WILSON -- Graveside services for Jackie Raymond "Jack" Butcher will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bomar Point Cemetery with Darrel Bunch officiating.
Butcher died June 17, 1997, at his home. He was born Nov. 1, 1937, at Osceola, Iowa, to Fred and Helen Bright Butcher.
Reared in Little Sioux, Iowa, he married Brenda Porter in 1973, at Wilson, and was employed by Southerland Well Service.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Angie Tibbs, Wilson, and Lola Waltz, Winterset, Iowa; three sons, Jim Ray, Crescent, Daniel, Wilson, and Billy Joe, Indianola, Iowa; five sisters, Mary Anderson, Marie Sevard, Eva Funkhouser, Iva Leaird and Sally Brobst; three brothers, Donald, J.R. and Bob; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Darrell.
Bearers will be Allen Tibbs, Jamie Webb, Tim Vickers, Mark Wyatt, Farlin Thomason and Thomas Ballard. Honorary bearers are grandchildren, Brock and Derek Tibbs, Nathan Chance, Jack Riley and Hailey Butcher.
Alexander Funeral Home will direct services.
MADILL -- Services for Mable Almyria Ford, 82, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Watts Memorial Chapel with Larry Holder officiating. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery.
Mrs. Ford died June 17, 1997, in the local hospital. She was born Sept. 15, 1914, at Choctaw.
Reared at Shamrock, she married George Ford June 7, 1934, at Galveston, Texas, and they moved to this area from Graham in 1948. She was a member of Eastern Star and First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Douglas, Friendswood, Texas; a daughter, Brenda Welch, Leonard, Texas; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Noah Sisson; and sisters, Ruby Biswell and Loeve Weaver.
Bearers will be Royce Allen, Eugene Wood, Hack Hartin, Don Whittaker, Norman Denton and David Ward.
RAVIA -- Services for Jack Herman Holden, 75, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ravia Baptist Church with J.D. Leavelle officiating. Interment will be at Ravia Cemetery.
Holden died June 18, 1997, at his home. He was born June 14, 1922, at Little Rock, Ark.
Reared at Ravia, he attended Murray State College and served in the Army during World War II, attached to the 501st Parachute Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. He worked much of his life in offshore oil drilling and exploration and was a member of Ravia Baptist Church. He and Wanda Ash were married Sept. 4, 1970, at Bridgeport, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; four daughters, Ginger Alvarez, Colorado Springs, Colo., Kim Wilkinson, Altus, Linda Griggs and Cynthia Suhuniskie, Garland, Texas; and six grandchildren.
Bearers will be Joe Watson, James Futch, LeRoy Benge, Joel Cantrell, Herman Hatch and Dan Coffee. Honorary bearers are Floyd Green and J.E. Fields.

BILLINGS, Mont. -- Services for Flora E. Scoggins were scheduled for 10 a.m. today, June 19, 1997, at Smith West Chapel in Billings, Mont. Services will also be at 11 a.m. June 26 at Marshall-Spoo-Sunset Chapel in Grover Beach, Calif., with interment in Arroyo Grande Cemetery.
Mrs. Scoggins, 95, passed away Sunday, June 15, 1997, at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born in Hagerman, N.M., July 5, 1901, one of nine children born to Perry M. and Mary Stroope Melton.
She was reared on a cattle ranch and became an excellent horseback rider. As she grew older, she learned to play the piano and organ by ear, and became an excellent seamstress.
On April 23, 1923, Flora married Clifton Scoggins in Canutillo, Texas. They lived in Anthony, N.M., Miami, Ariz., and California between 1923 and 1935, then settled in El Paso, Texas. In 1951, she and Clifton moved to Arizona, living there until they retired to California in 1959. Mr. Scroggins died in San Luis Obispo, Calif., March 16, 1980. Flora moved to Billings in 1985 to be near her family. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Flora was home-oriented, always trying to help provide for relatives and friends. She loved her family and grandchildren, and those who knew her thought of her as a dear little lady who worked hard all her life. Mrs. Scroggins enjoyed a long life of nearly a century and will be remembered as a wonderful, dear, sweet mother.
