Funeral services for Milton E. "Whit" Whitson will be at 2 p.m. today in the Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Chapel with the Rev. David Gardner officiating. Burial will be at McAlester Cemetery, near Overbrook.
Milton was born Aug. 10, 1925, at Ardmore, to Robert and Izora Grounds Whitson. He passed from this life on Jan. 24, 1999, in the local hospital at the age of 73 years, five months and 14 days after battling Alzheimer's and Parkinson's for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond and Ovie; and four sisters, Ruby Phillips, Lela Buck, Eva Culley and Lena Rose Pulliam.
He married Thelma Jane Adams on Feb. 19, 1979, at Gainesville, Texas. Milton retired from Total Petroleum Co. of Ardmore on Jan. 31, 1989, after 37 years. He was a heavy equipment operator. He had lived in Ardmore all his life and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma, of the home; three sons, Eddie, Warren and Kelly Whitson of Ardmore; a daughter, Linda Williams and her husband, Bill, of New Braunfels, Texas; two stepchildren, Rickey Dean Adams and his wife, Tammie, and Le Ann Adams of Ardmore; three grandchildren, James Smith, Ty Garrett Whitson and Rickey Rae Adams; a brother, Odie Whitson of Ardmore; and a sister, Gladys Muse of Lone Grove.
Pallbearers will be Val Gene Jones, Kenneth Hensley, Kenneth Moss, Bruce Smith, Kenneth Miller and Freman Blankenship. Honorary bearers will be past and present co-workers at Total Petroleum Co. and Bobby Groomer.
Services for Zora Mae Almon, 71, will be at 2 p.m. today at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Custar officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Born to I.L. and Ola Jackson Garrison Nov. 7, 1927, at Madill, Mrs. Almon died Jan. 25, 1999, in the local hospital.
A resident of the Ardmore area most of her life, she married Thomas M. Almon March 1, 1946, at Madill, and worked for Ardmore Cleaners as a silk finisher. She was president of Disabled American Veterans and member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Nov. 1, 1968; and a brother, J.R., in 1982.
Survivors include a son, Thomas A., Shawnee; daughter, Brenda K. Watson, Durant; two sisters, Ivarene Brown, Durwood, and Lula Faye Sprouse, Oakland; two brothers, Doyle Garrison, Oakland, and Roy Garrison, Madill; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Larry Garrison, Albert Self, Gary, David, Terry and Eddie Almon.
Services for Lorene H. Hudson, 76, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Northeast Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Wall officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hudson died Jan. 24, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was born to Calvin and Amanda Cravatt Harris Nov. 2, 1922, at Mill Creek.
She was a homemaker and member of Northeast Baptist Church. She was the widow of Alphus Jefferson and Elmus Hudson.
Survivors include four sons, Michael and Winston Jefferson, Ardmore, Woodrow Jefferson, Tulsa, and Malcolm Jefferson, Gallup, N.M.; four daughters, Hawaii Davidson, Lewisville, Texas, Tiajuana John, Ardmore, Sandra Carillo, Pueblo, Colo., and Arnetta Higgins, Marietta; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jim Jefferson Jr.
Bearers will be grandsons. Honorary bearers will be Donald L. John, Nathan Hendrickson and Christopher Carillo.
Visitation will be at 6 tonight at Northeast Baptist Church.
Memorial services for Rebecca "Becca" Corinne Dial, 15, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Ardmore. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Bristow with the Rev. Bill Liggett officiating. Burial will be at Bristow City Cemetery.
Becca Corinne died Jan. 24, 1999, in Norman. She was born in Sapulpa on June 29, 1983, and lived in Bristow until 1992, when she moved to Ardmore. Becca was a member of First Baptist Church in Bristow and was active in the Youth Ministries of both the Baptist church and Methodist church in Ardmore. She was a sophomore at Lone Grove High School where she was a cheerleader, in the school band, and a member of the honor society, as well as active in vocal music and writing poetry.
Becca is survived by her parents, Dennis and Patty Dial of Bristow, and Pam and Scott Hill of Ardmore; maternal grandparents, Bud and Patricia Loughridge and Harold and Isabel Hill of Ardmore; paternal great-grandmother, Lucy Mae Dial of Bristow; sisters and best friends, Samantha Dial of Tahlequah, and Lysandra Dial of Norman; a stepbrother and his wife, Josh and Cinda Mass of Bristow; brother-in-law, Buck Few; nephew, David Few; and niece, Savannah Few of Bristow; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Clayton and Corinne Dial of Bristow.
Memorials may be made to the Rebecca Dial Memorial Fund at Community Bank, P.O. Box 1020 Bristow, OK 74010; or First National Bank of Lone Grove, P.O. Box 1500, Lone Grove, OK 73443.
