bearers will be nieces.
Craddock Funeral Home will direct services.
RINGLING -- Services for Edith Inez Eubanks, 81, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. J.W. Ray officiating. Interment will be at Ringling Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
Mrs. Eubanks died June 8, 1997, in the Ardmore hospital. She was born April 1, 1916, at Deval, to John W. and Pearl Martin Coker.
Reared at Deval, she married J.D. Eubanks in 1933 and was employed at the Norman State School before she retired in 1975 and moved to Ringling. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989; three sisters, Pauline Coker, Ruth Champin and Shirley Usher; and three brothers, Clarence, June and Lester Coker.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmie and Wayne, Ringling; a brother, Donald Coker, Whitesboro, Texas; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Bearers will be Johnny Dewbre, Sammy Briscoe, Kevin and J.D. Eubanks.
SULPHUR -- Services for Jewell Elizabeth Sanders, 89, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Clagg Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Swain officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Sanders died June 9, 1997, in Sulphur. She was born April 27, 1908, at Caddo, to John and Eva D. Chesney Rutherford.
A resident of Sulphur most of her life, she was a retired employee of the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Sulphur and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She and V.W. Sanders were married in Sulphur. He died in 1966.
Survivors include a son, Fred Reece, Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Floyd and L.H. Rutherford, Modesto, Calif.; and three grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Reece.