Survivors include three daughters, Gwen Russell, Arroyo, Calif., Joyce Scoggins and Janet Lagge, Billings; a sister, Reatha Reynolds, Haughton, La.; a sister-in-law, Ina Scoggins Frost, Las Cruces, N.M.; grandchildren, Lynn Burks, Ardmore, Karen Bradshaw, Chula Vista, Calif., and Steve Burks, San Markus, Calif.; stepgrandchildren, Kathy Price, San Jose, Calif., Cylest Burks, Overbrook, and Amanda Burks, Oregon; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and three grandchildren.
Services for John Wesley Hardin Wall, 28, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harvey-Douglas Chapel with the Rev. Morgan Ashworth officiating. Interment will be at Provence Cemetery.
Born to Allan and Vivian Murray Wall Jan. 16, 1969, at Torrence, Calif., Wall died June 18, 1997, following an auto accident.
He was employed by Elliott Manufactured Homes of Madill.
He is survived by a daughter, Lyndsay Wall; a brother, Chris; and grandmother, Mary Wall, all of Ardmore.
Bearers will be Chris Cantrell, Jay Hoskins, Scott Parkhill, Chris Ashworth, Tracy Garmon and Adam Waltz.
WILSON -- Graveside rites for Jefferson Marion Way, 79, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hewitt Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Gillum officiating.
Way died June 19, 1997, in a local health care facility. He was born Aug. 30, 1918, to Frank and Bertha Way.
Reared in Wilson, he attended the Oklahoma School for the Deaf and worked as a mechanic.
He is survived by three brothers, Freddie, Healdton, Rayford and J.V., Wilson; and three sisters, Aubrene Boles, Wilson, Juanita Howard, Ryan, and Joann Johnson, Stratford. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Robert and L.C.
Nephews will serve as bearers.
WAPANUCKA -- Services for Harvey Marion Baxter will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Corbin Chapel with the Rev. Claude Buie officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Baxter died June 18, 1997, in Tishomingo. He was born Sept. 16, 1904, in Arkansas, to William M. and Methora Strawn Baxter.
He was a farmer and lifetime resident of Atoka County. He married Eunice Casey March 5, 1927, at Atoka. He was a member of Wilson Community Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Marion, Atoka; two daughters, Bobbie Johnson, Atoka, and Rita Howell, Calvin; a brother, Bill, Shady Point; four sisters, Ethel Corley, Atlanta, Texas, Minnie Chapman, Haworth, Pat Bowling, Cove, Ark., and Johnny Breece, Broken Bow; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; and a brother, Thomas.
Bearers will be Terry and Dean Howell, David and Dan Johnson, Jeff and Don Baxter. Honorary bearers are Raymond Taylor, Rowe James, Ben and Willard Williams.
LOCO --ÊServices for Weldon P. "Billy" Darrow, 90, were at 10 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Loco. Interment was at Loco Cemetery.
Darrow, a pioneer rancher in Stephens, and Jefferson counties, died June 17, 1997, at his home. He was born Feb. 25, 1907, in Bowie, Texas.
Reared in Addington, he married Mary Boles in Walters on March 22, 1936 and they operated the family ranch southeast of Loco more than 50 years. He was a member of Texas and Southwestern and Oklahoma cattleman's associations and First Methodist Church. His wife died July 22, 1992.
He is survived by a brother-in-law, Howard Boles, Duncan; and sister-in-law, Helen Headrick, Addington.
Worley Funeral Home, Waurika, directed services.
Services for Melton Freeman, 81, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Freeman officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Born Feb. 13, 1916, at Healdton to Robert and Altha Bowman Freeman, he died June 21, 1997, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by a son, Melton Randall Freeman, and seven brothers and sisters.