Services will be directed by Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home of Ardmore and Schumacher Funeral Home in Bristow.
MADILL -- Services for Lona B. Walker, 89, will be at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Holden officiating. Interment will be at Woodberry Forest Cemetery under the direction of Watts Funeral Home.
Mrs. Walker died Jan. 24, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was born April 1, 1913, in Cotton County, to William H. and Rhoda A. Hambleton.
She married Edwin M. Walker June 28, 1939, at Chickasha, and during their 57 years of marriage they served at Methodist Churches all over the state, including four years at Madill. She taught Sunday school and worked with the Boy Scouts. After retiring in 1985, they moved back to Madill from Meeker. She was preceded in death by her husband April 2, 1996; a brother; and two sisters.
Survivors include two sons, John, Lincoln, Neb., and William, Oklahoma City; a daughter, Mary Ann Saxon, Madill; a sister, Florene Olsen, Napa, Calif.; six grandchildren; and two-great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Wes Saxon, Sam Barrick, Forrest and Mark Walker, George Ford and Dale Waymire. Honorary bearers are Norman Denton, George Leerstang, David Ward and Eugene Wood.
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Ray H. Branum, 81, will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Perry Crisp officiating. Interment will be at Ravia Cemetery under the direction of Corbin Funeral Home.
Branum died Jan. 24, 1999, in Tishomingo. He was born Dec. 10, 1917, at Petty, Texas, to Frank and Mary Sales Branum.
He served in the Marines during World War II, he was a trader, dealing in livestock, tack and guns. He was president of the Rodeo Club, a member of the city council and was responsible for modernizing the police department. He and Lema Ayres were married May 29, 1952, in Ada.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Jerry, Tishomingo, and Gary, Dallas; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two half brothers, Bill Branum and Fay Jackson, and his first wife, Wilma Faye Branum.
GAINESVILLE, Texas -- Graveside services for Leon, Okla., native Edna Embry Chisum, 89, will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, Texas.
Mrs. Chisum died Jan. 25, 1999, in Muenster, Texas. She was born Feb. 1 1909, at Leon, to Clint and Myrtle Cagle.
She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, W.C. "Bill" Embry in 1965, and Floy Chisum in 1996; a son, W.C. Embry Jr. in 1978; and a grandson.
She is survived by grandchildren, Vicki and Tori Embry, Marietta; a great-granddaughter; and great-great-granddaughter.
Carroll and Sons Funeral Home will direct services.

SULPHUR -- Services for Samuel Pettitt, 56, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cowley-Krien Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Malphrus officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Pettitt died Jan. 23, 1999. He was born March 6, 1942, at Sulphur, to Luther and Viola Woodruff Pettitt.
He lived in Sulphur and Murray County all his life and was a heavy equipment operator for Murray County District 1. He married Mennie Hector May 31, 1989.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; daughters, Loretta Pettitt, Kansas, Teresa Siazon, Stockton, Calif., Sara J. Hector, Sulphur, Lawanda, Christa and Tammy Pettitt, Fresno, Calif.; a son, Sammy, Sulphur; a brother, James, Sulphur; three sisters, JoAnn Littlepage, Mineral Wells, Texas, Linda Timmerman, Bakersfield, Calif., and Nellie Tray, Porterville, Calif.; ten grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was preceded by a brother, W.H.; and two sisters, Nola Jackson and Mary R. Crowley.
Bearers will be David Pruitt, Marvin McCracken, Jerry Graves, Billy F. Lance, Jerry and Johnny Pettitt. Honorary bearers are Cole Hughes, Leo Hinsley, Junior Hatfield, Billy, David and Allen Clary, James "Red" and James Pettitt Jr.
FOX -- Funeral services for James Bishop "Jay" Knipe, age 83, Pruitt City, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999, at Fox Baptist Church. The Rev. Roy Lucas will officiate with interment in Mount Olive Cemetery, Healdton.
Mr. Knipe died Sunday morning, Jan. 24, 1999, at his son's residence south of Healdton.
The son of Guy Monte and Alice Hughes Knipe, he was born March 1, 1915, at Cache, Okla.
He lived in the Cache-Lawton area until moving with his family to Archer County, Texas. He married Loree Cross on July 10, 1936, in Lawton, and lived in the Pruitt City area since 1948. His wife preceded him in death April 22, 1997.