Freeman was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. After returning from the war he moved to Ardmore in 1946. He had lived here all but 10 years when he lived in Colorado. He married Doris Duncan on Oct. 30, 1988, at Gordonville, Texas. Freeman was a retired cook, having worked in several area restaurants including Carlton's.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 30, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4574, American Legion Post 65, and attended the New Covenant Fellowship Church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Sherry Lund, Huitchinson, Minn., and Wanda Freeman, Lincoln, Neb.; one son, Robert J., Greeley, Colo.; one brother, Guy, Healdton; one sister, Wanda Todd, Healdton; three stepdaughters, Sharon Horton, Ardmore, Karen Boling, Fort Worth, Texas, and Gale McDougal, Toledo, Ohio; two stepsons, Billy Duncan, Stratford, and Bobby Duncan, Oklahoma City; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
Services for Kathryn Lawana Grider, 74, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tholm Balmer officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Born July 12, 1922, at Brock to D. Gramham and Stella Clark Carroll, she died June 19, 1997, at a Tulsa hospital.
Mrs. Grider grew up in the Ardmore community, graduating from Plainview High School. She married O.T. Grider on Sept. 14, 1940, at Ardmore. They left Ardmore in 1946 and moved to Tulsa. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Police Auxiliary Association.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; one daughter, Karen K. Fuller, Tulsa; one brother, Dale Carroll, Cleveland; two sisters, Helen Riba, Tulsa, and Marine King, Casper, Wyo.; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.
HEALDTON -- Graveside funeral services for Odie Pate, 74, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Olive Cemetery with the Rev. Russell Cheatham officiating.
Mr. Pate died Friday morning, June 20, 1997, at Healdton after a sudden illness.
The son of Thomas E. and Lillie Mae Lawson Pate, he was born June 4, 1923, at Maud. He married Helen Butler on April 5, 1946, at Little Rock, Ark. They lived in the Healdton area for several years before his oil field work around the country. They moved back to Healdton in 1967.
Mr. Pate was a retired Mobile Pipeline Company foreman and had served in the U.S. Air Force in England during World War II. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener, and a devoted grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, of the home; four daughters, Muriel McAlister, Hurst, Texas, Peggy Schlinke, Euless, Texas, Terry Wallace, Healdton, and Karen Pate, Arlington, Texas; his grandchildren, Steve McAlister and his wife, Amy, Hurst; Brady McAlister, Hurst; Paige Wallace, Healdton, and Whitney Wallace, Healdton; one great-granddaughter, Megan McAlister, Hurst; and one brother, Robert "Bob" Pate, Aztec, N.M. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Orbin Pate; and a sister, Dorothy Allen.
Bearers will be Hoot Gilbert, Wes Shipman, Rodney Shipman, Jackie Glenn, Aubrey Wallace and Billy Jack Walk.
Services are under the direction of Reser Funeral Home.
HEALDTON -- Graveside rites for Doug Farmer, 49, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Mount Olive Cemetery with the Rev. Dalton Young officiating.
Born Sept. 16, 1947, at Ardmore to Paul and Opal Stevens Farmer, he died June 20, 1997, at Healdton after a sudden illness.
Raised in Ada, Farmer was a graduate of Byng High School. He attended East Central State College. In Ada he worked at McNutt's Body Shop and was a race car driver. After living in Colorado, he moved to Healdton where he worked in the oil fields and also at a southeastern Oklahoma sawmill. Farmer served in the National Guard for several years. He attended Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Jettie Journagan, Healdton; Rachel Farmer and Bonny Farmer, both Lone Grove; one son, Cody, Lone Grove; his mother, of Pittsburg; two sisters, Paulette Farmer, Columbia, Mo., and Kay Young, Noble; and one brother, Clint, Pittsburg.
Honorary bearers will be Tinker Bivens, Keith Newman, Mike Weaver, Pat Weaver, Tony Weaver, Timmy Weaver, Chris Weaver and Larry Emerson.
Reser Funeral Home will direct services.
Services are under the direction of Reser Funeral Home.
DAVIS -- Services for Mary E. Brown, 90, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Fox Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
Born May 11, 1907, at Davis to Jerome and Pearl Holder Looney, she died June 21, 1997, at a Sulphur hospital. She married Oscar Newton Brown on Oct. 28, 1955, at Wilberton. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, George McFarland, on April 18, 1997.
Mrs. Brown had worked in the nursing field. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Lillian Reeb, Oilton, Texas; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