Mr. Knipe had been a lease operator for Shell Oil Company, retiring in March of 1977. He was a member of Fox Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Frances and Troy Lewellen, Graham, and Judy and Andy Edwards, Norman; two sons and their wives, Guy Monty and Penny Knipe, Oldsmar, Fla., and Jamie and Glenda Knipe, Healdton; three sisters, Leona Garner, Vernon, Texas, Bert Farmer, Woodville, Texas, and Edith Jackson, Olney, Texas; his grandchildren and their families, Deann and Terry Pierson and their children, Loretha and Lewella, Karen and Bob Wright, their son, B.J., and his wife, Julie, and their son, Jonathan, Tavia Wright and her daughter, Tiara, Cheryl and Scott Heller, and their children, Wynn, Jackson and Brandon, Rebekah and Matt Rogers, Jay Edwards, Monica and Jeff Harvey and their children, Jordan and Madison, Chris and Brandy Knipe and their daughter, Kaylie, Guy David and Shelia Knipe, Karalee Walters, Stephen Walters, John Walters, Lydia Walters, Richard Walters, Robin and Danny Longsoldier, Guy Cody Longsoldier and Kylie Longsoldier. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Christopher Knipe; his parents; three sisters; and four brothers.
Bearers will be Tom Worsham, Jay Jones, John Perdue, Michael Perdue, Keith Smith, Charles Belvin, Shane Martin and Gary Smith. Honorary bearers will be Delbert Burton and Soapy Fletcher.

BURNEYVILLE -- Services for Haskell Cruce "Hack" Morgan, 75, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Auditorium, Turner High School with the Rev. Mike Williams and Pat Parker officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home, Wilson.
Morgan died Jan. 23, 1999 at Fox Pen. He was born May 30, 1923, at Oswalt, to Clarence E. and Betty D. Bearden Morgan.
Reared at Oswalt, he graduated from Murray State College, received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Oklahoma A&M College. The lifelong Love County resident served in the Army and spent his career teaching vocational agriculture at Meadowbrook, Leon and Thackerville high schools, retiring in 1984 after 20 years at Turner High School. He and Ruth J. Pearson were married Nov. 15, 1947, at Gainesville, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, of the home in Burneyville; two daughters, Jean A. Sprouse, Marsden, and Carolyn Zimmerman, Duncan; a son, Terry D., Lone Grove; three sisters, Loraine Musser, Burneyville, Maryette Clifton, Killeen, Texas, and Betty J. Hilton, Emporia, Kan.; two brothers, Charles, Pryor, and J.B., Sacramento, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kelly; and two sisters, Brunette Parsley and Anna Lee.
Berarers will be Pat Hockersmith, Paul Zimmerman, and grandsons, Brad and Justin Zimmerman, Jarred Morgan and Steve Hicks.
RINGLING -- Memorial services for Elton Eubanks, 91, will be 3 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. J.W. Ray officiating.
Born March 15, 1907, near Randlett, Indian Territory, to J.P. and Eva Downs Eubanks, he died Jan. 17, 1999, at a local health care facility.
He graduated from Devon High School and the University of Oklahoma. While in college, he lettered in football his first year and was captain of the wrestling team his last three years. He maintained strong emotional and financial interests with the university all of his life
During the early years of World War II, Eubanks worked as a civilian in the shipyards at Los Angeles, He returned to Ringling and was drafted by the United States Army. He went through basic training at Fort Belvedere, Va., and was assigned to the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos, N.M. Following the war, he returned to Ringling to farm and ranch.
He married Elizabeth Garner Marbutt on June 9, 1992, at Waurika. Eubanks was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Ringling school board, and had been president of the Ringling Rotary Club.
Survivors include his wife, of the hone; one son and daughter-in-law, James Patrick and Connie Eubanks, Ringling; five grandchildren and their spouses, Russell and Mary Eubanks, Allen, Texas, Charles Elton "Bo" and Cindy Eubanks, Norman, Patrick Earl and Rhonda Eubanks, Ringling, Audene Eubanks, Norman, and Kimberly Dennis, Edna, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Harley Eubanks, Ringling; one sister, Thelma Scott, Ringling; and one brother, Dewey Eubanks, Norman.
Services are under the direction of Reser Funeral Home.
MADILL -- Services for Lucille Sybel Owens, 72, were Saturday at Watts Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gene Wolfenbarger officiating. Interment followed at Woodberry-Forest Cemetery.
Born May 23, 1926, at Lebanon to Cordell H. and Nettie Southerland Green, she died Jan. 21, 1999, at a Fort Worth, Texas, hospital following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Owens was reared in Marshall County. She married Willis H. Owens on Aug. 28, 1941, at Fobb. She and her husband moved from Madill to Azle, Texas, in 1988. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; two sons, Danny, Granbury, Texas, and Roger, Azle; one sister, Lila Stewart, Fort Worth; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Bearers were Dalton Owens, Carl Ray Owens, Gene Sanders, Chuck Lewis, Wayne Davis and Bruce Davis.
